Chapter 6; The Thoughts of the three Kings
Authors notes; Heya everyone new and old, it's been a very long time, I've been trying to get myself out of a creative funk. It was hard but here is the new chapter, hope you enjoy.
Aro POV
I watched as the stitches went in, the shivers off Bella showed me she was in pain even if she wasn't outwardly showing it. The long wound that was previously open, was slowly being closed. I was also observing how Carlisle was reacting to such a situation. It was difficult, but I could see the sorrow and guilt in his eyes as he was working. He was quite, and that is something that stood out to me. Carlisle was never a meek man, so seeing him like this unsettled me to no end. I masked my emotions behind a blank stare, all the while making sure to give Bella the comfort she needed.
Cauis POV
As I looked into the small humans big chocolate brown eyes I felt something that I haven't felt in a while. RAGE, pure unbridled rage! Not because of the small human infront of me. I felt rage because of the suffering she had endured because of people she trusted, that she loved. Her arm shivered as the stitches went in and it made me alarmed that she wasn't outwardly expressing her pain. This is not common human nature. There was alot to take in. Her frail body, the endless cuts and scars. They covered the frail humans body from head to toe. I'm never going to allow this human to get hurt again. Over my dead body, it will be hard to get to recovery. But we have to try in order to give her a better life then this. She deserves better then this. Finally I snap out of thought and see the stitches are done. I'm still holding her arm. Still she didn't waver. Marcus came over with fresh gauze and bandages. The human stayed still for Marcus. There where different coloured bandages, ranging from patterned colours to novelty colours. Aro has a thing for the weird and wonderful. Before I knew what I was saying I was asking her if she would like to choose the colours. She wanted the skull and crossbone purple bandage set. It suited her very well.
Marcus POV
I walked over with the skull and crossbone Purple gauze and bandage set. I had also bought over the iodine solution in order to disinfect the wound. I carefully shoved Carlisle out of place and took a seat next to Bella. She flexed her hand and then asked me this question. I've been asked this many times, especially if other humans are around. "Please be gentle, I'm scared." I looked at her and my eyes and facial expressions soften. I smile and reassure her that she has nothing to worry about. I take her arm in my own and slowly start putting the iodine solution on her arm. She didn't even flinch. As I steadly put that gauze on, I really notice how many times she has attempted this before. I can't think of how damaging this all was for her. How traumatised she is. She was in a state of shock when we found her. It would make sense after all. As I looked down I realised I had bandaged her arm, she looked at me with tears in her eyes and shuffled over the bed towards me. I wasn't expecting what happened next. She kissesed my cheek. Something inside me changed as soon as she planted the sweet kiss of life on my cheek. I've never felt so warm and safe and settled. As she pulled away she snuggled into me and fell asleep. I could see that she was exhausted. I grabbed my bag and took out the blanket. I wrapped it around her and soon she was sleeping soundly in my arms. It felt strange but good.
