Minnnnnaaaa am here!
Sorry for the wait *bows repeatedly* I've been terribly busy last week and on Monday I was sick, so I couldn't finish the chapter and upload Q.Q
I'm really sorry!
Okay now, enjoy this chappy! :3
The next morning Hirari slept in. It was a Saturday, the first day after ages where she could get some rest, now that all the exams were over. She took her time in standing up, cuddling a bit with the blankets before finally going to take a long bath. She massaged her neck at times, the puncture wounds gone yet she still felt it a bit sore.
She yawned while preparing a breakfast in the kitchen, or rather a brunch seeing that it was almost noon. Taking a couple of eggs she scrambled them, then boiled some water that she poured in a bowl of instant ramen; once everything was ready, the girl proceeded to sit and eat them quietly, musing about various things: the results of the exams, the possible triple alliance, her own soon-to-be tougher training.
Suddenly she spotted a note on the board. They kept one at the kitchen door in order to leave messages to the other. She lightly narrowed her eyes to read Yukimura's elegant yet small writing.
'I have a few meetings today; I doubt I'll return home before midnight. Good luck at practice!
Mura'
"It's gotta be about having Seigaku join us, I bet." She muttered to herself.
Hirari blinked and looked at the note again. Practice, huh… Her eyes widened and searched for the clock at once, suddenly fearing to be late. Yet she took a deep relieved breath when she realized it was still early. "I got time…"
Once she finished breakfast, the girl checked her bag. The training suit was neatly folded, the bamboo sword for kendo in its case, the Talisman with all the Elemental Stones was in an internal pocket too, and – was that a hole in the Talisman? She frantically searched the whole bag for the missing stone, the brown one with green curled spots.
"Where are you, Earth…" she grumbled as she took everything out of the bag before looking around. "Oh, come on!"
Hirari searched for a good half an hour before eventually finding it. It was in a little pocket in the pants that she had worn the day before. She glared lightly at the small oval stone while replacing it in its hole.
Soon after, the girl had left the house and was heading to the train station. She was lost in her thoughts as she entered an isolated, dark alley that she knew; it worked as a shortcut and saved her a lot of time, letting her avoid the endless number of traffic lights that had often been the cause for her delays.
Hirari didn't hear the steps of someone who, gradually and carefully, was nearing her from behind. She assumed that almost nobody knew, or went in, that alley, as it was relatively creepy and humid. So she didn't even think of staying alert.
Suddenly though, she felt a presence dashing from behind towards her – at a high-speed. Actually, it was impossible for a Human to run that fast, her mind realized. And then she felt it.
Hirari turned towards her aggressor. "Stay away, Vampire!"
Said person, a man, froze a moment, his eyes widening in surprise. How did she hear him approach, how did she know what he was if she didn't see him?
Because, now that could see him, there was a detail that did classify him as Vampire… His bared fangs.
The girl availed herself of that hesitation. She swiftly took out the Talisman from the bag's outer pocket and raised it in front of her. With her free hand she made a mysterious sign.
"Shichiban no Jutsu: RAI!" she yelled.
The moment she pronounced those words, the yellow Elemental Stone shone; Hirari stretched her left hand, on whose palm a kanji had appeared: 雷, Thunder.
Before the Vampire could move, a yellow light shot from the kanji, hitting him with a strong electrical shot. The whole action had occurred in less than five seconds.
Of course, that amount of power wasn't even enough to harm him for real, but it would give her enough time to escape. Chance that she took at once, turning and running as fast as she could towards the station while he was paralyzed. She was lucky enough that the train she needed to hop in had just arrived, and she wasted no time. Soon she was safely heading towards the dojo, her heart still pounding in adrenaline. She looked at her palm, on which the kanji had disappeared; she sighed deeply and placed the Talisman around her neck, hiding it under her shirt. She decided that it would be safer to keep it close from now on.
The Vampire had felt surprise more than once within a minute. First, that girl found out his race. Second, she didn't seem afraid of it. Third, she dared to fight him. And he had literally been stunned.
He had cursed when he was hit by that weird yellow thing. Damn if that had hurt. And here he just wanted to have an easy prey; what was that girl, a Vampire Hunter or something? He scoffed at himself at those words.
As soon as he was able to move freely, he lunged at the girl – yet she was gone. He cursed once again and followed her scent, but it seemed like she had entered the train station and he lost her. There were just too many people.
He ran a hand through his hair, thinking quickly. He needed to feed, but that girl's behavior was bugging him. And that strange power that she used against him, what was it?
He then decided to report to his boss, just in case. So he disappeared.
There were several things that upset Atobe Keigo. One of these was when someone disturbed him when he was being busy.
And he was currently busy, feeding on a slave. And a knock at the living room's doors disturbed him.
His silver eyes pierced the person that entered, one of the few that were allowed to even if he didn't give his permission; admitted that it was an emergency. And indeed…
"An F-class Vampire wants to speak with you." Oshitari Yuushi, Atobe's counselor and tensai of Hyoutei, announced him. "He says it's very important."
The King of Hyoutei growled lightly and withdrew. "It better is, if he dares interrupt Ore-sama's mealtime." He shooed the girls, slightly annoyed.
The doors opened again and the announced Vampire entered; he bowed in front of his leader at once and spoke with his head low, feeling the gaze of the King on him.
"Speak." Atobe said coldly.
"Atobe-sama, I was out in the city for a meal-" he started, but was interrupted at once. "Cut it short. Ore-sama is busy."
The Vampire gulped and rapidly narrated him the events that occurred in the alley, with that Human girl attacking him.
Atobe cocked an eyebrow. "You let yourself be defeated by a mere Human?"
The Vampire paled, feeling the temperature of the room slowly decrease; and that could only mean that he had made his leader upset.
"D-demo, Atobe-sama, the girl sensed me. Sh-she knew I was a Vampire before seeing me." He explained quickly.
Atobe frowned lightly. A Human, sensing a Vampire. Now that was peculiar. He glanced at his tensai and saw his slightly confused expression.
"What did the girl look like?" Oshitari asked.
"She seemed to be a Halfblood." He answered immediately. "Um… Her hair were dark, but I think her eyes were blue… or grey."
Atobe glared lightly at him. "You are not sure?"
The Vampire trembled lightly. "I-I didn't have much time for the details…"
The King growled softly before dismissing him, watching as that lowly man disappeared from the room; then he turned his attention to the megane, who was… smirking?
"Explain yourself." The leader only said, feeling like the other had understood something.
Oshitari chuckled lightly. "Atobe… We might have finally found her."
The leader's eyes widened a moment, then he smirked. "Wonderful. We shall proceed with the plan, then."
