Might as well just start calling this a Splossom one-shot book now-

But this time I actually have a good reason to post Splossom content, as it was Blossom's birthday yesterday! I had a very busy day yesterday so I couldn't post it on her actual birthday, which is still very sad, but eh.

Vil gets a lot of credit for thinking of this idea, it was beautiful so I tried to write it... emphasis on tried

I'm not really proud of this, it's alright I guess. I actually kinda hate it for unknown reasons.

You're Magic ~ Splossom

Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, bee-

Blossom lazily threw her hand on her alarm clock, stopping it from making any more noise. As she sat up she felt a stinging pain in her back. It wasn't unusual for her to have back pain, but this was worse than anything she'd felt before. "Great…" she whispered to herself, before reaching for her glasses. Doing this she, of course, knocked them off her nightstand. After finally finding them somewhere underneath her bed she looked at the time. It was already 9:45 AM and her shift started at 10AM.

Opening the door she was immediately hit with ice-cold raindrops hitting her face. Cursing herself for not having an umbrella, or a proper raincoat, she started running to work. In her hurry she tripped several times and bumped into way too many people.

When she finally arrived at her job, soaking wet and practically blind as her glasses were a smeary mess, she quickly let herself inside. No one seemed to be home and after stealing a raincoat from Katherine she went to work.

Being a gardener, Blossom spent most of her day outside. This meant she had to spend hours in the rain if she wanted to make any money at all. As her hands got muddier with the second she could feel her glasses slowly slipping off her nose. Not wanting to get mud on them she used her wrists to push them back up, which wasn't much help as the glasses fell onto the ground anyways.

After cleaning them the best she could, Blossom checked the time. It was 12:14 PM, meaning she'd worked for about 2 hours. Convincing herself that she deserved a break she walked back inside, almost slipping on her way. As soon as she sat down at the kitchen table, she could feel her phone vibrating in her pocket. She picked up without even looking at who was calling her.

"Hey, Blossom!" a familiar voice said.

"Oh, hi Kath," Blossom answered.

"Happy birthday, I'm sorry I can't be there-"

"Wait, what?" Blossom interrupted Katherine. "Is that today?"

"... Yes. It's October 9th, that's your birthday, right?"

"Yes… yes it is. Shit, I completely forgot." Blossom wanted to bang her head against a wall. How could she forget her own birthday?

"Oh… well, anyways… congratulations! Dad and I are visiting some family friends right now, but do you mind if we celebrate Monday?"

"You really don't have to-"

"Shush! Yes, we do. Now, do we celebrate Monday?"

"Yeah, I guess that works for me…"

"Great! See you then!" And with that Katherine hung up.

Blossom groaned and hid her head in her hands. Today was her freaking birthday and she forgot. With the stress, and the rain, she hadn't paid attention to the date at all. Once again her phone rang, but this time it wasn't Katherine.

"Hi, Specs." A huge smile appeared on Blossom's face. Getting a call from your boyfriend, on your birthday, isn't usually such a big deal. But in that moment it felt like the best thing that could've happened.

"Hey, happy birthday, Sunflower!"

"Thank you."

"Ya don't sound very excited 'bout turnin' 19," Specs noted.

"It's just that I kinda forgot, Katherine literally just reminded me like a minute ago."

"How do you- nevermind, when does yer shift end?" He asked, a tone in his voice that Blossom couldn't quite place.

"Eh… Around five, I think, why?"

"Do you mind if I pick ya up?"

Blossom was taken back by the question. "No…. Are you planning something?"

"Maybe, but it's nothing big. I'm a poor newsboy I can't afford no fancy restaurants or antyhin'."

"Yeah, I know that, don't worry," she chuckled. "Give me some time to get ready for whatever you wanna do, though. I look like absolute shit."

"I'm sure ya look magnificent!"

"Specs, hun, I just spent two hours working in the rain, in a garden. There's mud everywhere."

"Fair point, shall I pick ya up from your place at four then?"

Blossom nodded, but quickly realised that Specs could in fact not see that. "That works for me."

"Great! See ya then!"

Blossom put down the phone and looked outside. It was still raining cats and dogs, but work had to be done. So, she went back outside to continue her work.

Finally, after several hours, her shift ended and she could go home. She would've loved to just stay home and don't do anything, but that wasn't an option.

At 4:55PM she was finally done getting ready. She'd brushed her hair, put on an acceptable outfit, and sort of fixed her makeup. Just as she was about to grab her bag the doorbell rang.

"Happy birthday," Specs said and smiled brightly.

"Thank you." Blossom kissed his cheek. "So, why did you wanna pick me up?"

"Well, if I told ya it wouldn't be as fun." Specs paused for a moment. "Do you mind if I…" he covered Blossom's eyes with his hands.

"Specs!" Blossom reached up to take his hands away.

"Sorry, sorry, I just want this to be a surprise," Specs quickly explained. His hands loosened around her eyes as Blossom calmed down.

"Alright, but if I trip you can't see the bunnies for at least two weeks," she threatened. They walked in a comfortable silence through the streets, just enjoying each other's presence.

"Where are you taking me?" Blossom asked after a while of walking. "You're not gonna kill me in a dark alleyway are you?"

"You really think I'd do that?" Specs chuckled.

"You're right, you couldn't kill a fly even if you wanted to," Blossom teased.

"I'll have ya know, I've killed many spiders and flies!"

"Of course you did."

"There is spider blood on these hands!" Specs dramatically yelled.

"Sure, just make sure you don't get it on my glasses, please," Blossom laughed.

They walked for a little longer until Blossom could hear an elevator ping. "Specs…"

"Just trust me on this," he whispered. Soon after they stepped out of the elevator Blossom could hear a door open. "You ready?"

"Hopefully," Blossom muttered. Slowly Specs removed his hands. They were standing in an apartment. It looked quite new from what Blossom could see. "You bought an apartment?" She smiled and turned around.

"No, I bought us an apartment." Specs smirked.

"I…" Blossom was speechless.

"I know I should've told you. I just really wanted to do something special and this-" He was interrupted by Blossom kissing him.

"I love it! It's ours?" She asked once she pulled away.

"Yeah, I know it ain't much…"

"Shuddup, it's more than enough!" Blossom let out an excited squeal as she looked around the room.

"I'm glad you like it!" Specs laughed at Blossom's excitement.

"Look, I was not having a good day, but then as soon as you called me everything started getting better… Well, not everything, but most of it! And now you surprise me with a freaking apartment?! How could I not like it?" Blossom explained and looked at him. "You're truly magical, Specs."

"I-… thank you," Specs smiled. "I've been saving for ages to afford this."

"I can imagine." Blossom took another look. "Gah, I love it! Thank you!"

She hugged him and everything bad seemed to disappear. The moment was beautiful, perfect-

"Achoo!" Blossom sneezed, making Specs startle and jump backwards. "Sorry…"

"It's alright," he chuckled. They grabbed each other's hand, and in that moment they felt like nothing could bring them down. For a moment they were the only thing that mattered.

Uhhh... tada, I guess...
