It was Monday morning. The team was in the squad room with not much to do. They had all finished up delayed paperwork the day before and a new case hadn't come in yet, so they didn't have much to do. They did notice that JJ was in Hotch's office, so they figured a new case was coming.

"You ready for your certification test in a couple days?" Morgan asked Lorelai

"I hope so. I don't think I will know for sure until I take the test." She told him.

"She's ready. She is not being confident enough." Spencer spoke up

"You've been helping her?" Morgan asked

"She doesn't need the help. I have seen her practicing though." Spencer told Morgan.

Lorelai looked up at Spencer and gave him a look of questioning?

Spencer took a second, but he clued into what she was saying. "And since it has been brought to our attention that we work with people who don't miss much. Yes. We are dating." Spencer told them.

The rest of the room smirked. "About time you share the good news." Emily said before she turned to look at Lorelai "If he thinks your ready, I am sure you are. You excel at everything you do."

Lorelai smiled a bit. "Thanks." She appreciated the complement, but it didn't really help. To be honest it just put more pressure on her. In the past she was never afraid to fail at anything. Because there was really no one to disappoint. While she loved having a family and people to depend on it sometimes made it harder when she was trying something new for fear of failure.

The three agents upstairs came down and told them all to meet in the conference room. They all went in to start discussing the new case.

The new case was in Texas. They had three families whose home were broken into, and expensive artwork stolen, and the wives raped.

"Do the families know each other?" Rossi asked

"Not personally but they all attended a charity auction where their artworks were purchased." JJ told the team.

"Anyone at the auction would know they have them than." Prentiss pointed out

"Right. They have looked into that, and everyone seems to have an alibi." Hotch told them.

They finished the briefing before Hotch told them to be at the jet in an hour.

They all went their ways to get their grab bags and headed out to the jet with Lorelai telling David and JJ about her and Spencer since the rest of the team had been informed.

They got to Texas about four hours later. When they landed Hotch sent Rossi and Davies to the most recent crime scene. Sent Morgan & Prentiss to talk to the other two families while Reid, JJ and himself went to the police station.

They all went where they were instructed and started in on the investigation. They needed to work quickly if their unsub followed the same pattern, it wouldn't be long before the next family would be victimized.

Before long they had finished with the crime scenes and talking to the victims and a profile was started. JJ, Hotch and Reid delivered the profile to the team and the officers at the Texas police department.

The team split up again when given orders. Agent Davies and JJ were sitting in the conference room at the station looking over the suspect list again working with Garcia over the phone who was looking up their suspects to see if they had any criminal records.

Aside from a few unpaid parking tickets none of the suspects had a criminal record. They could hear Garcia still typing. "Wait. Actually, one of the possible suspects has a sealed juvie record." She told them

"Can you unseal it?" Lorelai asked.

"I am trying. It seems that it shows there is a record but when I look into the files, they all seemed to have been deleted." Garcia told them.

"Someone with access to them erased the records?" JJ asked

"Seems that way." Garcia told them

"What's the name?" Agent Davies asked

"Todd Collins." Garcia answered.

"There is an Officer Collins who works here." JJ said quietly looking behind them to make sure the door was closed and that no one was watching or listening.

They could hear Garcia typing into the computer "Its his son…"

Lorelai looked pissed. "I -hate. Corrupt. Cops." She said angrily.

"Agent Davies we don't know he is corrupt. We don't know what his record is." JJ told her

"Well, someone deleted it. Who would have a motive to do that? I don't know maybe the suspects cop father?" She told them.

"It could simply be a computer issue?" Garcia offered

"I highly doubt that." Lorelai told her.

"Okay. Well maybe not but we do not know what happened." JJ said. She texted Hotch they needed him in the conference room now. "We will talk to Hotch and see what we should do."

Lorelai sighed. "Fine. But I don't like it."

Hotch came into the room after he saw the text and closed the door. "What is it?" He asked noticing his youngest agent looking annoyed.

"We have found that one of the suspects had a closed juvenal record. When Garcia unsealed it. The file is empty. The suspect's name is Todd Collins. He is Officer Collins twenty-four-year-old son." JJ told him.

Agent Hotchner nodded. "Okay. Agent Jareau you and I will go talk to Todd. I will get Reid in here to help you keep looking through the suspects." He told Agent Davies

Lorelai nodded keeping her mouth shut.

Hotch texted Reid and he and JJ went to talk to Todd Collins.

Reid came in and closed the door before sitting down with Agent Davies. He tilted his head. "What's wrong?" He asked her

Lorelai took a breathe. "I don't think I should say."

Reid shrugged. "Okay."

He worked with Davies and Garcia to look through the rest of the suspects.

Meanwhile Hotch and JJ arrived at Todd Collins home. They were invited inside without question.

"How can I help the FBI?" he asked

"I'm sure you have heard about the three families whose homes were broken into and artwork stolen." Hotch told him.

"Yes, I have. Its terrifying. I work at the auction house where the charity auction was held." He told them.

"Yes. We realized that no follow up interview was had with you and wanted to see if you remembered anything else." JJ told him.

"No. I told the officers everything. I was in the back when the auction occurred. I don't know anything. I think the auctioneer, or the owner of the auction house would probably be more likely to know anything." Todd told them.

"And just so we can finish our paperwork. Where were you the nights of the break ins?" Hotch asked reminding him what the dates were.

Todd pulled out his phone and looked at the calendar on it. "The first night I was out of town visiting a friend. The other two I was here." He told them.

"Anyone who can verify that?" JJ asked.

Todd took a breathe. "Am I a suspect?" He asked sounding annoyed.

"We are looking into everyone Mr. Collins." Agent Hotchner assured him

He gave them the friends name and number of where he was during the first break in and as for the other two nights, he didn't not have anyone who could verify it. "And if you have any further questions, you can contact my lawyer." He told them handing them his lawyer's card and showing them out.

JJ & Hotch left and headed back to the police station.

When they got back, they went to the conference room. At that point everyone was in the room except Agent Davies.

"Where is Agent Davies?" Hotch asked.

"Bathroom." Reid told them. "But she's been there awhile." He added

Prentiss got up. "I'll go make sure she's okay." She went to the bathroom and saw she wasn't there. She took out her phone and texted her. 'Where are you?' She asked

Lorelai saw the text. She was in the basement of the police station in the records room.. She was going to find out what Todd Collins record entailed. 'I'm in the bathroom. Period cramps' She told her.

'Really? I am standing in the empty bathroom. What are you really doing?' She asked

"Shit" she mumbled under her breathe. 'I will be back to conference room soon.' She texted back.

'Davies. I don't know what you are doing but I suggest you stop and come back to the conference room now.' She told her

'I will be there soon' she restated.

Prentiss took a breathe and texted back. 'You aren't really given me many options here Agent Davies. I will not lie to Hotch, and he is going to ask if you are okay since I said I would come check on you.'

Lorelai texted back 'I am doing what needs to be done.'

Prentiss let out a sigh and went back to the conference room.

"Is she okay?" Hotch asked.

"I don't know. She wasn't in there. I texted her. I don't know what she is doing exactly, but I know it isn't good." She told him.

Hotch looked at Reid. "What did she say exactly?"

Reid looked confused. "She told me she was going to the bathroom that's all."

"She was pissed about the whole situation and thinking we might have a corrupt cop here." JJ told him.

Hotch looked out of the conference room window. He could see Officer Collins in the squad room.

He texted Agent Davies. 'What ever you are doing you are ordered to stop and come back to the conference room. Now!'

Lorelai saw the texted and sighed. She figured she was already in trouble, and she had just found the file. She ignored the text and investigated the file. She found that he did have a juvenal record. He had been picked up for underage drinking. Once. File said he was fifteen and his mother had just died. Lorelai's heart sank. She had her answer and her gut now told her she had been too quick to judge. She put the file back where she found it before texting him back. 'On my way.'

She went back upstairs to the conference room. She went inside and went back to her seat not looking at anyone.

Hotch gave everyone -except Davies their next task. They all went leaving Hotch and Agent Davies alone. Once they were gone Hotch looked at her.

"Agent Davies. Where were you?" He asked.

Lorelai took a breathe. "I don't want to lie to you, so I am going to say I'd rather not say."

"Oh, you think that is even an option?" He said clearly annoyed

"Well, I don't know what else to say." She told him

"How about you just tell me where you were Agent Davies" he said.

"I plead the fifth." She told him

"This isn't a courtroom Agent Davies, and my patience is running -very thin." He told her his voice getting lower and lower.

She let out a breathe realizing she has been defeated. "I went to the records room. To find Todd Collins paper records." She told him.

Hotch shook his head. He didn't know what to say. He was furious. He knew he couldn't just let it go. "We will discuss this later Agent Davies." He said getting up and leaving the room to go talk to Officer Collins.

"Officer Collins. May I have a word with you?" He asked.

The officer went with him to the conference room with him.

"We were looking into the employees of the auction house and into all their criminal records. We found that your son works there and that he had a juvenal record. We open it and found the file on the computer seemed to be deleted. We just want to make sure we have all the information." Hotch told him. "What did he get arrested for?" Hotch asked.

Officer Collins nodded. "About six months ago there was a computer glitch, and several files were deleted. We have our tech guys looking into the paper files and having them put back in the system. The paper file is downstairs to verify what he did. He was fifteen my wife, his mother had just passed away from cancer. He got into my liquor cabinet and drank. A lot. He than left and went for a walk. He was clearly very drunk and was arrested by an officer from another precinct. It went to court. Todd was charged with public intoxication and underage drinking. He got 150 hours of community service and his record was closed when he turned eighteen." He told them.

Agent Hotchner nodded. "Thank You Officer Collins, we are very sorry for your loss."

Officer Collins nodded and left the room.

Hotch closed the door behind him. "Is that what the record said?" He asked Agent Davies

Lorelai hadn't said a word she realized how badly she had messed up. "Yes Sir." She said softly.

Hotch nodded. "Did it ever occur to you to just ask him?"

"If he was corrupt, it would have shown our hand." She told him.

"Agent Davies. How long have you been working with the FBI?" He asked.

"Over three years." She answered.

"How many police officers or law enforcement in general have you worked with?" He asked.

Lorelai looked down and let out a breathe. "Hundreds. Maybe thousands." She answered.

"And how many of them have been corrupt?" He asked

"Not many…" She said.

"In fact, with the exception of the police from your hometown have you come across any corrupt law enforcement?" He asked

"No Sir…" She said

"Just because someone's son has a criminal record does not mean they have done anything wrong themselves." He told her

Lorelai didn't say anything. She just nodded

Hotch shook his head again. "This conversation is far from over, but we have work to do. Call Garcia and find out if she has found anything on any of our other suspects." He told her before he left the room.

"Yes Sir." She said. When he left, she took a breathe and called Garcia.

"Hello, my favorite mini agent. What do you need?" She asked in her chipper upbeat personality

"Well, I am guessing you can't rewind time, so I guess just what have you found on our suspects?" She asked her.

"Honestly I haven't found anything. They all are clean. The only one with a record is Todd Collins and I don't know what that is." She said

Lorelai sighed. "Its not something that would make -anyone think they did this."

"Oh. Okay. Any new suspects?" Garcia asked

"No. You have checked everyone. All guest, employees the owner?" Lorelai asked

"Of course. I don't leave things out." Garcia said.

"I know. I'm sorry." Davies told Garcia

"It's okay. Are you okay?" Garcia asked softly.

"No. But I don't have time to think about that. Thanks Garcia. I will let you know if we get more that could help." She hung up and texted Hotch. 'None of the suspects have a record.'

Hotch got the text and went into the room. "Okay. Well, there unfortunately is a new family whose home has been broken into. We are heading there. Lets go."

Lorelai got up and went with him. The team all went out to the crime scene.

When they got there Hotch looked at Lorelai and JJ. "You two go talk to the two daughters. Reid go and talk to the son. Prentiss the ambulance is about to leave with the mother you should go with her. Rossi you can talk to the husband. Morgan and I will start looking around." He told them all the game plan. They all went to do what they were instructed.

Lorelai sat down with the younger daughter. "Hey. I'm Lorelai. I'm with the FBI. I know what you have been through tonight is very scary. I'm so sorry that has happened to you. You are safe now. I just need to ask you a few questions. Okay?" She asked the young girl softly.

The little girl shook her head holding her stuffed animal in her hands.

"You know when I was your age, I had a stuffed bear. He made me feel safe whenever I hugged him tight. Maybe if you hug your bunny tight it will make you feel safe enough to talk to me?" She suggested

The little girl hugged her bunny tight and nodded.

"Did the person who broke in come into your room?" She asked

The little girl nodded. "He took my new picture." She said pointing to the wall where there was a large blank spot.

"Were did you get the picture from?" She asked

"My mommy and daddy bought it from me a few days ago." She told Lorelai

Lorelai nodded. "Did the man know you were awake?"

She nodded. "He looked at me and told me to be quiet or he would take my bunny." She said softly.

Lorelai nodded. "I am sorry sweetheart. No one is going to take your bunny from you." She told her. "Did he say or do anything else while in your room?" Lorelai asked

The little girl shook her head. "He just left."

"Did you hear anything else?" Lorelai asked

"I heard my mommy crying. But I was too scared to go see why." She said

"That's okay. I would be scared too." Lorelai told her. "Did you hear him leave your house?" She asked

The girl nodded. "He called out he was leaving. And said thank you." She told her as she started to sob.

Lorelai squeezed the girl's hand softly. "We don't have to talk about it anymore." She said softly as the father came in the room.

"You are done talking to my daughter. She has been through enough." He said picking her up and taking her out of the room.

Lorelai got up from where she was sitting and went into the hallway. She saw the dad also taking his other daughter away from JJ. Lorelai met with JJ. "Did you get anything?" She asked.

"No. The unsub never went into her room. She was asleep the whole time." JJ told her. "You?" She asked Davies

"Yes. The unsub a man. Went into her room. She had the art piece on her wall. He took it. Saw that the girl was awake. Told her to be quiet or he would take the stuffed bunny she was sleeping with." Davies told her. "And that she heard him call out before he left that he was leaving and thanked them."

JJ shook her head. "That sounds like someone who thinks he was invited in."

Lorelai nodded. "It sounds like a sick and twisted individual." She said

JJ nodded in agreement before the two of them went to join the others and shared what Agent Davies had been told.

Hotch nodded. "He also took several other pieces from around the home. They seemed to be the ones to buy the most at the auction house that day." He told them.

The team finished up the investigation at the house before heading back to the station. Prentiss had texted Hotch the information she had gotten from the wife but said she was staying with her for the time being. Hotch agreed and told her that was a good idea.

The next twenty-four hours went by like a blur.

The evidence that had been sent to the crime lab exposed the unsub. He had made a mistake and left some DNA behind. The DNA was in the system, and it wasn't much longer before they had the man in custody. It didn't take Hotch long to get the man to break and confess all his sins.

It was a few hours after the interrogation, and everyone was doing their paperwork in the conference room. The room was silent except for the occasional cup of coffee being placed back down on the table when someone took a sip of their cup.

Hotch looked at the time. "Okay. We need to get headed back. We can finish up on the jet. Be there in an hour." He told them. As he grabbed his stuff and headed out of the room. The rest of the team did the same grabbing their documents before heading out.

An hour later they were on the jet heading back to DC. Lorelai was working on her paperwork in the back on her own before Spencer sat down across from her putting a bottle of water in front of her.

Lorelai looked up and open it and took a few sips. "Thanks."

Spencer nodded. "Did you lie to me?" He asked her

Lorelai swallowed hard and leaned her head back looking up at the roof of the jet.

Spencer wasn't going to ask again. He was just going to give her a chance to answer.

After a few moment of silence Lorelai looked back across from her to Spencer. "Yes." She answered softly.

Spencer nodded. "I don't know exactly what happened I just know you weren't in the bathroom. Care to share?" He asked

"I don't know if I should. What I can say is I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lied." She said

Spencer nodded. "I think that if this relationship is going to work, we both need to be honest. Lying doesn't make for a healthy relationship." He told her.

"I know. You're right. I was in the file room. Looking into the criminal record of Todd Collins." She told him softly.

"Why?" He asked

"You know why. Corrupt cops infuriate me." She said

"Was Officer Collins corrupt?" Spencer asked.

"No…" She answered

"I'm taking it Hotch knows?" He asked

"Yes." Lorelai told him

Spencer nodded. "Lie to me again and we will have problems." He told her

"I wont do it again. I'm sorry." She told him

Spencer nodded. "Finish that water." He told her

Lorelai smiled and did as she was told.

When they landed Hotch told everyone that they needed to be at the office tomorrow morning at 9am.

They all went their own ways and went home. When Aaron and Lorelai got home, he let the sitter go before he looked at Lorelai. "Do you want to deal with it tonight or tomorrow at the office?" He asked her.

Lorelai sighed. "I don't know… I am so tired. But I don't know I will sleep otherwise." Tears started to stream down her face.

Aaron took a breathe and pulled her into a hug. "Go take a shower. We will talk after." He said

Lorelai did as she was told and went to shower. She stood there with her eyes shut just letting the hot water hit her sore muscles. When she was done, she changed into her pajamas. She went out to the kitchen and started her tea.

Aaron came into the room after checking on the two kids who were both asleep.

"The shower help you make a decision?" He asked

She nodded. "It was a work thing. It should be dealt with there."

"Okay. Be at the office tomorrow 8am." He said

Lorelai nodded and had her tea before going to bed.
