A few weeks had passed since all the drama at the Hotchner house. Everything had gone back to normal. Lorelai had noticed that Hotch kept looking at the old case file and she was getting curious. It was late Saturday night Rachel and Jack were asleep. Lorelai had woken up and went to get some water when she noticed the light in the living room on. It was where Aaron had his office space. Lorelai got her water and went to the living room.

"Looking at the same cold case?" She asked

Aaron looked up. "Its late why are you up?" He asked

Lorelai held up the water. "What's your excuse?" She asked

Aaron smirked. "Fair enough."

"Can I look? Maybe a pair of fresh eyes will help?" She suggested

Aaron nodded and handed her the file.

Lorelai sat down on the couch and looked through it.

Aaron went to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee. He came back into the room about twenty minutes later. "Anything jump out at you?" He asked

"They all went to the same highschool. But all moved away afterwards. I mean yes people go away to college but none of them went to college they just all moved away from their hometown to all different parts of the same state?" She questioned

"Yes. But it was a large school. They graduated from five different years. Some of them didn't even know each other." He said

"But they probably all knew the unsub. Another student?" She suggested

"That was looked into. But no one who went to school with all of the victims seemed to fit the profile." Aaron said

"Well. It would have had to be someone who was in grade nine the same time as the oldest victims were in grade twelve." She said

"But than they wouldn't have been there for the two youngest's grade nine year." He told her

"Unless he failed a year." Lorelai pointed out

"We looked into that too. It was a good school. Very few students failed at all. Only one did during the time frame that would make sense. And she couldn't have done it." Aaron told her

"What about a teacher?" Lorelai suggested "Or another staff member?" she added

Aaron nodded. "That was looked into too. No one fit the profile."

Lorelai sighed. "Any suspects that did make sense?" She asked

Aaron shook his head.

"I can see why it's a cold case." She said. "Why the sudden interest in relooking into it?" She asked

"One of the victims mother. Has been diagnosed with cancer. She has less than a year to live. She called and asked me to solve her son's murder before she died." He said

Lorelai nodded. "Why you? You weren't team lead at the time." She said

"No. But I am now. And the former lead is retired." He said

Lorelai nodded "Can you get the director to authorize the team to go through it again? Go talk to the victim's families again? See if anyone remembers anything new?" She suggested

"He denied it. We have to many new cases." He said.

Lorelai nodded. "I see…well than how do we have any time off between cases?" She asked

"He's the boss." Aaron pointed out.

Lorelai smirked. "But you want to go over his head."

"Lorelai. Whether I like it or not I follow the orders of my boss." He told her

She nodded. "I understand."

"You should go back to bed." He told her

Lorelai nodded and handed him back the file. She got up and went back to bed.

Lorelai got up very early Monday morning. She wanted to get to the office before Hotch. She was going to do something that she probably shouldn't. But she remembered the quote by Admiral Grace Hopper 'its better to seek forgiveness than ask permission.' She left before anyone else in the family was even up. She went into the office and put her gun, badge, and wallet in her desk before going up to the director's office. She knocked on the door.

"Yes." She heard. She went into the office. "Hello director." She said

"Agent Davies what can I do for you?" He asked

"I was hoping you would approve the team to look into cold case file #73421" She said.

The director typed the file number into his computer and raised an eyebrow. "I already told Agent Hotchner no to that." He told her

"Yes sir, I know. But I hoped that maybe you have reconsidered." Lorelai said

"Does Agent Hotchner know you're here?" the director asked

"No Sir he doesn't." Lorelai said

The director nodded.

"Look. You brought me into the FBI for some reason. I haven't been the perfect Agent I know that. But I have helped solve countless cases and I don't know the exact reason you told Agent Hotchner no. And no, I'm certainly not asking you why because its not my business. If you say no I of course will respect that and promise never to bring it up again but the mother of one of the victims in this case is dying and I'm sure it would help her to have some closure before she goes." She told him

The director nodded. "I have heard that. Yes. I have a question for you though." He said

"Okay." She said

"Why would you think that I would agree to it for you when I haven't for Agent Hotchner? He asked

"I hoped that if a second agent shows interest it might make you reconsider." She said

The director nodded. "You're taking a big risk Agent Davies."

"I know. While Agent Hotchner doesn't know I am here I am doing this for him. He has taken a lot of great risks for me. And has done a lot in general for me. This is the least I can do." She said

The director nodded. "I will think about it. I'll let Agent Hotchner know if I approve it." He told her.

"Thank You Director." She said. She left his office and went downstairs to the squad room and to her desk.

Before long the rest of the team showed up. Hotch said good morning as he passed their desks and headed up to his office. Lorelai could feel her stomach in her throat. Had she done the right thing, or had she just screwed up, again?

Thirty minutes later Hotch came back downstairs. "Jet in thirty minutes. We have a time sensitive case." He told them

They all grabbed their things and went. They got on the jet and started off.

"We have been approved to reinvestigate the cold case in California." Hotch told them. He started to remind them of the case. They all discussed it for awhile before they had discussed all they could. Lorelai got up and went to the back and got some coffee. Hotch got up and went to the back as well.

"Coffee?" Lorelai asked.

Hotch nodded and Lorelai gave him a cup.

"Thank you." He said

Lorelai poured her own before realizing Hotch wasn't going anywhere. "Something wrong?" She asked

"Something you want to tell me Agent Davies?" He asked

Lorelai sighed. "I take it the director told you." She said

"Told me what Agent Davies?" He asked

Lorelai turned and looked at him. "That I went to him and asked him to approve us looking into the case."

Hotch nodded. "He did yes."

Lorelai nodded. "How much trouble am I in?" She asked

"Your not." He said

"What?" She asked

"You didn't do anything wrong. In fact, you just had my back. Just like a team member should. Why would you be in trouble for that?" he asked

"Well because I went behind your back?" She asked

"Any member of this team would have done the same." He said. "Thank you." He went back to his seat.

Lorelai took a breathe before going back to her own seat with her coffee. Spencer looked up at her.

"Are you okay?" He asked

"Yes." She said smiling

"If you say so." He said

When they got to California, they all went where they were ordered. The director had given them 48 hours. If they didn't get any traction in that time, they were to drop it and come home. Hotch took Agent Davies, and they went to talk to the mother of the victim who called Hotch.

They met her at the hospital where she was getting treatment.

"Hello Ms. Sampson." Hotch said

"Agent Hotchner. Hello. What are you doing here?" She asked

"This is Agent Davies. She is our newest agent. We are here because we are relooking into your son's case." He said

"I didn't think you were going to come." She said

"Had to wait till it was approved but we are here." He said

"Agent Hotchner has been looking into your sons' case for weeks. He doesn't usually do that unless he is determined." Lorelai told her

The women smiled. "You look so young."

Lorelai chuckled. "That is the consensus."

"Agent Davies is the youngest agent in FBI history. She is young, but very intelligent. She is a fresh set of eyes." Hotch told the women.

The women nodded. "Of course."

Lorelai smiled. "Is there anything you remember that you forgot to mention or didn't think was relevant?" She asked

Ms. Sampson shook her head. "I told the FBI and the police everything."

Lorelai nodded. "Why did your son choose to move away from here when he graduated highschool?" She asked

"Lots of teens do that." She said. "He was grown. Wanted his own space." Ms. Sampson told her.

"Of course. But he was very smart. He didn't want to go to college?" Lorelai asked

"No. He didn't." She said starting to sound a little annoyed.

Hotch stepped in "I know its hard. We just need to know everything." He said sympathetically

"You know everything." She said calmly

"The file said he didn't really know any of the other victims. Was that correct?" Lorelai ask

"They went to school together, but they weren't friends." She said coldly towards Lorelai

Lorelai could sense that she was not helping the situation. So, she excused herself from the room.

Agent Hotchner looked at Ms. Sampson. "Did he know any of them personally?" He asked her

"No." She insisted.

Hotch nodded. "Okay. Thank you for your time. I will let you get some rest." He left the room and went to where Lorelai was waiting.

"Don't take it personally. She was like that with pretty much every agent and officer." He told her

Lorelai nodded. "But not you." She said

"Nope. I guess we built a good repour." He said

Lorelai nodded again biting her tongue to keep from smirking.

They left the hospital and went towards the police station.

"Hotch. Did she trust any agent besides you?" She asked

"No. Not really." He said

"Hotch. She likes you." Lorelai told him.

Hotch raised an eyebrow "Really. I think I would be able to tell that."

"Hotch. She didn't trust any other agent. She was cold towards me. I was a threat in her eyes." Lorelai told him

"A threat for what?" He asked

"To keeping you apart. If I took over talking to her and you stopped, she wouldn't get to see you again." She said.

Hotch shook his head. "Your wrong."

"If you say so Sir." Lorelai said

They got to the police station where JJ had the conference room set up.

Hotch went to talk to the police chief and Lorelai sat with JJ and started working on updating the profile.

"JJ. Did you ever meet Ms. Sampson?" Lorelai asked

"Briefly." JJ responded.

"I'm not nuts right? She has a thing for Hotch?" Lorelai asked

"You're not nuts no. There is a reason Hotch got the most out of her. Although we all think she is hiding something." JJ told her

"Yeah. I can sense that too." Lorelai agreed. "Maybe we should send someone else to talk to her." Lorelai added.

"Good luck convincing Hotch of that." JJ said

"I think someone else would be better at doing that." Lorelai said.

"Not me." JJ said.

"No. Not you. Rossi." Lorelai said

JJ nodded in agreement.

The team all continued to work on the case. Lorelai did ask Rossi if he would talk to Hotch. Yes, technically Hotch was the lead agent however she knew Rossi had trained Hotch at one point and Lorelai knew he could still be intimidated by Rossi if Rossi tried.

Rossi nodded. "I will see what I can do." He went and pulled Hotch aside and spoke to him. "Several members of the team are concerned. They are concerned that Ms. Sampson might be keeping something to herself. And also concerned that she might have feelings for you. Maybe I should be talking to her from now on." He suggested.

"Several agents? Rossi, I know its one particular agent." He said

"No. Its several. Aaron. I thought it when we were here last time so did the other agents and even a few officers. You need to let someone else take over talking to her. Maybe not me. How about Prentiss? She wasn't here than. Someone new." He suggested

"Fine. I think you are all reading the situation wrong however I will let Prentiss go talk to her. For now." Hotch told him.

Hotch went and talked to Prentiss. "Take Agent Davies with you." He said

Prentiss and Davies went back to the hospital. "Hello Ms. Sampson. This is Agent Prentiss. We wanted to ask you a few more questions." Lorelai told her.

"Where is Agent Hotchner?" Ms. Sampson asked

"He is currently talking to some of the suspects. He sent us to talk to you." Agent Prentiss told her

"Oh. Well, I'm not feeling well right now." She said

Emily nodded. "I know this is hard. But we just want to find your son's murderer. You called Agent Hotchner to help. This is how we all can help you get the closure you need." Prentiss told her.

"Just ask your questions." Ms. Sampson said with hostility.

"What have you not to the FBI or police?" Agent Davies said firmly

"Nothing!" Ms. Sampson said

"Ms. Sampson. We are trained agents. We know when people aren't being fully honest." Prentiss said calmly.

"Well than you need to update your training." Ms. Sampson told them.

Lorelai took a breathe. "Ms. Sampson, do you want us to find your son's murderer?" She asked calmly

"Of course, I do." She said narrowing her eyes at Lorelai.

"Than help us." Lorelai said. "Tell us what you're holding back." She added

"You know. This is why I only like talking to Agent Hotchner he is the only one who doesn't think I am hiding something." Ms. Sampson said

Emily tilted her head. "He sent us here for a reason." She said softly

"Yeah because of -you. You thought I was hiding something and convinced him to let you come back." Ms. Sampson said looking at Lorelai.

Lorelai shook her head with a smile. "Nope. Trust me. I have no pull over his decisions. He sent Agent Prentiss and sent me along because we have met."

"Well, why didn't he just come than?" Ms. Sampson asked

Lorelai took a breathe. "Because he thought you might be more open to two women." She said

"Now you're the one lying." Ms. Sampson said with a smile.

"So, you are holding something back?" Prentiss said

Ms. Sampson went silent.

Lorelai sighed. "Fine. I told him the only reason you would only talk to him was because you have an attraction to him. And I'm not the only Agent who thinks that. Several others saw that when they were here before." She said.

"Why would you do that?" Ms. Sampson asked

"Because your son is not the only victim." She told her firmly "If we are going to find out who did this, we need ever bit of information and I -don't think Agent Hotchner would have gotten it out of you." Lorelai said

"We just want to find the person who committed these crimes and get you and all the other families closure." Prentiss told her. "So, what did you leave out?" She asked again

Ms. Sampson let out a breathe. "His father. Is not a good man. He is married. He slept with a lot of women. Me included. I don't know for sure he fathered all the victims. But he fathered at least some of them for sure." She told them.

Lorelai took a breathe. "Who is he?" She asked

"His name is George. George Gibbons." She said

"Gibbons. There is a Daniel Gibbons who was a victim." Prentiss said

"Yeah. His dad." Ms. Sampson said

"That is a pretty big piece of information to leave out." Prentiss said. "Why did you not say anything?" She asked

"Because I didn't think it mattered. I know he didn't do this." Ms. Sampson said.

"Maybe not but maybe someone who knows him and knows what he did wanted revenge." Lorelai said

Ms. Sampson closed her eyes. "You got your information now leave." She said. "And don't come back. If you find out, who did it, I only want to see Agent Hotchner."

Davies and Prentiss got up and left. "What is it with people keeping these things secret?" Lorelai asked

"I remember the last time something like this came up. Remember what I said. These parents are victims too." Prentiss told her

"No. I don't care. How many victims would have been saved if she opened her damn mouth and told the truth?" Lorelai asked

"Agent Davies. Do I need to talk to Hotch?" She asked

"Do what ever you need to, but I am not going to be nice about it." She said

"Come on Davies. You know better." Prentiss said

"How many of the mothers of these kids choose not to tell anyone this. He is the link. Whether he did the actually crime or someone did it to get back at him he is the reason it happened." Lorelai said

"No. We don't know that for sure. Just because he fathered of a few doesn't mean he fathered them all." Prentiss told her

"Well, we will be finding out for sure." Lorelai told her

"Yes. That we will. But lets not judge." Prentiss told her.

"Oh, I'm judging." Lorelai responded

They climbed into the car. "But you'll keep it to yourself." Prentiss told her

"I'll try." Davies told the older agent

"Call Hotch. We are going to need to talk to all the victim's families again." Prentiss told her.

Lorelai called Hotch and explained to him what they found out and asked what they should do next.

Hotch listened to the new information, and he could hear in Lorelai's voice that she was not impressed.

"We need to speak to all the families again." He told them. "Agent Davies. Are you going to be able to keep your opinion in check?" He asked

Lorelai sighed. "Yes Sir." She said

He told them which families to speak to. He sent Morgan, JJ, Rossi and himself to speak with the other families. The three pairs went and found out that the man in question was the biological father of all the victims.

Morgan & Hotch were the ones who went to talk to Mr. Gibbons

"Did you know you were the biological father?" Morgan asked

"I didn't know for sure, but I thought it was a possibility." Mr. Gibbons told them

"And you didn't think that might be relevant?" Hotch asked him.

"I didn't think it had anything to do with it. I figured it was someone the boys went to school with." Mr. Gibbons told them

"And when we determined that was not likely the case and some of them don't even know each other. You didn't think maybe you are the link?" Morgan asked.

"No, I didn't." Mr. Gibbons told them

"Well now you know. Who would know that you were the biological father of all these boys? And are there any others that could be at risk?" Hotch asked

Mr. Gibbons shook his head. "I told no one. If the women all figured it out, I suppose maybe they told people."

"No. They didn't even tell the police or FBI years ago. I doubt they told anyone." Hotch told him

"Well, I don't know who would know. And no there is no one else. I may have slept with a lot of women in a short period of time but the ones who I potentially father a child with. They were all the boys who unfortunately were killed." He said

"Did you tell your wife?" Morgan asked

"No. She didn't know till just now." Mr. Gibbons told them. "Look I realize I made some mistakes but that shouldn't be the reason those boys were murdered." He said

Hotch nodded. "Unless you were involved in their murder which I do not think you were you are not responsible. It is not your fault." He told Mr. Gibbons

"Anyone you ever had an issue with who might want to get back at you to this level?" Morgan asked

"I'm not going to say I have never pissed anyone off I know I have but no one that would do something like this." Mr. Gibbons told them.

"Well give us a list of the people who might have a grudge against you, and we will look into it." Hotch told him.

Meanwhile Prentiss was getting annoyed with Agent Davies. She wasn't outwardly being judgemental, but her tone of voice implied it. Rossi and JJ called and checked in with them to see what they had found out and to share what they had learned so far.

Rossi and JJ could sense the tension between Prentiss and Davies.

"Why do you two sound like you want to kill each other?" JJ asked

"Agent Davies isn't very good at keeping her tone in check when she has a negative opinion on something." Prentiss told JJ

"Agent Davies. What exactly are you doing?" Rossi asked her

"I am not saying anything negative. I have opinions but I am not sharing them." Lorelai told him

"No. You're not -saying anything, but your tone of voice is." Prentiss said

Lorelai didn't say anything.

"Agent Davies. Do you need to switch places with Reid at the station?" Rossi asked

"No Sir." Agent Davies said letting out a breathe.

"Than check the tone. No matter the reason these people have lost their sons I'm sure the guilt is eating at them enough without you adding to it. Am I clear?" Rossi asked her

"Yes Sir." Lorelai repeated

They finished their conversation before hanging up and going talk to the next families.

A few hours later they all went back to the police station. When they got back there Rossi took Lorelai aside. "I am going to ask you first." He said. "Did the tone change?"

Lorelai took a breathe. "Yes. I think so anyways. Agent Prentiss didn't say anything to me." She told him.

"Had she said something before we spoke?" He asked

Lorelai looked down. "Yes Sir…"

"Lorelai. Is there a reason that you don't listen to Agent Prentiss?" He asked

She shrugged. "No. I don't think so."

"Well, you should figure that out. She has a lot more experience than you and she's trying to have your back. Because how do you think Hotch will feel if we had to tell him?" Rossi asked

"He would not be impressed…" She said. "I get it. I'll fix it." She said

"Good. Because if we have this conversation again it wont end in a way you like." Rossi warned her

Lorelai nodded. "Got it." She said

The two went back to the conference room and everyone shared what they had found out. The next few hours were spent figuring out the new profile. The new information they now had changed things. These boys were all connected even if -they didn't know -someone knew and someone hated Mr. Gibbons enough to hurt him to an extreme level.

They delivered the new profile to the police who than went out to do their assigned task. The team also went to do their assigned tasks.

Later that day Lorelai was alone in the conference room and one of the victims mother's came in with an officer. "She said she wanted to talk to you." The officer told her.

"Of course. Thanks officer." She said. She got up and went with her. She didn't want her to have to see the photos on the board in the room, so she led her to another room. "Can I do something for you?" Lorelai asked her sympathetically.

"When you an Agent Prentiss came to talk to me. I could sense you had an opinion. Is this my fault?" She asked in tears.

Lorelai's heart broke. "No. It is not your fault. I'm so sorry. I should have been better at hiding my opinions. Your son's murder is -not your fault. The choices you made over twenty-years ago should not make someone do that to your son. I do not blame you. No one blames you." She told her. "I'm so sorry that I made you feel that way." She added.

The women nodded.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" Lorelai asked

"Just find out who did this." The women said

"I promise we are doing -everything we can." Lorelai assured her.

The women nodded. "Can I ask you a question unrelated to the case?"

"You can ask. Cant promise I will answer." Lorelai said

"How old are you?" The mother asked

Lorelai chuckled. "I'm eighteen. And yes, I am the youngest FBI agent in the history of the FBI." She told her.

"You must be very intelligent." She said

Lorelai nodded. "I've always done well in school."

"Your parents must be so proud of you." She told her.

"Its just my dad and I hope so." Lorelai told her. "And if your son had lived I am sure he would have made you very proud." She added

The women nodded and got up. "Well, I should get out of here and let you do your job." She said

Lorelai got up also. She noticed Hotch standing there but ignored it for the moment. She walked the women out before going back to the conference room where Hotch was now waiting.

"How much did you hear?" Lorelai asked

"All of it." He informed her

She sat down and put her head in her hands. "I get it now I really do. Trust me I wont make that mistake again…" She told her boss

Hotch nodded "I -am proud of you by the way." He said

Lorelai smiled a bit. "Really? Because at this moment I'm not proud of myself."

"You made a mistake you rectified it." He told her

She took a breathe. "She wasn't the only one…"

"Okay. But will it ever happen again?" He asked

"No. it wont." Lorelai told him

"If you happen to see the other mothers again you can apologize otherwise just move on." Hotch told her.

Lorelai nodded and her phone rang. She answered it. "Agent Davies." She said into her phone. She listened for a few second before she hung up. She looked up at Hotch. "That was one of the victim's sisters. She said she might know something."

Hotch nodded. "Go. I will send Prentiss to meet you." He said. Lorelai went to the house she texted Prentiss that she was there and would be going inside. She received a text back 'do not go in without me.' from Prentiss but she decided to ignore it. She went and knocked on the door.

The door was opened by the sister and Lorelai was invited in.

"What do you know?" Lorelai asked her as they sat down.

"I know who did it…" She said

Lorelai looked at her. "What? Who?" She asked

"My mother…" She said

"What? What makes you think that?" She asked

"Mr. Gibbons was paying her since my brother was born and than he stopped when my brother turned eighteen. He had originally promised to pay for college if he wanted to go but he said no when the time came. My mother was furious. She decided to get revenge. She started killing them. Than my brother found out and was going to tell the police and she killed him." The girl told Lorelai

Lorelai looked around. "Where is your mother now?" She asked

"The store." The girl said

"Okay. We need to get you out of here." Lorelai said getting up

The girl got up to go with her when the mother walked in. "Neither of you are going anywhere." She said

"Ms. Henderson. How are you?" She said trying to diffuse the situation.

"I heard everything." Ms. Henderson told them.

Lorelai put the girl behind her. "Okay. Well than maybe its time for you to come clean." She said putting her hand on her gun and silently praying Prentiss would hurry up and get here.

"Nope. I'm going to have to figure out what to do with you two instead. I'm not going to prison for this." She said

Lorelai nodded. "My team knows I'm here. Even if you kill me and your daughter, they will still figure it out." She said

"I will figure out how to blame someone else." Ms. Henderson told her taking a gun out of her bag.

Lorelai took her gun out as well and pointed it towards the women. "Okay. Look. I get it. Mr. Gibbons was an ass. Sleeping with a bunch of women and than paying them to keep quiet. I get why you hated him. But your daughter. Didn't do anything wrong." Lorelai said

"She betrayed me. Told you." The older women said

"She was scared. You killed her brother, and you have a gun pointed towards us can you see why she might be worried that she was next?" Lorelai asked

"I would never kill her." Ms. Henderson said.

"Than put the gun down." Lorelai said. That's when there was a knock at the door.

"Who is that?" Ms. Henderson asked

"Probably my partner." Lorelai said.

"I thought you were alone!" Ms. Henderson yelled.

"I was. She just got here." Lorelai said.

The doorbell rang next.

"Look. If we don't let her in, she's going to know something is very wrong. She will shoot your door and get in." Davies told her.

"Let her." Ms. Henderson said.

"If she does that, she will come in here ready to shoot. It will be you against two highly trained FBI agents." Lorelai said

"Ha. You're a baby. How are you highly trained?" Ms. Henderson said.

That's when Prentiss came in from the back of the house. "Trust me. She is highly trained." She said putting her gun directly against her head.

Ms. Henderson knew she was done. She let her gun go and gave it to Agent Davies. Lorelai put her own gun away and took the gun from the older women. Prentiss took her cuffs out and cuffed the women. Lorelai quickly got the young girl out of there when she heard the sirens. Prentiss had clearly called the team. When they got there JJ took over with the young girl.

Rossi went over to Lorelai. "Are you okay?" He asked

"Yes." She said.

Prentiss came out with the women in cuffs and Hotch went to help her get her into the back of a car.

Lorelai put the gun in an evidence bag before looking back at Rossi.

"You're sure you're okay?" He asked again

Lorelai nodded "Yes. It was a scary situation, but I think I handled it well and wasn't injured."

Prentiss came over. "What. The hell. Was that? You were supposed to wait for me." Prentiss told her.

"I know. I'm sorry." Agent Davies said. "I didn't think there was a risk. I know I was wrong." She said

Prentiss shook her head and walked away. Now was not the time but she was pissed.

Davies knew she hadn't heard the end of it from Agent Prentiss but now was not the time to think about that.

The next few hours were spent searching the house and finding the evidence they needed to ensure they got their conviction. Morgan & Prentiss had gone back to the station to interrogate Ms. Henderson. Eventually they all made it back to the station. They had contacted CPS to come take the daughter and try to find her somewhere to stay.

When they got back to the station Emily pulled Lorelai into a back office that she knew no one used. "Do you have a death wish Agent Davies, or do you just think you are above everyone, and nothing can happen to you?" Agent Prentiss asked the young Agent.

Lorelai took a breathe. "I didn't know there was a threat there!"

"There is -always a potential threat when you are working a murder case. ALWAYS. That is why we do things as partners. We don't go into unknown situations ALONE." Emily was livid. Lorelai had never seen her like this.

"I get that now. I'm sorry." Lorelai said

"This is not the first time you do something alone. With no backup. You were told to wait for me by not only me but also Hotch!" Emily said

Lorelai looked down. "What do you want me to say? I said I'm sorry. I wont do it again."

Emily shook her head. "That is getting harder, and harder to believe Agent Davies." She said

Lorelai didn't say anything. Emily was still too pissed off. She left the room and passed Agent Rossi in the hall. "Maybe you get knock some sense into that stubborn head of hers." She said as she passed him.

Agent Rossi went into the office and closed the door. "Do you understand why she is so angry?" Rossi asked her.

Lorelai nodded. "Because I ignored her when she told me to wait."

"That's part of it." He said. "Sit down please." He told her pointing to the chair that was in front of him.

Lorelai sat

"Lorelai. You keep making choices that put you in dangerous situations. Without backup. Forget the fact that you ignored several peoples orders to wait for backup and listen to the superior agent in that situation. You -keep risking your life. I heard her ask you if you have a death wish I didn't hear your answer but that's what it seems like to those around you." He said he was very calm but concerned.

"No. I don't have a death wish." Lorelai told him looking him in the eyes.

"Do you think you are invincible?" He asked

"Of course not." Lorelai told him.

"Than please explain why you keep getting yourself in these situations?" He asked

"I didn't see this as a threat…I really didn't know." She told him

"Okay. I can understand that, but you know there has been other situations where you ignored an order to wait and ended up in the hospital. When are you going to realize that even if you don't think there is a threat. We have rules in place to keep our agents safe and one of those rules is you. Always. Have. Backup. Doesn't matter how dangerous the situation is or isn't. You. Always. Have. Backup." He told her. "What need to happen for you to realize that?" He asked

"I-I don't know." She said tears streaming down her face.

Rossi took a breathe. "Do you need to be suspended for it to get through your thick skull?" He asked "Because that's what Agent Hotchner is wondering. You didn't just piss of Emily. You pissed off this entire time. You scared everyone of us."

Lorelai looked at him. "No. Please. Talk him out of that please."

"Why should I? You don't seem to listen to anyone on this team." He pointed out

Lorelai broke down sobbing.

Rossi sighed. He wrapped her in a hug. She needed to calm down before he could continue the conversation. After a few minutes she did calm down.

Rossi continued. "Every member of this team sees you one of three ways. Like their little sister or like their daughter or niece. Or girlfriend in Spencer's eyes. You are an amazing FBI agent. No one doubts that. But you need to stop taking these risks. When Emily got to that house, and you had gone in she was annoyed. When she knocked on the door and no one answered she thought you were inside that house on the ground dead or bleeding out. When she called the team and told them something was wrong we all thought you had to be in danger because you wouldn't open the door. And we were right. Thankfully you weren't dead, but you could have been."

Lorelai nodded. "I am so sorry Rossi."

"I know you say your sorry, but you say that every time. Yet you keep doing the same things. And you cant explain why. It concerns us all. We don't know what your going to do one moment to the next." He pointed out. "And you have been dealt with my Hotch. By Morgan. You have been lectured but everyone and nothing seems to get through your stubbornness." He pointed out

Lorelai didn't say anything she didn't know what to say. Everything he was telling her. He was right. It was starting to dawn on her. She did keep making the same mistakes and no matter what anyone did she kept doing it. "I understand. I don't know why I keep doing it. I honestly don't know." She said

Rossi looked at her. "Do you think maybe taking some time off to figure that out is in order?" He asked

Lorelai shook her head. "No. I need to work. Please no."

"Well ultimately that decision is Hotch's and the director's." Rossi told her

Lorelai groaned. "The directors knows?"

"If he doesn't I'm sure someone will tell him." Rossi said.

Lorelai put her head in her hands.

"Now I made you a promise. And even though I don't know if it will change anything I follow through with my promises." He told her. "I will not be doing it here as I do not want to embarrass you and this room. People will hear but when we are back in DC I want you to be well aware you are in big trouble." He told her.

Lorelai nodded. "Yes sir."

"And you need to fix things with Emily." He told her

Lorelai nodded. "I don't know how to do that, but I will try."

Rossi nodded. "Come on. Lets go." He told her

Lorelai got up and the two of them went back to the conference room to work on paperwork. No one else said a word to her while they worked. After the paperwork was done. Hotch told them to head to the jet in an hour and he left.

Hotch went to the hospital to talk to the victims mother. He got to her room.

"Agent Hotchner. Any news?" She asked

Hotch nodded. "We found the person responsible. She was the mother of one of his children. She wanted revenge because Mr. Gibbons backed out on paying for her sons college tuition." He told her

"Wow. Thank you." She said

"Its my job. Its what I would do for any grieving mother." He told her with a smile

"Of course." She told him

"I hope that you find treatment that will help you beat this." He told her.

"Thank you Agent Hotchner. I hope so too." She said

Hotchner said goodbye before he went to meet his team at the jet.

The rest of the team did as they were told and went out to the jet after grabbing their things. She was at the jet first. Soon after Spencer joined and sat across from her.

"Do you know how worried I was?" he asked

Lorelai took a breathe. She was hoping to avoid a lecture from her boyfriend. "I'm sorry. I know that's hard to believe but I really am. I don't know why I keep doing these things. I am going to work on it and figure it out. All I can say right now is I am really sorry."

Spencer nodded. "Every time you do something risky Lorelai. I get scared. That this future I have in my head, that includes you isn't going to happen."

Lorelai nodded. "Spence…I don't know what to say."

"How about instead of saying sorry. You prove that you are?" He suggested. "Stop ignoring orders and making these risky choices"

Lorelai nodded. "I promise I am going to try."

Spencer nodded and hugged her tight.

Emily was next on the plane, and she sat away from the two of them. Lorelai looked at Spencer who gave her a gentle nudge towards her telling her to do what she knows she has to. Lorelai went over to Emily.

"I know you're beyond angry with me. I know I screwed up. Rossi helped me realize that I don't know why I keep doing the same thing over again, but I promise I am going to try and figure it out. I want you to know I didn't do this because of anything you did. This is my fault not yours. I'm so sorry. I understand I scared you. I also know that scared is a feeling you don't like to feel. I get that. I think that might be part of my problem. I want to seem tougher than I really am. But that's not an excuse to do what I did and what I keep doing. I know I'm going to have to earn your trust back and I hope I can do that because I would be devastated if I lost your friendship permanently." She told Emily

Emily listened to what she said and could admit what Lorelai was saying about her feeling scared was true. "Come sit." She told Lorelai.

Lorelai sat across from her.

"You're right I reacted the way I did because I got scared that I could have lost you. This team could have lost you." Emily told her.

"I know." Lorelai said. "I cant begin to apologize enough for it." She said

Emily nodded. "Okay. I hear your apology. I don't think you are saying your sorry simply because you have a lot of people angry with you right now. I truly believe you mean it. But your going to have to show you are making changes before we can begin to fix this friendship. I will 100% always have your back. That hasn't changed. But you are right you will have to earn my trust and friendship back." Emily told her.

Lorelai nodded. "I can do that. And I know you might not trust this right now, but I do have your back 100% too."

Emily nodded.

Everyone else got to the plane shortly after. The headed home. Not much was said on the plane everyone was still reeling about what had happened and how close they came to losing one of their Agents.
