Lorelai went into her therapists office the following morning. She knew she needed to figure this out and that maybe her therapist could help her.

She sat in the room on the couch deep in through. She was having a hard time figuring out how to explain to her therapist what was going on. Her therapist was just sitting there waiting for her to talk.

Lorelai took a breathe.

"A situation came up at work. My -entire team is livid at me. I screwed up. I seem to keep screwing up making the same mistakes. I apologize and in those moments I do think I'm sorry but than I keep doing them again and putting my life at risk." She told her therapist

Her therapist nodded. "I see. Do you have any idea why you do it?" She asked

Lorelai shook her head. "No. That's the problem. I didn't see the pattern but after being yelled at or lectured by half my team and the other half basically not talking to me I am starting to see the pattern."

"Can you explain what happened this most recent time?" The therapist asked

Lorelai nodded. "I got a call. Someone saying they had information about the murders we were trying to solve. Agent Hotchner told me to go and that he was going to send Agent Prentiss to meet me to talk to this person. But I got there first and decided I didn't need to wait despite her telling me to wait too so I ignore Agent Prentiss and went into this house. Turns out that what this person knew was that her mother was the murderer and then her mother showed up having heard enough to know what was going on and had a gun. Thankfully I was able to keep her from doing anything stupid till Agent Prentiss showed up and saved my ass, but she was pissed. Understandably. And this wasn't the first time I ignored a direct order and put myself in danger. I ended up in the hospital one time because of it." She said. "And every time I get lectured and deal with the consequences, but I keep doing it." She added

The therapist nodded. "You trust your team correct?"

"Yes. I trust them with my life." Lorelai said

The therapist nodded.

"And I don't go into the situations thinking it is dangerous, but I break the rules every time I do. I know the word suspension has been thrown around which means I am in more trouble than I have ever been in because Agent Hotchner avoids suspensions unless its last resort." She said

"That is tricky. Do you think a suspension would get the point across?" The therapist asked

"I think the point has gotten across already. And I know I'm in for more lectures when I go in today." Lorelai told her.

"Do you think because of your past with adults always being abusive you have a hard time listening to authority figures. Even though you -know you can trust them?" The therapist asked

Lorelai thought about that. "I don't know. Maybe. I'm sure that whatever it is it has something to do with my past."

"Maybe because you feel secure in your place in your family and know that while yes you will be in trouble you wont ever lose your family and you wont ever be abused makes you feel safe to break these rules that put you in these situations." She said

Lorelai sighed. "At the moment I think I am at risk of losing some of my family. I know I have lost trust from most if not all of my team." She said

"Do you think maybe that's what is causing you to try and figure out what is going on. You don't want to lose them? And you want to fix this?" The therapist asked

Lorelai nodded. "I'm sure that is part of it at least. I also realized I don't have a death wish and if I keep making these choices that lead me into dangerous situations that next time someone might not get there in time."

The therapist nodded. "Did you think you had a death wish?"

Lorelai shook her head. "No. I was just asked that a couple times because of my choices."

The therapist nodded again. "I think you need to journal about all this. Seeing everything written down can help us recognize things and can help us work through what's happening in our self consciousness. Things we don't realize we are doing and why we are doing them."

Lorelai nodded.

"How are things with Spencer?" The therapist asked

"Oh, he's pissed at me too. He's one of the ones that lectured me. Told me every time I do something like I did, he gets scared he sees the future that he wants with me going away." Lorelai told her "I guess that's one biproduct of working with your boyfriend in such a high stress job. You screw up they know." She added.

The therapist agreed. "Its why usually the FBI doesn't allow dating within."

"Yeah. I am beginning to understand that. Not that I don't still want to be with Spencer just that I need to think before I make stupid choices." Lorelai told her.

"You think you should maybe do that anyway?" the therapist asked

"Yeah. I should. I know" Lorelai said

They finished up the hour. Lorelai thanked her and left.

She went to her own office. She put her stuff in her desk before Morgan came over to her.

"The Director is in Hotch's office. They both want to speak to you." He told her

Lorelai took a breathe. "Well, I'm either getting suspended or fired." She said

"You don't know that." Morgan told her. "But if you do get suspended you know why." He told her

"I know. Saying I fucked up doesn't even begin to cover it." She said. She grabbed her gun and badge and went up the stairs and knocked on Hotch's door.

"Enter" She heard from Hotch before she went in. "I was told you both wanted to see me." She said

"Have a seat Agent Davies." The director told her

Lorelai sat.

"You understand why we are here correct?" The director asked

"Yes Sir. I have made numerous stupid decisions that have put my safety and the safety of my team at risk. I know how badly I have screwed up. I understand there are consequences for my actions and will accept them no matter what they are." She said

"We have discussed suspension." The director told her.

"I understand." Lorelai said taking her gun and badge out and putting them on the table.

"We discussed it didn't say its what has been decided." The director told her.

"Oh?" She asked

"Agent Hotchner has assured me that this will -not happen again. And if it does he himself will fire you." The director told her.

Lorelai nodded. "I see."

"Would you rather the suspension?" The director asked.

Lorelai sighed. "No. But I want to make sure that Agent Hotchner is not going to have to deal with the fallout of my mistakes." She said

The director nodded. "Agent Hotchner is not in any trouble either way. And I am impressed you would be willing to take the hit for him."

"These mistakes were made by me. Just like I'm not responsible for the choices of others no one is responsible for mine. And I know of a past situation where he put his neck on the line for me risking his career. I do not want that to happen again." She said

The director chuckled. "You found out about that huh? Well, that was not my choice. He put that on the table and in that situation clearly he was right. You didn't make the wrong choices on that particular case. But that was than this is now. The only person whose career will be affected if you choose to ignore the rules or ignore an order from a superior agent again is yours."

Lorelai nodded. "I understand sir."

The director said goodbye and left the office. Lorelai looked up at Hotch. "I'm assuming he means all the rules…" she said softly

Hotch smiled. "He knows about you and Spencer he doesn't care. As long as you both are professional at work that rule doesn't apply."

Lorelai nodded.

"Now I think Agent Rossi is expecting you in his office." He said.

Lorelai nodded she grabbed her gun and badge off the table and walked down the hall to the open door of Rossi's office. She knocked just to get his attention.

Rossi looked up. "Agent Davies, come on in. And close the door behind you." He said.

Lorelai did as she was instructed.

"You have been lectured enough not just by me, but I know by others. So, lets just get to the consequences." He told her

Lorelai nodded.

Rossi went into his desk and pulled out a hairbrush and set it on his desk. "Come here." He told her.

Lorelai took a deep breathe before she went over to him.

He pulled her over his lap quickly and removed the clothing protecting her backside. He started bringing his hand down on her exposed butt quickly and firmly. He was not going easy on her. Although it was -his first time handing out her punishment he knew that both Hotch and Morgan had dealt with her for this exact situation. He knew how close she came to losing her career and her life he was not going to go easy on her.

Lorelai was surprised how quickly her butt started to burn. And how quickly she started to tear up but that didn't seem to matter he just kept giving her butt swat after swat. He continued till she was sobbing, and he took a breathe. "I am going to make sure that you understand just how serious this is. How serious I take it when someone I consider to be my family takes risks that puts their lives in jeopardy" he told her as he picked up the hairbrush.

He started bringing the hairbrush down on her already sore backside. Lorelai yelped and sobbed out just how sorry she was. But Rossi had a number in his head that he was giving her, and he was not going to change that. After a dozen with the hairbrush, he set it down and fixed her clothing before sitting her up and holding her close as she sobbed.

Lorelai sobbed for a good five minutes not just from the discomfort of the hairbrush but also from realizing just how lucky she was to have as many people that she did who were willing to take the time and deal with her when she screwed up. When she was calm Rossi helped her to stand.

"You okay?" He asked

Lorelai nodded.

"Have a seat." He told her

Lorelai did. Biting her tongue to keep from yelping.

"Have you given any thought to why you keep doing this?" He asked

Lorelai nodded. "I talked with my therapist just this morning about it. The only thing that we figured out that maybe it is, and I don't even know is that. Maybe because in my past all the 'authority figures' were abusive and such that maybe I have a hard time listening to authority figures now even thought I trust them."

Rossi nodded.

"Because I do trust you all. With my life." She said definitively

Rossi nodded and smiled. "I know. I don't think you would allow any of us to spank you if you didn't."

Lorelai chuckled. "Nope. Probably not."

"You should get to work. I know you have a pile of paperwork waiting for you." He told her.

Lorelai smiled and nodded and went downstairs to her desk where she put her gun and badge back in her top drawer.

"Not fired or suspended than I guess?" Morgan asked

"No. Just cant screw up like that again or I am fired." She said.

Morgan nodded.

Lorelai sat down and a small whimper came out as she sat harder than anticipated on her sore butt.

JJ looked at her sympathetically. She knew she had just come from Rossi's office and when she sat she figured out what had just happened. JJ knew how hard Rossi had gone on her in the past and she knew that he would not have gone any easier on Lorelai either.

Lorelai noticed her looking and faked a smile. She was already done with this day, but she had a lot of hours to go till she could go home.

She started on her paperwork. Working in silence
