It had been six weeks since Lorelai had been hurt the first few days after had been really tough for her. She had gotten scolded a few times when she tried to get coffee but after the few days without when she could drink caffeine again she was less grouchy.

She also realized that she couldn't do much at work. She couldn't even fly with the team, so she was stuck at the office and there wasn't much she could do there that Penny didn't already do. She made the decision to take some time off. She had been working through a master's degree in criminology online for the past couple years and it had been going slow. She decided to spend the time off working on that and hopefully finishing it. She was glad that it was a go at your own pace program. She didn't tell anyone that. In fact, no one knew that she was actually working on a degree online. When she started it was not long after she had discussed it with Reid on the flight back from one of their cases. She didn't tell anyone because at the time she was nervous she maybe wouldn't do well and after awhile it was just easier to keep it to herself.

She was working on it late one night in her room. She had been able to move back to her room after she had been seen at six weeks by the doctor and she was able to start using her knee again.

She had headphones on and was listening to a pre-recorded lecture.

Aaron had gotten up to get some water and he noticed a light on in her room. It was late. What was she doing up? He went and knocked on her door gently but didn't get a response. He opened the door a bit and saw her sitting at her desk with headphones on. He went up behind her.

Lorelai saw a shadow and looked behind her. When she saw who it was she paused the lecture and took her headphones off. "Hey." She said

"Hi. What are you doing?" he asked

Lorelai took a breathe. "Listening to a criminology lecture." She told him

"Oh. Trying to add to that extensive knowledge?" He asked

She nodded she figured she had to tell him now. "Actually, the last couple years I have been working on getting my masters. Its an online course." She told him

"What? Why didn't you tell me?" He asked

She sighed. "Didn't want to disappoint anyone if I didn't do well." She told him

Aaron nodded. "Can you turn and look at me please?" They had been having this conversation with her looking at her screen. Lorelai turned her swivel chair around and looked at him.

"I know you have a hard time with the thought of disappointing me and others." He started. "And I am not saying that isn't a normal feeling when you have people you care about and care about you. But Lorelai you are so much more than your intelligence. Even if you didn't do well which I cant see happening with how smart and hardworking you are. I am unbelievable proud of you. You know I never saw myself having more kids after Jack. But if I could have imagined it. The kind of person I would want my child to be is -exactly who you are. You have made me so proud to call you my daughter. You are smart, kind, hardworking, you fight harder for victims especially children than I have ever seen. I admit sometimes to your own downfall but if you go down fighting for those who cant fight for themselves its not something that would disappoint me. You are an amazing big sister. You have so much talent as an artist, and you make delicious food too. Lorelai please don't ever be afraid to tell me what you are doing with your life. -This makes me proud. Getting even a 0 in the course would not disappoint me. Because you are trying." He told her

Lorelai let a few tears fall listening to her dad. It wasn't the first time he was telling her these things but the first time she fully believed him. "Even though I keep screwing up?" She asked him

Aaron smiled "Well you haven't in awhile and yes. Lorelai you are young. You are still learning. You have dealt with so much trauma and evilness in your life. No one expects that all you have been through hasn't and will continue to effect you though out your life. No one is perfect we all make mistakes. You think I've never done anything stupid?" he asked. "Yes. I admit there have been things you have done that disappointed me but not this. I don't expect my kids to be rocket scientists I expect them to try their best and be good people. Which you do and you are." He told her

Lorelai chuckled. "I know you have I have heard stories about the things you have done." She said

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "What stories?" He asked. "And who told you them?"

Lorelai smirked. "I have been sworn to secrecy." She told him

"Uh huh." He said "Anyways. I'm proud of you for taking this step. It will make you an even better Agent. No matter the outcome." He told her. "How much more do you have to do to finish?" He asked her

"I'm getting close to the end. I am hoping to finish before I get back in the field." She told him

Aaron nodded. "Will there be any kind of graduation ceremony?" He asked

Lorelai shook her head. "Its an online collage."

"Well, we will just have to throw our own celebration when you are done." He told her

Lorelai sighed. "That's not necessary."

"Yes Lorelai it is. Because everyone deserves to be celebrated when they achieve amazing things." He said.

Lorelai smiled.

Aaron went over to her and kissed her head. "Unbelievable proud. Make sure you get sleep. You need sleep for your body to heal." He told her

Lorelai smiled. "Lectures almost over. I will go to bed after."

Aaron nodded. He went and got his water and than went back to bed.

Lorelai finished the lecture before she went to bed as well.
