Monday morning came. Lorelai had told Rebecca everything that Derek had told her the day before and made sure she had his number.

She woke up when her alarm went off at 6am. She turned off the alarm stretched and looked up at the ceiling for a few minutes.

Rebecca opened her eyes and smiled. "Ready?" She asked

"I don't know. Part of me yes. I am rearing to get back to work. I'm going back with a better understanding of criminology, and I am excited. But I'm scared too. It has been close to four months since I have worked. My knee is still not at 100 precent and what if I do to much and re-injure it." She said

Rebecca nodded. "Well. Just take it slow and I am sure that no one will let you do more than you can."

Lorelai chuckled. "True. They will be on my ass if I try to do to much."

"And you know how to do this job. You have been doing it for years. You've got this." Rebecca told her

Lorelai smiled and got up. She went to the bathroom and showered before getting dressed. She came out of the bathroom and grabbed her to-go bag. She had reorganized it and re-stocked it while she was on her break. "Make sure you start looking for apartments online today." Lorelai told her

Rebecca chuckled. "Don't worry Derek is already on my ass for that."

Lorelai smiled. "Not surprised. He's no less a hard ass than my dad."

"Thank you for all of this." Rebecca said

Lorelai nodded. "Of course. You're my sister." She said goodbye as she went to the kitchen to grab her coffee and headed out the door.

She got to the office at 7:15am. She saw that only Derek was there already.

"Good morning." She said sitting at her desk for the first time in months.

Derek smiled. "First day back. You ready?" He asked

Lorelai nodded. "As ready as I am going to be."

"Derek nodded. "You've got this." He told her

"I have been told you are already on her ass about apartments." She said with a smirk

Derek smirked. "Is she listening?"

"I assume so. I reminded her this morning and she told me not to worry." She said

Derek nodded.

The rest of the team shows up with-in the next few minutes and they all got to work. Spencer told her that the restraining order against her father was in the works.

"Thanks." She said

Spencer nodded and smiled

They got called out on a case in Tennessee so off they went.

The case was nothing unusual it kind of bugged Lorelai that cases like this didn't bother her anymore. Yes of course she was sympathetic to the victims and their loved ones, but it was normal to her at this point. Even after taking the time off, it was just normal.

They got back into town Tuesday evening. She was glad she was going to get a chance to say goodbye to Rebecca. They went home and the three of them were watching disney movies.

"How was your last couple days?" Lorelai asked Rebecca

"It was fine. These two kept me busy last night." Rebecca said

Aaron looked between his two younger kids. "Did you give her a hard time?"

"No." Rebecca said. "They were great just wanted to spend time together."

Aaron smiled. "Good."

Aaron sent the little guy off to bed before going to shower.

Lorelai saw the books on the table. "Finish your homework?" She asked Rachel

"Yeah. I should clean that up." She got up and took the stuff and went

"Did you get your assignment done?" Lorelai asked Rebecca

"Didn't find a place yet but I have been looking. I have a shelter to stay in when I get back though." She said.

Lorelai nodded

"How was your first case back?" Rebecca asked

She shrugged. "Fine. Run of the mill. Nothing earth shattering." She said.

"How's the knee?" She asked

"A bit sore. But its expected." Lorelai told her

Rebecca nodded

"You ready to go home tomorrow?" Lorelai asked

Rebecca shrugged. "It doesn't feel like home anymore."

"Why don't you move to DC?" Lorelai suggested with a smile

"I go to university there." Rebecca said

"Well, you could transfer schools" Lorelai said

"And its far more expensive to live here." Rebecca said

Lorelai smiled. "Okay. But visit more."

Rebecca smiled and nodded

Lorelai went off to take a shower and get ready for bed. Rebecca was in the room packing when she came in from the shower.

Lorelai noticed a small baggy of a green substance on the bed and grabbed it quickly.

"Weed? Really?" Lorelai asked her

Rebecca took it back quickly. "Its not a problem."

"Its illegal. How the hell did you get that here on the plane?" Lorelai asked

"I didn't. I got it here. And it will be gone before I fly home." Rebecca told her

"Yup. That's a problem. You cant go less than a week without it?" She asked

"Yes I can. I just didn't want to this week. Its been along week." Rebecca told her

"I get that. I have to ask you didn't smoke around the kids did you?" Lorelai asked

"No. Of course not." Rebecca said

"Okay. And how often do you?" Lorelai asked

"On and off since 13. Some years more than others. Right now, usually about once a week. This week a bit more." Rebecca said

"I'm sorry. What? Thirteen?! You weren't kidding about knowing how to lie to me. I would have grounded you till eighteen." Lorelai said

Rebecca chuckled. "I knew that. Which is why I was hiding it."

Lorelai shook her head. "Well, are you addicted?"

"No. I can stop anytime I want." Rebecca said

Lorelai snatched the bag back and went and flushed it before Rebecca could stop it. "Than your stopping now."

Rebecca was shocked and tried to stop her, but Lorelai was faster.

"I love you and it stops now." Lorelai said

Rebecca was annoyed. Both ladies went to bed.

The next morning Lorelai drove her to the airport not much was said on the drive.

"I get your pissed I flushed your stash. But I am an FBI agent, and the only other option would have been to tell my dad and I know you wouldn't want me to have done that." Lorelai said

"You really think I cant go buy more when I get back to Florida?" Rebecca asked

"No. I know you can. I just hope you don't. You've witnessed what happens when people use drugs for years on Thanksgiving. My bio-father showing up at my home and almost ruining a really special day." Lorelai said

"Its just weed. Weed doesn't make people do that." Rebecca said

"Well, no, not on its own. And I am not saying it will lead to you doing harder drugs. But is it maybe part of the reason you are struggling to keep up with school?" Lorelai asked

"No, I don't." Rebecca said

Lorelai nodded. "Well just know that I love you but if you continue to smoke weed I cant be around it." She told her as she pulled up to the airport

Rebecca looked at her. "Are you serious?"

"I have to think about my own mental health and anytime I have been around people who do drugs in my life it hasn't ended well." Lorelai said

"Wow. So much for always having my back." Rebecca said as she got out grabbed her bag and walked into the airport with not so much as a bye.

Lorelai watched her go. Tears in her eyes. That was the hardest thing she had ever needed to do but she knew it was the right thing.
