It was a couple weeks later, and Aaron sat down with Lorelai who was sketching away.
"Do you mind if I ask what you are drawing?" Aaron asked
Lorelai looked up. She grabbed the old polaroid that sat at the bottom of the page and handed it to him.
It was a picture of her and Rebecca when they were about 13.
Aaron smiled and recognized them right away. "Where did you find this?" He asked
"Looking through an old shoe box of pictures." Lorelai told him
Aaron handed her the picture back and Lorelai took it. "Thank you for sharing."
Lorelai nodded.
"Your nineteenth birthday is coming up. Do you have any idea of what you would like to do?" He asked her
Lorelai bit her lip. "I was hoping to just have a girls day with well the girls. Rebecca, JJ, Penny and Rachel. Go to a spa go for a fancy lunch or something." She said
Aaron smiled. "Its your birthday if that's what you want than go for it." He told her
"But I know our birthdays are a big deal for you." Lorelai said
"I just want you to have a good day." He told her
Lorelai nodded. "Maybe we can do cake and coffee with everyone that evening too?" She said
Aaron chuckled. "If you want."
Lorelai smiled and nodded
"Okay. Well just let everyone know when." Aaron told her
Lorelai nodded. First she texted all the girls
'My birthday this year. Girls Day? The spa, get our nails done and maybe massages, facials. Dinner at Mazi's Before heading back to my place for cake and coffee with everyone.' She told them
The girls all got the text and responded that sounded perfect and like a lot of fun.
Lorelai than texted the guys. 'Birthday celebration my house. Cake and coffee.' And told them what time.
It wasn't long before they all texted back that they would be there.
Lorelai smiled before finishing up working on her drawing for that afternoon.

The day of her birthday came. Lorelai slept in. Aaron had warned Jack the night before to not bother her when he got up that she got to sleep in. Jack was a little disappointed, but he understood. Aaron and Rachel put together a birthday breakfast with Lorelai's favorites.
Lorelai came down around 10:30am and sat and ate with them before looking at Rachel. "Ready for girls day?" She asked
Rachel smiled. "Yes. I'm excited."
Aaron looked at them both. "What are the plans?" He asked
Lorelai smiled. "Going to the spa. Facials, massages, getting our nails done. Than dinner at Mazi's at 5 we will be back here around 7:30ish to meet the boys."
Aaron smiled. "Well planned out."
"I'm excited." Lorelai said
Aaron nodded. "I will have cake and coffee ready here." He said
"Thank you dad." Lorelai said
"Of course." Aaron responded
After breakfast the girls both got ready and headed out to meet the rest of the girls at the spa.
The day went well. Just what all the ladies needed. They were all sitting down to get their nails done and Lorelai looked at Rebecca.
"How have things been going?" She asked her
"Fine." Rebecca responded.
"Pissed him off yet?" Lorelai asked
"Ha ha. Yeah…" Rebecca said
"We both have." Penny said with a smirk
"Ah. Been getting in trouble together?" Lorelai asked with a chuckle
"Yup." Penny said with a smirk
Rebecca chuckled. "Its been okay though."
JJ looked at Rachel. "How have you been since the whole thing?"
Rachel smiled. "Okay. It was hard at first. Everyone at school somehow found out and well. I lost a couple friends, but it has died down." Rachel told them
"If they stopped being your friends because of that. They weren't really your friends to begin with." Penny told her
Rachel nodded. "I know, but it was still hard."
"But you still have your true friends. Like Kara." Lorelai told her
Rachel nodded and smiled. "Yes. I still have a couple of friends who have my back."
Lorelai smiled. "And a few real good friends is better than a lot of fake friends."
Everyone agreed.
"How are you and Spencer doing?" Penny asked. "I heard about what happened on the flight…"
Lorelai sighed. "Well. We are working though that. We are all struggling we miss Emily and I think I freaked out a little bit. I was scared I was losing him.." She said
"To me?!" JJ asked
"No. Of course not. Just thought he was going to someone else with his feelings because he didn't trust me or something." Lorelai said
"Have you two. Taking that step yet?" Rebecca asked
Lorelai looked at Rachel. "Not a word to dad."
Rachel chuckled. "I don't think he would want to know."
"Yeah. We have. Awhile ago." Lorelai said. "But that is all I am saying about that." Lorelai answered her
"Your dad isn't stupid." JJ said
"I know and maybe he figures we have but its not a conversation I am going to have with him." Lorelai said
They all chuckled and agreed not a conversation to have with a father.
They finished up before they went to the restaurant when they got there and looked at the menu. They all eyed the appetizers first and tried to decide which ones to order to all shares. The waitress came over and heard the discussion.
"May I make a suggestion?" The waitress asked
They all nodded.
"The last time I was here with my girlfriends we just ordered all the appetizers to share, and we didn't regret it. They are all amazing and we were all very full at the end." The waitress told them
The ladies all looked at each other and agreed that sounded good.
"And what do you have virgin cocktail wise? Its her nineteenth birthday." Penny said pointing to Lorelai
"Well happy birthday. And our bartender can make anything. He does a great pineapple virgin drink I can have him make a pitcher if you all want to share?" She suggested
They all agreed to that as well before the waitress went off to put their order in.
The girls continued their conversation from the spa and the food and drinks came and they ate and had a good time. They finished up and agreed they had made the right choice about their order. The waitress came over to collect plates and to hand them their check.
JJ grabbed it before anyone else. "My treat." She said taking out her card and paying.
No one argued. They all left and headed to the Hotchner residence. The place had been decorated and there was a cake sitting on the counter and coffee and tea ready to be made as well.
Lorelai was welcomed with a string of happy birthdays and hugs.
Spencer came over and gave her a kiss. "You smell like a flower." He said
Lorelai laughed. "Yup. The facial creams one of them was rose infused something or other." She said
"Is that good for the skin?" He asked confused
Lorelai smirked. "Yes. Rose oil is very good for the skin. So is Lavender and I think there was some of that too."
Derek chuckled. "Don't question it pretty boy just accept it." He said as he overheard the conversation
Spencer smiled. "As long as you enjoyed yourself." He said to his girl
"It was an amazing day. It was perfect." Lorelai said.
Hotch brought out the cake at the point and they all sang her happy birthday. Afterwards the cake was served.
Lorelai was brought a piece and a cup of tea.
Lorelai smiled. "Thanks Spence."
Spencer sat with her. "What did you have for dinner?" He asked
Lorelai chuckled. "Every appetizer on the menu. We shared them all at the waitresses suggestion. And a really good virgin pineapple cocktail."
Spencer chuckled. "Sounds likes a lot of food."
"Pft. Not for the five of us." Lorelai said
They all had their cake and drinks, and Lorelai opened her gifts from everyone. She had yet again been spoiled by her family.
Afterwards everyone was talking. Lorelai looked around and realized Rebecca wasn't in the room. She excused herself and went and found her. Smoking a joint on the back deck.
Lorelai sighed. "Hi."
Rebecca looked up and sighed. "Great. I guess I'm busted."
Lorelai went over and stood next to her. "I thought you did this when you were stressed. What's stressing you out?"
"I just don't get it. You're so happy. I'm here with the same family. Dealing with the same kind of lifestyle and I'm just not." Rebecca said
Lorelai nodded. "I wasn't happy at first. I was miserable. It took me along time before I got to happy. It didn't just happen over night."
Rebecca nodded. The two just stood there while Rebecca finished the joint. "I'm surprised you didn't take it from me."
Lorelai shrugged. "You're already in trouble why sweat the small stuff."
"You're going to tell him?" Rebecca asked
"Nope." Lorelai said
"Really?" She said but than she saw the look on Lorelai's face. "You're going to make me tell him…"
"Yup." Lorelai said
"Come on Lorelai please." Rebecca begged.
"Becca. I could let you get away with it. But he would find out some how and than we would both be in trouble, and I love you but I'm not taking that chance." Lorelai said
"Come on. You have put yourself in the line of fire more than once for me. Just once more." Rebecca said
"I did. But that was when abuse was involved. Yeah you will be in trouble, but I know that you will be safe." Lorelai said
"My ass wont be." Rebecca said
Lorelai bit her tongue to keep from laughing. "Sorry. You screwed up. You wanted this life. Well, you've got it." Lorelai turned around and saw Derek standing there. "Um. But I don't think you will have to tell him…"
Rebecca didn't move. "Oh?"
"He already knows." Derek said.
Rebecca turned around quickly. "Derek. I…"
Lorelai quickly went to go inside but was stopped. "You let her finish it." He said
Lorelai took a breathe. "Yeah…"
"We will talk about that later." He told Lorelai
Lorelai nodded. "Sorry." She said before she went inside.
His arms were crossed as he looked at Rebecca
"I'm sorry Derek." Rebecca said
Derek nodded. "Sorry you did it or sorry you got caught."
"Both." Rebecca said
He nodded again. "You're in trouble."
"Yes Sir." Rebecca said
"But this is Lorelai's birthday so we will finish this conversation at home." He told her
Rebecca nodded. They both went back inside and re-joined the group.
The celebration died down about an hour later. Derek and Rebecca were the last to leave but before he left Derek took Lorelai aside.
"Of all people I figured you would be the one to take the joint from her before she finished." Derek said
"I'm her friend not her parent. I figured what is the point to taking it away." Lorelai said
"Because its illegal and she shouldn't be doing it." Derek told her
"Yes, I agree with that, but she was already doing it. If I came out and she hadn't started I would have taken it away." Lorelai said
"Fine. If you catch her again take it away. No matter at what point in the process she is." Derek said
Lorelai nodded a bit.
"I mean it Lorelai. Or she wont be the only one in trouble." Derek said
"Got it." She said
Derek gave her a hug before he left and went home with Rebecca
Lorelai sat on the couch and picked up her new charcoal pencils and looking at them
Aaron sat down next to her. "Derek told me about what happened."
She sighed. "Am I going to get a lecture from you too?" She asked
"No." He said
Lorelai looked up at him
"He already did I think you get the point." Aaron said
Lorelai nodded.
"I didn't know you were into charcoal." Aaron said changing the subject
"I never have done it. I mentioned to Penny a while back I was considering getting into it. I guess she decided to give me the push I need." Lorelai said with a smile
Aaron smiled and went to help Rachel who was cleaning up in the kitchen
It wasn't very much longer before everyone went to bed.
