Lorelai was staring at her computer screen. She was in shock. She didn't know how else to describe it. She had gotten an email from one of her old foster siblings. She had gotten a few from different girls since they got out of the home. The emails in the past were thanking her telling her they were happy, in good homes getting the help they need. But this email was different. This was a foster sister who wasn't happy with her. This was one of the younger ones. She was only eight. The fact that she was even able to figure out how to email her was a bit of a surprise but that was besides the point at the moment.

Emily came into the room and saw Lorelai on her computer. She looked lost in thought and decided not to distract her she just went and sat at her own desk. No one else was in yet that morning.

Lorelai reread the email. The basis of the email was that this young girl was blaming her for all that she had gone through. Calling her just as bad as their former foster mother and that she didn't actually care about the others in that home.

Lorelai was heartbroken. Had she not done enough? Was the girl right? "What didn't I do." She mumbled to herself

Emily looked up. "What didn't you do?" She asked she was starting to get concerned.

Lorelai was shocked out of her focus. "Oh. Didn't see you come in."

Emily nodded. "You seem distracted. Everything okay?" She asked

Lorelai smiled a bit. "Yeah…"

"You sure?" Emily asked

Lorelai sighed and leaned back in her chair. "Got an email."

"I assume you get a lot of those in a day." Emily said

Lorelai nodded. "This is one from one of my former foster sister."

"First time getting one?" Emily asked

"No. Not at all actually. A lot of them have emailed me telling me how well they are doing and such." Lorelai said

"That's a good thing right?" Emily asked

"Of course. Yes." Lorelai said

Emily raised an eyebrow. She knew there was more.

Lorelai sighed again. "This email wasn't a good report so to speak."

"Is she in danger?" Emily asked

"That's not what the email says." Lorelai said

"Come on. Out with-it Lorelai." Emily said

"She blames me for the abuse." Lorelai finally told her

"I'm sorry. What?" Emily said

Lorelai pointed to the screen.

Emily got up and went over and read the email. She could see all the spelling errors. "How old is this girl?"

"If my math is correct she's eight." Lorelai said

"Okay. Well, you are not going to let an eight-year-old make you feel like this when what she's saying is so far from the truth. She is obviously dealing with her own trauma and cant get back at the person who is to blame so you became the scapegoat." Emily said

"But maybe she saw something I missed. Maybe I could have done more." Lorelai said

"Lorelai. No. You know you did all you could. Maybe she doesn't remember because she is so young, but you did everything you could to protect those girls." Emily told her

Lorelai nodded a bit. "I guess."

"You guess what?" Spencer asked coming in.

Lorelai looked up at Emily with pleading eyes not to tell him.

Emily took a breathe. "Sorry. Cant keep this a secret." She looked up at Spencer. "She's got an email you should see."

"Emily!" Lorelai said

"Is this the email that we already discussed this morning?" He asked

Lorelai sighed. "yeah…"

Spencer raised an eyebrow

"Okay. I'm sorry. Closing the email and ignoring it." She said

"You better." Spencer told her

Slowly the rest of the team arrived and soon after they headed out on a new case.

It wasn't lost on anyone that Lorelai was distracted. Morgan noticed Reid & Prentiss exchanging looks and looking at Lorelai when the four of them were in the conference room at the police station.

"Okay. What's going on?" Morgan asked the three of them

Lorelai looked up from the file she was reading over. "What?"

"You are obviously distracted and these two wont stop giving each other knowing looks." Morgan told her

Lorelai looked at the other two. "Really? I thought we were dropping it?"

"Yes. And yet you are still distracted." Prentiss said

"That is your opinion Agent Prentiss." Lorelai said

"It's the opinion of everyone in this room." Morgan said. "What was supposed to be dropped?"

Lorelai sighed. "It is a personal situation that I don't feel like getting into right now. The only thing we should be focused on is this case."

"I agree but if your personal problems are getting in the way of your focus." Morgan said

"There not." Lorelai said.

Morgan nodded. He didn't for one second believe her but for right now there wasn't much he could do.

Hotch, JJ & Rossi came back into the conference room.

Hotch sent them all on their assignments, and everyone went off. It didn't take them long to find out who they were looking for and within an hour they had the guy in the interrogation room at the police station. Hotch and Morgan went in and interrogated him and got him to confess. After that they spent a couple hours doing paperwork before heading back to the jet. On the jet Morgan went and sat with Agent Davies.

"I know you said it was a personal problem and obviously Reid and Prentiss know about it. But is there something I can do to help?" Morgan asked Davies

Lorelai sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. "I got an email from a former foster sister. I have gotten some from others in the past always been good and positive this one not so much."

Derek nodded. "What does it say?"

"Blaming me for the abuse. Saying I am no better than Jessica was and such." Lorelai told him

"What? That is so far from the truth." He told her. "You know that." He added

"I know…I am trying to believe that but when an eight-year-old figures out how to email me these things it hurts." Lorelai said

Derek made a face. "Eight? Lorelai that almost sounds like a cry for help from someone of that age."

"I thought so to at first. But I double checked. She is in a really good home." Lorelai told him

"Double checked?" He asked

Lorelai sighed. "Guess I'm busted. I have been keeping an eye on them… Not because I didn't still trust you. I just figured a second pair of eyes couldn't hurt."

Derek crossed his arms

"Come on Derek. What does it hurt?" She asked

"What would you have done if you found out she was in a bad home?" He asked

Lorelai nodded. "Fair question. I would have involved someone else. Whether it be someone on the team or law enforcement in the area she lives." She told him

Derek nodded. "You wouldn't have tried to handle it on your own?"

Lorelai chuckled. "No. I've learned my lesson."

Derek chuckled. "I guess there is nothing wrong with an extra set of eyes."

Lorelai smiled a bit

"Either way I want you to say what that email said isn't true." Derek told her

"Derek…"

"Nope. Say it." Derek told her

Lorelai sighed. "The abuse in that home was not my fault."

"Good." Derek said

The flight landed a couple hours later, and they all went home.
