She tried to fight it off, but he proved to be stronger. She was quickly tied up and forced to sit in the back of this van and look at the young man she had actually thought would be okay. The young man she fought for.
"This is what happens when you don't live up to your end of the bargain." Mitchel told her before getting into the front and driving the vehicle.
Lorelai took a breathe. She knew if she was going to get out of this alive she had to think and fast. She used the little strength she had to somehow manage to get her phone out of her pocket and press to call the last number she had called which was Spencer.
"Mitchel. I get it." She said as soon as the phone call was answered. "I'm sorry that you feel like I backed out of our deal. But you have to understand you scared me. Mitchel I considered you to be one of my friends. But I never saw you as more than that. And maybe I led you on and if I did I am so sorry that was never my intent. But I never said that we would even be friends when you had me at knife point. I told you I would make sure you got the help you needed. And that was to get you into the facility, and I did that. Than when I realized after talking to you for over two years that you were reading more into the friendship I had to cut it off. I was so broken by the situation, and I realized that maybe I made a mistake in keeping in contact with you and I felt so guilty. Which is why I told just one person about the whole situation. You want revenge against me I get it. And I am pretty sure you have gotten that. My boyfriend is pissed because I told him nothing and I'm pretty sure our relationship is over." She told him.
Spencer picked up the phone when Lorelai had called him he went to say hello, but Lorelai cut him off and he realized what was going in. He put himself on mute and went to find the rest of the team in the conference room and they all heard what was going on. Hotch called Garcia and had her trace Lorelai's cell and the whole team left to go find her.
Mitchel pulled over after driving for a bit. Lorelai quickly managed to get her phone back into her pocket and had no way of knowing if she had kept the call active. Mitchel opened the back of the van and pulled her out roughly dislocating her shoulder in the process.
Lorelai cried out "Ouch. Come on Mitchel you can end this before you make the biggest mistake of your life. Don't get me wrong you are in a shit load of trouble. You will likely end up in prison. But if you kill an FBI agent who has a team full of people who consider me to be their family and my boss/father is a former lawyer with a lot of friends who owe him a lot of favours. You will be crucified. The only way to stop that from happening is to let me go. And don't think for one second they wont figure out you switched from a white to a black van. Did you just have it wrapped or buy a whole new van?" She asked trying to distract him.
Mitchel didn't say anything he continued to drag her to a dug-up grave. Lorelai was so terrified she knew what was happening. Mitchel threw her into the hole and pointed a gun at her.
Lorelai yelped and started to sob.
The team raced to the location where her phone stopped moving. They could hear everything still. They could hear the fear and pain in Lorelai's voice. Aaron was so terrified he was about to lose his daughter.
Prentiss had an idea. "Do you think that if we took the call of mute and spoke and told Mitchel we have heard everything and know where they are it will make him give up?
"It could. Or it could make him freak out more and just shoot her." Morgan said
They pulled into a parking lot connected to a forest and started into the forest breaking into teams of two.
Mitchel could hear some noise. "They did not find you already!" he screamed as he shot into the hole in the ground. Lorelai screamed thankfully Mitchel missed her.
They all heard the screaming and gun shot and made their way towards the noise.
Lorelai screamed again. "I am here! HELP!"
Mitchel shot into the hole missing again.
Spencer came out of nowhere and tackled Mitchel to the ground causing him to drop his gun. Rossi and Morgan quickly went to secure the gun and Mitchel while Prentiss jumped into the hole and cut away the ropes that were restraining Lorelai's wrists behind her back and ankles together.
Morgan and Rossi took Mitchel towards the car and Spencer jumped into the hole as well and helped Prentiss get her out. He picked her up in both arms and carried her to the entrance of the forest and into the waiting ambulance. He got in with her.
Hotch wanted to go with her but knew he needed to do his job. "Spencer stay with her I will join you when I can. Lorelai you do not fight the hospital staff." He said
"Yes daddy." She muttered as she had already been given medication to calm her down.
Aaron had to take a second before he snapped back to reality. Lorelai had never called him daddy. Never even dad at work.
The ambulance doors were shut, and Lorelai was rushed to the hospital.
Aaron went to find Mitchel. He was ready to rip heads off. Rossi saw the look on his face and put himself between the car where Mitchel was and Hotch. "I will cuff you if I have to Aaron." He told the younger man.
"Lorelai kept that idiot out of prison, and this is how he repays her. Get out of my way Dave." Aaron said
"Aaron. You need to calm down. Think about Lorelai and your other children. They need their dad. Not in prison." Rossi told him
Morgan and Prentiss quickly drove away with Mitchel.
"I think you need to delegate a temporary team lead and go to the hospital." Rossi said
"Not a chance. I will be interrogating him." Hotch said
"Aaron. Think about that. Can you go in to interrogate him and keep your job or freedom?" Dave asked him
Aaron sighed. "You know I am -your boss. Not the other way around."
"Do you want this case to go the way it should? That young man to go to prison for the rest of his life?" Rossi asked
"Of course." Aaron said
"Than listen to me." Rossi said
Aaron sighed. "I will not be going to the hospital yet. However, I will let Morgan and Prentiss interrogate him. For now."
Rossi nodded. He would accept the small win.
At the hospital Lorelai was taken in and had an x-ray done on her shoulder and on her knee that was hurting her quite a bit. She also had an MRI on her brain checking for any signed of concussion
Spencer stayed with her as much as he could. He waited in her room when she went for x-rays. He sat with his head in his hands. He was running everything he heard Lorelai say in the call. Did she really think he was going to break up with her?
She was brought back to the room after about and hour. She was asleep.
Spencer took her hand and squeezed it gently.
Lorelai woke up a bit.
"Hey. Sorry. Didn't mean to wake you up." He said softly
Lorelai smiled a bit. "Its okay.
"How are you feeling?" he asked
"My shoulder hurts. My knee hurts, my head hurts…my heart hurts…" She said
Spencer stood up and leaned in and kissed her softly. "I'm not going anywhere Lorelai. You are not losing me." He told her
Lorelai let tears fall. "Y-you sure?"
"Yes. Lorelai." He sat back down but kept hold of her hand. "I wish you had told me about what was going on, but I have learned you not telling me things has more to do with you than it does me." He said
Lorelai nodded a bit. "You're not wrong. But that doesn't mean its fair…"
Spencer shrugged. "It is what it is Lorelai. I'm not happy about it but I'm also not going to break up with you because of it." He told her
Lorelai nodded a bit.
The doctor came in with copies of the x-rays. "How are you feeling?" he asked
"I'm in quite a bit of pain." She said
"On a scale of one – ten, ten being the most pain you have ever felt." he said
"eight." She said
The doctor nodded. "I will get you more pain medication but first I need to pop your shoulder back in." He said
Lorelai groaned.
"I know its painful but it's the only way it will fix the problem." The doctor said.
"Come on Lorelai you can handle it." Spencer said.
Lorelai sighed. "Fine."
The doctor helped her sit up and Spencer took her other hand.
"On three." The doctor said.
Lorelai took a breathe.
"One, Two." The doctor popped it back in on two
Lorelai yelped. "That wasn't three!"
"I know. I'm an ass. It's just better you don't know its coming so you don't tense up." The doctor said
"What about her knee?" Spencer asked as her shoulder was taped up.
The doctor nodded. "Just swollen. Based on the fact that she sprained it a few months ago makes sense. Its still healing and given the physical trauma of today. And no concussion. I can give you a script for pain killers, but you should be good to go."
Lorelai nodded. "Thank you doctor. I don't think I need the pain killers"
"Of course." He responded to her thanks. He handed Spencer the script. "She -will need it."
Spencer smiled. "I will make sure its filled."
Lorelai sighed.
Lorelai was released and they took a cab back to the station and they went inside to the conference room. Everyone was in there and they all looked up.
"Shoulder was dislocated been popped back in. Knee is just swollen from the trauma. No concussion. Please don't send me to the hotel." She said
Hotch looked up at Spencer. "Not leaving anything out is she?"
"She told the doctor her pain level was an eight. She doesn't want to take the pain killers he prescribed." Spencer said
"It was an eight. After the shoulder has been popped back in. Its more like a five." She said
Hotch sighed. "Fine. Sit. Morgan and Prentiss are about to go interrogate him."
Lorelai nodded and sat.
"Maybe. She would like a chance to interrogate him?" Prentiss suggested
Hotch let out an annoyed breathe. "Do you want to Agent Davies? Do you think you can do so professionally?" He asked
Lorelai took a breathe. "I do have questions. I want answers."
"Doesn't answer my second question." Hotch said
"I can do it and remain professional." She told him
"Fine. Morgan let the two of them do it." Hotch said
Morgan nodded.
"He has been read his rights. He refused a lawyer." Prentiss told her as they went to the room and went inside
"Hello Mitchel." Agent Davies said
"Lorelai. I'm surprised you're allowed in here." He said with a smirk.
"Why wouldn't I be?" Lorelai asked
"Because you are the reason I did these things." He said
Lorelai shook her head. "Nope. I'm not responsible for your decisions. You wanted my attention clearly well you've got it." She told him sitting down
Prentiss stood back and let her take lead.
"So. What made you think this would end anywhere besides an early grave for you or in prison?" Davies asked
"Because I know all your secrets. I know you will keep me out of prison, or I will tell everyone all your secrets." Mitchel told
"I don't have any secrets. From the people who it matters to anyways." She told him
"Well how do you think the world will react if they find out the FBI has a minor working for them for two years. Or the fact that your boss is your daddy." He said with a smirk
Lorelai shrugged and bit the inside of her mouth to keep from reacting to the pain. "I don't care. Tell them."
"No one is going to care." Prentiss told him
"Really? How about the truth about your first boyfriend?" He said with a smirk
Lorelai realized she had confided to much in him but at this point it was to late. "Whatever. It has to come out eventually." She told him
Prentiss wondered what that was about but knew now wasn't the time.
Mitchel narrowed his eyes.
"You have -nothing on me that I worry about." Davies told him
"What about your pregnancy?" he said with a smirk.
"They know I was pregnant when I aged out. You were there when they found out." She said with a confused look.
"Not that pregnancy." He said
"That's the only pregnancy I have had." She said. "I think you're more messed up than I realized." She said
"Oh, fuck off. I'm not. I know you are currently pregnant." He said
Lorelai was entirely confused. "No. I'm not. And even if I was. I wouldn't hide that from my team. Mitchel you can just stop. You have nothing on me that can scare me from making sure you go to prison for the rest of your life. So why don't you explain why you had to kill innocent women to get back at me."
"To prove to you that I will never forgive you for the hell you put me through." Mitchel said
"All I did was help you Mitchel. You will not make me feel responsible for your choices. You could have had a friend in me for the rest of your life. I am loyal to a fault to the people I care about but you blew any chance of that the minutes you abducted your first victim. And I will make sure you get the highest amount of time as possible." She said getting up and walking out of the room. Prentiss followed and they went to the viewing room where everyone else was watching.
"I do not know where he got the idea that I am pregnant but that is just not true." Davies said
Rossi nodded. "We know."
Everyone but Reid and Davies left the viewing room.
Spencer looked at her. "You know if you got pregnant I would be there right?"
Lorelai smiled. "Yes I do know that. But I'm not ready to be a mother yet."
Spencer nodded. "I get that there is no rush for that step. Just there is always a chance you could. I would support any decision you would make if it did happen."
Lorelai smiled. "Good to know."
"And I am proud of you. You are not letting him get under your skin." Spencer said
Lorelai sighed. "Glad I was convincing…"
Spencer raised an eyebrow. "So, you don't believe what you said?"
"I'm trying to. I really am. I know he made the decisions to do what he did but maybe if I hadn't been so buddy, buddy with him." Lorelai said
"No. He clearly has something wrong with his brain. Something would have made him snap even if it wasn't you." Reid told her
Davies nodded. "You're right."
"What did he mean about your first boyfriend?" Reid asked
She sighed and there were a few seconds of silence "I will tell you after we are done this case. I promise." Davies told her
Reid nodded. "Okay. That's fair."
The two of them went back to the conference room and started to work on the paperwork. The local police took over custody of Mitchel. The team finished their paperwork before heading to the Jet.
