The next evening the four women headed to Emily's place for a girls night. Emily invited them all in. They all got settled in for the first movie. They were watching the proposal first in their chick flick marathon.

They watched but also talked during the movie.

"How's the shoulder?" Penny asked

"Well, I am drinking water instead of wine because of the pain killers…" Lorelai told the room

"And you don't like to take any medication…" Becca pointed out

"Yup. It was a nine on the pain scale." Lorelai said

They kept watching the movie and gabbing. When the movie was finished Lorelai went to get more water. Rebecca joined her to get some water as well.

"Thanks for getting Derek to lay off me so I could come hang out." Rebecca told her

"Well. I don't know if I did much. It was easy for him when he knew you wouldn't be able to get into trouble with the three of them." Lorelai pointed out

"Well, we could sneak away and find trouble." Rebecca said with a smirk

"Uh, we could but that wouldn't end well for either of us." Lorelai pointed out. "And are you trying to piss Derek off for a reason?" She asked

Rebecca rolled her eyes. "He is so overbearing. Do this don't, do that. Its everything."

"You wanted this." Lorelai pointed out

"I clearly didn't know how intense it would be." Rebecca said

"Okay. I guess that's fair but your in it. And you have the structure you need. And you can continue to piss him off and continue to deal with the consequences or you can accept that this is what you need and grow to be the person you truly want to be." Lorelai told her

"When did you change like this?" Rebecca asked

"Probably when I almost lost the friendship I have with Emily. Or when I almost got shot because I was being stubborn and reckless." Lorelai told her

"Well, my life is not that dramatic." Rebecca said

"True. My line of work comes with more danger. But that doesn't mean you screwing around wont end badly. Don't get me wrong I understand wanting to run. But when I finally stop running I found the place I wanted to run to. I found my safe place. And it can be yours to." Lorelai told her. "And I think you are driving Derek literally crazy." She chuckled

Rebecca smirked. "Crazy enough he'll give up and let me do what I want?"

Lorelai sighed. "Do you actually want out of this? Because if you do you can just leave. You're an adult Rebecca. Tell him your done and leave. He cant keep you against your will." She grabbed her water and went back to the living room.

She took out her phone and texted Derek. 'I'm sorry. I tried to help Rebecca and I think I made it worse…'

Derek saw the text and sighed. He texted back. "What happened?'

Lorelai read the text before responding 'I tried to help her realize that if she stops trying to 'run' she'll find her safe place like I have.'

Derek replied. 'Doesn't sound to bad. What did she say?' He asked

'She seemed to want to piss you off till you break and 'let her go' I told her that she was an adult and could actually just leave. Derek I'm sorry.'

Derek chuckled. 'How many times did you want to 'run'?' he texted her

'More than once…' Lorelai responded.

'You're right if she wants to leave she can just leave but I have a feeling she is just pushing against the changes. Thank you for letting me know and for trying to help.' Derek texted back. 'Now just enjoy your girls night.' He texted again

Lorelai smiled and put her phone away and looked back up at the movie. They were watching 50 first dates now. They ordered chinese food and enjoyed the evening. They were just chatting when she saw Rebecca go outside.

She and Penny exchanged knowing glances. Penny got up. "I'll be back" Penny told the group, and she went outside and found her smoking weed.

"Did you really think we wouldn't notice?" Penny asked

"I hoped you would all just ignore it." Rebecca said

"Yeah. Nope." Penny sat next to her and took the joint away and put it out. "You know. I know the thrill of being 'bad' but sometimes we can push things to far." Penny said

"Why do you care?" Becca said with attitude.

"Because I care about you." Penny said

"Oh please. I'm not stupid." Becca said

"What do you mean? Of course, I care about you." Penny said

"No. You just don't want to piss of Derek with telling him you don't want me around." Becca said

Penny was hurt. "That's not true."

"Oh, fuck off." Becca said

Penny got up and went back inside. She was in tears.

Lorelai looked at her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'm fine." Penny said

"No, you're not." JJ said

Lorelai took a breathe and got up and went outside. "What the hell did you say to Penny?"

Penny came outside after Lorelai "Lorelai its fine don't worry about it."

"No. Penny you are the sweetest person in the world, and she clearly upset you." Lorelai told her

"So, I see you're picking her over me." Rebecca said

"Just because were practically sisters does not mean I am going to let you treat my friends like shit. I brought you into my family and you wanted it. You asked me to help you and I did, and you don't get to start treating any of us like shit when we include you in our events because things aren't going the way you want." Lorelai said

At this point the other two had come outside as well.

"I think I'm going to go. I am done with your bitchyness." Rebecca said to Lorelai she got up and started to stumble.

"Great and she's drunk." Lorelai said grabbing her before she felt over.

"Oh, fuck off." Rebecca said pushing Lorelai away.

Lorelai was able to keep herself from falling. And she was pissed. She reacted and slapped Rebecca across the face. "Don't you ever fucking push me again."

Becca wasn't as lucky due to being drunk and fell on her ass

Emily pulled Lorelai inside before a full-on fight could start and JJ helped Rebecca to her feet.

"Lorelai what the hell was that?" Emily asked

"She pushed me Emily." Lorelai said

"She's drunk Lorelai." Emily said

"That's not excuse to be violent." Lorelai said

"You were violent right back" Emily pointed out

Lorelai sat down on the couch head in her hands. "I just get… defensive when someone is violent with me…"

Emily sat next to her. "Makes sense. You couldn't defend yourself against your foster mother."

"I guess that makes sense." Lorelai said. "I am so sorry Emily. I didn't mean to ruin the night."

Emily shrugged. "What's a girls night without drama." She said with a smile

"Well, Rebecca and I brought that tonight." Lorelai said

Penny came back inside.

"Penny I'm sorry." Lorelai said

"Don't think its me you need to apologize to." Penny pointed out

Lorelai looked behind her.

"JJ. Is taking her back to Derek's" Penny told her

"Well fuck. I'm dead." Lorelai said

"Did you honestly think no one would find out?" Emily asked her

"Well no. I just figured Id have a chance to explain my side before she gets her chance." Lorelai said

"I saw it all. I will tell the truth if the need comes." Penny told her.

Lorelai nodded. "Now that I have caused problems. I think I'm going to go. Thank you for the invite Emily. Sorry again for the drama." She got up and left and went home.
