JJ hung up her cell phone with a sigh. It was a couple days later

Lorelai looked up from her paperwork. "What's wrong?"

"Was supposed to go out with Will for date night tonight. The babysitter called and canceled." JJ said

"You're in a room full of people who would happily babysit for you." Lorelai said

"I know but you all work long days too. I feel bad asking you." JJ said

"Well, I will not let your date night be ruined. I will babysit for you." Lorelai said

"Are you sure they can be a handful." JJ said

"Yes. I'm sure." Lorelai said with a smile

"Okay. Thank you." She texted Will and let him know

That night Lorelai showed up at 5:30pm and knocked on the door.

Will opened it up with a little boy at his feet

"Hello. Come on in." He said

Lorelai came in. "I see one of the little angels." She said smiling down at Henry.

Henry hugged her leg.

Lorelai smiled and picked him up. "You excited to play together tonight?"

Henry nodded.

Will smiled. "Thank you so much for doing this."

"Of course. I love spending time with two of my favorite kids." She said

JJ came out with Kelsey in tow.

"There's the other one." She said with a smile.

Kelsey ran and hugged her tight.

"Hey Kelsey." She said before she looked up at JJ. "You look great, you both do. Now go. Enjoy your night." Lorelai told them

"Okay, You have both our numbers, we are going for dinner and a movie. You can call if there is any problems." JJ told her

"JJ. Breathe. Don't worry. We will be fine." Lorelai assured her

JJ took a breathe. "I know. I trust you I just. We almost never leave the kids…" She said

"I get it, but you need your couple time. I promise your kids are safe with me. Now go." Lorelai said

The two left and headed out

"So, who wants pizza for dinner?" She asked

She got two cheers from the kids as they went into the living room.

Lorelai ordered them a pizza and they played for awhile till the pizza come. Lorelai served them their pizza and some juice.

Her phone buzzed. She looked at it. It was Spencer asking her how it was going

She texted back quickly telling him they were angels and put her phone back away.

She had a couple pieces of pizza as well. When they were done she put the dishes in the sink and cleaned up sticky hands and faces. Lorelai looked at the kids.

"Want to watch 101 dalmatians?" She asked

They both agreed. Lorelai set up the movie and they watched it. They finished up the movie and Lorelai looked at them both. "Okay time for bed."

She led them both to their rooms and helped them both get ready before reading them a book. She tucked them both in before going to the kitchen. She looked at her phone when it buzzed again

'How's everything going?' JJ asked

Lorelai sighed and shook her head. 'JJ. Its perfect. They are fed, we watched a movie they are in bed."

Will looked at JJ. "I take it everything is okay?"

"It is. I just hate leaving them when I do all day as it is." JJ said

"I get that, but we do need our own time too. And you know Lorelai would die before she would let anything happen to them." He said

"I know. You're right." JJ said putting her phone away

Lorelai did the dishes they made having dinner and put away the rest of the pizza.

She heard little footsteps and she looked behind her to see little Kelsey there.

"Hey Kelsey. Why are you out of bed?" Lorelai asked

"I'm thirsty." Kelsey said

Lorelai smiled and got her some water and than took her back to bed and tucked her back in. "Go to sleep okay." She said kissing her head and leaving her room again.

She went and sat on the couch and put on her favorite tv show.

Half an hour later she saw a little head peak around the corner.

"Kelsey. Why aren't you in bed?" Lorelai asked

"My tummy hurts." Kelsey said

Lorelai got up and went over to her and felt her forehead. "You are a little warm." She picked her up and lead her to the bathroom where she sat her on the counter. She found the thermometer and checked her temperature. It was a low-grade fever.

"Where on your tummy does it hurt?" Lorelai asked her

Kelsey pointed to her lower right side.

'Shit' Lorelai thought

"Does it hurt more when you are walking?" She asked

Kelsey nodded.

"Okay well why don't we get you back to bed. If it starts to hurt more you let me know." Lorelai picked her back up and took her back to her room and tucked her back in bed.

Lorelai took a breathe before leaving the room. She debated if she should let JJ and Will know. She decided not to unless it got worse.

She went and sat back downstairs and sighed. If Kelsey was as sick as she was worried this would be the second time someone got appendicitis with her babysitting.

She checked on her an hour later and she was asleep. She felt her forehead she didn't feel any different. She checked in on Henry who was sound asleep. She went back down just as JJ & Will were coming back in.

"Hello." Will said

"Hi. How was dinner and the movie?" Lorelai asked

"Good. It was fun. Just what we needed." JJ said. "How were things after the text?" She asked

"Um. Well. Kelsey has a low-grade fever and her lower right stomach hurts. It doesn't seem to be to bad, she did fall asleep after I checked her temperature." Lorelai said

"Oh." JJ went to check on her

Will nodded. "I'm sure its just a stomach bug or something."

Lorelai nodded. "I would have texted you if it got worse." She assured him

Will smiled. "I know. We wouldn't have left them with you if we didn't trust you."

Lorelai smiled and nodded

JJ came down. "She seems okay. She is asleep."

Lorelai nodded.

"Thank you for watching them." JJ said

"Of course. Anytime." Lorelai told them. "Let me know if its more serious than a stomach bug." She said bye and left and went home.

When she got home she saw her dad in his office. "Working late?" she asked leaning against the wall between the two rooms

Aaron looked up. "How was your night?" He asked

"Okay. Kelsey is coming down with something. Hopefully just a stomach bug." Lorelai said

Aaron nodded. "Kids get sick"

"I know. Just it was her lower right side and mild fever… that's how it started with Rachel's appendix." Lorelai said

"Okay well if it is her appendix that happens to a lot of kids." Aaron pointed out

"Yes. I'm sure she will be fine either way but that will be the second kid I was babysitting where that happened." Lorelai said

"That is called a coincidence." Aaron said

"Or bad luck." Lorelai said

"No. I don't think so." Aaron told her

"What case you working?" Lorelai asked

"Just finishing up paperwork from the last case." He told her

Lorelai nodded. "Anything I can help with?"

"Nope. This is the part of the job I have to do." He told her

Lorelai smiled and nodded before going and making herself a cup of tea and sitting to drink it. After she finished she went and showered and went to bed.

Thankfully it did turn out that Kelsey just had a stomach bug and was going to be just fine.
