It had been a few weeks since Julianna had come to live with David. Dave had gotten her in to a local child phycologist and had gotten her an appointment with a family doctor for a follow up. He had also gotten her set up with a nanny/tutor so they could establish where she was educationally since it had been discovered that her previous foster family had been claiming to be homeschooling her but apparently they hadn't done much teaching.

They did find out that Donavan Hernandez was in fact her biological father and that her mother was one of the women that he had murdered several years previously. She had lived in the small town which was how Julianna ended up in the original foster home.

David was taking a few days off after the most recent case in Idaho to make sure he could go to her appointments with her and talk to the doctor and phycologist. He also made sure to take her shopping to get her some new clothing and other things she needed.

It was Thanksgiving and the last day he was off, and he had decided to invite the family to a get together at his place. He figured it was his turn as most of the time they went to Hotch's place as requested by Lorelai. It was his turn to host. He had argued with Lorelai about hosting it himself, but she caved after he agreed to allow her to cook a few things to bring. He had agreed. The turkey he had stuffed himself was in the oven and the rest of what he was cooking had been prepped and was ready to be cooked closer to the meal.

At 12:30pm the first knock came on the door. He went and opened it to find Lorelai and Jack standing there. "Hello, Happy Thanksgiving, you two. Come on in." He said as he took the two dishes from Lorelai's hands. The two went inside

"Happy Thanksgiving. Dad and Rachel will be along shortly. Thought I would come before to see if there was anything I could do to help. Also, Jack and Jules haven't met yet so I thought I'd bring him along early so they could get to know each other." Lorelai told him

Dave led them into the living room area where Julianna was watching a disney movie. "Hey Jules. Happy Thanksgiving." Lorelai said to the girl

Julianna got up and hugged her tight retuning the greetings.

"Jules this is Jack my little brother, Jack this is Jules she use to live in the same foster home as Rebecca, Rachel and me." Lorelai said introducing them.

They both said hello to each other, and both sat to continue watching the movie. Lorelai moved into the kitchen. "So, what can I do to help and don't tell me nothing." Lorelai said

David chuckled. "Not much left to do kiddo." He told Lorelai. "Turkey is in the oven everything else to be cooked closer to the meal is already prepped. Table is set." He said as he handed her a glass and pointed to a drink cart. "Help yourself to whatever." He told her.

Lorelai smiled and took the glass. "You know when I do the big meal I have help right its okay to accept help."

"And I did get help. You made the green bean and macaroni casseroles." He pointed out

Lorelai chuckled. "And I had to argue to be able to do that." She pointed out going towards the cart and getting herself some soda.

"Well, I let you, so you helped." He told her

Lorelai stopped arguing and looked up at him. "How are things going with Julianna?" She asked

"Still in the honeymoon faze I think." He told her

Lorelai chuckled. "Well have fun when that is over."

"Oh well if she's anything like you I will have my hands full." He told her

"Ha, ha very funny." Lorelai said

Dave smirked as he heard another knock on the door. Before long everyone was there, and all had a drink. The kids made their way to the basement where there was a smaller living space and everyone else settled into the living room and got to talking. After a bit Lorelai and Rebecca went off to another room to talk.

"Hey. So, I've met a guy." Rebecca said

"Ooh really? Who is he?" Lorelai asked

"He lives next door. We met on the fire escape. I was out there just thinking, and he came out to smoke." Rebecca said

"Ooh. He's a smoker." Lorelai said

"Not all the time, occasionally." Rebecca told her

Lorelai nodded. "He much be cute."

"Very." She said taking out her phone and showing her a picture of the two of them.

Lorelai agreed he was cute.

"I've a… a few times I've gotten a weird feeling when I have been with him though." Rebecca said

"Oh? What do you mean?" Lorelai asked

"Just a couple things he has done. Seemed like maybe he has some traits in common with my ex." Rebecca said

Lorelai took a breathe. "Has he been abusive?"

"No. But just hiding his phone from me and such. Like maybe he is cheating." Rebecca said

"Oh. I see. Well, if he is cheating than its his loss but maybe he just has some personal stuff going on he is just not ready to talk about yet." Lorelai offered

"I was wondering if you could do a background check?" Rebecca said

"Oof. Becca I don't know." Lorelai said. "Why don't you ask Derek or Penny she is better at that than me." Lorelai pointed out

"I don't want Derek to know until I know what's going on. And I feel like Penny will tell him." Rebecca said

"Yeah, she probably would." Lorelai said.

"Its not against the rules is it?" Rebecca asked

"No, But they don't like when you do it and my dad would be pissed and so would Derek if he found out." Lorelai said

"Well. How about this. Do the check and if something comes up serious involve the team?" Rebecca offered

"Than they will know I did it behind their backs." Lorelai pointed out

Rebecca sighed. "I'm scared Lorelai."

"I get that, and I can help but Derek needs to know." Lorelai said. "He will appreciate that you are making sure you are safe. It will show you are growing." Lorelai pointed out

"Yeah or he could decided I don't have good judgement about who I choose to date and not allow me to." Rebecca said

"He's more likely to think that if we do this behind his back and your ass wont be the only one on the line." Lorelai told her

Becca sighed.

"Put it this way. I'm going to have to tell him if you don't because I'm now worried you are going to get hurt and Derek is the best person to tell. So, if you don't I will." Lorelai said

"Why did you have to grown up?" Rebecca asked with a smile.

"Because I would be dead if I didn't." Lorelai said

Becca sighed. "Fine. I will tell Derek and you can start the background check?" She asked

"You'll tell him tonight?" Lorelai asked

"Yes." Becca said

"Okay. I will do it tomorrow as long as Derek doesn't have any issues with it." Lorelai said

"Thanks. I owe you." Rebecca said

"Of course. That's what sisters do you don't owe me anything." Lorelai said

The girls went back to the group and soon the meal was served, and everyone ate. Afterwards everyone helped clean up and such. The end of the night came when everyone had left with containers of leftovers that JJ & Emily helped Rossi put together.
