Rebecca and Lorelai were sitting at a local coffee shop. They were waiting for Kevin. Rebecca was going to tell him the truth but didn't want to do it alone. Lorelai had agreed to be there with her as much as she didn't particularly want to see Kevin, but she would do it for Rebecca. Kevin had told them he was going to be in town a few weeks before and he wanted to see them both. If Rebecca hadn't convinced Lorelai she would not have been there.

Kevin came in and looked around and saw them. He went and ordered a coffee and than came over and sat with them. "Hello. Thank you both for coming." Kevin said as he sat down across from them.

"Of course." Rebecca said

"Well to be honest I am only here to support her." Lorelai told him

"I don't blame you. But I'm glad you're here. I owe you both an amends." He told them

"An amends? Are you in AA?" Lorelai asked

"NA." Kevin said

"Oh." Lorelai said

"And I know I hurt you with my drug usage. In more ways than one." He said looking at Lorelai

Lorelai sighed.

"Lorelai I am really sorry. I know I did a lot of shitty things and I basically abandoned you when you were pregnant and than when you terminated the pregnancy I was awful to you. I thought if we had a baby we could work out. I know now that was stupid and we were just convenient." Kevin said. "And I know you hate my father and frankly I don't blame you he did nothing to help, and I wish I understood why but I really don't." Kevin added

Lorelai nodded. "You are not responsible for the choices of your father, and I know why he didn't do anything to end the abuse…"

"What?" Kevin said looking confused.

"He told me why." Rebecca said

Kevin looked over at Rebecca. "What? When?" He asked

Becca sighed. "A few months ago."

Kevin looked even more confused.

"I hesitate to tell you this given you're in recovery and I don't want you to relapse, but you have the right to know." Rebecca said

"Fuck. What did he do now?" Kevin asked

"Its not so much what he did now as what he did over two decades ago." Rebecca said

"Just spit it out trust me nothing will surprise me." Kevin said

Becca nodded. "Your father and Jessica were having an affair…And it produced at least one child….Me."

Kevin's jaw dropped. He stood corrected something could surprise him with his father. "Oh god…" he said as it clicked for him.

"Yeah. That was my reaction when I realized…." Becca told him

"We.. Were.. oh god." Kevin said

"Yup. We did things that are disgusting given the information." Rebecca said

"Are you going to be okay?" Lorelai asked.

"Yeah. No. I'm okay. Just processing." Kevin said

Both women nodded.

"I cant believe he had an affair with that woman, but everything makes sense." Kevin told them

"Yeah knowing that explains a lot." Rebecca told him

"I have to tell my mother this…" Kevin said

"Yeah. I agree she has the right to know…" Lorelai told him

"That's for another day but Rebecca I owe you an amends too. I didn't exactly treat you well either." Kevin said

Rebecca nodded. "Its forgiven."

Kevin looked to Lorelai

Lorelai sighed. "Give me time."

Kevin nodded. He understood the need for time.

"So on to better topics how are you two doing?" Kevin asked

"I'm doing really good. I'm happier than I have ever been." Lorelai told him

"That's good. I'm really happy for you." Kevin said. "You deserve it."

He looked to Rebecca.

"My life is currently complicated but its getting better. Was dating a guy for awhile he was a douche though." Rebecca told him

"Sorry…" He said

"Meh. I don't need a man to be happy." Rebecca said

Kevin chuckled. "No, you don't."

"As for the rest of my life I am doing okay." Rebecca said

"Good. I'm sure the good will come for you too." Kevin said

Lorelai smiled. "She will get there. And if you keep working the steps you will get there too."

"Yeah. I hope so. Getting sober has made me see things I was ignoring when high all the time its definitely not easy." He said

"Well, I cant imagine what its like to get sober, but I know you can do it. And as long as you keep working the steps and trying you have a friend in me." Lorelai said

Kevin nodded.

"Yeah. Same goes for me. And technically were siblings so you've got me." Rebecca said

Kevin nodded. "Its so weird."

"Yeah it really is." Becca said

The three of them drank their coffees and talked for awhile catching up on the things they had missed in each others lives. Lorelai was still on guard she was not ready to forgive him yet, but she was willing to give it a try.
