Lorelai went home and took a much-needed nap. When she woke up her she was in a lot of pain and could barely move her hand.

At the station the team quickly started getting their answers and in the end arrested both Randy and Mr. Franklin. Turned out Randy's alibi's had been bought and he and Mr. Franklin were both guilty of these crimes. They just needed to do paperwork. The team had been informed of what happened with Lorelai and Reid texted her.

'Hey. I heard what happened. I'm so sorry about your mother. How are you feeling? How is the hand?'

Lorelai used her good hand and looked at the text and pressed call and put it on speaker.

"Hey." Spencer said answering the phone.

"My hand. It really hurts… A lot more than before…" She said

"Okay. Do you need to get an x-ray?" He asked causing the rest of the team to look up.

"Yeah. I think I do." Lorelai said

"Okay. Do you want me to come and take you?" Spencer asked

"Tell her its either you or me." Aaron told him

"Did you hear that?" Spencer asked

"Yeah… I was about to call a cab you are all working this case.." Lorelai said

"Case is done. Just paperwork left I can finish it later. I'm on my way." Spencer said

Lorelai sighed. "Okay. I'll wait for you."

"Good. I'll be there as soon as I can." Spencer said hanging up and getting up.

"Keep me updated please." Aaron said

"Of course." Spencer said as he left and went to Lorelai's place and picked her up.

She had ice on her hand when she got into his car.

"Good you are icing it." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded.

"Thank you for calling and telling me the truth." Spencer said

"Well, I promised my dad, but you had texted me and it was easier to just hit call in the text." Lorelai said

Spencer nodded "Well he knows too."

Lorelai nodded. "I know"

"Do you want to talk about it?" Spencer asked

"You angry with me?" Lorelai asked

"Why would I be?" He asked

"Because I punched a wall." She said

"No. I understand you are hurting. Now I don't necessarily think that was the best way to handle it, but I understand you probably weren't really thinking." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded.

"I promise I'm not angry with you." Spencer said

"Good." She said

"Did someone say they were?" Spencer asked

"No. I'm angry with myself thought. I'm better than that." Lorelai said

"You're not perfect and that's okay." He said

"I'm also angry that I let my feelings get in the way of knowing her before she died." Lorelai said

"No. You did nothing wrong. That woman didn't do her job as a mother and take care of you. You are not responsible for her, and you needed to put your mental well being first and that is what you did. Do not be angry with yourself for that." Spencer said as he pulled into the hospital.

"I'll try but I'm not making any promises." Lorelai said

"Your dad told me you might want to get to know your bio-father." Spencer said as he parked

"Yeah. I'm considering it. If he is really getting help. He will never be my dad but he's part of me." Lorelai told him as she unbuckled and got out.

Spencer got out as well and they headed inside. "I will go with you if you want. "He said

Lorelai nodded and checked herself in and the two of them went to the waiting room to wait.

Lorelai leaned her head against his shoulder.

Spencer took her good hand and held it.

It wasn't long before she was called in and her and Spencer went to the back and a doctor came in.

"Agent Hotchner you hurt your hand?" The doctor asked.

"You can call me Lorelai and yeah. Um. Punched a brick wall." She said

The doctor nodded and looked at her hand.

"When did this happen?" The doctor asked

"A few hours ago. It didn't hurt that much at first. Maybe the adrenaline. I took a nap and when I woke up it was a lot of pain and cant move my fingers." Lorelai said

The doctor nodded. "Okay. We will need an x-ray to confirm."

"Yes doctor I understand." Lorelai said

The doctor arranged for the x-ray and transport was brought and she was taken down to x-ray. Spencer went back to the waiting room and texted Hotch. 'She has been sent to x-ray.'

Hotch looked at the text and nodded 'Thanks for letting me know.'

Lorelai was brought back to a room and Spencer was told what room. Lorelai was laying on the bed eyes closed when Spencer came in

"Hey. You okay?" Spencer asked

Lorelai nodded. "They gave me something for the pain…"

"That's good. You were in a lot of pain." Spencer told her

"I guess." She said

"Did you not agree to the meds?" He asked

"No. I did. But…" Lorelai said

"Lorelai. You are not a drug addict. You do not have the gene clearly. You are so scared to take drugs but maybe the addiction your parents have/had have nothing to do with genetics." He told her softly.

Lorelai nodded.

Spencer moved in close. "Can you open your eyes and look at me?"

Lorelai opened her eyes.

"You can take pain killers for pain. Don't let your fear keep you in pain when you don't have to be." He said. "I promise you. I know what a drug addiction looks like. From both sides and you Lorelai do not have that problem. And if it ever becomes a problem you have a family of people who would get you the help you need." He said softly kissing her forehead.

Lorelai nodded tears in her eyes.

"Hey. No crying." He said softly

Lorelai chuckled a bit.

"That's better." Spencer smiled. "You are so strong and brave, and you will get through this like you have everything else."

Lorelai smiled. "God how did I get so lucky to have found you."

"I'm the lucky one." Lorelai said

"How about we agree we are both lucky?" Spencer asked

"Deal." Lorelai said

The doctor had come in in the middle of the moment and waited for a minute. "Sorry to interrupt the moment but I have your results."

Spencer and Lorelai chuckled. "No. Its okay." Lorelai said

"So, is it broken?" Spencer asked

"No. Its not actually. A bad sprain." He said. "We will get it wrapped but can you try moving your fingers for me?" he asked gently taking her wrist.

Lorelai took a breathe and moved them slowly.

"Good." The doctor said. "Would you like a prescription for pain killers?" He asked

Lorelai took a breathe. "I am hoping to be able to mange it with over-the-counter pain killers."

The doctor nodded. "Okay. Well would you like a prescription just in case?"

Lorelai looked down.

Spencer stepped in. "Her bio-parents have drug and alcohol addictions. She is concerned about the possible genetic link."

The doctor nodded. "I completely understand. You know your body better than anyone else. If you decide you cant handle it with other the counter stuff come back, and we can get your something stronger. And if you are truly concerned about a genetic factor you can get DNA testing done and you can find out if you have a genetic predisposition"

Lorelai nodded. "Thank you Doctor."

"Of course." He said.

"Given your career you should be out of the field for at least four weeks. Follow up in four weeks and we can see where you are." He said

"What about flying?" Spencer asked

"She should be fine for that." He said as he left letting her know she was free to go.

A nurse came and took her IV out and she went out to the nurses desk to sign some paperwork.

Spencer went out with her and than out to his car where they started the drive home.

"Call your dad." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded and called him and put him on speaker.

"Hey Lorelai. What's going on?" He asked

"We are on the way home. Its not broken. A bad sprain. At least four weeks I am out of the field. I am fine to travel though." She said

"You're not lying?" he asked

"No dad I swear." She said

"She's not. Its what the Doctor said. She has to follow up in four weeks." Spencer said

"Okay. I trust you Lorelai I just know you can be a little lax when it comes to your own wellbeing." He said

"I know you do. I promise I am trying to be better about it." She said

"I know. I appreciate it." Aaron said, "Any prescriptions you need?" He asked

"No. I was offered stronger pain killers, but I just will deal with over-the-counter pain killers." She said

"Okay. Your choice." Aaron said

"She was told if she needs something stronger to go back and the Doctor will give her something stronger." Spencer said

"Okay." Aaron said

"And when he was made aware of her worries about drug addition in her genes she was told there is genetic testing that can be done to see if the genetic is there." Spencer said

"Spence…" Lorelai said

"Lorelai. No one can make you do the testing. But you don't need to keep that from me." Aaron said

"I know. Sorry." She said.

"Get her home Spencer." Aaron said

"I will and I will make sure she eats." He said

"Thank you Spencer." He said before they hung up the call.

"I'm not hungry." Lorelai said

"When was the last time you ate?" He asked

Lorelai sighed and didn't answer.

"Do not make me ask again." Spencer said

"Breakfast." She said

"And what was breakfast? Coffee?" He asked

Lorelai sighed again.

"When was the last time you had actual food?" Spencer asked

Lorelai looked out the window. "Last night dinner." She said

Spencer nodded. "That was over 24 hours ago wasn't it?"

"Yeah." She said

"Lorelai. You cant go that long without food. And than say your not hungry." He said

"Well, I'm not. Okay." She snapped

Spencer didn't say anything.

Lorelai sighed. "Sorry Spence… Didn't mean to snap."

"What do you want to eat?" He asked

"Whatever. I will eat but I don't really want anything." She said

"How about chicken ceaser salad?" He asked

"Fine." She said

"That's your favorite still right?" he asked

"One of my favorites yeah." She said looking out the window.

"Hey. You okay?" he asked

She nodded.

"You sure?" He asked

She nodded again.

Spencer pulled in through the drive thru and ordered them both food before pulling into a parking spot to eat.

They both ate without much conversation. When they were done Spencer looked at her.

"You sure you're okay?" he asked

She looked down and nodded.

"Look at me please." Spencer said

Lorelai looked up.

Spencer raised an eyebrow. "Are you lying to me."

Lorelai looked away

"Yup. What's wrong?" He said

"I lied." She said

"Lied about what?" He asked

"When I last ate…" She said looking down

Spencer took a breathe. "Look at me." He said firmly

Lorelai looked up.

"When?" He asked

She looked away and Spencer reached over and gently grabbed her chin forcing her to look at him. Looking at her expectantly.

"Spence…"

He took a breathe and shook his head. "When Lorelai." He said a little more sternly.

"I've been really busy. And distracted. And you know how I get…I forget to eat." She said

"Yes. I know this. Stop beating around the bush." He said

"Its been a couple days since I've had a real meal.. I've eaten a bit here and there but nothing with any real nutrients." She said

Spencer let her chin go. "Okay. Well, I am going to be on you to make sure you're eating." He said

"Okay. You don't have to do that I will be more vigilant." She said

"Not going to change my mind." He said

Lorelai sighed. "Fine. But just don't make it obvious I don't need everyone on my case about it." She said

"Fine. But if I notice it becoming a real issue I will tell your dad. Deal?" He asked

Lorelai nodded. "Deal."

"Do not lie to me about it again." He said

Lorelai nodded. "I'm sorry. Wont happen again. I just didn't want you to worry."

"Well, I worry more when you lie about it. It makes me think there is something else going on." He told her

"Spencer I admit sometimes I get caught up in work and forget to eat. I promise it is nothing more than that." She said looking at him

"Okay. I trust you but I'm still going to be on you." He said

"Okay. If that gives you peace of mind I wont argue with it." She told him

He smiled and started the car back up. "Lets get you home."

"Agreed. I need a shower and to sleep." She said

He drove her home and got her inside to where it was quiet.

"I'm home. Spencer's with me." She called out.

No one came. "Hrm. Maybe no ones here. The sitter should be here with Jack and Rachel should be here."

They both went upstairs, and Lorelai knocked on Rachel's bedroom door

"Yes." She heard and went in. Rachel was there with headphones on.

"Hey. Where are Jack and the sitter?" Lorelai asked.

"Dad came home and took Jack out for dinner. Father, son time" Rachel said

"Oh." Lorelai said

"How's you hand? Dad told me." Rachel said

"Bad sprain. I'll be fine." Lorelai said

"How did it happen? Dad never mentioned." Rachel asked

"Doesn't matter." Lorelai said

"Okay. Did someone hurt you?" Rachel asked

Lorelai sighed. "No. Don't worry about it. I'm safe." She told her little sister. "Did you eat?" Lorelai asked

"Yes. I had some leftovers." Rachel said

"How was your day?" Lorelai asked.

Rachel sighed.

"Oh boy. What happened?" Lorelai asked

Spencer tapped her shoulder. "I'm going to go." He said

Lorelai looked up at him and nodded. "Thanks for taking care of me."

"Of course." He kissed her and went.

Lorelai looked back at Rachel. "So, what happened?"

Rachel took out a test and showed her a failing grade.

"Ooph. Did you study?" Lorelai asked

"Yes. I just didn't understand the material." Rachel said

"Did you ask the teacher for extra help?" Lorelai asked

Rachel shook her head and looked down.

Lorelai nodded and sat on Rachel's bed

"Why not?" She asked

Rachel shrugged

"Hey. Look at me." Lorelai said

Rachel turned and looked at her

"I know. I know you had a bad experience with a bad teacher. But you go to a good school. They are good teachers." Lorelai told her

Rachel nodded. "Can you do me a big favor?"

"Depends." Lorelai said

"Don't tell dad. I will talk to the teacher and get the extra help. He is giving a makeup test in a week." Rachel said

"You don't need to get the test signed?" Lorelai asked

"No." Rachel said

Lorelai took a breathe. "Rach. I don't know…"

"Please. If I don't do well on the test next week I will tell him." Rachel said

"Rachel. Dad will understand. If you tell him what happened and what you are doing to make sure it doesn't happen again you're not going to be in trouble." Lorelai said

"I just don't want to disappoint him." Rachel said

"Rach. He doesn't care about the grades as long as you are trying. He's told you that." Lorelai told her

"Yeah but I knew I was struggling, and I didn't ask for the help." Rachel said

"Okay but will you get the help now?" Lorelai asked

Rachel nodded.

"Than tell dad the whole truth and he will understand." Lorelai said

"I cant…" Rachel said

"Do you want my help telling him?" Lorelai asked

Rachel let tears fall

"Hey. Why are you so scared to tell dad? I don't understand." Lorelai said

Rachel took out three other tests for the same class all failing

"Oh boy. Rachel. Okay yeah. He's not going to be happy." Lorelai said. "But you are going to tell him."

"He is going to be so pissed." Rachel said

"I will help you tell him. But you cant keep this from him." Lorelai said wrapping her sister in a tight hug.

They heard the front door open and Aaron calling out that they was home.

Rachel sobbed knowing it was time to face the consequences.

"Hey. Dad. Yes he's going to be annoyed but if you show him all the tests. Tell him your plans to make sure it doesn't keep happening he will be less likely to be angry." Lorelai said

Rachel nodded.

Aaron went upstairs and found his girls and saw Rachel had been crying.

"Hey. What's wrong?" He asked Rachel

Rachel looked down.

Aaron looked at Lorelai.

Lorelai looked at Rachel. "Its better coming from you. But I will tell him if you want me to."

Rachel shook her head and turned back to her desk and handed her dad her tests.

Aaron looked at them and took a breathe. "I see. These are all math."

"Yes daddy." Rachel said

"But she has a plan right Rach." Lorelai gently pushed

"I can handle this Lorelai." Aaron said

"I know…She just…" Lorelai said

"You can stay but I've got it covered." He said

Lorelai nodded.

Aaron sat on the bed. "Rachel. Look at me."

Rachel looked up at her dad

"What happened?" He asked holding up the tests

"I've been struggling. Not understanding. Its getting harder." She said

Aaron nodded. "Have you talked to your teacher?"

"I-I… no." Rachel said

"Okay. Why?" Aaron asked

"I…" Rachel said not finishing her thought

Aaron took a breathe and looked at Lorelai. "Do you know why?"

Lorelai nodded. "But I'm not going to tell you."

Aaron sighed. "Okay. Fair." He looked back at Rachel

"I'm scared…" Rachel said

Aaron nodded as it clicked. "Has this teacher done something to make you uncomfortable?" He asked

"No." Rachel said shaking her head.

"Okay. I understand that doesn't mean your not going to have a fear after what you went through. Have you talked to your therapist about it?" He asked

Rachel nodded.

"Okay. Good." He said

"And I am going to talk to the teacher. Get extra help. He is offering a makeup test for the most recent test." Rachel said

Aaron nodded. "That's good. But why did you wait so long to talk to me. This has been going on for months clearly." He said holding up the tests

"A couple months yes…" Rachel said

Aaron nodded and sighed. "I'm not angry with you."

Rachel looked at him tears in her eyes.

"I'm not happy you didn't tell me sooner but I'm not angry." He said

"I'm sorry daddy." She sobbed.

Aaron wrapped her in a tight hug. "Hey. It's okay. We will figure this out." He said softly

Lorelai squeezed Rachels shoulder before getting up and leaving the room. She knew she wasn't needed there anymore and went to find Jack.

Jack was sitting at the table doing homework.

"Hey Jack. I'm surprised that wasn't done already. You need help?" She asked

Jack shook his head. "I'm okay."

"Okay. Always remember that its okay to need help. Don't be afraid to ask." Lorelai said

Jack nodded and kept working.

"Does dad think your homework is done?" Lorelai asked

Jack nodded a bit.

"Ah. Well get it done before he comes back down." She said

Jack nodded and finished up before long. Aaron came down just as he was finishing. "Jack. I thought you told me you were done."

Jack looked up. "Sorry daddy. Its done now…" He showed him his agenda.

Aaron looked it over and looked at the homework before signing the agenda.

"Jack. I am glad its done but you know the rules. Homework first. Did the sitter not check?" He asked. They had a new sitter an eighteen-year-old who had just graduated from highschool.

Jack shook his head.

Aaron sighed and shook his head. They had been going through sitter after sitter. Each one seemingly worse than the last.

"Its bedtime." Aaron told Jack sending him upstairs to start getting ready.

Aaron looked at Lorelai

"How is your hand?" Aaron asked his oldest daughter

"Not to bad right now." She said

"Thank you for taking care of yourself." Aaron said

"Because I would have any other choice between you and Spencer." Lorelai smiled

Aaron chuckled.

"Hey dad. I know the sitters lately… Haven't been the best." Lorelai said

"No, they haven't." He said

"I have a suggestion…" Lorelai said

"Oh?" Aaron asked

"Becca." Lorelai said

Aaron nodded. "Never thought about that."

"She has always been good with kids. I know she hasn't been making the best decisions lately, but I wouldn't suggest her if I thought it could be a problem." Lorelai said

Aaron nodded. "I know Lorelai. I trust you. And I know Rebecca is a good person. I have no doubts about that. I will think about it, but it might be a good fit."

Lorelai smiled

"I will talk to her about it if I decided okay? Don't mention it to her until than." Aaron said

Lorelai nodded. "I will not say anything."

Aaron nodded.

"Now how are you feeling after today?" He asked

"I'm fine. Tired but fine. I'm going to shower and go to bed.

Aaron nodded. "If you need help rewrapping your wrist tell me."

Lorelai nodded and went off and shower and got ready for bed. She re-wrapped her wrist when she was done and went to bed.
