The next morning Lorelai woke up on the couch. She could smell the bacon cooking. She shifted and whimpered.
Aaron was in the kitchen and heard her and went in.
"What's wrong?" he asked
"My shoulder." She said
Aaron nodded "Do you need to eat something before you can take the pain killers?" He asked
"Yeah. Probably. And I have to take the other medication too." Lorelai said
Aaron nodded. "Making eggs and bacon." He said
Lorelai smiled. "I can smell the bacon."
Aaron smiled.
Lorelai sat up and rubbed at her eyes.
Aaron went back into the kitchen.
Lorelai went upstairs and got the other medication from her bathroom before going back downstairs and to the kitchen.
Aaron served her breakfast. She sat down and started to eat. The other two came down from their rooms and were served their breakfast too before Aaron sat down and joined them. Lorelai took the pain killers and anti-inflammatory medication with her coffee.
"You need to drink water too." Aaron told her
Lorelai smiled and put down the coffee and picked up the glass of water that he had put down in front of her. She drank the glass to appease him.
"Thank you." He said "What are your plans for today ladies? Jack and I are having a father/son day." He told them.
"Library to work on a group project with a few classmates for health class." Rachel told him
"Anyone I know?" Aaron asked
"Nope. We didn't get to pick partners. Teacher picked them. Georgia Hall, Tracy Underwood and Eric Rodgers." She told her dad
Aaron nodded. "Well maybe you will make new friends."
Rachel smiled and nodded.
"I'm going to be taking it easy today. Resting. Having a girls night tonight with Emily, JJ, Penny & Becca. Were going to go to Mazi's" Lorelai said
Aaron nodded. "Sounds fun."
"Jealous." Rachel said with a smile
"I'll bring you back some of their brussel sprouts." Lorelai told her sister with a smile. She knew they were her favorite thing from there.
Rachel smiled. "Yay!"
They finished breakfast and Rachel cleared the table.
"Where are you and daddy going Jack?" Lorelai asked
"Go karting and than to Arby's for lunch." He said
"That sounds like so much fun." Lorelai said with a smile
"Maybe we will have to make a family day of it sometime." Aaron suggested
Lorelai smiled. "Maybe."
"That does sound like fun." Rachel said
"Well maybe in a few weeks when Lorelai's shoulder is healed we can do that." Aaron said "But today is just me and you Jack. Rachel do you need a ride to the library?" he asked
Rachel shook her head. "I was going to take the bus. I don't meet them till later."
"I can drive her." Lorelai offered
"Not with your shoulder the way it is you can no." Aaron said quickly
Lorelai nodded. "Okay. Sorry. You're right."
"I mean it Lorelai you drive before your shoulder is healed and I will ground you till your forty." He told her
Lorelai bit her lip to keep from laughing. She knew laughing right now would do help her situation. "Yes dad." She managed to get out
Aaron nodded. "Jack go get ready."
Jack went off and Rachel did as well.
"Till I'm forty?" Lorelai asked a small smirk escaping her lips
"Lorelai Hotchner wiped that smirk of your face." He said sternly
Lorelai quickly did as instructed. "Okay. Sorry. I understand your serious about me not driving. But forty?"
Aaron shook his head "Okay that was an over exaggeration yes, but you understand what I mean." He said
"I do. I wont drive until my shoulder is healed." She said
"Okay. Good." He said he kissed her head before going to get ready for the day with Jack.
Lorelai went and took a shower and than laid down with an ice pack on her shoulder. She fell back asleep for a few hours.
Rachel took the bus a couple hours later and went to the library to meet up with her study group.
Aaron took his son to the go kart park and they played for a couple hours. Afterwards he took him for lunch.
"Dad. Do you have a girlfriend?" Jack asked
Aaron swallowed the sip of soda choking a bit on it.
"What makes you ask that?" Aaron asked his son
"I heard Rachel talking about it on the phone." Jack said
Aaron took a breathe and nodded.
"I have met a women yes. I will introduce you sometime soon." He assured his son
"Has Rachel and Lorelai met her?" Jack asked
"Nope. Not yet. I will introduce you all at the same time." Aaron told him
"You told Rachel about her though." Jack said
"No Jack I didn't. Your sisters figured it out on their own. They don't know anything about her yet." Aaron said
Jack nodded. "When do we get to meet her?"
"Soon buddy." Aaron said with a small smile. Aaron knew he couldn't keep Beth hidden from his kids forever and he didn't want to. His triathlon was the next week and he figured that would be the best time to introduce his kids to the women he has been seeing.
"Next weekend at my race she will be there you will be there." He told him
Jack smiled "Okay!"
They finished eating and they went home.
At home Lorelai was binge watching a medical drama on Netflix she looked up when she heard them come in the room.
"How was it?" Lorelai asked
"Fun. Jack picked it up very quickly." Aaron said
"That might be a good thing or bad thing when he started driving." Lorelai said with a chuckle
"Slow down there. Rachel's not even there yet." Aaron said
Lorelai nodded with a smirk.
"You rest?" He asked
"Yes dad. I iced my shoulder for awhile and laid down in bed. Now I am sitting here just watching TV. My shoulder doesn't hurt all that much." She told him
"Good. So. Jack overheard Rachel talking and now knows I'm dating someone." Aaron said
"Overheard her talking to me?" Lorelai asked
"No. But have you two been talking about her?" Aaron asked with a raised eyebrow
"Um. Yeah. A little." Lorelai said
Aaron sighed and sat down. "Go ahead ask your questions."
"What's her name?" Lorelai asked
"Beth Clemmons. Don't you dare use that to do a background check." He warned her
"I wouldn't do that unless you asked." Lorelai assured him
Aaron nodded.
"She knows about Rachel, Jack & me?" Lorelai asked
"Of course." He said. "And she wants to meet all of you."
"How did you meet?" Lorelai asked
"During training for the triathlon, she is training for her own." He said
Lorelai nodded. "When are we going to meet her?"
"Next weekend. At the triathlon." Aaron said
Lorelai smiled "I look forward to it."
"Good. Any other questions?" He asked
"Are you introducing us because you plan to take it to the next level?" Lorelai asked
"I'm not proposing no. Its just time you get to know each other." Aaron told her
Lorelai nodded. "Okay. I want to get to know her too. She is important to you."
"She is. But she will never be more important to me than you. Or your brother or sister. Okay?" He asked
Lorelai smiled and nodded. "I know."
"Good. What time are you heading out for your evening?" He asked her
"Becca is picking me up at 5:30." Lorelai said
"Is it just dinner?" He asked
"Dinner and talking. Probably close the place out." She said
"Okay. Have fun." He said with a smile
Lorelai nodded.
Not long after that conversation Rachel came home, and Aaron had a similar conversation with her.
Unfortunately, the team got called out on an emergency case a few hours later and girls night had to be canceled.
Lorelai ordered in dinner for them that evening and Rebecca ended up coming over and they spent the night just hanging out.
