The next morning. They both woke up with the sunrise. Lorelai yawned and stretched. Spencer stretched as well and looked over at her.

"Morning beautiful." He said

She smiled. "Morning handsome."

"How did you sleep?" Spencer asked

"Better then I have in awhile." She said

"Oh? You haven't been sleeping well?" He asked

"Been having nightmares…" She said

"Oh. Been talking about it in therapy?" He asked

She nodded.

"Do you want to talk about it with me?" Spencer asked

"About the day I killed Dillion and…. my father. About Kevin hating me and never wanting to talk to me again." Lorelai said

"Have you talked to him since it happened?" Spencer asked

"Yes. I talked to him not long after." She said thinking back to that day

*Flashback*

Lorelai went to her room and took a breathe before calling Kevin

Kevin answered. "Lorelai. Hi." He answered. "Was wondering when I was going to be hearing from you." He said

"Kev.. I didn't have a choice." She told him

Kevin sighed. "Sure, about that?"

"Kevin. Yes. I don't take a life that easy. If there was another option. If I could have just apprehended him. It was me against two people who had guns as well." She said

"Fine. You were just doing your job." He said

"But we still aren't okay?" She asked

"No Lorelai were not. You killed my father." He said

"I killed my own father too you know." She said. "And you probably don't even know the half of what your father did. But you know he made some bad choices. Allowed Rebecca. His own daughter to be abused. He allowed me and countless others to be abused. He allowed so many of those same girls to be abducted and sold into sex trafficking and most of them ended up being murdered. And that's just the stuff we know." She continued. "He had a gun pointed at me. He had several police officers held hostage. What was I supposed to do Kevin. Would you have preferred to go to my funeral?" She asked

"That is not what I said Lorelai." Kevin said

"Well, that tell me what you think I should have done?" Lorelai asked

"I don't know Lorelai. But it doesn't mean I'm not grieving" Kevin said

"I get that. I'm not telling you not to grieve. I understand this is hard. I just wanted to make sure you know I did what I had to in a really bad situation." She said

"I get that too." He said

"If you want to hate me. If that will help you, I will accept that." She said

"I don't hate you. Just need time." He said

"Okay. Is your mom okay?" Lorelai asked

"Yeah. She's okay." Kevin said

"And you? I mean your handling the grieving okay?" She asked

"I'm going to a lot of NA meetings but yes I am doing okay." He said

"Good. You know if you want to talk I'm always here." Lorelai said

"I know. And Rebecca has told me the same thing." Kevin said

"Good." She said

"I have somethings I need to do. We will talk later." Kevin told her

"Okay. Talk to you than." She said before they hung up.

*end of flashback*

"And?" He asked

"He told me he needed time. He hasn't called me since. I know he's doing okay because he still talks to Becca. I just think he's done with me." She said

"I'm sorry. Maybe you can try and reach out?" He suggested

Lorelai nodded. "How did you sleep?" she asked changing the subject

"Very well." He said

She smiled.

"You hungry?" He asked

Lorelai nodded.

"Let's get some breakfast." Spencer said sitting up slowly.

Lorelai nodded and sat up as well.

Spencer climbed out of the bed of the truck. Lorelai moved to edge as well and Spencer helped her out.

They got into the truck and Spencer started to drive. Lorelai looked in the mirror above her fixing her hair. "Wow this is what I look like after a good night sleep." She said

Spencer smiled and shook his head. "You look beautiful. Like always."

"Thanks." She said with a smile

He pulled into a local breakfast café, and they went inside. They talked while they ate breakfast. When they finished up Lorelai grabbed the bill and paid for it. The two headed back to the truck and started driving again.

"I can bring you home first or drop the truck off to Derek and pick up my car and drop you home after." Spencer said

"I'll go with you to Derek's" She said with a smile.

"Okay. Text him. Let him know we are on our way." He said

Lorelai texted Derek. 'Spencer and I are on our way to drop your truck off."

Derek texted back that he would see them soon.

Lorelai relayed the message. Spencer went and filled up the truck with gas before driving to Derek's.

Derek and Spencer trades keys and Spencer got all the things from the back of the truck and put them in his own car before he and Lorelai started the drive to her place. When they got there Spencer walked her to the door.

"Thank you again. It was the perfect date." Lorelai said. "And thank you for going and finding my sketchbook. I wont ever be able to thank you enough for all you do for me."

Spencer smiled. "All you need to do is keep that promise."

"I will." Lorelai said

Spencer kissed her softly. "And I will see you at work. Tomorrow." He told her

Lorelai smiled and nodded and kissed him back and went inside.

Spencer left and went home.

Lorelai went to the kitchen. "Hey sorry. I should have texted you I wasn't going to be home last night."

Aaron smiled. "Spencer did. I knew you were safe with him."

"Oh. He didn't mention. Good I'm glad." Lorelai said

"You had a good night?" He asked

"Yes. It was the perfect date." Lorelai said with a smile

"Good. What's that?" He asked indication to the sketch book.

"Um. My first sketch book." Lorelai said

"Oh. You brought it to show Spencer?" Aaron asked

"Um. No." She sat down at the table.

"Want to explain?" He asked

Lorelai took a breathe and told him the whole story.

Aaron listened and nodded a few times. "I take it not many people know about this?" Aaron asked

"You and Spencer." Lorelai said

"Not even Becca?" Aaron asked

Lorelai shook her head. "I was already the 'oldest' in the home at that point. I had seen Jessica hitting the older girls before they disappeared. In that moment I knew that I needed to protect the younger ones. So, no I didn't tell anyone."

"Your therapist?" Aaron asked

Lorelai shook her head.

"Lorelai. This is why you need to talk about these things. With someone." Aaron said. He wasn't angry just frustrated.

"I know. I should have. I will now." Lorelai said

"Okay." He said. "So, what was the date last night?"

"We went for dinner at the Chinese place. Than we went to the field off the look out point and laid in the back of the truck where he had set up some blankets and pillows and we looked up at the stars." She said

"Truck?" He asked

"Oh. He borrowed Derek's truck." Lorelai said

"Where did you go after?" He asked, "Spencer's place?"

"No. um. We slept in the back of the truck." Lorelai said

Aaron nodded. "I see. And you slept well?"

"The best I have in awhile." She said

Aaron nodded. "Okay. Did you have breakfast?"

"Yes we went to the café." She told him

"Okay." He said

They talked a bit before Lorelai went to take a shower and get ready for the rest of the day
