Authors note: This chapter takes place between seasons 9 & 10. Blake has left the team and Kate has not yet been hired. The women are in London visiting Emily.

Lorelai was hiding behind a brick wall. Her gun held against her chest. The room was dark with only a few flickering lights. Her heart was pounding inside her chest. She was about to turn the corner when she heard the buzzing from her vest. She looked up to see Emily standing there a smirk on her face. "Oh, come on!" Lorelai groaned.

The lights came on in the laser tag arena. Lorelai and Emily were the only ones left on the field and Emily had just taken her out.

Emily laughed.

Lorelai smiled and shook her hand. "You won. Good game."

The two of them got off the field where the rest of the group was waiting.

JJ, Penny, Rebecca & Lorelai were in London visiting Emily. They had been seeing the sites and immersing themselves into the culture but that day they had all wanted to do something different. Emily had been at this laser tag arena about a month before for a case and the owners were so grateful they invited her to come back with some friends for a free game. Of course, Emily refused to not pay but she had agreed to bring her friends, and this was the perfect opportunity. They check the time. Their time was about to be up anyways. They had played a few games. They went and returned their laser gun and vests.

"There is a bar a couple doors down. Lets go get a drink." Emily suggested.

They all agreed thanking the owner and headed out. They got into the bar and found a table.

Emily and Rebecca went to the bar to get everyone's drinks.

"So, tell me about your guy." Emily said to her

Becca chuckled "Lorelai tell you?"

"No. I heard you on the phone last night." Emily said with a smile

"Oh. Well okay. His name is Theodore. Everyone calls him Teddy or Theo though. He is a bartender. hopes to own his own bar someday. He's incredibly sexy. He's a red head. Um. We met at the bar he works at." Becca said

Emily smiled. "So haven't known him long if it was at a bar you met him."

"Well. Um. I was underage. Don't worry I got busted. It was before you left. Derek must have told you." Becca said

"I remember him mentioning something about you going to a bar. Yes. He didn't mention a guy though." Emily said

"Yeah. We didn't start dating till I was twenty-one. I went back to the bar when I was twenty-one and we started dating then." Becca said

"Does your dad know?" Emily asked

"He has spent the night on more than one occasion. Yes my dad knows." Becca said

"Well, I didn't know. And for the record I wouldn't have told him. You're a grown woman. He doesn't have to know about everything." Emily said

"I appreciate that." Becca said

They grabbed everyone's drinks and headed back to the table. Lorelai set her phone down and looked up grabbing her drink from the mix.

"How's Spencer?" Emily asked with a smirk

Lorelai chuckled. "He's doing okay. He practically had to force me to not back out of this trip after he got hurt. I have been assured that he is being well taken care of."

"Derek is keeping tabs on him." Penny said

"I know. Doesn't mean I don't worry." Lorelai said

"Understandable." JJ said. "Will calls him often to check in too for the record."

Lorelai smiled. "Tell him I say thank you."

JJ nodded.

"I hear the team is down a member again." Emily said

"Yeah. Alex Blake. She got a teaching position in Boston." JJ said

"That means there is an opening. You could come back." Lorelai said with an innocent smile

Emily chuckled. "I'm happy here. I miss you all like crazy, but I like my position here."

They all understood.

"So, you staying out of trouble?" Emily asked Lorelai

Lorelai chuckled "Yes. I have not been on probation for awhile."

"You would be impressed. There is a reason you two were the ones taking turns winning at laser tag. She has come along way. She is quite the agent." JJ said

Lorelai blushed abit. "Well, I learned from some kick ass female agents."

Emily smiled and looked at Becca. "You enjoying the babysitting still?" She asked

Becca nodded. "I'm also getting my law degree. Thankfully I have been able to work my courses around the hours I am needed to babysit. With the two of them being old enough to be on their own for a few hours after school I am able to make it work."

Emily nodded. "Good for you. Lawyer. Aaron helping you with that?"

"He has offered. Several times but its something I need to do on my own." Becca said

"Yes. She is very stubborn about that. Not that I don't understand." Lorelai said

"Drives Derek nuts." Penny said.

"That I don't ask for help?" Becca asked

"No. That you are running yourself ragged." Penny said

"I'm fine. Busy but fine." Becca said

"Okay." Penny said with a small smile.

"Your not burning your candle at both ends are you?" Emily asked

"No. I promise. I'm fine." Becca said

The rest of the group looked at each other but their changed the subject. They ordered more drinks and some food.

"How is Rossi handling being a dad?" Emily asked

"He's good. He is adopting her soon." Lorelai said

"That's great. It took awhile though?" Emily asked

"Her biological father was using every possible trick in the law books." Becca said. "The case has helped me learn a lot about family law."

"Speaking of family, you have a biological uncle right?" Emily asked Lorelai

"Yes. I've gotten pretty close to one of my cousins. She is looking into school in DC. I'm showing her around my alma mater in a few weeks." Lorelai said. "My uncle has helped me learn a lot about where I came from. As well as an old friend of my mothers before she passed away." Lorelai said

"Well, that's good." Emily said

"Law enforcement is in her blood." Penny said

"Really?" Emily asked

Lorelai nodded. "My uncle Grandfather and his brother, Great Grandfather, many generations back. My bio father broke the mold."

"And you fixed it." JJ said

Lorelai smiled.

"What about your mother?" Emily asked

Lorelai took a breathe. "My biological grandmother passed away in childbirth. Grandfather is in prison. I looked him up. He is there for a string of rapes and yes my bio mother was the product of one of those rapes."

"Damn." Emily said

Lorelai nodded.

"Does that mean you might have biological family that you would not know about?" Becca asked

Lorelai nodded. "There were other kids that came from that man, but I don't care to know them."

"How do you know that for sure?" JJ asked

Lorelai took a breathe.

"Used FBI resources to find it out?" Emily asked

Lorelai sighed. "Something like that."

"We wont say anything." JJ said. Looking at Penny and Emily. "Right?"

Emily nodded.

"Yup." Penny said quickly

"But you already knew." Emily said looking at Penny

Penny sighed.

"I bribed her. Its on me." Lorelai said

They all agreed to keep it quiet. There was no need to share with the others.

When the time came to pay their were told the bill had been paid by someone in the group who choose to remain anonymous. They all looked at each other but the person responsible didn't give themselves away. They all went back to Emily's place.

This was their last day in London. They were heading home the next day. Everyone went and started to pack, Lorelai finished first and sat down on the couch. Emily came over with a cup of tea and handed it to Lorelai before sitting down as well.

"Thanks." Lorelai said with a smile

"When did the habit of winding down with tea start?" Emily asked

Lorelai took a breathe. "In the foster home. Grade nine. It was exam time, and I was very stressed. It was the only time my foster mother ever showed any kind of care for me. She brought me a cup of tea while I was studying late one night. Told me to drink it and go to bed. That I had studied enough and if I didn't know it by than I never would. And it wasn't meant in a mean way. She meant that she knew I was capable. Than every night for the whole of the time I was studying for exams that year she did the same thing. I don't know if she was just having a good couple weeks but from that time on I always drank a cup of tea before going to bed. And you know what it does help. It never happened again after those weeks. Not during any other year of exams but yeah."

"Wow. So, there is one good memory with her." Emily said

"Yes. But it doesn't out weight the bad." Lorelai said

"Nope. I can agree with that." Emily said

Lorelai nodded. "But the tea thing did stick."

Emily nodded. "So, your biological grandfather. In prison. I saw the look on your face. Have you gone to meet him?"

Lorelai shook her head. "No. He doesn't need to know about me. I don't need to add more drama to my life."

"You know that nurture has far more effect on who you become than nature right?" Emily asked

"Than why aren't I a raging bitch the way Jessica was? Why did I become law enforcement like so many generations?" Lorelai asked

"Coincidence." Emily said. "I have done the research for a case here a few months ago. The genetic link with rapists is false. And if you were going to be like that you would already been committing those crimes. And unless you are really good at hiding your true nature." She said

"Okay. What about my children in the future." Lorelai said

"With parents like you and Spencer not a chance in hell. And there is no genetic link with rapists. I can get you the research if you want." Emily said

Lorelai nodded.

"And on the off chance that it was a possibility consider this. Maybe your genetics from your biological fathers side overpowers from your mothers." Emily said

Lorelai smiled. "Well, my biological father wasn't exactly a good man."

"But he comes from good people right?" Emily said

Lorelai nodded. "True. Thanks that helps."

"And your dad. And the entire team would kick your ass if you started to do any of the things your biological father did. I would fly down to help." Emily said

Lorelai chuckled.

"You are a good person. We all know that. I have known that since the first time you were undercover." Emily said

"Thanks." Lorelai said

"Of course." Emily said

"So enough about me. Any guys on your horizon?" Lorelai asked

Emily shrugged. "There might be someone." She said

"Wait. What? I was kidding. Why the heck haven't we been introduced?" Lorelai asked

"Its very new that's why" Emily said

"JJ, Penny, Becca get out here. Emily has been keeping secrets." She called out with a smirk

The three of them came out with curiosity

Emily sighed. "I should have just said no."

Lorelai chuckled. "She's dating someone."

"What?" Penny asked.

"Who is he?" JJ asked

"There isn't much to tell. Its very new. His name is Mark. That's all you get." Emily said

"Oh, come on! That's not fair." Penny said

"Tough." Emily said with a smirk.

"How did you meet?" JJ asked

"I've got nothing else to say." Emily said

They continued to try and get information, but Emily didn't give them anymore information. Eventually everyone who needed to went to finish packing than they all stayed up talking into the early morning. They could sleep on the flight home after all.
