It had been four weeks since Lorelai had surgery. She was still at home recuperating. She was tired of being at home. She had been cleared to start getting back into work. She still wasn't cleared to work in the field. But she was going into the office and helping out where she could.

It was a Thursday afternoon, and the squad room was empty. They were working a case locally and everyone was out following leads. Lorelai looked up to see an Agent escorting Becca's ex Teddy over to her desk.

"Thanks Agent I can take it from here." She said standing up

The other agent left. Lorelai took a breathe. "You better have a good reason for being here." She said

"Well. I'm worried about Becca. I haven't heard from her in over a month. She's avoiding my calls. She's never home when I try to go talk to her." Teddy said

"Um. Well, when you break up with someone the communication tends to be cut off." Lorelai said confused

"Wait. Who broke up with who?" Teddy asked now equally confused.

"You… Broke up with Becca." Lorelai said almost asking at this point.

"No. I did not." Teddy said. "Did she tell you I broke up with her?" Teddy asked

"Yes. She did. What happened the last time you two were together?" Lorelai asked

"I could tell she was dealing with somethings, and she wasn't okay. I asked her about it. She said she didn't want to talk about it. And I didn't push it. Than she said something about how if I knew everything I would run screaming. I told her there wasn't much she could tell me that would make me run. And than she started freaking out and yelling and she left. I figured I'd give her a couple days to calm down and she never called. And I cant get in contact with her. I'm really worried." He said

Lorelai sighed. "She has been dealing with shit. She told me that you broke up with her because she was to much 'drama.'"

"No. That isn't true. I promise." Teddy said

Lorelai took out her phone and called Becca.

Becca answered. "Hey. What's up?"

"Where are you?" Lorelai asked

"Just finished up with classes. I'm about to head to your place to borrow one of your dad's books why?" Becca asked

"Well. I'm almost done work. Why don't you stay at my place. We can do dinner. Rachel has volleyball practice. Jack has a soccer practice, and my dad is coaching so we can hang out and talk." Lorelai said

"Sounds amazing. I need a good girls chat." Becca said

"I'll see you in an hour." Lorelai said before they hung up. She looked up at Teddy. "Be prepared for her to be pissed. But you are coming with me." She said

"You sure that's the best idea?" He asked

"When Becca gets scared. She runs. She's been doing it since we were kids." Lorelai said

"Wait. You've known her since you were kids?" Teddy asked

"Damn, she hasn't told you anything about her past has she?" Lorelai asked

"Not much. Didn't you grow up in that really bad foster home in Idaho?" He asked

Lorelai sighed.

"Sorry.. I mean.. I saw the news report a few months ago." he said

Lorelai nodded. "Becca never told you she grew up in that home too?

"Nope." Teddy said

Lorelai sighed "Well not my place to tell you anything really. But yes we grew up as sisters. No one knows more what we went through than the two of us. But if I had to guess. She saw a real future with you and got scared."

Teddy nodded.

Lorelai typed a few things in her computer and shut it down. She sent a text to her boss. 'Hotch. I need to help a friend with something. I will make up the missed paperwork tomorrow.'

Lorelai went with Teddy and had him follow her to her place. Becca was already there.

Lorelai went inside Teddy behind her. She led him to the family room and told him to sit while she went to the office where Becca was.

"Hey. Look. I know your probably going to hate me, but you lied to me, so I wasn't prepared when Teddy showed up at the office today." Lorelai said

"Wait what?" Becca asked

"He didn't break up with you. You ran. You saw a real future with him and got scared. Right?" Lorelai asked

Becca sighed. "If he knew the truth. He would run."

Lorelai shook her head. "Than why is he sitting in my family room waiting to talk to you even after he found out we grew up together in that home. He knows my story. I'm guessing he is figuring out you went though some of what I did too. And he is here. He wants to talk to you."

"WHAT? He's HERE?!" Becca said she got up and tried to get around Lorelai.

She blocked her. "I will not let you get passed me if you are just going to run."

"Lets not forget I am just as strong as you." Becca said

"But I am stronger." Teddy said from behind. He had heard enough. He knew Becca knew he was there.

Becca looked up at him. His arms crossed.

Lorelai walked away to let them talk.

Teddy stood where Lorelai was. "You are not going anywhere till we talk." He said

Becca looked down.

"Babe. Why didn't you tell me?" He asked

"Tell you what? That I grew up in a hell hole where I was abused everyday. When I finally got out of there. I ended up being abducted and sold into sex trafficking. That I watched some of the people I loved the most murdered right next to me. That the last time a man told me he loved me the next day he started abusing me. That I found out the home I grew up in the woman who raised me as her foster daughter. Was my biological mother who had an affair with the police chief and created me. That he left me in that home to be abused. That he didn't bother to tell me or his son before we ended up sleeping together. That just a month ago that brother took me Lorelai and three children hostage because he was angry. That I never have been in a relationship that I truly felt safe till you. Than you said you loved me." She said tears streaming down her face.

Teddy took a breathe and wrapped her in a tight hug. "None of that is going to scare me away." He said softly.

Becca tried to fight against the hug as she completely broke down.

Teddy just held her tighter as she punched at his chest.

"I'm not going anywhere Becca." He said

Becca was just so tired. She stopped fighting and just sobbed into him.

Teddy continued to hold her. Once she calmed down. He lead her over to the couch and sat down and pulled her into his lap and just held her close.

Becca curled into his lap and closed her eyes.

"Becca I love you. I would never hurt you. Not once." Teddy said

Becca nodded.

"I promise." Teddy said

Lorelai had gone to take a shower and when she came back down she peaked into the room. She saw Becca looking asleep in his arms. She smiled and went into the kitchen and started to make dinner.

About 20 minutes later Teddy came into the kitchen. "She fell asleep." He said

Lorelai nodded. "She has been burning her candle at both ends. Between school, work and her personal things she hasn't had a break in awhile."

Teddy nodded.

"You okay?" She asked

"Just. I wish I had known what she had been through." Teddy said

"Its hard to talk about our pasts. It took me along time to confide in people and someone decided to tell a journalist my story and the world knows at this point. She probably is scared of the same thing happening to her." Lorelai told him

"Did you ever find out who told?" Teddy asked

"Nothing confirmed but I have a feeling I do know who did it." She said

Teddy nodded again.

"I'm making dinner. Your both staying." She said with a smile

Teddy chuckled. "I take it you wont take no for an answer."

"Nope. I wont. Do you have any food issues?" she asked

Teddy shook his head. "Nope."

Lorelai nodded and kept cooking

Teddy went and checked on Becca who was waking up abit.

"Hey. You need sleep." He said softly

She shook her head and mumbled. "I'm okay."

Teddy shook his head and smiled. "Lies."

Becca opened her eyes a bit.

"I know you've been over working yourself." He said.

"No. I'm fine." She said sitting up.

Teddy sat next to her and put an arm around her. "When was the last time you had a day off?" he asked "Where you did nothing."

"I – well… um…" She said

"Exactly." He said

Becca leaned her head on his shoulder.

"We are staying for dinner. Your friend doesn't take no." He said

Becca chuckled. "No, she doesn't."

"Why did you tell her I broke up with you?" He asked

Becca sighed. "I knew she would interfere if she knew…"

Teddy nodded. "Interfere? Or help?" he asked

Becca sighed and nodded.

"You know its okay to ask for help." He said

"I just. I'm so used to having to do everything myself." She said

"You always talk about how you found yourself this amazing family. And while I don't know most of them. Would they not help you in a heartbeat?" He asked

"Oh. They would. 100 precent." Becca said "But… I just."

"Don't like asking for help?" He offered.

Becca nodded.

"I think its time you ask for help." He said

Becca sighed and nodded.

"Because you cant handle everything on your own anymore." He said

"I know. I just. I just. People are depending on me. I cant let them down." She said

"No one can expect you to do everything. Something has to give. Don't think I don't know that your grades have been dropping" He said. "Because you are doing to much." He said

Becca sighed. "How do you know that?" she asked

"You left your laptop opened. It was on the grades page. I wasn't spying I swear it just caught my eye." He said

Becca nodded "I just. There is only one thing I can think of that I could really let go of and I cant…" She said

"What is it?" He asked

"Well, I cant give up school. And that's about to get just that much harder as I have an internship starting soon which means if I'm giving up something its babysitting. And I cant let Aaron down like that. Especially right now. He is giving me a second chance after I royally fucked up." She said

Aaron had just come home with Jack. No one heard them come in. Aaron saw the extra cars in his driveway and knew Rebecca was there, but he didn't know who the other car belonged too. He noticed the light on in his office so he figured Rebecca must have been using his library. He went to say hello, but he heard apart of the conversation she was having with a man he didn't know. He cleared his throat.

Becca looked up. "Oh. Hi. Didn't see you there. Um. Aaron this is Teddy. Teddy this is Aaron Lorelai's father.

The two men shook hands. "We can get out of your office." Teddy said

"No. Not an issue. Becca is always welcome here. And her friends are also." He said

"How much did you hear?" Becca asked

"Enough." Aaron said

Becca sighed.

"I'm going to go see.. If Lorelai needs help." Teddy said getting up and leaving the room

Aaron sat at the opposite end of the couch. "How bad are the grades?"

Becca sighed. "So, you heard a lot."

"I'm not angry. I just want to help." He said

"For the most part they are okay. There was a couple weeks where I got a few grades that weren't great. Not failing by any means but lower than my normal." She said

"Are you being to hard on yourself? Are you like Lorelai where you get upset about a grade below 90?" Aaron asked

Becca chuckled. "No. Not that bad. My average grades are in the 80s the few low grades were high 60s."

"I have noticed you seemed to be very tired lately. I understand the demands of a law degree." Aaron said

Becca nodded

"And on more than one occasion I have offered you help. And I know you said you want to do it on your own but sometimes taking help is necessary." He said

"Lorelai did it all on her own." She pointed out

"Lorelai finished her degree while she wasn't working." He pointed out

"Well, her masters. But when she was doing collage online while still in the home. She worked. Took care of the house. And did a double major." Becca said

"And when she left that home she was not okay. You know that." Aaron said. "And you need to stop comparing yourself to others anyways." Aaron added

Becca nodded.

"Does your dad know what has been going on?" Aaron asked

"No…." Becca said. "I'd rather he didn't." She added

"Okay. Well, I will make you a deal. I wont tell him. But you need to accept help. And you need to tell me what I know you have been avoiding telling me." He said

Becca sighed. "In a month I start an internship for my degree. I will not be able to babysit the kids anymore."

"So, I knew that at some point you would no longer be able to watch the kids when Lorelai and I aren't around." He said

Becca nodded.

"I also knew when I asked you to watch them several years ago that you wouldn't be available for ever. And that's okay." Aaron said

Becca smiled abit. "I love those kids. And I just… I didn't want to..." She said

"To what?" Aaron asked

"I didn't want to let you down." Becca said

"Becca you are not letting me down. Those kids love you too. But I will figure it out." He said

Becca nodded.

"I know you are going to do amazing things. Become an amazing lawyer. But you need to learn to ask for help. And not taking on more than you can handle." He said

Becca nodded. "You're right. I know you're right."

"Where is your internship?" He asked

She told him the name of the law firm

"I've heard good things about them." Aaron said

"Wasn't my first pick to be honest but I'm sure it will be good." She said

"Where was your first pick?" He asked

She told him the name of the law firm she had hoped to be at.

"Well, I have a feeling that would probably be high on most peoples list." He said

"Yup. There was eight of us who wanted that one." She said

Aaron nodded. "Was the one you got on your list at all?" he asked

"Nope. My top five all picked others." She said

"Well. Who knows maybe you were meant to end up at the firm your at for a reason." Aaron said

"Possibly. I'm grateful for the place I got. I'm sure I will learn a lot." She said

Aaron nodded. "I'm sure you will."

Just than they heard the front door open and Rachel calling out that she was home. Lorelai called out that dinner was ready, and everyone came to the table to eat.

Rebecca introduced the kids to Teddy.

They all ate dinner, and everyone helped clean up.

"Thank you for dinner. And Lorelai thank you for.." She started

"Sticking my nose where it doesn't belong?" Lorelai asked with a smirk

"Pretty much." Becca said giving her a hug. "I'll explain everything later."

Lorelai smiled and nodded.

Becca looked at Teddy. "I think we are going to head out."

Everyone said bye to them and the two of them left.

Rachel and Jack went to do homework.

Lorelai grabbed her sketchbook and went and flopped on the couch to draw.

Aaron grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down across from her.

"Yes?" She asked not looking up.

"Didn't Becca and Teddy break up?" He asked

"That's what I thought to. Apparently not. It's a long story." She said

Aaron nodded. "Letting you know. In about a month Becca will not be watching the kids anymore."

Lorelai looked up.

"She has an internship starting she wont be able to any longer." He said

Lorelai nodded. "Makes sense. Do you know what your going to do?"

"Not sure." He said

She nodded again.

"Do you have any ideas?" He asked

"Nope." She answered

"I'll figure it out." Aaron said

Lorelai nodded and went back to her drawing.
