Lorelai was sitting at her desk at work when she got a call to come to the directors office. She took a breathe. The last time she was called to the directors office it ended with her in the hospital having lost her baby. She went and knocked on the door and was told to come in. She went inside and looked around the office to see if anyone else was there. There wasn't.

"Have a seat." The director told her.

Lorelai sat down.

The director handed her a small package that had been sitting on his desk.

"What's this?" She asked taking the package

"Not sure. It is something that was willed to you from Delilah Poppers." He said

Lorelai made a face. "Why did it come to me at work?"

"Due to the situation regarding her forced relocation and everything. It took awhile for everything to be available to be able to be given to the rightful new owners. It was easier for the agents involved to bring it here and for me to give it to you directly." He said

Lorelai nodded "Thank you." She said. "Is there anything else?"

The director nodded. "You know your biological uncle correct? And your cousins?" He asked

"Yes. Pretty well. My cousin goes to university here." She said "Why?"

"Your cousin. Has gotten herself into some trouble. She is here. She is refusing to call anyone for help. Insisting she is innocent. And I don't know how much she knows but the agent on the case think she knows more than she is telling." The director said

"What?! What is the case? What is she suspected of?" Lorelai asked

"Hiding someone who is suspected of murdering his family." The director said

"Oh wow. So, she didn't hurt anyone? Her crime is harboring a fugitive?" Lorelai asked

"That is what the agents think yes." The director said. "The suspect and her have been known to be. Friends. Maybe more." He added

"Can I speak to her?" Lorelai asked

"Yes. That was what I was hoping for." He said

Lorelai took her package and went and put it by her desk before going to talk to the agents involved and than into the interrogation room.

"Oh. Fuck." Hannah said

"Yup. Benefits of being owed favours by half the FBI. I'm told things." Lorelai said

"Well. I'm an adult. I don't need someone to be told when I'm in the FBI." Hannah said

"True. You're an adult. Which means you will be charged as an adult." Lorelai said

"I didn't do anything!" Hannah said

"You know harboring a fugitive is a crime. And makes you an accessory after the fact." Lorelai said

"I don't know where he is!" Hannah said

Lorelai looked at her. "Bullshit."

Hannah narrowed her eyes. "I don't care if you believe me."

"Don't make me call your dad." Lorelai said

"You wouldn't." Hannah said

"Oh yes I will. Unless you start telling the truth." Lorelai said

"If my dad finds out he will kick my ass till I'm 30." Hannah said

"Than start talking." Lorelai said

"You don't understand..." Hannah said

"Than explain it to me." Lorelai said

"I cant…" She said

"Has this guy threatened you?" Lorelai asked

Hannah nodded.

"You do know where he is?" Lorelai asked

"Yes…" Hannah said

"Okay. Has he just threatened you or anyone else?" Lorelai asked

"Just me. He doesn't know who I really am. He doesn't know who my family is." Hannah said.

Lorelai nodded. "This guy have a lot of people who could hurt you or would it be just him you have to worry about?"

"This guy is hated by most. I tried to be his friend. To help him make more friends… No one will help him…" Hannah said

"So, he is the bad boy that every girl meets and falls for?" Lorelai asked

Hannah sighed.

"You know what the charges against him are?" Lorelai asked

"Yes. He is suspected of killing his father and stepmother and stepbrother." Hannah said

Lorelai nodded. "Tell me where he is. And I will make sure you are safe."

"I cant…." She said

"Yes. You can. You're just scared. I understand that. But you tell me, or they will charge you and I will call your dad." Lorelai said

Hannah sighed and crossed her arms.

Lorelai took out her phone and pulled up her uncles number and pressed call and put it on speaker and set it on the table.

Hannah's eyes bulged and she quickly hung up the call.

Lorelai picked up her phone and went to dial again.

"NO! Okay I'll tell you." She said

Lorelai's phone rang. Lorelai held it up. "To late."

She answered "Hey Uncle Matt." She put it on speaker.

"You called than hung up?" he asked

"Not exactly. Um. I called and your daughter hung up the phone. Not wanting me to call you." Lorelai said. "Your on speaker. She is here as well."

"Hannah? What is going on?" Matthew asked his daughter

"Nothing. I don't need your help." She said

Lorelai shook her head. "She was brought into the FBI. She is harboring a wanted man. She has admitted to knowing where he is, and wont tell the FBI where he is."

"Hannah Darcy Green" Was heard through the phone "How long have you been there? Why wasn't I called?" he asked

"She didn't ask for a call. The benefit of being owed favours by the directors. When it was found out that she was my cousin. I was informed." Lorelai said

"And she wasn't going to call you if I told where he is." Hannah said

"Well than you should have told her." Matt said

"What?! You're not going to get angry at her?" Hannah asked

"Nope." Matt said "Now I can get in my car and come down there and put my boot up your ass or you can be the woman your mother and I raised you to be and tell the truth." He scolded.

Hannah sighed. "Yes sir." She said

Lorelai got up and left the room and told the other agents she was ready to talk.

They went in and Lorelai took the call off speaker.

"So, your not annoyed with me?" Lorelai asked her uncle.

"Oh no I am. You should have called me the second you knew. But I wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of getting you in trouble." Matt said

Lorelai sighed. "I'm sorry."

"You promised me that you would keep an eye on her and this happens?" He asked

"Okay. That's not fair. I cant watch her twenty-four seven. And when I heard she was in trouble I went to speak to her immediately." Lorelai said

"Who is this guy she is hiding?" he asked

"I don't know exactly…" Lorelai said

"Isn't it your job to know?" he asked

"Its not my case so no." Lorelai said.

"Well, I expect you to be keeping a closer eye on her from now on." Matt said.

"Yes sir. I'm sorry." She said keeping her voice steady. He was really letting her have it as he lectured, and it was hard for Lorelai to take. She had never received a lecture from him before.

"And I expect a full report when this is all figured out." He said

"Yes sir." She said again.

The call was hung up. Lorelai went to the bathroom and locked herself into a stall and broke down.

A few minutes later someone else came into the bathroom. Lorelai forced herself to stop crying.

Lorelai recognized the shoes and didn't want Penny to hear her crying.

She wiped at her eyes and took a breathe before leaving the stall with a smile on her face. "Hey Penny." She said as she washed her hands.

"Lorelai. Hey!" She said she looked at her and could tell by her red eyes that she had been crying. "What's wrong?" Penny asked

"Hrm?" Lorelai asked

"Your eyes are puffy." Penny said

"Oh. Its nothing." Lorelai said with a smile.

"If you say so." Penny said.

Lorelai went back to the agents in charge of the case. "She tell you everything?"

"We think so. She gave us a location. We are keeping her here until we've got him." The agent said "She's pretty upset though. If you want to go back in you can."

Lorelai nodded and went into the conference room where she had been brought.

"I cant believe he didn't get angry with you." Hannah said annoyed

Lorelai shook her head. "Oh, he did. I got a tongue lashing. Told me that he expected me to be more on top of keeping an eye on you. That I had promised. That I should have called him as soon as I knew. That I should have known more about this guy."

Hannah sighed. "Oh… Sorry… Yeah he's good at the lecturing thing."

"Yup." Lorelai nodded.

"I'm sorry. I should have just told you." Hannah said

"Yes. You should have." Lorelai said

"You going to lecture me?" Hannah asked

"Normally I would but I don't think I can right now." Lorelai said

"Call your dad. Tell him everything. Now." She said

Hannah took out her phone and called her dad.

Lorelai left the room to give her some privacy.

Hannah told her dad the truth about everything. She got her own lecturing from her dad, and she didn't argue with him. When he was done. "I love you Hannah. It is why I worry."

"I know dad." Hannah said "I love you too."

"Do I need to come down there?" He asked

"No. I think Lorelai will be keeping tabs on me." She said "She told me you gave her a lecture. Dad I don't know what you said but I could tell she was hurting because of it…"

Matt sighed. "Maybe I was to hard on her."

"You know. She has an important job. Asking her to watch my every move. Its not realistic." Hannah said

"I know. But she didn't know about this boy?" he asked

"Because I didn't tell her. She calls me three times a week. She has asked me if I've met anyone. I've been lying to her. I knew you wouldn't approve of this guy, and I didn't think she would either.." Hannah said

"So, she has been keeping an eye on you than?" he asked realizing he had come down to hard on his niece.

"Yes." Hannah said

"She's not in the room with you right now is she?" Matt asked

"No. She told me to call you and tell you everything and than left the room." Hannah said

"Okay. Let me call her. We will talk later okay?" He asked

"Okay dad. I'm sorry I let you down." She said

"Its forgiven." He said before he hung up. He called Lorelai.

Lorelai had gone back to her desk at that point and was typing up some paperwork when she heard her phone. She looked down at it and pressed ignore. She didn't want to talk to him right now.

Matt sighed. He waited thirty minutes and than tried again. This time the call was declined after just the first ring. Matt knew Lorelai was ignoring his calls at this point. He sighed. She was upset and it was his fault.

He of course had kept his wife in the loop about what was going on. He told her he was heading to DC. To ensure their daughter was safe and to talk to Lorelai.

He quickly got a flight and when he got into DC he rented a car and headed to the FBI. He was taken in to see his daughter right away.

"Dad. I thought you weren't coming." Hannah said standing up

Matt went and hugged her. "I had to see you were okay for myself. And I need to speak to Lorelai. She has been ignoring my calls." He said

Hannah hugged her dad. "Ah."

Matt had asked an Agent if Agent Hotchner Jr. was available he would like for her to be brought in to."

Lorelai was told she was needed in the conference room where her cousin was. She sighed. She assumed Hannah was being difficult, so she went. When she saw he uncle there she took a breathe.

"I didn't know you were coming…" She said

Matt nodded. "I needed to see for myself that Hannah was okay. Not that I didn't trust you when you said she was. Just a parent thing." He said

Lorelai nodded. "I understand." She said

"And I needed to talk to you too." He said.

"Oh?" Lorelai asked. She was expecting more of a lecture.

"Can we talk somewhere just the two of us?" he asked

Lorelai nodded and led him to an empty interrogation room.

"Sorry the conference rooms are all taken." She said

"That's okay." Matt said.

Lorelai leaned against the table and looked down at her feet wrapping her arms around herself.

"I'm sorry." He said

Lorelai looked up at him

"I came down to hard on you. I wasn't aware that you have been calling her three times a week. Asking the right questions. That she had been neglecting to tell you about this guy. And I realize you have a busy life and Hannah is not your responsibility that she is an adult." He said

Lorelai shrugged. "I should have known she was lying."

Matt shook his head. "No. I should not be expecting you to know everything when I didn't know anymore than you. I came down way to hard on you. And when Hannah told me she could tell by looking at you that you had been upset about the lecture. And when I tried to call you and I know you ignored my calls… I had to come her to talk to you."

Lorelai looked back down. She hated that he knew how much he had upset her.

"I'm sorry. I reacted badly. I was worried about Hannah. And took it out on you. It shouldn't have happened." He said

"Hannah must have misread something. I've gotten worse lectures." She said still looking down and fidgeting.

"Look at me please." Matt said

Lorelai looked up.

"I don't doubt that. But I know when your lying." He said

Lorelai huffed a laugh. "What's my tell?"

"You fidget a lot." He said

Lorelai smirked. She finally knew her tell

"And I probably shouldn't have told you that." He said

Lorelai chuckled. "Well, I've been asking people for years what my tell was. You are the only one who answered."

"Damn. I screwed that one up for your dad didn't I?" he asked

"If that is my only tell yes. yes you did." She said

Matt shook his head. "I will have to inform him of my error."

"Or you don't have to." Lorelai said

"Yes Lorelai. I do." He said

Lorelai nodded. "Okay."

"But. About us. Are we okay?" He asked

She nodded. "I'll admit the lecture hurt. I have received worse yes. But never from you." She said

Matt nodded. "I get that. I promise to lay off you. You're not responsible for Hannah."

"Thank you. I will be okay. Just need sometime." Lorelai said

The two of them hugged. "Now get your dad to call me when he has a minute."

She looked down at her phone when it went off.

"Actually, he has been informed about this situation. Asking me if I'm with you." She said. "if you wanted to talk to him in person?" She said

"Sure." Matt said

Lorelai texted him when they were. And Aaron was there in a few minutes.

"I'll let you two talk." Lorelai said as she left the room.

The two men spoke, Matt told him that he accidently told Lorelai her tell.

Aaron chuckled. "She thinks she just has one?"

"Well, she wasn't sure." Matt said

"Fidgeting is the big one yes. But if it's a big enough lie. Her voice changes too." Aaron said

"Good to know. And I wont tell her that." Matt said

"She would have found out eventually. Honestly she hasn't been lying to me in a long time, so I'm not concerned." Aaron said.

"We haven't really ever had a chance to talk. I want to thank you for everything you have done for her. As much as I wish I could have heard the details of her past from her when she was ready and not the news reporter who said it all over the news, but it is what it is. And if I had known where she was when she was young my wife and I would have taken her in. I hate my brother and his wife for what they allowed her to go through but obviously at this point karma has gotten them. But knowing everything she has been through I'm guessing she was… a handful when she first came to the FBI." Matt said

Aaron nodded. "I still wish I could figure out who divulged her information like that." He chuckled. "A handful she was. Still is at times."

Matt nodded. "I think like law enforcement its in the DNA to be a handful. That being said again thank you. For taking her in and giving her the family, she deserves."

"I was happy to do it. If I could go back in time and get her and all those kids out of the home and take her in when she was younger I would, but I knew early on that she was meant to be my daughter. It was an easy thing to do." Aaron said

Matt nodded and smiled.

Meanwhile the man was being brought in. Hannah was informed that she was safe.

"Can I speak to him?" Hannah asked

The agent looked at Lorelai.

"Don't look at me. Not my case. And she is an adult." Lorelai said

"But she's your cousin. And how would your uncle feel? Isn't he here?" The agent asked

"He is. He is talking to Agent Hotchner at the moment." Lorelai said "And honestly still think its up to Hannah. And obviously as long as you don't have any issues with it." She said. "or are you scared of her father?" Lorelai asked with a smirk.

"Her father has a reputation." The Agent said. "Especially when it comes to his family."

"I do, do I?" Matt said when he and Aaron came into the room.

Lorelai started to smirk but quickly stopped when she got a look from her boss.

"Agent Hotchner. I think we can let them handle things from here." He said

Lorelai nodded and quickly left the room with her boss.

Hannah was able to talk to her former friend and he didn't deny anything. He in fact refused to talk to him. Hannah was clearly upset, and Lorelai saw her.

She went over. "Hey what happened?" Lorelai asked

"He refused to talk to me." Hannah said.

"I'm sorry." Lorelai said hugging her

"Its okay. I'll be okay." Hannah said

"Damn right you will be." Lorelai said with a smile.

Matt nodded. "I'm taking her out to eat than back to her dorm. Would you like to join us?" Matt asked

Lorelai looked at them "That sounds great, but I have made plans with someone…" She said

"Lor. Its okay go. We can do our date another night." Spencer said.

"Your welcome to join us." Matt said "I would love to get to know the man who has my nieces heart.

Lorelai smiled abit

Spencer nodded and smiled. And they all headed out.
