It had been a couple months since Lorelai found out she was pregnant. She had been working far less in the field, but Aaron made sure to not make it obvious she wasn't in the field all that much. Lorelai was dealing with a lot of the symptoms of early pregnancy. Including the morning sickness.
Emily was in town for a dress trying for Penny and Derek's wedding
Lorelai looked up and smiled. "Hey!" she said getting up and going and giving her a hug.
"How are you?" Emily asked
"I'm good. You?" Lorelai asked
"I'm good. I've heard you figured it out." Emily said
Lorelai grinned. "I did. But I didn't tell anyone."
"Oh, I know. Because if you did I would have gotten a few calls." Emily said
Lorelai grabbed on to her feeling a dizzy spell.
"Whoa. Are you okay?" Emily asked leading to back to her seat.
Lorelai smiled a bit and took a sip on the gingerale at her desk. "Yeah. I guess I'm going to have to start telling people soon and I guess since I know your secret you can know mine. I'm pregnant." She said quietly.
Emily's eyes went big, and a smile spread across her face. "Congratulations." Emily said hugging her.
"Spencer, my dad, Becca and now you. Are the only people who know. I'm about twelve weeks along." Lorelai said
"I wont tell anyone." Emily said
"I will tell everyone soon. I will have to as my dress will have to be made a little bigger." She pointed out
Emily nodded. "You and Spencer are excited right?"
"Yes. Very. I'm out of most of the field work but Hotch is good. He isn't make it obvious. No one has caught on." Lorelai said
Emily nodded. "He is good. I had no idea either."
"Well, I guess its appropriate that you know before others. As if this works out with my dad this will be your technically grandchild." She said with a smirk
"Okay slow down." Emily said
Lorelai chuckled. "Okay. I'm sorry." She said
"But your okay?" Emily asked
"Yes. Just one of the symptoms is dizziness." Lorelai said
Emily nodded.
Spencer came in the room. "Emily hi." He said
Emily stood up and hugged Spencer and whispered. "Congratulations dad."
Spencer smiled and looked at Lorelai. "I think we can start telling people." Lorelai said
Spencer nodded. "If you are ready."
"I am." Lorelai said with a smile.
The girls came into the room, and they all left to go to the dress shop.
Champaign was passed around. Lorelai, JJ & Kate turned it down and just took some sparking cider.
They made a toast and Penny started trying on dressed.
"Still not drinking?" JJ asked
Lorelai smiled.
JJ's jaw dropped. "Are you?" She asked quietly
"This is Penny's day. But yes." Lorelai said
"Me too." JJ said quietly.
Lorelai was stunned. Kate had just left the team because she was pregnant and wanted to take the year off with the baby. But she was still there with them that day.
"What's with the private chat over there." Penny said as she came out.
They all looked up. Penny had on a beautiful dress, but it was very plain.
"Nice dress. But not really the right one for you." Emily said
"You need something unique." JJ said
"Something unlike any other dress." Becca said
Penny smiled and nodded. "But what are you two talking about over there."
"Nothing. Go try on another dress." JJ said
Penny went off and came out with a more sparkly dress.
"That's getting closer I think." Kate said
The bride consultant smiled. "I think I have the perfect dress in mind." She said she and Penny went and they could hear the gasp from Penny when she saw the dress. They all smiled at each other.
The dress was a ballgown. It was a champaign color. It had black gems all over it. The sleeves were a mix of the champaign and black though the dress. It was the most beautiful dress Penny had ever seen. She was helped into it.
"I think this is it." Penny said to the girls
"Well, what are you waiting for get out here!" Lorelai said
Penny came out. And everyone went silent as she walked to the small pedestal and stood on it.
"Penny. You look stunning." Becca managed to get out
"That is your dress." JJ said
"I don't think it would work for anyone else." Kate said
Penny nodded. "I agree!" She said excitedly.
They all took their glasses of champaign and sparking cider and toasted to the perfect dress and took a sip.
Penny looked at JJ and Lorelai's glasses.
"Are you two not drinking champaign?" Penny asked
"Um." Lorelai said.
"Wait. No. You two are pregnant?!" Penny asked
"What?" Kate said.
"What is in the water?" Becca asked with a chuckle
"You knew?" Penny asked
"I knew about Lorelai. Not JJ." Becca said
Penny hugged her two friends.
"How far along?" Penny asked
"About twelve weeks for me." Lorelai said
JJ told them how far along too.
"We didn't want to take away from your day." JJ said
"Pfft. More reason to celebrate." Penny said
Lorelai looked at Emily and raised an eyebrow.
Emily took a breathe. "And since were sharing our good news. I guess I can share mine too." Emily said
They all looked at her.
"You all know that the guy I was with in London didn't work out. Well not long after I started seeing someone else. Long distance. From here actually." Emily said
"Who?" JJ asked
"Well." Emily said with a smirk.
Lorelai wanted to scream. She was drawing it out.
"Out with it." She eventually said with a big grin.
"Wait you know?" JJ asked
Lorelai looked away knowing her eyes would give it away.
"Its Aaron." Emily said
"Well, its about time!" Penny said
"That's what I said when I found out!" Lorelai said with a laugh
"How long have you known?" Becca asked
"A couple months. He asked me not to tell anyone after I figured it out." Lorelai said
Everyone hugged and did more glass clinking and drinking.
Penny got out of her dress, and they started getting everyone else into dresses for the bridal party.
Penny had picked out a few dresses for the girls to try. In the end she decided as long as they were black whatever style looked good on each woman would be fine.
Meanwhile Spencer was telling the guys that he was going to be a dad and Aaron told them about him and Emily as well.
Emily followed Lorelai home that day and Lorelai noticed that Spencer was there as well. Emily and Aaron had texted each other that they had shared the news with their groups and Lorelai and Spencer did the same. Lorelai and Emily went inside.
"Honey I'm home." Emily called out causing Lorelai to chuckle.
Aaron had told his other two kids a few days before, so they weren't confused by the exclamation.
Aaron came out and kissed Emily.
Lorelai went and found Spencer playing sorry with Rachel and Jack. She smiled and went and sat in Spencer's lap.
Spencer smiled and gave her a kiss. "How did it go?"
"Fantastic. She found the most Penny dress ever. And the dresses for the bridal party have been chosen." She said
Lorelai let them finish their game.
"So. Spencer and I have something to tell you two." Lorelai said
Rachel and Jack looked up at them.
"You're going to be an aunt and uncle." Lorelai said
Rachel's eyes went big. Jack looked confused.
"I'm pregnant." Lorelai told Jack to clarify.
Rachel squeed and ran over to them both and hugged them.
"How far along?" Rachel asked
"Twelve weeks. Roughly." Lorelai said
Jack hugged them both too.
"Does that mean your going to move out?" Jack asked sadly.
Lorelai took a breathe. "Probably. But I promise I will be over all the time. I wont be going far." She assured him.
"I would never let her stay away from you." Spencer said with a smile.
"Are you two going to get married?" Jack asked
"Um. One thing at a time." Lorelai said with a smile.
They started a new game with Lorelai continuing to talk about the baby.
Emily and Aaron were sitting in the living room.
"Ready to be a granddad?" Emily asked
"She told everyone I take it?" Aaron asked
Emily nodded.
"Spencer told the guys." He said
"So, are you?" Emily asked
"I mean yes. Could I have been okay with waiting till she was a little older too sure. But I'm excited yes. I know they are both going to be great parents." Aaron said.
"They will be. For sure. And they will have a lot of support." Emily pointed out
Aaron nodded.
They finished the conversation before putting on a movie. Eventually the others joined to watch the movie as well.
