As they were driving home the weather started to get bad. Lorelai had known this weather was coming but had tried to plan the time they left around it so they could get through the areas of bad weather before it hit. Rachel could tell Lorelai as stressed. She could sense it and she was doing her best to keep Jack entertained as he was getting bored and hungry. Because of the weather Lorelai didn't want to stop in certain areas and they had driven through lunch time. They did have some snacks in the car, but it wasn't enough to keep a hungry boy happy.

"I know your hungry Jack." Lorelai said when he had whined enough about it. "But we need to get through this weather and than we can stop." She said.

Jack sighed.

"Hey why don't we play a game?" Rachel suggested

"No." Jack said with a sulk.

"Want to watch a movie in the tablet?" Lorelai asked

"No." Jack said

"What music do you want to listen to?" Rachel asked

"I want food." Jack said

"I know. I'm hungry too." Lorelai said she wasn't angry with the kid. She understood he was hangry. Lorelai was getting there too.

Eventually Jack had reached the end of his rope and started to kick the seat in front of him in boredom.

"Jack. Please stop." Lorelai said

"Or what? You going to stop. You cant do that right now." He said with a snarky tone kicking the seat again.

"Jack its distracting and is dangerous. Its hard enough to drive in this weather do not make it harder for me." Lorelai said voice stern

Jack kicked again. And Lorelai took a breathe. She pulled over to the side of the road and turned to look at the boy. "The longer you kick the longer it takes for us to continue moving towards food."

"But I'm hungry!" Jack exclaimed

"So am I. But kicking my seat makes it harder for me to drive safely. I can not continue if you do not stop kicking." Lorelai said

"So, were just going to sit her forever?" Lorelai said

"If I have to get out of this car and spank your butt I will do it." Lorelai said her voice clearly meaning business.

Jack sulked.

"You going to stop kicking?" Lorelai asked

"Yes…" He said

Lorelai turned back around and started to drive again. Things were okay for the next twenty minutes or so and they seemed to finally be getting though the bad weather. Lorelai started to relax a little and Jack kicked her seat again.

"Jack." She said in a warning tone.

"The weather has stopped we can get food now." Jack said

"Yes. When I can find a place to pull off the highway." Lorelai said

He kicked her seat again. She ignored it at that point and eventually did find a place to pull off into a diner. She parked behind the building. "Jack do not move. Rach, head inside get us a table Jack and I will meet you inside in a couple minutes" She said

Rachel got out and went inside.

Lorelai got out and climbed into the seat next to Jack. "You were warned what would happen if you continued to kick my seat and yet you did it again. I told you it was dangerous. It is distracting and I could have gotten in a car accident, and someone could have gotten really hurt." She lectured.

Jack looked down. "I'm sorry."

She made sure his seatbelt was off and pulled him over her lap. She had never had to give him more than a swat here or there to get his attention, but this was different. She delivered half a dozen swats to his butt before he started to cry. She gave him two more harder than the others before sitting him up in her lap and holding him. He cried for a couple minutes. When he was calm she took his chin and made him look at her. "You -ever do anything like that again when -anyone is driving you will be back over my lap. Understood?" She asked

"Yes." Jack said

Lorelai let his chin go. "Now lets go fill our bellies." She said. Both of them got out and Lorelai locked the doors and went inside and found Rachel seated at a table.

They got their food and ate. She Lorelai her dad where they were and that they made it through the bad weather.

They got back in the car and Lorelai filled up on gas before continuing on the road. They drove the rest of the way home without any issues. They pulled in two hours later than Lorelai would have hoped with the weather having her driving slower than average.

They all got out grabbed their bags and went inside. Spencer met them at the door. Spencer wrapped his arms around her as she dropped her bags. She relaxed in his arms.

"Tired?" He asked

"Very." Lorelai said

Aaron came and hugged his kids as well.

Spencer broke the hug and picked up Lorelai's bags and brought them to her room.

Lorelai flopped on her bed.

"Stressful drive with the bad weather?" Spencer asked using his hands to tell her to turn onto her tummy. Lorelai did so and Spencer positioned himself and started to give her a back and neck rub.

"The weather and at one point we are all hangry because I didn't want to stop where the weather was bad, so we went a while without any real food. And Jack started to kick my seat and wouldn't stop. I ended up having to deal with him when we did stop for lunch." Lorelai said

"Ah." Spencer said

"That was the first time I ever had to give him more than a swat to get his attention." Lorelai said

"Yeah. I know that's hard for you." Spencer said

"Don't get me wrong I know sometimes its necessary. Hell, I know I wouldn't be the person I am with out the discipline but its hard to be the one handing it out." Lorelai said

"I feel the same way." He said

"Um. Are we going to with our kids?" Lorelai asked, "I know its years away before it will come up, but we have never talked about it." She added

"I think as a last resort it's something to keep in our pocket." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded.

"What about school. Public or Private?" Spencer asked as he worked on the knots in her back

"I think that kind of depends on where we are living. Some places the public schools are amazing. Some places they suck." Lorelai said

"Moving in together. Are we going to get an apartment together or do we think we can afford to buy a place?" Lorelai asked

"We probably need to sit down and figure out where we both are financially first." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded.

"What about work?" Lorelai asked, "I will take some time off, but do you have an opinion on whether we put them in daycare or if one of us stays home long term?" Lorelai asked

"Do you want to take the full maternity leave I think is the first question." Spencer said

"I don't know… Do you expect that I will?" She asked

"I don't expect anything. Its why we talk about it. I want to know what you were thinking." Spencer said

"I'm honestly not sure if I just want to take a few weeks or the full year or what." Lorelai said, "I also know that I will have to trust someone completely to leave our kids with them." She added

"I support you coming back to work when you want. I'm not expecting you to give it up if its not what you want. And I agree we will have to know whomever we leave them with very well." Spencer said,

"How many kids do you want? Do you want them close together?" Lorelai asked

"Max of three. And I'm for when it happens it happens." Spencer said

"How about adopting? Would you be open to that for any of those kids?" Lorelai asked

"Yes." Spencer said.

There was a knock on the door and Spencer climbed off of her.

"Yes?" She said

Aaron went in. "Sorry to interrupt. I just have to ask. Anything I need to handle that happened at any point during the trip?"

"Um. For the most part I think I handled it." She sat up. "I had to spank Jack on the drive home after he wouldn't stop kicking my seat when he was getting hangry. Rachel playing me pretending to be under the weather so she could sneak off with the girl. Maybe. I mean I grounded them both to the room for a day after she did that and Jack got into a physical fight with some boys at the play area." Lorelai said

"You think Rachel learned her lesson?" Aaron asked

"Well, she wasn't happy about it so maybe?" Lorelai said

"I'll talk to them both." Aaron said

Lorelai nodded.

"You okay?" Aaron asked

"Just tired. And I think trying to process the events of the day." Lorelai said

"I think she is feeling a little sad she had to deal with Jack." Spencer said

"You weren't wrong to spank him. That could have been very dangerous." Aaron told her

"I know. I just. It was the first time I gave him more than a swat… "Lorelai said

"Did he react badly?" Aaron asked

"Well. He was pretty quiet afterwards for the rest of the ride." Lorelai said

"He always gets quiet afterwards. Not to mention he was probably tired." Aaron pointed out

"That's true." Lorelai said

"You'll see he will be back to normal soon." Aaron said

Lorelai nodded.

"Now pizza was just delivered so come eat." Aaron said

Her and Spencer went downstairs and grabbed some pizza.

"Did you all have a good time?" Spencer asked

"Yes!" Jack said excitedly and he started talking about all the fun things they did.

Aaron gave Lorelai a look of 'See. He's fine.' With a smile

Lorelai smiled and nodded. "What was your favorite part Jack?"

"Building the sandcastle village." He said

"That was a lot of fun." Lorelai said, "What about you Rachel?"

"The amusement park. The second time." Rachel said

Lorelai smiled and nodded

"What about you Lorelai?" Rachel asked

"Getting to see the girl I have known since birth falling in love." Lorelai said with a smile

Rachel blushed. "Lorelai!" she screeched

Aaron took a breathe. "Falling in love huh?"

Rachel shrugged.

"Well, when you say the love songs all make sense now." Lorelai said

"Okay. Stop." Rachel said blushing even more

"You do seem really happy." Aaron said. "I'm glad. But Lorelai stop teasing your sister." He said

Lorelai chuckled. "Okay. I'm sorry. I also really enjoyed watching Jack and his friends building the sandcastle village."

Jack beamed.

"And when the three of us went to the arcade. Minus the jerk." Lorelai said

"About that. I heard you used your voice to help protect your sister Jack." Aaron said. "I am so proud of you."

Jack's smile grew even bigger.

Spencer smiled "I'm glad you were there to help protect your sister and your niece or nephew."

Jack's eyes lit up. "I protected the baby too?"

"Yes. Sometimes if people get hurt when they are pregnant it can hurt the baby. Thankfully between your help and John's you two didn't let him hurt me to bad and the baby is okay." Lorelai said

"Already being a good uncle." Spencer told the boy

Jack was happy that everyone was proud of him and that he had helped his big sister and niece or nephew.

After dinner. Lorelai and Spencer went to sit in the living room.

Aaron looked at his younger too. "Jack. I'm only going to tell you once. You -never kick someone's seat when they are driving. And you never use your fists in a fight." He said

Jack nodded. "I'm sorry."

"Okay. Lorelai has handled it. Its forgiven. You can go." Aaron said

Jack went off

"I'm not getting off as easy am I?" Rachel asked

"Do you think you should?" He asked

Rachel took a breathe. "No sir."

"You know Lorelai planned this trip so you three could always have these memories. You threw away a day with you sister and brother to have lunch with a girl. Even if this girl is the girl of your dreams and your forever person. You could have invited her to go with you to the museum and gotten to see her and spend the day with your sister and brother. You lied big time. Not to mention the day before you came mighty close to doing drugs." He said

"Its pot in a few months I can smoke it legally." She said

"True. Here yes you can. But not where you were." Aaron said "And I don't care how old you are. Drugs are not okay." Aaron said

"If it helps Brooke told me off." Rachel said

"Good. I'm liking her already." Aaron said with a small smirk.

Rachel smiled abit. "I'm really sorry dad. Lorelai and I talked about it already. I have apologized to her. I never planned to consider smoking weed. It just came up and for a second I thought it wouldn't be a big deal. I know it is. And as for lying to her. My heart was screaming at me to go for lunch with this girl and Lorelai had already told me I couldn't be around her alone after the almost smoking thing. I know. I should have just listened but dad this girl makes me want to do stupid things to see her."

Aaron chuckled. I admit I did a few stupid things to impress Hailey when we were young and falling in love." He took a breathe. "You promise me you will never do drugs. Illegal or not."

"I promise." Rachel said

"And where does this girl live?" He asked

"Currently in Chicago but she is going to UOV in September." Rachel said

"Okay. When she is in town invite her here for dinner. I want to meet her." He said

Rachel nodded.

"Its forgiven." Aaron said

Rachel let out the breathe she was holding.

"Do you have a picture of this girl?" Aaron asked

"Um. No. Lorelai apparently does though." Rachel said

Aaron nodded. He got up and motioned for Rachel to join him and he went to Lorelai. "You have pictures from this trip?" He asked

Lorelai smiled and nodded. She set up the tv and connected her phone to set up a slide show of the pictures and Jack was called to join them.

They all sat together and watched as the pictures Lorelai took played through on the screen.

When they got to the pictures of Rachel and Brooke Aaron could see what Lorelai saw. His little girl was so happy and falling in love. He knew she wasn't a little girl anymore, but he was nervous. When it came to Lorelai and Spencer he knew Spencer already and knew he was a good man. He didn't know this girl and didn't want Rachel to get hurt but he also knew he couldn't stand in her way especially if this is the true love of his daughters life.

"So those must be the new friends of yours Jack?" Aaron asked

Jack nodded. "Callum he's 11 and Lennox is 9."

"And their dad's are John and Hunter." Lorelai said. "They live in Maryland. We exchanged numbers we are going to arrange to get Jack and their two together sometime if you have no objections." Lorelai said

"Nope. Good for Jack to have friends." Aaron said.

"And Spenc and I will be doing a double date with them at some point too." Lorelai said

"Yes. I want to take them out for dinner to thank them for dropping everything to get you to the hospital." Spencer said

Lorelai smiled. "They want to meet you in person too."

A video of the Lorelai, Rachel and Jack playing one of the games at the fair came up last. Lorelai was helping Jack aim the water gun at the target and Rachel and Jack seemed to be playing against each other. Jack won and Lorelai cheered and spun him around. Jack pointed to a stuffed monkey. The man behind handed it to him.

Lorelai made a face "Who took this?"

"I think it was Brooke." Rachel said. "Remember you had given her your phone when hers died to checked in with the others. She must have snuck this video." Rachel added.

Lorelai nodded

"Well, I'm glad she did. It's a very sweet moment." Aaron said with a smile

"Where is the monkey?" Rachel asked Jack.

Jack ran up to his room and got it and brought it down. He handed it to Lorelai "For the baby."

Lorelai's heart melted and her eyes welled up with tears. "Jack are you sure?" she asked

Jack smiled and nodded. "I can tell them how I won it for him or her."

Lorelai wrapped her arms around her little brother. "You are going to be an amazing uncle." She said

The baby kicked hard, and Jack felt it. He jumped back a bit. Lorelai put her hand on her tummy. "That was the baby. I think they were saying hi Uncle Jack. I cant wait to meet you."

"You felt the baby kick?" Spencer asked with a smile.

Jack nodded. Lorelai took Spencer's hand and put it where the baby was kicking. He felt the kick

"We made this baby." Lorelai said looking up at Spencer.

Spencer nodded.

"Can I feel?" Rachel asked.

Spencer moved his hand and Lorelai put Rachel's on the right spot.

Rachel smiled. "Hi baby. I'm your auntie." Jack tried to put his hand on her tummy too. Rachel moved her hand and Lorelai helped Jack get to the right spot. "Now I don't mind but you never put your hand on a woman's tummy without her permission okay Jack?" Lorelai said

Jack nodded and smiled feeling the baby kick.

"That's your uncle Jack. He won you this monkey." Lorelai said to the baby. "And it will be here waiting for you when your big and strong and ready to come out of my belly." She added.

"Can the baby see?" Jack asked.

"Not really. But sometimes they can hear our voices. So, when the baby comes out they will recognize our voices." Lorelai said. "That's also why I play music on headphones for the baby sometimes. Music can be good for the brain too." Lorelai said

Jack nodded.

Lorelai looked up at her dad. "What about you grandpa? Want to feel?" she smiled

Aaron smiled and nodded.

Jack moved back and Lorelai placed her dad's hand on her tummy.

"That's your grandpa. If it wasn't for him there is no way you would be growing in my belly right now. He saved my life. Which made your life possible." Lorelai said.

Aaron didn't say anything. He just felt his grand child move.

"Jack you know when you were in mom's belly. I felt you kicking. I talked to you. When you were born you heard me talking and you looked right up at me because you knew my voice." Aaron told his son.

"Really?" Jack asked

Aaron nodded and smiled "Really."

The baby calmed down from the excitement.

"Well, I think they are saying they are done for now." Lorelai said

Jack looked confused.

"The baby doesn't always move. Just like us we get tired sometimes. The baby is working hard to grow big and strong so doesn't always have the energy to move so we can feel it." Lorelai said

Jack nodded.

"And Lorelai's body is working hard to help the baby grow to which is why she gets tired easier." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded.

"Okay. You two. Go unpack your bags. Get you clothes in the laundry." Aaron said

Rachel and Jack went off. And Aaron left Lorelai and Spencer alone as well.

Lorelai leaned her head on Spencer's shoulder.

"You want to go lay down? I've already cleared it with your dad. I'm spending the night." He said

Lorelai smiled and nodded. "But shower first."

The two of them went upstairs and Lorelai showered before climbing into bed. Spencer climbed in with her. "I never got a look at your lower back. Did you develop a bruise?" He asked

"My butt is bruised my lower back hurts a bit. I'm going to see if I can get an appointment with a massage therapist or something." She said

"Your pressing charges right?" Spencer asked

"Yup. I got all his information. Already contacted the firm Rebecca is interning at. They are taking the case." Lorelai said

"Okay. Good. Becca going to get a chance to be second chair?" He asked

"Not sure." Lorelai said. "She it doing all the research though."

"I guess you have to pay your dues in the beginning." Spencer said

Lorelai nodded. "She's loving it." She reached for her phone. "Crap. I forgot to text Hunter that we got home safe." She sent a quick text before plugging her phone in and cuddling into Spencer and falling asleep quickly.
