It was Saturday. Lorelai and Spencer were looking at houses with their real estate agent. They had decided that a house was the better bet. They wouldn't be able to get anything huge or fancy, but they were just looking for their starter home.
They had told the agent what they were looking for and what they were willing to pay and such and the real estate agent had a few places for them to look at. The first house they looked at was definitely a no. It was in an area that was known for crime. The real estate agent was aware of this fact however the house did have every single one of the things they wanted within their price range, so she had to show it to them just in case. But they said no very quickly. They were willing to make some sacrifices for what they wanted inside their home for it to be in a safe neighbourhood.
Their second house was nice. It had most of what they wanted however something about the house just didn't feel right for them. The third house was very nice. Had everything they wanted but was right at the top of the budget and it would need a little bit of work in the kitchen for Lorelai's liking. Lorelai was starting to feel like they weren't going to find what the wanted. They had just one more house to look at that day.
They pulled into a really nice neighbour hood. That was known for having a lot of young families. Shopping and good schools nearby. Parks within walking distance. All in all, a good neighbourhood. However, Lorelai knew that the house prices tended to be higher end.
They pulled up to a modern looking home. They got out and went inside. The real estate agent told them what they needed to know before letting them go explore the house.
It was a one-story home. It had a decent size foyer with a small coat closet. Three bedrooms. The master having its own bathroom with double vanity and separate shower & bath. The room also had his and hers walk in closets, The second bathroom was a decent size as well. It was across from one of the other bedrooms and down the hall slightly from the third. Both bedrooms were a good size as well both with double closets. The kitchen had a breakfast nook and an island with the stove built in. There was a door to the back patio from the kitchen that looked out on the decent sized yard. Off the kitchen was the dinning room and a couple steps down from the dining room was the large living room with a fireplace. Lorelai smiled abit. The house was perfect. It was the perfect starter home for them. But she couldn't get to excited. She figured it was well out of their budget. They came back around to the kitchen where the real estate agent was waiting for them.
"What do you think?" she asked them.
"Its beautiful." Lorelai said
"Probably the perfect fit." Spencer said
"Just tell us. How much over our budget is this?" Lorelai asked
The real estate agent smiled. "Its not. Its at the very top but its not over."
"Really?" Lorelai said in surprise. She looked up at Spencer who smiled.
Spencer smiled.
They went over the details and the agent gave them some time to discuss.
"I don't think we are going to find a better place." Lorelai said
"I have to agree. This is the perfect fit." Spencer said
They agreed and put an offer in before the left the house.
Afterwards they left and started for a drive towards a restaurant. They were meeting Johnathan and Hunter.
They got to the restaurant and went inside and were led to the table where their friends were already waiting.
They both stood up and gave hugs and handshakes. They all four sat down.
"How did the house hunting go?" Hunter asked
"We put an offer in on the last house we saw. Seems to be pretty perfect." Lorelai said
"Seems to be?" John asked
"I'm not getting my hope up till we have the keys and are moving in." Lorelai said
"Someone a pessimist?" Hunter asked
"Have had to many shitty things happen to me. I have learned to wait for the other shoe to drop so to speak." Lorelai said
"Last time you said that was there another shoe though?" Spencer asked with a smile.
Lorelai chuckled. "Shush you."
"How's the baby" Hunter asked
"Baby is good." Lorelai said. "Hungry though." She said
The waiter came over at that point and they ordered their drinks and an appetizer for the table.
They continued to talk and ordered food when the waiter came back.
"So. You found out gender?" Hunter asked at one point.
"Yes." Lorelai said.
"Not going to share?" Hunter asked with a smirk.
"Sure, I will. At the baby shower that you both have been invited to." Lorelai said with a smirk.
John chuckled. "You really thought you would get her to tell you?"
"Like you didn't look when you gave her the ultrasound." Hunter said
"I didn't go anywhere near there. I didn't need to. I was professional." Johnathan said
Lorelai chuckled. "My sister has been begging me since the day we found out."
"I admit I have almost let it slip a couple times." Spencer said
"Oooh. Maybe I should ask you than." Hunter said
"Hunter stop." John said shaking his head with a smile.
Their food came and they ate and continued to talk.
The night came to an end when the cheque was brought. Spencer insisted on paying as a thank you for taking care of her in Myrtle Beach.
They all got up and headed up towards their cars.
"This was fun. We should do it again sometime." Spencer said
They all agreed and again hugs and handshakes were had before they went off on their own ways home.
Spencer pulled into this apartment building. Lorelai was spending the night at his place.
They went inside and Lorelai flopped on his bed. Spencer chuckled "Tired?"
"Exhausted. But happy." Lorelai said
Spencer smiled and went to shower. Afterwards Lorelai showered as well, and they both went to bed.
