This is chapter 2 of the WandaJean fanfic. Let's see how these get along now.
School grounds:
Whilst classes were underway, Jean and Wanda were walking across the grass while talking. Wanda was telling Jean how she got her powers, how she was first fighting with the bad guys with her brother, then she stopped which made Jean worry.
"Are you okay, Wanda?" Jean asked and Wanda nodded, she sat down on the glass near a pond. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Jean offered as she sat next to Wanda and placed a hand on top of Wanda's hand.
"A few days ago, my brother, Pietro, died protecting one of the Avengers." Wanda told her and Jean saw a tear roll down her cheek, she reached inside her jacket and took out a pack of tissues. Jean took out some tissues and handed them to Wanda, she then wiped her eyes and gave Jean a small smile.
"I know how it feels to lose ones close to you," Jean spoke up and Wanda looked at her new friend. "When I was 8, I lost my parents in a car crash. I survived without any injuries and the Professor took me in then helped me learn how to control my powers." Wanda held Jean's hand then gave her a small smile. "You know, you're the first person I told about my past, except the Professor." Jean told her and Wanda felt happy to have helped the young woman come out.
"I think you're first person, except Pietro, that makes me feel happy." Wanda confessed and Jean felt honored. She checked her watch then stood up, Wanda looked up at her as she didn't know what was wrong.
"Come on, I'll take you to your room." Jean told her and Wanda nodded as she got up, the pair then walked into the mansion as they were talking more about their abilities.
Inside:
Jean had escorted Wanda upstairs to the bedroom hallway and Wanda was admiring the artwork on the walls. Jean stopped outside a door and Wanda was confused so Jean opened it and revealed an empty room.
"This is your room; you can decorate it to fit your liking," Jean explained with a smile as Wanda looked around. "If you need anything, I'm in the room next door. Nico and Karolina have the room across from you; Professor Xavier said that they could share a room when they joined." Jean explained and Wanda nodded, she looked out the window to see that she had a wonderful view of the back on the mansion.
"I love this alot," Wanda complimented and it made Jean smile. "Jean, would you like to go out with me? To get some stuff to decorate my room?" Wanda asked and Jean nodded. They were about to go when they were joined by Nico and Karolina.
"We heard something about going out. Can we tag along?" Karolina asked and Wanda nodded. Wanda and Jean waited for Karolina and Nico to put their books away then the four women walked down the stairs, they were heading towards the front door when they bumped into a tall man: he had smartly comed brown hair, wearing a smart brown suit with a blue shirt and black shoes.
"Hello girls. How are you today?" The man asked as he smiled and the women nodded with a smile.
"We're good. Thanks for asking Professor McCoy." Karolina answered and the teacher smiled. "Professor McCoy, this is our newest student: Wanda Maximoff." Wanda stepped forward then she and the teacher shook hands.
"Professor Henry McCoy. But most people call me Hank." Hank introduced and Wanda nodded. "I'm happy that you met these three; they're the best students I've had. Now go on and do what you're going to do." Hank told them then he smiled as the four women ran off outside and took the Rolls Royce that Karolina and Nico took from their old hideout.
"If we're going anywhere, let's go in style." Nico suggested and the others nodded then they got in the car. Karolina was driving with Nico in the passenger seat, Wanda and Jean were sat behind them and looked inside the car.
"This is amazing! This car feels so comfortable." Wanda complimented and Jean nodded as she agreed. "Where's the best place to buy new clothes? I also want to decorate my room too: make it to suit me." Wanda explained and Karolina smiled as she knew the best place to go.
"Seatbelts on, we're going to the mall." Karolina told them as she drove the car away and down the driveway, they were heading into the city to spend time together as friends.
Shopping Mall:
After arriving at the mall, the group walked inside the huge building and made their way to a huge clothing store. Nico wasn't sure as she hadn't changed her style for a long time but recently thanks to Karolina, she was thinking about slowly changing her style.
"Thinking of a new style?" Nico looked next to her to see Wanda looking through the various leather jackets. "I can read people's thoughts. If you wanna try something, go for it. Karolina will still love you; I can see the chemistry between you two." Wanda told her and it helped give Nico the confidence boost she needed to talk to Karolina.
"Karolina, would you help me….?" Nico paused as she felt nervous asking Karolina for help. "Would you help me get some new clothes?" Nico asked and Karolina smiled, she took hold of Nico's hand and nodded.
"Nico, you don't have to be nervous to ask me for help. Remember…" Karolina held her left hand next to Nico's left hand to reveal them wearing matching rings. "We're connected." Karolina reminded Nico then the jewels on their rings started to glow rainbow colours. "Now, where should we start?" Karolina asked as she and Nico walked over to the other end of the store. Jean walked over to Wanda and handed her a bright red knee length dress with no sleeves.
"Curious about the rings?" Jean asked and Wanda nodded as they walked over to the changing rooms. "Karolina said the jewels are crystals from the planet her Father was from. She asked Hank to help her make them into jewels for matching rings and within a matter of days, it was done." Jean continued explaining as Wanda was in the changing room trying on the dress.
"How romantic. I wish I could meet someone like that someday." Wanda told her and Jean smiled. "But as someone once said in a book I read; the person who we're meant to be with is usually someone we would never see coming." Wanda spoke as the changing door opened and out stepped Wanda: she was wearing the red dress that Jean picked out.
"WOW! You look amazing." Jean complimented as Wanda tried to hide her blushing face with her hair. "You change back into your old clothes and I'll pay for your new clothes." Jean told her and Wanda nodded as she walked back in but the truth was that Jean was trying to hide the fact that she too was blushing.
"Jean, here." Wanda spoke then by her using her powers, Wanda gave her new clothes to Jean who caught them. "Best start with something easy to use my powers on." Wanda whispered and Jean nodded with a smile. Jean walked over to the cashier to see that Karolina and Nico had already paid for their shopping.
"Jean, Nico and I are going to the hairdressing store. Nico wants to get some hair dye." Karolina explained and it surprised Jean then Nico looked at her friend.
"I thought I might slowly try and change a bit. Not too much but a little bit." Nico explained then Jean nodded as she was happy for Nico. "Come on, beautiful." Nico said and Karolina smiled then the pair walked off just as Wanda walked over.
"They going somewhere without us?" Wanda asked and Jean nodded as she paid for Wanda's new clothes and shoes. "Thank you again for this, Jean. It would be nice to try and change. Can't live in the past forever, Pietro wouldn't have wanted that for me." Wanda told her and Jean nodded.
"Wise words, Wanda." Jean smiled as she and Wanda picked up the bags. "Come on. I'll buy you something from the cake shop: my treat." Jean offered then the pair headed towards the cake shop to get something nice to eat.
Cake shop:
Wanda and Jean were sat outside waiting for Karolina and Nico, they were eating cupcakes that they brought from the shop. Karolina and Nico walked over to the pair and they were smiling.
"Don't think you two got left out." Wanda told them then she opened the box to reveal two cupcakes, Karolina and Nico took the last two and smiled. "So, what did you two go and buy?" Wanda asked as she was curious.
"We went off to buy hair dye. Nico's idea and I thought; why not?" Karolina explained then they headed off towards the car park. "Not bad for your first day with us, don't you agree, Wanda?" Karolina asked and Wanda nodded with a smile.
"I don't usually say stuff like this but I think you're amazing, Wanda." Nico complimented and Wanda smiled.
"Come on, girls. Let's head back and help Wanda sort out her new room." Karolina told them then the four girls headed back to the car. Her first day at Charles Xavier's School Of The Gifted was going perfectly: she had finally a place where she belonged, she met some amazing friends and was already enjoying every moment of it.
School Of The Gifted:
When the girls got back, they were helping Wanda decorate her room: Karolina and Nico were putting Wanda's new clothes and shoes away, Wanda was sorting out her books on the selves and Jean was setting up Wanda's new stereo.
"Thanks for the help, girls." Wanda thanked and the three smiled then they shared a group hug.
"Don't mind us but Nico and I have a date." Karolina told them then she and Nico left, leaving Jean and Wanda alone. Jean and Wanda sat on the end of Wanda's bed, their hands touched by accident which caused them to glow.
"I… I gotta go. Sorry Wanda." Jean apologised then she got up and left, making Wanda feel upset: why did her hand and Jean's hands glow when they touched?
This is the end of chapter 2 and things have started to change. Wanda has her own room and new stuff. But there's still one question unanswered: Why do Jean and Wanda's hands glow when they make contact? Will they ever find out?
