Rania stood silently as the human form of Shukaku writhed in pain. Gaara was stunned as well. Suddenly, a voice spoke.
"Rania, what is this?" Trent asked. Rania quickly explained.
"So, the monk is the one trying to kill. Hmm, I can separate him from you, Shukaku but it will be painful." Trent said. Shukaku nodded. Trents eyes went white and a scream erupted from Shukaku. Suddenly, Shukaku stopped moving as phantom monk appeared. He begin to laugh.
"Kill, kill, kill, kill. Destroy all nins!" The monk gleefully said. Trent was taken aback by his bloodlust. Suddenly, the ghost turned to Rania.
"Kill." He said jumping at Rania. Rania dodged the attack but the ghost moved like lightning. Rania was ready to dodge. The ghost lunged only to be caught. Suddenly, a man's voice spoke.
"How dare you attack my sister, wraith. You will not enjoy your freedom long. ART OF NIGHTMARE: BINDING SOUL." Danok spoke. Suddenly, black ribbons shot from his hands wrapping around the wraith like a mummy. The wraith tried to escape but the ribbons tightened until he was completely covered. Once covered, the wraith was contained and the ribbons became a sealed jar. Danok picked it up.
"Are you alright?" Danok asked. Rania nodded as she kept her eyes on the one tails. Shukaku got up, his lined eyes full of sorrow.
"That extremist monk drove me crazy. So many innocents died because of his control over me!" Shukaku said softly. Once upright, Shukaku looked like a young man with tanned skin, soulful brown eyes, a shaggy mop of brown.and black ringed hair, and a slender yet muscular build. His face was made up of soft, gentle lines, with a pointed chin. Rania smiled.
" It is good that the monk is gone from your mind however the apology needs to go to your human Gaara. He has suffered the most recently due to the monk's presence in your mind." Rania said. Shukaku looked at Gaara, his eyes sorrowful.
"I made all your village hate you, mistreat you, abandon you, even tried to kill you. I don't know what I can do to make it up to you, Gaara, but I'd like to try. All tailed beasts needs a human comrade to truly be a fighter. I'm glad I'm at least able to meet you." Shukaku said. Gaara looked cold for a moment then he spoke.
"You were used like me, a tool to kill, you owe nothing to me but I would like to try to use our abilities as one. Perhaps with Naruto and Kyuubi's help, we can." Gaara spoke. Shukaku looked at Gaara.
"Kyu's here with his human! I must meet them." Shukaku said, looking at Gaara. Gaara was already turning to leave when Shukaku spoke. Turning back around, Gaara bowed to Rania, Trent, and Danok and then he and Shukaku departed. Danok spoke first.
"So the monk possessed the one tailed beast? That makes much more sense. I will have this...monk questioned in the nightmare realm. Right now, Trent and I have an interrogation to attend." Danok said picking up the jar. Rania looked at the duo.
"The prisoner Karin. I would like to sit in on that but I've also got a meeting with the Head Counciller about adding Momo Haruno has the Leaf nin representative in the Council. And I think if I showed up there, I'd hear an earful from Mother. But I do want to know what is found out about her. Good day." Rania said, leaving. Danok quirked an eyebrow. Rania didn't just give up that easy. She was planning something. Danok then summoned a small imp.
"Watch her. If anyone tries anything, alert me immediately. " Danok said. The little bat like creature nodded and zoomed off after Rania. Trent spoke.
"If she finds out you're watching her, she will be rather mad but then again you suspect something is off. So do I. I'd rather have her mad at us then the alternative. " Trent spoke. Danok nodded as the pair headed off to interrogate Karin. Rania was walking back to her office when she felt a presence near her. Before she could react, she was thrown to the ground harshly. She tried to get up but was pinned by a heavy weight. She tried to maneuver her body to where she could throw the attacker off.
"No,no. I finally trapped a piece of bait. My, my. You're a pretty one too. I'm going to love cutting pieces of your flesh off and sending them to your comrades. Stop squirming." A man's voice spoke. Rania decided not to use her blood chakra as she couldn't gauge the enemy. Suddenly, she was thrown against a wall. She managed to keep her head from hitting the wall. She realized then that the attacker must be a nin would uses wind. She was pinned by the air itself.
"You are something. I was hoping to knock you clean out but oh well. I guess a first to your jaw will have to do." The nin said, hitting Rania. Rania felt pain explode in her jaw but didn't pass out. Blood trickled down her face.
"You hit like a newborn baby. Cant fight someone fairly can you?" She quipped. The nin pulled back to strike again but was stopped by another hand catching his. He looked at the person to tell them to piss off until he looked into that eye. Fear coursed through him. Cold, cruel, heartless eye that burned his soul.
"Lady Rania, are you alright?" The man stated. Rania rose from her seated position.
"I'll be fine, Kakashi. The son of a bitch punched me in the jaw." Rania said, spitting out blood. The nin then broke free of Kakashi's iron grip.
" I'll take you down, Copy nin. This will be fun!" The nin said. Kakashi just looked at him like he was an idiot. Rania had regained her feet and was about to speak when the two nins rushed at each other. Kakashi was the faster of the two and ducked under the nins junaid. He delivered a swift uppercut to the nins face causing the nin to grunt in pain. The nin jumped back then. Kakashi had pulled his headband up to reveal his eye. The nin hadn't noticed this and began hand signs. Kakashi followed them easily.
Earth art: Earthen spikes" Kakashi called out a split second before the other nin. The nin was in shock. Pain erupted from his arms and legs. Kakashi had pinned him to the ground. Danok and Trent came running around the corner.
"Rania, what happened?" Danok said. Rania recounted the events that occurred shortly before. The nin was squirming. Trent had a mind block on him so that he couldn't kill himself. Danok looked at him with ice cold red eyes. Rania spoke softly.
"Take him to interrogation. Keep him alive. I want..." Rania stopped mid sentence as the adrenaline wore off and she began feel faint. Quickly, Danok grabbed her before she could collapse.
"Trent, keep him alive. I'll personally question him. As for you, Little sister, I think we'd better get you over to Doc and make sure you're ok." Danok said, holding Rania by her shoulders. Rania nodded but sent a look at the nin that spoke volumes. Trent removed the spikes from the ground and with Kakashis help, the poison vial in his teeth. The nin hung his head. He hadn't counted on them winning. The boss was going to be disappointed. Danok quickly guided Rania to the hospital as she was now getting dizzy. The nurse quickly showed them in. Doc was in there in a few moments.
"What happened?" Doc asked Danok. Danok spoke.
"Rania was attacked. An air chakra user threw her against the wall and then punched her in the jaw. She was ok until a short time go." Danok spoke. Doc nodded.
"Adrenaline wore off. Her body is reacting to the acts. Now, I think you'd better go make sure I don't have a pissed off mother wanting to kill someone in my hospital. I need to examine Rania and you'll only distract me. Shoo." Doc said to Danok. Danok merely grunted and walked out of the room. Rania looked at Doc.
" You know the drill. You need to at least remove your coat so I can see if there is any cuts." Doc said. Rania removed her coat without a fuss.
"Let me see your eyes. Usually, you fight me tooth and nail to not be here." Doc said. Rania looked at Doc. Doc's eyes widened. Blood trickled from her mouth and a huge bruise was forming. Her eyes were clear but pain filled. Doc spoke.
" Did you hit your head?" Doc asked as he cleaned the blood off her jaw. Rania shook her head. Doc pursed his lips.
" You were thrown against the wall, front or back?" Doc asked, moving to Rania's back to see it covered with bruises and small cuts. None were deep but he could still see the chakra burns from before. Doc cleaned the areas much to Rania's dismay. He then touched her jaw and she slapped his hand away. Doc merely looked at her.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way. I don't think you want me to call Tersa in, do you?" Doc said, eyes intent on Rania. Rania shook her head.
"No. It hurts like hell when I talk to loud or touch it." Rania said, rubbing her jaw. Doc gently put pressure on it.
" Its badly bruised but not broken. However, you are going to have to stay here overnight." Doc said. Rania looked up.
"No. I'm fine you said it's just bruised. Why do I need to stay?" Rania said even though it hurt. Doc looked at her.
"Because, Lady Rania, you almost passed out in the street, you are getting dizzy, and you haven't once call me a old fart. You said you didn't hit your head but I want to make sure." Doc said staring Rania down. Suddenly, a voice was heard on the other side.
"Sir, Lady Tersa is here. She would like to come in. May I let her?" the nurse asked.
"Yes." Doc said. Rania crossed her arms in defiance. Tersa entered.
" Doc, how is she?" Tersa asked, looking at Rania. Doc spoke.
"She has multiple cuts and bruises, a large bruise on her jaw, is dizzy and almost passed out in the street but is refusing to stay here overnight for observation." Doc said. Rania shot him a glare. Tersa looked her daughter.
" You will stay here tonight. From what Danok told me, Doc's diagnosis is correct. And it's only for one night. And if you don't, I'll have your father tie you down to the bed. Am I understood? Nobody likes a hospital but we all need to stay sometimes." Tersa said, her eyes brooking no argument.
" I have things to do. Meetings and such." Rania said. Tersa held up her hand.
" They can wait until later and if not Galen can handle them." Tersa said. Rania sighed. Her mother was right but she hated hospitals. Rania nodded her consent. Doc immediately opened the door to go brief the others on what he found and decided. Doc entered the small waiting room. The Consuls Guard, Danok, Damis, Sesshomaru, Tsunade, Ciel, and Sebastian were there. Doc began to speak.
" I'm keeping Rania at least overnight. The fact that she's dizzy and took a hit to the jaw is concerning. Her back was also covered with bruises and small cuts." Doc said. Honey spoke first.
" And she let you? Rania doesn't like hospital. Last time, she tried to fight us even though she was run through with a sword." Honey said. Danok spoke.
" That's why I sent Mother back there. Rania dislikes hospitals and i know unless one if us almost threatened her, she won't stay." Danok spoke. No one went against Tersa, not even Galen. Doc smiled as he bid the others good day. Scarlett came forward.
" Doc, I brought Rania a nightgown from her room. Can I take it in to her?" Scarlett asked. Doc nodded.
" Actually, you can help me get her to a room so I dont have to fuss so much." Doc said as he led Scarlett to the exam room. Rania was still there waiting on Doc to return.
"Nurse Aria, please get a gurney's so we can escort Lady Rania to her room for the night." Doc said. Rania scoffed.
"Could use a wheelchair." Rania said, sulking. Doc quirked an eyebrow.
" You're dizziness can cause you to pass out and fall out of the chair. On a gurney's, you will not hit your hard head and damage the floor." Dic quipped. Scarlett bit back a laugh. Rania's gaze was none to happy. The nurse rolled the gurney. Rania stood up slowly so she could get on the gurney. Suddenly, the room tilted and her legs buckled. She would've hit the floor had Doc not been so quick to catch her. Rania felt as though the whole was spinning. Doc quickly maneuvered her onto the gurney. Scarlett was helping to secure her as they began to go down the hall. Rania was still dizzy. She couldn't understand why she was so dizzy. Suddenly they stopped as they entered a room.
" We're here. Scarlett, I'll leave you and Tersa to help Rania change. Then we'll see what we can do about her dizziness." Doc said. Scarlett nodded as the door was closed. Scarlett helped Rania to stand slowly so as not to make her more dizzy. Soon, Rania was in a nightgown and sitting on the edge of a bed. She hated hospitals. She hated just laying around. But when she couldn't walk two steps without the world spinning, the hospital was a good decision.
"Why would they target you, Rania?" Scarlett asked. Rania looked at Scarlett now that her head wasn't spinning too bad.
"I'm not sure. I left Danok and Trent after the meeting with Gaara. The next thing I know is that I'm thrown to the ground. Why couldn't I sense that nin? Who is he working for? Scarlett, tell the others to keep him alive. They can do anything to make him talk but do not kill him. Something is not right. Also, have the enforcers see why and how this nin got in. The watch commanders are to be questioned. Also, send Vilis in when you leave. I have a few questions for him." Rania said. Scarlett looked at her.
"Doc said not to over do it. I'm not sure I should..." Scarlett trailed off as Rania's eyes landed on her.
"You think you've been poisoned, don't you?" Scarlett asked as she caught onto Rania's train of thought. Rania nodded. Ger jaw was no hurting as bad but she knew if she didn't move her jaw some it would be harder later to move it. Scarlett sighed.
"Ok. But your mother isn't going to like this. She'll have a fit if you try to do anything without Doc's ok. But if I don't get Vilis, you'll just try to find him yourself and then Doc will tie you to the bed like last time." Scarlett said to her friend.
"This isn't last time, Scarlett. They were targeting Galen and it's my job to protect him." Rania scoffed.
"Protect. Not get run through the chest with a sword and terrify all of us because you are a hard head." Scarlett said. Rania sighed.
" Just send Vilis in please. If it is a poison, the Master of Poisons ought to know it. Besides, I'm starting to feeling tired." Rania said. Scarlett nodded and quickly left. Once outside Rania's room, she was greeted by the very man she was to send in.
"Vilis, Rania wants to see you now. Its concerning her health." Scarlett said. Vilis looked at Scarlett with a question in his eyes.
"She suspects poison. Frankly, so do I. I better go make sure the Consul has been notified of this and I'm going to help with the investigation into how a nin got in here. Nathaniel will help." Scarlett said.
"Its possible. I will join you later." Vilis said. Scarlett left quickly. Vilis entered the room. Rania was seated on the bed, her head against the wall. Vilis smiled.
" No tie downs yet, it seems Veran wins the bet. You wanted to see me?." Vilis said, a smile playing on his slender face. Rania sent him a look that would make most men shudder but Vilis just smiled.
"How many poisons can be transmitted or delivered through a chakra attack?" Rania asked. Vilis turned serious.
" They are several that I myself created and a few other created by other nins. I can do some research and see but I'll need..." Vilis said. Rania cut him off.
" A vial of my blood. Go ahead, get some before I get too sleepy." Rania said holding out her arm. Vilis removed the needle from his pocket. He then took a vial of Rania's blood. Nothing appeared wrong with it as he drew it into the needle but he knew the deadliest toxins were those that can't be seen. Quickly he placed in a bag.
"I'll get to work on this now. Hopefully I'll have the answer soon." Vilis said. Rania nodded as he left. Vilis quickly went to find Doc. Doc was giving a nurse some instructions when Vilis found him.
"That's it for now. Vilis, what can I do for you?" Doc said.
"Did you give Rania anything to make her sleepy?." Vilis asked.
"No, Rania's coming off if an adrenaline high. She's going to be sleepy. I'll check in on her. Now shoo."Doc said. Vilis left. Once outside, he was greeted by Veran and Honey.
How is Rania? Veran signed. Vilis spoke.
"Doc's keeping her overnight. I'm going to do some research on chakra poisons. And Veran, Rania said to keep him alive, question him, but do not kill him." Vilis said. Veteran's orange eyes gleamed.
I will make sure that he will live. You don't mess with our leader and get away with it. Honey, what do you think?
"I think I need to interrogate this nin. My tactics dont kill. And I would be the easiest one to do so." Honey said her golden eyes gleaming. Like Honey over Razor blades. Vilis thought. Veran sighed.
I agree. The others could lose their tempers. And he wouldn't suspect you. But I will be in the room as well. Veran signed. Honey smiled.
"Of course, my love. Now, shall we?" Honey said as they left Vilis at the door to the experiment room. Vilis entered to find Orochimaru busy. The two had hit it off once Orochimaru had been cleared. Both looked for ways to stop diseases and viruses. Vilis sighed as he sit down
"Bad?" Orochimaru asked. Vilis turned to answer.
"I'm thinking poison. What kind? unsure. But Rania has an unique blood type. So someone would have to either know it or get lucky with a guess. As it is, Rania is in the hospital under observation. This is a vial of her blood. I'm going to try to find out which poison it is." Vilis said, taking the vial out. Orochimaru observed it.
"The blood doesn't look bad but that in itself is concerning. Most poisons react to the blood." Orochimaru said. Vilis nodded gravely and began his work.
Itha island
"I don't like this place. Too many eyes." Deidara said. Sasori agreed. The duo was walking through a small town dressed as wanderers to blend in. High above them, a lone figure watched. His orders were to follow unless they started to attack. The duo walked throughout the square until they came to an inn. Quickly they entered the inn. A few people were sitting in the common area. A portly woman was serving food and drinks from a bar. Deidara walked to the bar.
"Good evening, may I help you?" The woman replied. Deidara spoke.
"We need two single rooms and meals if possible." Deidara said. The woman smiled and handed him a pen.
"Aye, I have two single rooms side by side. Meals come with the room. Its 200 a night for both rooms." The woman said as Deidara signed the book. Sasori handed her the money for one night. Deidara grunted.
"Can we have our food delivered to our rooms? We've been traveling and we are tired." Deidara asked.
"Of course. I'll have Elisha bring it to you. Your rooms are this way." The woman said. She led them up the staircase to the last two rooms. She handed them both their keys and they opened the door. A single bed, nightstand, and desk filled one side of the room. A small bathroom with a tub was off to one side. A silk screen protected the resident from others view.
"You like?" The woman asked. Deidara nodded.
"Good. If you need anything, just ask Shashi." She said.
"Who's Shashi?" Deidara asked.
"That's me. I'll send Elisha with your food soon. Goodnight." Shashi said. Quickly she left the two men to get settled. She came back down to see a very familiar face at the bar. She quickly began to serve him.
"Two single rooms at the back. Elisha is going to bring their food to them. What are our orders from Lady?" Shashi asked. The man removed his cloak to reveal a handsome tanned face with a strong jaw and piercing light green eyes. His long black hair had a streak of white at the front. He was tall and sinewy-slender but muscular. His hair hung over his eyes giving him an unruly look. He spoke quietly
"Watch those two. They are wanted criminals. Mason and I will handle them. Lady wants them alive. And Shashi, I'll take their food to them. After all, that's Sasori of the Red Sand and Deidara of Iwa. They are wanted alive."
"Of course, Yanni, I'll get the food ready now." Shashi said. Yanni nodded. Soon he was the only one at the bar. A figure sat beside him. This man was about 6 ft tall with the aura of a nobleman. Yanni looked at the newcomer.
"You're late, Mason. Shashi is getting the food for our targets. Where were you?" Yanni asked. Mason looked at him. Mason's face was tanned as Yanni's was. He had blonde hair that has done in a braid down his back. His heartwarming brown eyes accented his handsomely chiseled face with their high cheekbones and dimples. But Mason's looks were deceptively innocent. He would kill anyone who dares to threaten the peace of the world. Sasori was going to learn a valuable lesson today, a lesson in pain. Yanni looked at Shashi brought out the food. Quickly, Yanii took the food from her and headed to the back rooms. He knocked softly.
"Leave it. We'll get it from the door ourselves!" Deidara said from inside the room. Leaving the food outside the door, Yanni departed to the bar once again. Mason was there.
"They didn't open the door so I left the food in front. Mason, any orders from our General?" Yanni asked as he sipped his water.
"The General wants them alive. They are going to be the spouts of information we need. He also said that someone tried to attack Lady Rania. He is being held prisoner." Mason replied. Yanni looked at Mason. They order were to kill if necessary but to bring those traitors t back alive was going to be fun. Suddenly, another duo entered the inn. A tall man and a woman sat at the bar.
"Hello, mind if we sit here?" The tall man said. Yanni smiled.
"No, my friend and I were just saying how nice it would be to share the bar." Mason replied. The duo sat down and the inn got noisy again.
"So, Selene, you were sent as well?" Yanni asked. The woman removed her hood and smiled. Her long black hair was in a braid over her shoulder. She had a long, narrow face, full red lips, silver eyes that sparkled, and moon pale skin. She was average height compared to her tall companion. He removed his hood to reveal his face. He was an older man with black hair that was white at the temples. His face was tanned from years in the sun but his eyes were a piercing green that could make a weak man shake with fright. He was broad shouldered and carried a b
huge war hammer under his cloak. Mason smirked.
"So, we get the help of two of the NightSeekers. Hello, Drak, you are here to help." Mason asked. Drak looked at him.
"If needed yes. The Lady was attacked earlier and Lord Consul wants them alive. I figured that we could also help to "escort" the fugitives back." Drak said. Selene smiled. Yanni smiled.
"Well, let's go introduce ourselves." Mason said. The group headed up to the room where the two fugitives were meeting. Selene knocked on the door. Deidara opened the door.
"What do you want, woman, we are busy!" Deidara said. Selene smiled.
"We are here to take you in for your crimes. Will you come willingly or is force needed?" Selene said, smiling. Deidara scoffed.
"Get lost!! You ain't gonna take us in. One woman and her goons. Leave before I blow this building sky high!" Deidara said. Selene smiled.
"Force it is then." Selene said. Sasori spoke from within.
"Deidara, do not hurt the woman. She'll make a fine puppet." Sasori said. Selene smirked.
"Mason, I think you can play with this one." Selene smirked. Mason smiled.
"You're Sasori of the Red Sands. Puppeteer and total maniac." Mason said.
"So you know me. Maybe I'll turn you into a puppet as well." Sasori said. Sasori pulled his mother and father puppets from his cloak. Mason laughed. Deidara looked at Yanni.
"So I get the old man. Easy. Art is a Explosion!" Deidara Said. Yanni smiled. It was a smile that sent chills down Deidara's spine. Deidara shook it off and jumped into the air.
"Clay Art: Clay pigeons!" Deidara called out. Yanni laughed as the pigeons neared him. The clay bombs exploded cause the inn to shake. Deidara laughed.
"Some fighter!! Taken down in one blow!" Deidara said gleefully. Suddenly, Yanni's voice pierced the silence.
"Is that all you have, little boy? A few exploding bombs? Child's Play." Yanni said. The clearing smoke revealed Yanni unhurt and smiling. Mason looked at Sasori.
"I hope you have better tricks than those puppets. Otherwise, it's not going to end well for you." Mason said. Sasori spoke.
"These are the best puppets in the world. You are no threat to me." Sasori spoke. Mason smiled again.
"Well, Sasori of the Red Sands, it seems that we are in for a quick battle. Tell me, do you think your family is proud of your puppetry? What would your mother say? Let's find out." Mason said. Sasori's head shot up.
"What do you mean? You can't raise the dead." Sasori spoke. Mason looked at him.
"No I cannot but I can summon the souls of the departed. Have you never heard of a SoulSpeaker? A person with the ability to speak and summon the souls of the dead." Mason said. Sasori looked at him his face emotionless. SoulSpeakers were myths and legends. Could this man be such? Sasori thought.
"Arise, Yasei and Sora parents of Sasori of the red sands." Mason said. Two spirits appeared. The spirits looked at Sasori.
"How could you join the very people who killed us? You are not our Sasori. You are a monster." Sora's spirit said. Sasori was speechless.
"Sasori, kill the bastard! Its a trick." Deidara said from his clay pigeon. Yanni smiled.
"I'm your opponent. Lets play some more. Earth Style:Earthen Golem." Yanni said. Deidara was silenced as the earth burst open and a giant earth creature walked out. Yanni smiled again.
"I am the child of sea and sky, of earth and fire, of sun and moon. My abilities are limitless. Your clay attacks are earth based so the have no effect on me. Mine however can affect you. Golem, capture this man." Yanni spoke. Deidara made to fly away until he seen earthen hands wrap around him. Deidara tried a few eartg bombs but no effect. Suddenly a beautiful voice was singing.
Lay down your head, sweet darling mine, Lay down your sword and bow
Come to me in the night
Come to my abode
Sleep with me in beautiful bliss
Until you awaken at dawns first kiss
Deidara suddenly found himself sleepy and closed his eyes for a moment. As he fell into a deep slumbering sleep, chains were wrapped around him to secure him. Yanni looked at Selene.
"Im gladly we are immune to your singing. Mason, you good?"
"Yes, now to end this battke before it has even begun. Spirits, defeat this boy and chain him alive." Mason said. The spirits nodded.
"SAND ART:RESTRAINING SAND COCOON!" The spirits cried out. Sasori made to leave but the sand covered him quickly. Chains were wrapped around him until he could move. The puppets that he carried were stripped from him and destroyed. Sasori struggled but the remembered thst this was his parents hidden capture justu. Soon, he was out cold. Mason nodded.
"Return to your slumber, spirits. I will ensure his safety." Mason said. The spirits puffed away. Mason looked at Yanni.
"Lets go home."
