It had been a beautiful day. Sully and Michaela had strolled comfortably around town, completely in love, enjoying the fact that their only purpose was to enjoy being with each other and finding presents for the children. Sully had found a new pocket knife for Brian, and Michaela had bought a new dress for Colleen. Now Matthew was the only one left to buy for. As they looked over the pocket watches, Sully had his arm around her with his hand gently resting on her waist. He couldn't help gently caressing her as they stood there, and Michaela certainly noticed his slow, gentle caresses. The delicate pressure that pressed into her caused her to blush a little and she reached for his hand. Turning into him she looked up, pleading for him to give her a moment to regather her propriety. He smiled as his hand caressed over her back and dropped to her hand. He didn't want to embarrass her in public, but he had to admit that he wanted to be holding her at every moment.
The salesman walked up to them at this moment, and smiling he asked them if there was anything he could help them with. Michaela asked to see one of the watches that had a decorative scroll with flowers surrounding it, it was a beautiful watch. She lifted it up in her hand, "Oh, Sully, this is beautiful, should we get it for him?" He smiled, nothing made him more happy than seeing her pleased. "I think he would like it very much, Michaela." She smiled, turning back to the salesman, she said, "We'll, take this one please." Michaela arranged for it to be engraved, and as the man took the watch and turned, Sully took her hand again and pulled their hands closer to her leg, briefly caressing her hip with the back of his hand. She blushed again and she turned to him, holding back a smile, she softly put her other hand up on his arm, "He said we could pick it up later today, would you like to go back to the hotel?" He smiled, "We can't." Now she was confused. He smiled at her confusion, "Well, I got us tickets for the opera tonight and I thought you might want to pick out a new dress to wear." Her eyes were sparkling with happiness, "Oh Sully, I would love to. Would you like to come with me, you may pick the dress if you like?" He smiled, "I was hoping you would ask that." They made their way over to the dress store and she picked a few dresses to try on. Sully thought she was beautiful in everything but as she entered the room with the last dress on, he was in awe of her. It was a deep blue dress with lace accents and a neckline that perfectly accentuated her. He stood up from the chair he had been sitting in and smiled.
She could feel the desire he had for her and continuing to look into his eyes, she said, "I believe this is the dress, could you have this boxed up for me please." The saleslady, not wanting to interrupt them, simply said yes and walked to the storage area to retrieve the appropriate boxes. Michaela slowly walked towards him and asked, "Would you like to see anymore right now Sully?" He looked into her eyes, "I think it's time to go back to the hotel Michaela." She smiled a crooked smile and turning, she said, "I'll have the assistant help me with these buttons." He couldn't help but look at her shape as she walked away, and having the assistant help her was probably best at the moment. After he paid for the dress, Sully carried her things to a carriage and they made their way back to their room. Sully asked for hot water for the tub and they both made their way to the bathroom. Now they were together in the tub again and Sully gently rubbed over her arms. He wanted to massage her back, so he asked her to move forward. Repeating her actions from last night he pressed his thumbs into her muscles, and it felt so good. He worked his way up and massaged her shoulders. She was full of desire but they both knew that repeating their actions from the previous night would only end with them not going out at all, so they just enjoyed the heat between them knowing that eventually when they returned for the night, their passions could be fully met. He breathed in deeply and leaned forward, kissing her soft ivory skin. Little soft kisses caressed her back and moved slowly to her neck. His lips remained on her shoulder and he lingered for a few moments, then he raised his head and spoke softly, "Shall we get ready to go? I'll help you into that blue dress if you like." She smiled and laughed a little, "I'll let you help me now if you promise to help me later as well." He leaned back a little and lightly ran his middle finger down her back, "You mean with those buttons?" She arched her back slightly and smiled, "If it's not too much trouble." He smiled and kissed her neck, "I don't think that will be any trouble at all ." She leaned back, and raising her head, she kissed him slowly and firmly. Then they both stood and left the tub to get ready for their night out in Denver.
The opera was beautiful, they had both enjoyed it very much. Memories of Boston were revisited as she leaned very close and gently spoke in his ear, describing the details for him. Sully did enjoy the opera, seeing the people onstage and not understanding what they were saying reminded him of his early days with the Cheyenne, knowing that he had learned their mannerisms long before he understood them. And the beautiful language that Michaela was able to interpret back to him only made him feel like they had more in common than they had realized. In Boston it had made him feel closer to confessing his true feelings. He had been so close to just telling her that he loved her that night. Michaela was having her own memories. It seemed as though she had arrived at the very same moment. When she had told him goodnight at the end of their evening, it was only because she had desperately needed to distance herself. She felt something much deeper than affections at that moment and it had made her nervous. Boston had felt good, back to proper standards of living and social interaction, everything she had given up. Colorado was so rugged, so unpredictable. As much as she denied her affections, she had tried to deny her love of the unpredictable, rugged, and challenging land that had become her place. Standing on those steps that night, she knew where her home was, but she still denied it through proper authority, proper acceptance of what she would be giving up to potentially have something genuine and real, someone genuine and real. In her mind, it was only fair to give Boston this last chance. She had slowly removed her jewelry and clothing that night, and upon dressing for bed, she lay there only thinking of the matters of her heart. She knew she loved Boston, but something was missing, and she loved Colorado Springs in a way she never had before. If only the two could be combined. In her mind it wasn't wrong to think Sully would be patient enough to let her find what she wanted for herself. She never dreamed he would leave her, but upon his confession of a most ardent love on the train after she found him, she knew there was no comparison. She had to say goodbye to a life in Boston for good, she had never seen him so hurt, and she had been the cause, she did love him, and she had to go to him.
At the conclusion of their current evening, Sully led her outside on his arm, but as soon as they left the theater, he moved his hand to her hand and they continued walking for a little while. There were so many stars in the sky, it seemed like a waste to get directly into a carriage. Michaela looked over at him as they held hands. "Sully, it's not that far, let's just walk back to the hotel." Being with him, enjoying the beautiful night sky was just too enticing. He smiled, "We'll just take our time, there's no rush." They both stopped in a quiet area, leaning in, he softly kissed her lips. She replied with a longer kiss and slowly pulled away. A shooting star blazed across the star-filled sky, but neither one of them saw it.
They resumed their walk. Tonight felt special, now they were beginning to accept their constant time together and being comfortable in just appreciating the other's presence. Slowly, they walked the city streets back to their hotel. As they neared their destination there was a small park. Deciding to stroll through the area, they were beside a small pond when they noticed a mother duck leading her baby ducks back to a safe place for the night. They both smiled, but it made Michaela wonder, she was already concerned that she may not be able to give him a child. She had to admit though, she did wonder if it was possible that she could already be pregnant. They certainly hadn't tried to not conceive. She glanced over at him, and he smiled as he watched the baby ducks. He felt her looking at him so he turned his head to look at her, she quickly smiled and in order to distract him and herself from her thoughts, she pulled on his hand. He followed and they left the park.
When they reached the hotel, the door closed and Michaela stopped in the entryway, waiting for him. His hands slid across her sides and he hugged her from behind, leaning in and kissing her neck. "Would you like me to lay a fire, or should I ring for someone." She smiled, it seemed silly to her now that she had treated him in such a manner in Boston. "I think you are more than capable of laying a fire, Sully, it does sound nice." He kissed her shoulder. "I'll be right back to help you with those buttons." His hands slid away from her and she patiently waited and watched him as he built a fire for them. Being satisfied with the fire that now burned, he looked over his shoulder while still kneeling. Keeping contact with her, he stood and walked to the bed, he moved the blankets and two pillows to the floor. Then he returned to her.
He moved behind her, just the way he had left her. He kissed her shoulder again, and her soft kisses were so pleasant and she breathed in deeply and leaned against him putting her hand in his hair as he continued to kiss her neck. Her left hand moved between her breast and she briefly held her chest above her heart before letting her hand slide down her own body, over her dress. She reached back grasping his thigh, pulling him against her. His own hands continued to caress her. Then, he pulled away. Using his index finger, he started at her neck and slowly traced down her spine until he reached the first button on her dress. She felt the button release, then another, and then another. When he finished with the buttons, his hands slipped under the fabric, and running along the sides of her back, he lifted the fabric away from her skin as his hands guided it off of her shoulders. She removed her arms from the dress and it fell to the floor. Then he released her petticoat. He picked her up and walked to the fireplace. Then he set her down and they stood in front of each other. Sully reached for his own shirt and removed it. He tossed it aside. Slowly, they both removed the other's remaining clothing. Gently easing her to the floor he moved over her. She could feel the warmth of the fire, and he pulled a pillow over for her. He gently caressed her face and looked deep within her eyes. She heard him gasp for air a little. He was totally caught up with her beauty. Gently , he pressed against her and moved within her. Michaela gasped a little and lovingly looked into his eyes, a whirlwind of emotions containing one request, that she currently could not get out of her mind. "Sully?" He simply raised his eyebrows. She didn't hesitate, " I want a baby." She was nervous, she knew he wanted his own children, and maybe it was too soon to ask, but she had realized in the park that they really didn't have time to wait. He was very serious now, and he smiled, relieving her anxiety. "I want a baby too." He gently kissed her lips. He caressed her face, and Michaela reached for his face, letting her hand slide into his hair. The flames from the fire reflected in both their eyes. He smoothly thrust forward and leaned down, kissing her again. Beautiful slow affections were shared between them. Upon completion of their passions, they held each other close and after a few moments, Sully pulled away, removing himself, but he had no intention of going to sleep. He used his recovery time to kiss and caress along her body. He worked his way to the lower area of her abdomen and kissed her there, laying his head against her for a few moments, he softly caressed her hip and moved up her side. Then he pulled away and his hand slid up her middle, caressing her under her breast, his hand gently moved over her, finding her breast. He just held her and he leaned in and kissed her passionately. They didn't stop kissing and his finger moved over her nipple, she felt him against her, and she was pleased because she had such an effect on him. She pulled him to her letting her hand reach down to his backside, pulling him into her. He entered her again. They continued all night. Eventually, he stood and lifted her and placed her on the bed. The sheet was still there and he pulled it over them, they made love one final time, he had given her everything he had and rolling to his back, Sully rested against the remaining pillows. He pulled her to him. She lay upon him, her leg hooked over his, completely loved, completely appreciating his affections, and caressing each other, they finally fell asleep.
