Azara groaned as she slowly opened her eyes, waking up. Still groggy, she noticed the small dog like creature as he stared at her.
"Oh, hey you're awake," King said.
"Doggie..." Azara reached out wrapping her arms around King hugging him as if he was like a stuffed animal. She nuzzled her face against his, hugging him even more tighter.
"Hey, what are you-Stop! I'm not a dog! I am the king of demons!" King shouted as he tried to push her away with his hand. "Eda, Luz! Help!" King squirmed in Azara's arms, trying to get out, but, he couldn't. Frustrated, he suddenly let out an high pitched squeal that sounded like a tea kettle going off.
"Meeeeeh!"
Azara gasped and squealed.
"That's so cute!"
"Get off of me!" King shouted for help. "Eda, help!" Azara saw the owl lady and Luz as they came into the room.
"What is going on in here?" Eda questioned until she saw King trapped in Azara's arms and laughed. "So the mighty king of demons is bested by a human." She teased. Azara released King and he quickly ran over to Eda.
"Now, that you're awake, we need some answers. Who are you? And how did you get here?"
"Can I take a bath first, please? I'm covered in dirt, and puke and got twigs, leaves and bones in my hair." Azara asked. Luz smiled.
"Sure, it's down the hall, take a right, two lefts then another right, up the stairs, five doors down." She told Azara. Azara stared at Luz completely lost. She didn't catch a single thing that Luz had told her.
"Uh?" Luz laughed.
"I'm joking! It's just down this hall, three doors down." Azara smiled back.
"Thank you." She said and got up walking out of the room heading down the hallway to the bathroom.
After getting cleaned up and feeling refreshed, Azara was now sitting on the couch in the living room with King, Eda and Luz.
"Now, let's talk kid," Eda said.
"Well, before I start, who are you guys?" Azara asked .
"I'm Luz, this is Eda," Luz told Azara as she introduced them to her. "And lastly, this is King, the king of demons!" Suddenly, Azara saw the owl beast of the house bust open the door and shot right out at her. "I'm Hooty, I'm the owl house! Hoot! Hoot!" Azara's eyes widened in fear and she screamed and punched Hooty right in the eye.
"Ow! Jeez, you didn't have to hit me! Hoot!"
"You ate me!" Azara shouted, angrily. Eda stepped in between Hooty and Azara, separating them.
"Cool it, you two. I'm sure Hooty didn't mean to do it. It's kind of a habit of his. He eats random things and spits them back up."
Azara looked back at Hooty feeling guilty that she punched him.
"I'm sorry, Hooty."
"It's okay, but you got to make it up to me, later."
"It's a deal."
"So, you're a real king?" Azara asked King as she turned to him.
"Well, I don't know specially yet, Eda found me when I was just a baby," King explained. "I only found out just a few days ago from an old ruins that I came from."
"Oh, well then, I'm Azara." Azara introduced herself to them.
"Like Azura?!" Luz asked excitedly.
"No, my name is Azara." She corrected Luz before thinking. "Wait a minute, are you talking about those corny cheesy romance witch novels?"
"Blasphemer!" Luz shouted, insulted. Azara continued to explain to the group.
"I don't really know how I got here. The one minute I was at home with my mom and brother then the next I woke up here."
"Try to remember." Eda said. "What was the last thing that you remember?" Azara thought for a minute.
"Wait a minute, there was a strange key that I found!" Luz's, Eda's and King's eyes widened in surprise.
"Do you have it with you now?" Luz asked with a hopeful look on her face.
"No, I don't." Azara replied shaking her head. Azara saw Luz look down sadly.
"Is something wrong?" She asked Luz .
"I'm stuck here just like you, I still have my key but the door was destroyed." Luz explained. "I miss my Mama."
"I'm sure you'll find a way back to her." Azara assured her.
"Thanks," Luz smiled.
"Oh, and somehow when I woken up I can do magic now." Azara told them.
"Oh, yeah? Prove it!" King replied.
"You mean Glyph magic?" Luz asked. "I can do that to but I'm still learning!"
"What's Glyph magic?" Azara asked. Luz pulled out some paper and began to draw some strange symbols and showed them as she laid them out on the floor to her. "These are."
Azara noticed a familiar symbol "That's the one that made a fire ball."
"Do you want to try it out? " Luz asked.
"Okay," Azara shrugged her hands. Luz held out the pen and paper out to her but Azara didn't take them. Azara traced a circle with her finger and drew the symbol and a ball of fire shot out hitting a potted plant nearby. Eda and Luz had shocked looks on their faces.
"It seems that there's more to you than meets the eye, kid." Eda hummed in thought.
"How did you do that?!" Luz asked, excitedly. "Do you have any juicy dark secrets?"
"I don't know. I just did it and Abracadabra, Magic!" Azara told her.
"I will know your secrets one way or another." Luz replied.
"Speaking of secrets, Luz I need you to run into town and grab the you know what and some apple blood of you get the chance." Eda told Luz.
"Okay," Luz stood up then put her fingers to her lips and whistled. Azara saw an owl staff shot out from across the room and flew straight into Luz's hand.
"How about I take you on a tour of the Boiling Isles and Bonesborough?" she asked.
"Sure," Azara responded. Luz and her walked outside and Azara hesitantly got onto the staff. She felt her feet began to lift from off the ground and soon Luz and her were high in the sky as they took off. Down below Azara saw some strange bones that looked like a giant creature that formed an island.
As Luz steered the staff, she heard Azara humming happily behind her. Her voice sounded so melodic and enchanting. Luz turned her head back to her. Azara stopped when she noticed Luz staring at her.
"Sorry, I kind of randomly sing when I'm happy." She smiled, embarrassed. Luz laughed.
"Us weirdos got to stick together."
Through the crowded and busy streets of Bonesborough, were Hunter and little rascal as they walked. The cardinal sensed and heard something nearby, it sounded like a siren singing. He pulled on the Hunter's cloak trying to guide him in the direction, where the music was coming from. Hunter pulled away making the bird let go of him.
"We have to go back to the castle." He told the bird. The cardinal frowned and chirped in defiance.
"Where are you going? You're going to get caught!" Hunter shouted. The cardinal ignored the his warning as it flew away. This could be his chance to finally loose that palisman. He turned around getting ready to walk away but he stopped. Hunter groaned before turning around and chased after it.
"Now, you stay right here and I'll get some apple blood for Eda." She told Azara and walked over shop. Azara hummed and walked away. "Uh huh, yeah, sure." Leaving Luz as she was lost in her own thoughts. As she headed further away down the streets until she was out of sight. Luz turned around, smiling while holding a couple of jars of apple blood and noticed the Azara was gone!
"On no!" She cringed, looking around worried.
Azara hummed and continued walking taking in the view and the sights of the town, amazed by the strange creatures like goblins, fairies, and other people as well with pointed ears who were witches. Her brother would totally love this place. Her eyes widened and she stopped and looked down sadly. She wondered how her mother and her brother were doing right now. Suddenly, Azara felt a small weight on her shoulder and she turned head. Her eyes widened in surprise to see a red cardinal bird. It chirped as it looked at her.
"Oh, where did you come from little guy?" Azara asked, petting the bird's stomach with her finger. The bird chirped happily in response.
"Get back here!" She heard a voice call out and turned her head to see who it was. Her green eyes was met with fuchsia colored eyes. She saw a boy with grayish blond hair, wearing guard armor and pointed ears. Azara blushed as she stared at him. He was the most beautiful and cutest thing that she had ever seen. Hunter was starting to feel very uneasy as she confirmed to stare at him.
"Does he belong to you?" Azara asked, still blushing.
"No." The cardinal let out happy chirp and flew back over to the boy landing on his shoulder, nuzzling his neck.
"Well, he certainly seem to know you." Azara laughed. She saw the boy's cheeks and ears turn red, blushing.
"What is your name?" Azara asked him. The boy didn't answer her. Azara frowned as she stared at him.
"Well, my name is Azara."
"And I don't care. I've already wasted enough time talking with you." Azara stared in disbelief. No, she took it all back, thinking that he was cute, this boy was a royal spoiled brat!
"Do you treat everybody that you first meet like this?" Azara asked a little angry.
"Only to the annoying ones." Hunter replied. Azara's eye twitched in disbelief and she scoffed. Then Hunter noticed something strange about the girl standing in front of him. He saw that she didn't have pointed ears like witch, like that human.
"Wait a minute, are you a human?" He asked. Azara huffed still angry.
"Well, if you must know, I am." She told him. "I came through a door after I found a key and now I'm trapped here-" Hunter's eyes widened when Azara said "key" but silently continued to listen. "I woke up in a forest and surprise, surprise! Boom! Giant fire ball magic!" His eyes widened even more in realization.
"YOU!" Hunter snapped. Azara immediately stopped talking and went quiet. She looked back at Hunter seeing the enraged expression in his eyes. She smiled, sheepishly, and made a nervous laugh.
"I'm sorry?" she apologized.
"Sorry? You almost killed me!" Hunter shouted.
"But, I didn't," Azara shrugged her hands, smiling.
"Well, did you also know that its considered to be treason for attacking an member of the emperor's coven?" Hunter sneered.
Azara made a choking noise, and immediately froze, processing his words. Then she nervously fiddled with her fingers, drumming them together. She took in a deep breath and looked at Hunter directly in his eyes.
"Uh, well then, I just have one thing to say," Azara started to speak before her hand quickly lashed out and pulled down the hood from Hunter's cloak over his head and took off running. "Byeeee!"
"Hey!" Hunter growled as he pulled back the hood, seeing her run away. "I guess we're doing this the hard way." The cardinal chirped and turned to him before transforming into a staff. He caught it in his hands, looking down at it with a hesitant look.
"I'm only going to do this once," he told the cardinal palisman. "Understand?" Then he chased after Azara.
Azara ran cutting through alleys and corridors. She tried knocking down boxes and trashcans to lose Hunter, to slow him down, but he jumped over them. Azara ran turning around another corner into another alley until her face was met with a brick wall. A dead end. She looked behind her to see Hunter hot on her trail. She squeaked and quickly made a fire spell drawing a circle and symbol with her finger. A small fire ball shot out heading straight at Hunter. He quickly dodged it and used the cardinal palisman to teleport himself. Azara's eyes widened as she looked around to find him but she didn't see him anywhere. He had vanished! She backed away until she bumped into something behind her. Azara turned around and her eyes widened in shock to see Hunter. He made a smug smirk.
"Hiiiiii," he mocked in a sing songy voice as he taunted her. Hunter pointed the staff at Azara and she felt herself being pushed back and fell to the ground. Ropes then appeared, trapping Azara, as they wrapped around her. As she tried to get up, Azara was met with a staff pointing at her face. She looked up to see Hunter as he stared down at her.
"End of the line, human."
