It is in the dark of night, Hunter, Azara, Eda, Luz, Amity, and King hid behind a building, peeking out looking at the prison before them. Lil rascal was sitting on Hunter's shoulder. The Conformatorium was heavily guarded as there were guards everywhere and spot-lights conjured up by light magic, that will go off and sound the alarm if touched. Ahead of them was another building, a warehouse, that had the secret entrance into the prison. But, there were two guards at the front door. They were sitting down playing a card game of Hexes Hold 'em.
"Okay, here we are," Hunter told them. "The secret entrance is just over there. But, there are some guards in the way. We need to distract them, somehow."
"Say no more," Luz smirked mischievously. Eda smirked as well. King rode on Eda in her hair. The two held up the bags and quietly sneaked over to the guards as the others watched them.
"I wonder what's in those bags?" Azara asked.
"Well, knowing those two,-" Amity was cut off by a loud shriek from the guards as they screamed in fear. The group looked and saw the guards running away from the building. There were snakes wrapped around them, biting them as well. Some were slithering on the ground, coming out of the bag that Eda and Luz had dumped on them.
"SNAKES!" a guard shouted.
"WHY ARE THERE SNAKES EVERYWHERE?!" another one cried out as well.
"There's your answer." Amity smiled. King laughed, enjoying their cries of misery.
"Haha! Look at them, if they don't die from a heart attack, the poison will do it!"
"P-Poison?!" Azara and Hunter both sputtered at the same time.
"This is supposed to be a get in and get out mission!" Hunter hissed at King. "This isn't very conspicuous! What are the other guards going to do when they find their dead bodies lying on the ground!?"
"Relax, those types of snakes are harmless," Amity smirked. "They'll just be temporarily paralyzed for awhile."
"How is that any better?" Azara asked.
"Wow, you two really are a pair," King muttered, rolling his eyes. "It's surprising that you two aren't together yet." Both Hunter and Azara stared at King with surprised looks before glancing at each other and blushed then looked away. Eda and Luz walked back over to the group, laughing at their prank. They stopped as they noticed Hunter and Azara both blushing, not looking at each other.
"What did we miss?" Eda teased.
"Nothing!" Hunter snapped, embarrassed, and stormed over to the warehouse. "Let's just get this over with!"
"Did something happen when we left?" Luz asked Azara.
"No!" Azara shook her head. "Let's get Raine and leave before we get caught!" She ran, following after Hunter. The others chased after them, following them into the warehouse. Hunter showed Eda where the sewer grate was that lead to the prison and she lifted it up. One by one, everyone jumped down into it, then finally Eda and she closed the lid back, halfway.
A couple of minutes later, the lid slid open by itself and footsteps were heard as they splashed in the water, following after the group.
Now inside of the Conformatorium, Everyone walked down a long dank and dark hallway. They slipped into nearby corridors every now and then when a guard passed by. Eventually, Hunter stopped in front of a door, opening it.
"Your friend, Raine, should be in here." he told them. Everyone walked into the room and Hunter closed the door behind them, making sure that they weren't followed. Eda walked along the prison cells, looking for Raine.
"Mama Eda!" Katya called out happily when she saw Eda. It was three captive B.A.T.T.S members, Amber Katya and Derwin.
"You three, okay?" Eda walked over to the three witch's prison cells, and pulled the lever down, opening their cells, freeing them. "We're going to get you guys out of here, soon.-" Her eyes widen and she froze.
Everyone walked over to her as they saw her standing in front of a cell, yelling at someone. It was Raine! In the cell, Raine was suspended as they were floating in mid air with a dazed look in their eyes. There were strange thorne-like markings wrapped around their body, like a cocoon, coming from his coven mark on his wrist.
"Raine!" Eda called out to them. "Do you hear me? Say something!"
"They can't hear you," Amity told her. "It looks like they're in a deep sleep animation of some sorts."
"Can you keep it down, as well?" Hunter said. "Why not just alert everyone that we're here, while you're at it?"
"Kid, did you know about this?" Eda narrowed her eyes, turning around glaring at him. Hunter's eyes widened and shook his head. "No!" He said. "All I knew, was that he was here. That's all, I swear!"
"Let's just grab them and get out of here!" Azara told them. "We'll figure it out how to free them later!"
Eda nodded and luz walked over to the cell and picked the lock with an ice glyph, unlocking it. Eda ran over to Raine and reached out to get them. Just as she did, an loud alarm went off.
"We need to go, now!" Luz shouted. Eda threw Raine over her back, carrying them, following behind the others. Suddenly, swarms of guards were now chasing them down the hallways as they ran. As they managed to lose them, Luz and Amity used glyph and abomination magic to blast open the door. Everyone ran outside, now in the courtyard, only to be blocked by two people.
Hunter's eyes widen as did Eda's when they saw a man with muscular and dark skin, bright green eyes, sideburns and a goatee, dressed in purple chest piece with a gold collar, a pink side cape, light purple pants, white gloves and boots with purple ends. His dark flowing purple hair, had an eye of an abomination, and was tied up in a bun. Beside him, was a small cat-like creature, that looked like a small child. They had orange fur, red wild and poofy hair tied up in a yellow band. Yellow eyes with magenta iris with slit pupils, and pointed ears like a cat's. They were in a sage green sleeveless shirt, spiked yellow bracers, a dull brown loincloth shaped like a claw and grey boots.
"So, who's pretty boy and wolf-boy over there?" King asked nervously.
"That's the coven heads, of the abomination and beast coven, Darius and Eberwolf," Hunter explained. "Do not let your guard down around them."
Darius transformed into an abomination and opened his eyes, revealing glowing green ones. Eberwolf transformed as well, turning into a more ferocious creature with elongated fangs and claws, becoming more beast-like.
"Kikimora, has ordered a high bounty for your capture golden guard," Darius smirked. "The emperor will be most pleased to see you returned. So, let's make this easy and surrender now."
"We're taking Raine and we're leaving!" Eda shouted. "Get out of our way!"
Suddenly, Eberwolf was sniffing around. His eyes turned into slits and went into predator mode and growled and lunged out towards Azara. Azara quickly traced a fire glyph in the air making a big circle. It fired heading straight at the beast coven leader. Eberwolf managed to evade it and was still coming towards her. He was now inches from her, but suddenly, he leaped over Azara, crashing into someone else instead. He wasn't after her, then who... Azara heard a scream and she gasped and turned her head.
She saw her brother as he tried to push the beast off of him. Eberwolf's claws clamped down on him, pinning John to the ground. "John!"
"Azara, help!" John cried out. Azara ran over to them, while Hunter and the other dealt with Darius.
"Get off of him!" Azara shouted. She made a earth glyph in the air and some roots shot out from the ground separating the beast leader and brother apart. Eberwolf struggled with the vines while John got up and ran over to Azara. He smiled as he looked up at her only to flinch, seeing her angry, no beyond furious.
"I told you to stay back at the house!" She shouted.
"It's not fair!" John argued back at her. "You can go out so why can't I! I can do magic too!"
"You're still just a kid! What if you got hurt or worse killed? What would I tell mom?" Azara frowned. "That was a very stupid thing to do!"
"Well, I'm sorry, that I'm not some magic prodigy like you! Who can just make magic like it's nothing out of thin air! And only on one try!" He shouted back at her. Azara's eyes widened in shock, stepping back. "John..." Darius used his abomination goo to knock back Eda, Luz and Hunter while Amity tried to deflect some of it with hers, only to be knocked down as well.
"Head's up!" Azara heard Eda shout out to her. She turned her head to see Darius coming towards her and John. She glanced over at John who was still not looking at her.
Azara quickly made a earth pillar, protecting the two of them, just as Darius stretched his arm towards her and John.
"Such strong magic for one human," Darius muttered under his breath. He smirked. Azara's eyes widened and she quickly grabbed John, jumping out of the way, just as the pillar was sliced in half by Darius, crumbling into pieces. A stray rock smacked right into Azara's head, knocking her down. John ran over to her, trying to help her get up. Azara raised her hand to try to make another spell in air only for Darius to grab ahold of her left arm, snaking his abomination goo around it. It slowly began wrap around tighter and tighter. A sharp crunch was heard followed by a pop. Azara screamed in pain, feeling the bones in her left arm break.
"Azara!" King shouted, worried. Hunter groaned as he got up from the ground, seeing what Darius did to Azara. He clenched Lil Rascal's staff tightly in his hand.
Shakily, Azara quickly made a glyph with her right arm, with some difficulty. She wobbly traced a circle with her finger and a pillar of ice shoot out from the ground, slamming Darius in the chest. It wasn't strong enough, knocking him back, seeing that Darius was right back on his heels again.
"Not so strong now, are we, human?" He taunted, inching closer towards Azara and John. Azara hugged John closer to her as he got closer. Azara narrowed her eyes glaring up at him. This wasn't good! Her left arm was broken and she can barely draw a circle with her right.
"Stay back!" Azara shouted at him. "I mean it!"
"Really? And what are you going to do with that broken arm of yours?" Darius smirked. "You can barely make a perfect spell circle with the other one."
Suddenly, a bright light bounced right in between them, blinding Darius. Azara shielded her eyes, while her brother did the same. As her eyes adjusted, Azara stared up in surprise to see Hunter.
"Stay away from my Azara!" Hunter roared out angrily.
"So, the traitorous golden guard flies in on his staff to save the human girl," Darius laughed. "Oh please! A powerless witch like you is going to defeat me? Don't embarrass yourself than you already have!"
Hunter gripped the staff in his hands tightly. Beads of sweat, was dripping down the sides of his face, nervously.
Hunter, I have a spell that will work but only for a second. We have to time it right. Orion told him. Darius was about to attack. Now! Orion shouted to Hunter. Hunter slammed the palisman's staff end down on the ground and a bright golden light erupted from it, blinding the two coven heads eyes.
Eda turned into Harpy Eda surprising Darius and Eberwolf when she did and grabbed Amber, Katya and Derwin. "Let's go now!" Amity quickly grabbed Luz riding on Ghost, while Hunter got on on Lil Rascal with Azara And John. "You are not escaping!" Darius shouted, still blinded, then stretched out his arm towards Eda but grabbed Raine, instead.
"Raine!" Eda cried out. She was about to go back but Luz stopped her.
"Eda, no!" Luz shouted. "We have to go! We'll get them back, I promise. But, we won't get that chance of we're caught!"
"Alright, kid," Eda sighed, flying off with the others heading back to the owl house. As Luz, Amity, King and Eda were out of ear shot, Hunter glanced back at Azara and her brother behind him. John was asleep in her other arm.
"Does it hurt?" Hunter asked, worried, looking at Azara's arm as she cradled it. Azara made a small smile.
"A little bit," She replied, joking a little. "But, I'll be fine. It's not like I lost it or anything, it's just going to take a while to heal."
"I'll ask the owl lady to put on some healing glyphs when we get back," Hunter told her. "It'll make it heal faster."
"Thank you," Azara told him. "So, maybe it's the concussion talking. But, I thought I heard you say something back there. Something about, "I'm your Azara", huh?" Azara could tell that Hunter was blushing seeing the tips of his ears were slightly red.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about! I said no such thing," Hunter sputtered as his voice cracked a little. "You probably imagined it!"
"Maybe I did," Azara replied, softly. The three flew off following after the others.
