And welcome back to my story, I hope that it's descent. Will Molly succeed in reuniting everyone on time for diner? We'll see...
Chapter 3: Time to eat and strike!
"Woah, jeez. These beds are comfortable. How late is it?" Molly looked at her watch. "Oh fuck! Diner will be served in half an hour. Hey everyone, do you hear me? No, of course my radio had to be out of power! I gotta do everything here as leader!" Molly added. She got out of the bed and left the room. Milou woke up, looked confused, and went back to sleep.
"Robotics, department... Zooli went there, let's find her." Molly said reading some panels in the main areas of the HQ. She arrived shortly after and entered it.
"Zooli? Zooli!" Molly shouted around the room.
"Can I help you with... Hey you're Molly! Do you remember me?" A voice said. Molly turned around.
"Jiang! You here too?" Molly asked.
"I got transferred here too. But ehm, I thought you guys left?" Jiang said questionably.
"For 2 months roughly. The WPP had some struggles with the OD, so they called us back." Molly explained.
"Nice to have you back, what can I do for you?" Jiang asked.
"Have you seen Zooli, one of my teammates? She said she would come here. I must reunite everyone quickly." Molly explained.
"Let me think. Yes, we asked her to come here. Her systems needed an update. Follow me." Jiang pointed forward. The 2 arrived in front of Zooli, who was connected to a scanner and several cables.
"Update in progress." The scanner said.
"It is needed to prevent an OD hacking attempt. We will also install, a small gravity module and other essential things for when she goes on a mission in space. Zooli won't require a spacesuit, as she is solid enough to resist the harsh conditions of space." Jiang explained.
"I understand. How long is that gonna take?" Molly asked.
"In 20 minutes she will be ready." Jiang said.
"Tell her that she goes to the cafeteria, that the rest is waiting for her. I have to go now, see you later!" Molly said and left.
"Alert. Missing essential parts. Scanning... Self-destruction module." The scanner said.
"Hmm, not normal. All robo-guppies have one. I'll install it later." Jiang said.
"Now, where do I find another guppy? Aha! Spaceship hangar."
Molly entered a large room containing several ships. She heard some metallic noise to her left. One spaceship was flying a bit around, touching walls at some occasions, making the noise.
"Gilly!" Molly screamed. The spaceship stopped moving and turned to her.
"Hi pretty girl! Would you like a romantic trip around the cosmos with me?" Gil said through the loudspeaker of the ship. Molly giggled a bit.
"Land that thing, silly! We gotta find the rest. Diner will be served soon." Molly said. Gil landed and regrouped with Molly.
"You saw that landing? It was sooo clean!" Gil said. Molly rolled her eyes.
The couple continued their walk around the circle, finding Oona in the med bay.
"Oona? What are you doing? Diner will be served soon, you come with us?" Molly said. Oona turned around.
"Oh, I was just eh, checking the medical materials." She said.
"More like, playing with the highly-technological robot arm." Gil said grinning. Oona blushed. Molly laughed and they exited the place. Next stop, Nonny in the gravity machine room.
"I understand this technology! Why is this so... logic? Why haven't we found it in the civilized world already? It is just logic!" Nonny mumbled to himself. The entry-door of the room he was in opened up. He turned around.
"My little nerd, it's time to eat!" Oona said, giggling kindly.
"Ah good. I'm exhausted by this. I hope we'll get fish. It is full of vitamin B and stimulates thinking." Nonny said. The rest laughed.
2 Guppies to go, and they weren't far away. "Hey guys! Heyyy!" Deema screamed from outside. She saw her friends through the glass.
"They can't hear you, it's super solid glass." Goby said. Deema flew around in a space suit and approached the glass. She knocked on it.
"Hey look! There you have Deema, and Goby!" Oona said pointing. She waved as Deema waved back.
"Deema! Time to eat!" Molly shouted while pointing at the cafeteria. Deema understood it. She took Goby and went to the nearest exit. 5 minutes later, they removed the retractable suits and reunited with the group.
"That was awesome!" Deema said.
"I wanna try it too!" Gil said.
"We'll go eat first. Zooli should be waiting on us." Molly said.
"Yes mom." Gil said ironically.
Molly's mission was completed. Everyone was on time at the cafeteria. Zooli waved at her Guppy-friends from a table she sat at.
"You took the best spot, Zooli! Nice!" Gil said, pointing at the astonishing space view.
Wished by Nonny, fish was on the menu. Everyone came back with a plate of food.
"Have a nice meal, everyone!" Molly said.
"Have a nice meal!" The rest said. At that moment, out of nowhere, everything started floating.
"I will never be able to eat..." Molly thought.
"What is this phenomenon?" Goby said. Some mashed potatoes hit his face. Gil laughed a bit.
"Gravity machine deactivated. Requiring manual reboot." The loudspeakers said.
"We need to go to the gravity machine and activate it." Nonny said.
"Easier said than done! I'm floating, and I can't control the direction I go to." Deema said levitating above Nonny.
"Use the walls to push you forward." Molly said.
"And how are we gonna reach the walls? By blowing?" Deema asked.
"Eh... Wait Zooli! Jiang installed a gravity module into you, right?" Molly asked.
"Oh true! Let me activate it." Zooli pressed on a button attached to her sleeve. The module got activated.
"Ehm, Zooli?" Molly asked.
"Yes Molly?" Zooli said.
"You're walking on the roof right now..." Molly said, looking up.
"Cool!" Gil said.
"Oh uh, let me try again." Zooli deactivated the module, turned upside down and reactivated it, falling onto the floor.
"Perfect, now go reboot the thing." Molly said.
"I don't know how to."
"Nonny can, take him with you." And so it was. Zooli took Nonny's hand and ran away as if he was a helium balloon.
"Wooow! Not too quick!" Nonny said, as he was pushing away flying boxes and other objects. Confused scientists and guards saw how the duo moved to the gravity room.
"To the right, to the left now, into that corridor aaaand, here! This door." Nonny said. The 2 entered the room. At the control panel of the machine was a person in a space suit.
"What is he doing? He probably deactivated it." Nonny whispered. The mysterious person turned around. He had a laser pistol and fired on the 2. Zooli dodged the fire and jumped behind some machines and pipes.
"Hold those pipes and stay covered. I will go and deal with that bastard." Zooli said. Nonny obeyed.
Back at the cafeteria, the rest were trying to find a way to move. Deema imitated a bird, while Molly was thinking.
"Pfff this is boring, and I can't even get to my food." Gil complained. Nobody reacted to him. Gil looked at his belt. A lamp shone in his head. His belt grappling hook. Gil pressed the right button and the hook flew around the room and hit a wall at some point. He was then pulled at full-speed to the other side of the room.
"Aoush my head!" Gil said after arriving to his destination. The rest looked at him.
"Great idea Gil! Let's use our grappling hooks to move." Molly said. Slowly but surely, the group wanted to reach Zooli and Nonny.
The mysterious person and Zooli exchanged a lot of gunfire.
"I can't see his face. It's a one-way glass." Zooli crossed the room to get another cover. More gunfire.
Nonny during this time was trying his best to move from machine to pipe to another machine until he was behind the hostile space suit.
"What do I have here to attack him with?" He thought, looking around. He found a wrench on his left. "Now to get closer... My belt hook, of course! I bet the rest didn't find that one out. Let's aim. If I miss, I am dead." Nonny pressed the button. The enemy walked 2 steps forward. Nonny flew behind him to the other side of the room.
"He didn't see me... Okay, let's aim again." This time, Nonny aimed better. The hook got on the helmet of the mysterious person. He didn't have time to look or Nonny would be 'attached' to his back. Nonny hit the gun out of the persons' hand with the wrench. Zooli appeared and pointed her charged laser hand at the space suit.
"Retract this suit or get shot!" Zooli said. The person obeyed. The space suit disappeared in the provided backpack. It was a male and pale Guppy with straight red hair. The suit he wore was in the colours of the OD.
"The OD failed, again..." Zooli said. Nonny turned around and accessed the control panel.
"Gravity machine rebooting in 5,4,3,2,1..." The loudspeakers said. Nonny fell to the ground, as the rest of the personnel.
"Oona's gonna have a lot of work. Everyone's back is gonna hurt after this." Nonny thought when he got up.
"I might have failed, but I won't stay." The Guppy said. He shot a laser out of his hand at Zooli. The Guppy ran out of the room.
"Zooli, are you okay?" Nonny asked.
"Only my chest is damaged, pursue him quickly!" Zooli said. Nonny took the pistol off the ground and left the room.
The rest of the ETS appeared in the corridor, surprising the OD Guppy. Nonny stood on the other side.
"He is an OD robot!" Nonny shouted to his teammates. Before anyone could shoot, the OD Guppy climbed up to an air vent and opened it.
"Always air vents!" Molly thought.
"We need to chase him! Zooli got damaged." Nonny explained.
"I'll go through the air vent. Deema, activate the intruder alert. Gil, go get weapons. The rest, rush to possible air vent exits." Molly ordered. She took Nonny's pistol with her.
The ETS got help from guards after the alarm was activated. Gil brought several laser guns to his teammates. Nonny took his tablet.
"My scanner detects his and Molly's movements. He's approaching the air vents of the northern part of the circle." Nonny explained. The group ran towards it.
"That vent here, let's wait for him and be quiet." Gil whispered. They heard someone coming closer. The vent opened...
"Hajaa! Gotcha! Neutralize him guys!" Gil said jumping on him.
"Gilly! Get off me!" Molly said. He had mistaken Molly for the OD Guppy.
"Molly? Where is he then?" Gil said.
"Hands up or I'll shoot with mine!" The OD Guppy said from behind.
"Your sense of humour could get an update!" Deema said.
"I didn't know Guppies were that impolite. They made some mistakes when building me I think." The OD Guppy said laughingly.
"Creating you in general was a mistake." Deema replied. The Guppy didn't reply. Deema raised an eyebrow.
"I can't escape to my faith. I will get destroyed or captured. But I must leave the biggest mark as possible." He said. The Guppy charged his hands.
A shot echoed around the circle. Zooli came just on time and shot the Guppy.
"System, error..." The metal boy said.
"Thanks for saving us Zooli! Just on time. But you need to get reparations quickly!" Molly said looking at sparkles coming out of her chest.
"I'll go when he got shipped away. He might still be dangerous..."
"Critical damage, combat impossible. Auto-destruction imminent." The robot said.
"Run quickly!" The robot exploded. Everyone dived on the ground.
"I don't think he's dangerous anymore." Zooli said.
"Gilly? Gilly! Gilly where are you?" Molly said looking around panicking.
"I'm here..." Gil said crawling out of the air vent while coughing of the smoke. Molly hugged him. Shortly after, commander Valen and several guards arrived.
"Greetings commander." The ETS said.
"So he was responsible for the problems today?" Valen asked looking at the pile of metal.
"He was an OD robo-guppy. I wonder how he got in here." Molly said.
"We'll find that out. We had infiltrations in the past. I'm sorry that this happened on the first day of your arrival. Fortunately, you were victorious again. We will clean up this mess, you guys should go take diner." Valen said.
"Finally!" Molly said. Everyone laughed.
"Thanks Valen, see ya around!" Nonny said. Valen had a genuine smile and waved at Nonny.
"Wo, we, what? How doesn't he...?" Gil was confused.
"He told me he doesn't like the formal bullshit." Nonny said. The rest laughed.
"I asked him to repair the faults he made with the commander. Now the became best friends or what?" Molly thought.
The group got new plates of food, this time it wasn't fish anymore. All the fish had fallen on the ground during the accident. After finishing their vegetarian meal, our 7 protagonists went back to their quarters.
"I could take a nap right now. What a harsh day already!" Gil said stretching his arms.
"This week will be harsh too. Our dear sergeant Flynn will train us like the good old days." Goby said tapping on Gils back.
"He'll probably wake us very early in the morning." Deema said. The door of the quarters opened.
"Good evening everyone! Ready for your training? The earlier we start, the earlier we finish!" Flynn said. Deema looked annoyed.
"I'm sure spaghetti hair is super duper excited in this right? 20 PUSH-UPS RIGHT NOW GO GO GO!" Flynn screamed.
"We just had diner, can't we wait a bit?" Deema asked.
"Pfouh! Diner! Just some carrots and brocolli! That's not a heavy meal! NOW THE PUSH-UPS!" Flynn said. Everyone looked at how a thundercloud appeared above Deema's head.
"THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO MY ORDERS! PUSH-UPS FOR EVERYONE NOW!" Flynn screamed. "When you're done, we'll go to the training room."
