7Seven Secret Space Guppies

Hello you, reader, and welcome back to already the 4th chapter of my story. Time do be flying. Anyway, enjoy!

Chapter 4: Confusing situations

"Alright, that's just the start of your training, hahaha! It's gonna be harsh!" Flynn said. Everyone got up from the ground.

"One week of this, pfff." Deema said complaining. Flynn approached her, and started laughing.

"Haha! Don't worry too much. I tend to scare people sometimes. Your physical conditions are still good, so we won't repeat a highly intensive training. Sometimes just disciplinary push-ups. We will mostly focus on how to fight and behave in space. The technical stuff. I'll explain all of that later, let's go now or else we'll get late. And you know what that means..." Flynn said. Deema nodded.

The group didn't go to a classic training room. Their training room would be outside! Sergeant Flynn first brought the ETS to a storage room.

"We provided the most high-tech space suits for you all." Flynn said taking one out of a wall-locker.

"That's just a sort of backpack." Gil commented.

"The suits are retractable, so we can store them better." Flynn said, giving one to all the Guppies. Commander Valen passed by the room and entered it.

"Ah sergeant Flynn. Starting the training already?" Valen asked. Flynn nodded.

"Woah, this suit is beautiful!" Gil said. It was white and some parts WPP coloured. The helmet had dark grey glass.

"How will we be able to move effectively in such a suit?" Nonny asked. Gil wanted to find out. He ran like normal.

"This suit is super flexible and light and..." Gil didn't look where he was running at and hit a shelf.

"And extremely solid. The finest WPP technology." Valen explained.

"But can't the OD weapons shoot through the armour and kill us?" Nonny asked.

"As on Earth, you must be careful. The suits can survive several hits, but they aren't made to take shots. Luckily we equipped the suits with an energy shield who protects the suit, but not the host. You might still feel pain when an enemy shoots on you. An important detail that I absolutely need to mention too is that the shield only has limited energy and if an enemy shoots on it with energy weapons, then your shield will get drained quicker. So despite the protection, stay careful."

"I require knowing. In space, there aren't any sounds. So how can we hear if the enemy is close or shooting on us?" Nonny asked.

"Glad you are so interested and asking so much questions. The suits are also equipped with a sound receptor module. It analyses the area you're in and searches for vibrations of the enemy and automatically converts them into sound." Valen added.

"And what about the oxygen reserves?"

"Is he almost done with his questions?" Gil said standing up with the help of Molly. She giggled a little.

"Highly compressed oxygen reserves are protected in the retractable suit's backpack. You have enough oxygen for 10-12 hours."

"How can we move in space itself? Or on the Moon?"

"Please!" Gil thought.

"In the space suit are a couple of activatable propulsors to go in any direction you want. It's also equipped with small gravity modules. The gravity of Earth will be simulated on any planet or moon."

"... I'm impressed. I don't have any other questions." Nonny said. Valen smiled.

"Well, I will let you guys finish your training. After it, there will be a briefing for your first mission." Valen said. Everyone greeted him and he left.

"Now I don't have to explain all that shit." Flynn mumbled to himself.

Our group all put on a suit, except for Zooli. She didn't need one. Flynn took one too and lead the group to an airlock.

"We will go into space now, kiddos. Watch out and don't fly away. First task, master the propulsors." Flynn said.

"Depressurizing the airlock... done. Door opening, watch out. Extreme conditions." The loudspeaker said.

The group left the space station. All were left to the mercy of the empty space.

"Gilly! Come back!" Molly said through her radio.

"I can't!" He said.

"Use your thrusters, corporal!" Flynn said. Gil activated the one on his right arm.

"AAAAAAH! STOP!" Gil shouted while spinning around. Everyone's radio started peeping. Flynn sighed and went to Gil to bring him back to the rest.

"Be happy you can't do push-ups in space." Flynn said. After a lot of bumping into each other and flying away, the Guppies started to understand how to move normally. Flynn lead them to another part of the training. To a place in space with a lot of metallic debris.

"This will be the next part of your training. Parkour! In space! We simulated a spaceship or satellite getting blown up during a mission, and now you must go through this ocean of debris." Flynn explained.

"Fortunately, those suits won't get damaged if we touch a debris." Gil whispered to Molly. Molly giggled.

"Sadly, You can't feel my tickles either." Molly said playfully.

"Oh no, please not today. I'll be tired after this training."

"No problem Gilly. You'll get a bit of détente later in..."

"Hu-humm!" Flynn said through the radio.

"You forget to deconnect from the main communication link..." Deema whispered through the radio. Gil and Molly blushed. The rest laughed a bit. Flynn approached the couple. Gil blushed even more that the inside of his helmet steamed up. His face vanished.

"Teens... Haha! Hahahaha! That was pretty stupid, actually! Everyone were like you. Even I! Let's get back to the training, shall we?" Flynn said and turned around. Gil's face reappeared. He looked at Molly. She lifted her shoulders.

The Guppies hit some metallic plates and other debris, but made it decently quick through the obstacles.

"I'm impressed... Well, let's go back now. The training is over." Flynn said.

"But you said it would be harsh?" Deema said. Flynn grinned a bit.

"Yes, but it was just to scare you off hahahaha! And normally it is hard to manoeuvre with those suits, but you guys are elite. You are good!" Everyone flew around with their mouths opened. Later, they got back inside the Hannibal. The Guppies stored the suits up again.

"What bullshit! Scaring us off for maximum 2 hours of training!" Deema said angrily.

"Well, aren't you happy it's over already? Now you can go to sleep. Our first briefing is tomorrow." Molly said. Deema didn't respond.

"Aaah finally I can close my eyes and sleep..." Gil said, laying down on his bed.

"Alarm! Enemy spaceship detected! Anti-air guns deactivated! Requesting space pilots to engage in fighting!" The loudspeakers said.

"What now again? Will I never be able to sleep?" Deema said.

"The anti-air is down? It's probably that robo-guppy, but we didn't notice." Nonny proposed.

"I'm sure it often happens, those attacks. They're probably fine without our help." Gil said, turning on his other side.

"WHERE'S SONIC?" Flynn said, entering the room.

"Oh no." Gil thought. He got up.

"As deputy leader, you are the pilot of your team. This is the perfect occasion to introduce you to spaceship piloting!" He added.

"But isn't it dangerous? I haven't piloted yet, and you expect me to fight the OD?" Gil said.

"It's easy to pilot, you'll see. The risks of the job. The rest, go and try to reactivate the anti-air guns. Go to the briefing room! NOW!" Everyone obeyed. Flynn and Gil left and ran to the hangar. The rest went in the opposite direction.

"I'm sure Gil will be fine with Sergeant Flynn." Zooli commented.

"Or not..." Goby added.

"Can you believe that? Gilly never flew, and now he must take out OD space fighters. This is a fire-baptism!" Molly said being a bit worried.

Gil followed Flynn to the nearest hangar. There was one space fighter remaining. It had the WPP colours, blue and light grey.

"We gotta help out the other pilots, the OD send a large squadron of their Mosquitos-1 to distract us." Flynn said.

"Mosquitos?" Gil asked, being confused.

"That's what we call their light space-crafts. Now get in this fighter. A Module-1804. Strong and fast. Go on the front seat." Flynn said while climbing into the backseat. Gil obeyed. The cockpit closed itself. The hangar gates opened up.

"Press on the red button on your left, then pull the lever to your right to take-off. Use the big lever in the middle to move and change speed! GO!" Gil executed the steps and took-off. The fighter was wiggling a bit. Gil finally left the HQ and was in space.

"I'm your co-pilot. I'll tell you where the enemies are. If you want to shoot with the laser-chainguns, it's the green button on the left side of the big lever. For the laserbeam, it's the blue button on the right side. Understood?" Flynn asked through the radio.

"Yes sir!" Gil said.

"Now let's find those OD mosquitos!" Flynn ordered.

At that same moment, Molly and her friends arrived at the briefing room, where they saw Commander Valen and Admiral Laurent.

"ETS! Glad you are here. The OD is attacking us, but the anti-air defence is offline." Valen explained.

"Tell us how to reactivate it." Molly said.

"Our technical systems aren't working properly. You must manually reactivate every anti-air turret." Laurent said.

"You guys just finished your space training, so it should be doable." Valen added.

"Okay. Nonny, you stay here. Project a map of the anti-air installations and guide us to them. The rest, follow me." Nonny stayed while the rest followed Molly to the closest wall-locker with space suits. Then to the closest exit.

"It's very calm, I don't hear anything." Gil said.

"This beauty is equipped with a sound receptor module too, yellow button to your right." Flynn responded. The module got activated and some far-away shots could be heard.

"Oh oh! We got company! Mosquito at six o'clock high!" Flynn shouted.

"What does that mean?" Gil said while accelerating.

"Six o'clock means behind us in aviation language! High is to say the target is above the horiz..." The space fighter got shot. Flynn bumped his head and fell unconscious.

"Left wing hit, but still operational. Go back for repair. Yeah, I wish!" Gil said reading the indications on the monitor in front of him. The OD fighter approached and started shooting. Gil dodged it by doing a barrel role.

"Ahh shit I'm dizzy! Sergeant? Sergeant, do you copy? Great, no co-pilot. Let's watch our backs myself." Gil activated the radar on his monitor. A red dot was flying towards him.

"That's gotta be... 4 o'clock. Let's try to trick him..." Gil slowed down and let the dot come to him. When he heard shots, he accelerated, flew straight up and did a loop. Now he was gonna chase the OD fighter.

"He's trying to get behind me, no you won't!" The OD fighter tried to fly away, but Gil was too fast.

"Target at 12 o'clock. Fire!" Gil shot a salvo of laser-chaingun bullets, destroying the OD fighter.

"Woohoow! I did it!" Gil said in triumph.

"Oush God! Am I in heaven?" Flynn said through the radio.

"Sergeant! Welcome back. I defeated the Mosquito!"

"Oh I hope you liked it cause there are plenty more to crush!"

"You saw that explosion too, guys?" Oona asked via the radio.

"I only hear a far-away explosion." Deema said.

"It was a spaceship that got destroyed, I hope it wasn't Gilly." Molly said. The group was on top of the Circle part of the Hannibal.

"Watch out for enemy strikes, but I think they are busier with fighting our pilots." Nonny said.

"Okay Nonny. How do we activate those anti-air guns?" Molly asked.

"There is a total of six all around the Circle. One is in front of you. There should be a little panel saying 'reboot required'. Click on the green button underneath it." Nonny explained. Molly searched around the AA gun and finally found it.

"Reboot successful. Let's split up and go to different AA installations." Molly ordered. The 5 all went to a different position.

Back at Gil and Flynn.

"Ahhh! That Mosquito is getting closer! 9 o'clock!" Flynn screamed.

"Enemy at 12 o'clock! This is getting complicated!" Gil said. Flynn looked out of the window.

"Get to the Circle! Your teammates are reactivating the AA!" Gil understood and maneuvered his way to hit while zigzagging to dodge shots.

"They are getting closer Gil! Hurry!" Flynn said. Gil was accelerating. The fighter got hit.

"Done! Rebooted the northern AA! Oh oh, guys? There's a spaceship going straight to me!" Deema said.

"Go straight up when I tell you!" Flynn said. The fighter endured some more hits.

"Take cover Deema! We are coming asap!" Goby said through the radio.

"NOW!" Gil pulled the big lever and the spacecraft went straight up. The AA turret turned up and started shooting at the 2 OD spacecraft.

"2 less!" Gil said.

"Deema, are you alright?" Molly asked.

"Yes, the AA saved me. Continue the mission." Deema said.

"Alright then, how's the situation for the rest?" Molly asked.

"Finished my part." Oona said.

"Waiting for the next orders." Goby added.

"On my way. I've almost reached my objective." Zooli said.

"Alright, everyone can go back inside, it's dangerous here. Zooli, finish the mission, quickly!" Molly ordered.

"Yes sir!" Zooli responded with.

Zooli continued moving. She arrived at her AA turret objective, but an OD fighter spotted her. It started shooting. One energy blast hit the control panel, making it useless.

"I need help! An OD fighter shot the control panel. I can't access it anymore, oush!"

"Corporal, look! 2 o'clock! Your teammate is in trouble. Let's help her!" Flynn ordered. Zooli was trying her best to dodge the projectiles, climbing on and off the AA gun.

"I won't keep up with this!" Zooli shouted.

"We are coming, Zooli!" Molly shouted back.

"I'm afraid it's gonna be too late!"

Gil approached from a greater height and was pointing down to the OD fighter.

"Let's charge the laserbeam... Go! Oh, 25% charged only. Waiting."

Zooli was running around what remained of the AA installation. Her batteries were almost empty.

"50% charged!" Gil said

"Atleast I won't feel my death." Zooli commented to herself.

"75%!"

"We're on our way Zooli, keep dodging!" Molly said back.

"This is the end!" Zooli shouted back.

"100%! FIRE!" A giant energy blast illuminated the whole area. Everyone noticed it.

"What was that? You saw this too guys?" Nonny asked. Zooli was blinded for a moment. When her vision got restored, she saw a spaceship approaching her. She recognized the pilot.

"Gil! You saved me! My hero." She said. Nobody responded, but they all heard it. Molly wasn't too pleased.

"The remaining Mosquitos left. We defeated the majority of them. Go back to the hangar." Flynn ordered. Gil looked at Zooli smiling, and pointed above him. Zooli jumped on the ship.

"Hang on tight!" Gil said through the cockpit. He flew in direction of the hanger with Zooli on top.

The 3 landed. Their teammates, Valen and other employees were waiting for them. When Gil and Flynn appeared, everyone applauded.

"You successfully defended the HQ and proved to be a worthy pilot." Valen started with.

"I couldn't have done it without Sergeant Flynn." Gil said back.

"Your fire-baptism went well haha!"

"I suppose I will have another co-pilot..."

"Exactly. Sergeant Flynn is needed elsewhere. Your new co-pilot will be, Zooli." Zooli just regrouped after climbing off the space fighter.

"Me?" Zooli asked. Valen nodded. Everyone smiled to her, except Molly wo looked up.

"I'll... try my best, Commander." She said.

"With that comes your own special gift. Your own spacecraft. This one is yours now."

"Really?" Gil asked with sparkling eyes. Valen nodded.

"You should give it a name. There's a tradition in the WPP that we give the names of famous generals to our ships." Flynn explained. Gil was thinking.

"Hmm, hard choice. I'm not that great in history. Zooli, you probably know everything. What was the best general ever?" Gil asked.

"Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte."

"I name it that! ENB for short. Perfect."

"Didn't Captain Hubert call his ship like that?" Flynn whispered.

"Then go tell him to change it!" Valen ordered. Flynn left.

"It's been a busy day. You guys should go rest. Tomorrow is your first REAL briefing. Today was a bit... unexpected. We will meet later." Valen left. The rest followed.

The ETS got back to their quarters.

"Whatever happens now, I will go and sleep!" Deema said. The rest laughed. Gil jumped on his bed. Zooli slept under him. Molly to his right.

"We will form the best team ever Zooli! I hope they will need our special abilities tomorrow." Gil said. Molly rolled her eyes.

"That's for sure!" Zooli added.

"Okay, can we sleep now? It's gonna be a harsh day tomorrow. Sleep well!" Molly said and she killed the lights.

That was it for the 4th chapter of 7SSG. I hope you enjoyed it.
