Only ONE member of the Hitman Squad was left. Makoto Naegi. However, he had already disappeared, after learning of Kyoko and Hina's failure. The Boss learns of Naegi's departure, as it's obvious he's heading to Venice. What's more, the others are on their way to Venice, thus ending the final mission.

Kana said, "Hijiri, how far are we?"

"We're almost to the Rialto Bridge." Hijiri called from outside, "We're almost there."

Emily scolded and June & Nanao, "YOU IDIOTS! If you would've said something, earlier, you would've said so!"

Beth huffed, "I, uh, told Emily about what happened to Pets."

June moaned, with a lump on her head, "My apologies, Em. But Pets was severely wounded."

Nanao replied, with a lump of her own, "Master, forgive me. My healing device is a success, though June's powers were an assistance to some parts that were ruptured."

Emily roared, "I DON'T CARE! And here I thought you two were having a-."

Kana roared, "ENOUGH, MAYNARD!" She called, "You can scold at these two, later! We have important things to do!"

Pets was sitting, as she said, "It's alright. But still, they should've been more gentler to me."

Nanao said, "No one says it was harmless, Tomomi Hetada."

Emily blushed heavily, as she huffed, "Why did I just see that?"

Kana said, "Ignore what you saw, even if you won't share it. We have bigger issues. We have the disc, so now, we learn where to drop off Okuma."

She put the disc in and said, "Okuma, step forward."

He went to her, as the laptop began to download text. She added, "I'm reconfirming the mission to the boss, right now."

Text was displayed, as it said: "Are you okay? Thank you for protecting the boy, day in and day out."

Kana read aloud, "After the usual greeting, the input was already written onto this disc, the moment the others arrived in Napoli. It goes on, saying: Therefore, I have no means of knowing how many more pursuers are after you, at this moment, nor how many team members you've possibly lost, until now. The information on this disc is to aide you on bringing the boy to me, and to complete your final mission. A strict warning: You must follow my instructions to the letter, since it is imperative. This condition is non-negotiable. If you ever deviate away from this from the instructions from this disc, even in the slightest, it is unforgivable. So, if anything you do is NOT what you were instructed to you, e regardless whether the act is accidental, then I will consider it as an overt act of betrayal. Here is your final mission."

A map is shown, as Kana continued, "The place you are dropping him of is at the island of San Giorgione Maggiore. Once there, you are to drop him off at the top of the bell tower of the church, there. Upon drop-off of the boy, your mission is over. Here's a simplified set of steps for you to understand how it works:
One: There are no stairs in the church, but there is an elevator to the peak of the bell tower. It is only there, at that same bell tower. Okuma will be accompanied by a bodyguard of your choice, aboard the elevator.
Two: Said bodyguard will enter the church, without any weapons or cellphones, or any other objects in them.
Three: You must arrive within fifteen minutes of when you retrieved the disc. It has a tracking device, so I already know of your destination.
Four: Once you have chosen the bodyguard to accompany the boy, the rest of your team is prohibited from leaving the boat, or entering the church.
That is all."

The boat arrived, as Nanao left the boat to tied boat to the dock. She stepped back in, as June called, "Koumoto, we arrived. Time to do this."

Kana said, "Good. However, choosing a bodyguard for Okuma will be difficult, since there are eight of us."

Okuma said, "I nominate Emily."

Kana replied, "No. I'll decide who gets to accompany you."

He griped, "Come on! I hardly know you, already!"

She hissed, "You don't know me, at all."

Episode 9 – Chapter 1: The Final Mission!
Enter the War Goddess!

Beth said, "San Giorgione Maggiore. This is where we part ways with Okuma, huh?"

Hijiri said, "Well, you can't be a mafia boss, otherwise. Those were highly detailed instructions."

Mossan said, "Indeed. Once he's gone, our mission ends. I don't know about you, but we are really beat, after this adventure. Even though we met him on a short time, all's well that ends well."

Pets smiled, "We made it out alive, but just barely."

Nanao said, "I know what you mean. Do not worry, I am sure once nothing bad happens, we should celebrate."

Beth smiled, "I'm up for some pasta, down in Venice!"

Emily barked, "HAVE YOU LOST IT? In case you bloody idiots haven't realized, we still have a mission to finish! Kana, let me accompany Tanukichi. I owe him a lot, since we were in America. Least I can do."

Kana nodded, but she said, "That is not the decision I want. It's my decision alone. Besides, you have been a target for the famiglia, before you joined me. But I am grateful that you are stepping up for the boy. But you're a liability to the team."

Emily agreed, "Kashima-san, maintain radar towards the tower."

Nanao said, "Understood."

June said, "Koumoto, let me volunteer to aide Okuma. I know you will say NO, but I've known Okuma for a while now."

Mossan cried, "Wait! I object! Kana's the capo here! If anything, she should go."

Emily asked, "Eh? Wait, you mean she gets to go with him?"

Beth sneered, "Fatass is bullying Sis, again."

Mossan said, "Stow it, little culo! And you! This is Kana's decision. I don't accept you to be assisting the boy, but don't forget, the boss didn't specify anyone, since she's not sure if they're alive or not."

June said, "Well, I kinda figured someone would object. Besides, if anybody, then Koumoto is perfect for the job, since she knows about the boss, more than anyone else."

Emily griped, "Then you should've gave her the job, dumbass!"

Mossan barked, "Arrogant prick! If you knew Kana would be the one to take him, you should've said so! You're really pissing me off!"

Emily, Nanao, & Beth quietly remarked, "What an asshole." Referring to Mossan.

June looked at Kana, as Kana replied, "Thank you. But… I believe that I will be the one to escort Okuma. You all trust me to go, then so be it. I'll be the one to take Okuma to their designation. Okuma, we go. Two is requested, and two it shall be."

They stepped off the boat, as Kana looked at June. She thought, "I know. I want to know who the boss is, myself. This is our last chance. I want to know the truth. I won't let it slip away." She called to June, "Oh, before I go, June, given that this is our last mission together, hand me one of those pendants."

June held up a ladybug pendant and said, "This?"

Kana replied, "Ladybugs are sun bugs. So, it'll bring me good luck. They're a symbol of life."

June nodded, "But I'm not giving it to you. Yet." She then gave it to her, as it pulsates in Kana's hand.

"So, she imbued Devil Princess's power as a tracking device." Kana thought, "It's worth it, but it's thoughtful."

Hijiri called, "Kana! There's something I wanted to say to you. I knew someday you'd become capo, so, I know you'll succeed in this mission to the very end."

Beth smirked, "Oh, I'm sure she will."

They all smiled, as Hijiri called, "Here's to hoping we rise to the top in the famiglia!"

Kana smiled, "Grazie mille. Okuma, it's time."

"Oh, uh, okay."

They walked together, as Kana thought about the pendant, "If I can just affix this to the boss's body, June will be able to track her down her every movement. We need to know who she is, no matter what. We have to."

They went inside the church, as they were ready to drop Okuma off to the boss.

They walked inside, as they were heading towards the bell tower, for the final drop-off point. After a long silent walk to the halls, they arrived at the elevator. Kana examined it, "She left the elevator door open. And I see that there's only two buttons on it – to the roof and to the first floor. Straight shot – and nowhere to stop."

He asked, as he was trembling, "Hey, Kana. What's going to happen to me? What is this boss like, and what does she have for me? I was kidnapped by two gangsters, had my life threatened, lost the love of my life, and now, I'm going to meet your boss that I don't even know who or what she is. Before I met June & Emily, my life was suffering, after Ayame died. Where do I go from here?"

Kana replied, "The Boss is more concerned about your safety. June & Maynard did protect you well. And I understand why you're into despair. You're unhappy, because you have nothing left to live for. Though, if you make it out alive, all you can do is change your name, identity, and location. She's not like Kajou, but the boss has ways. Let me help you. I assure you, Tanukichi. Ayame Kajou would say for you to move on, if she were here." She extended her hand and said, "Here. Take my hand."

He stood up and walked in, "It's-. It's not that I am nervous or anything. Why the hell do you say I want to change?"

Kana replied, "I'm just saying, since you're in a lot of sadness."

The elevator went up, as they were heading towards the rooftop. Kana whispered, as she was waiting for the long ride up, "I hope nothing else happens."

Okuma held Kana's hand and whispered, "I wonder… … … will this boss like me?"

Kana replied, "You shouldn't be worried."

"You're right. I am a complete worrywart, a lot. Though, I am scared. But I can face it, with you by my side."

"Of course." she smiled, as the elevator arrived, "We arrived. Let's go, Okuma."

The doors opened, as Kana held Okuma's hand. But as she turned around, he was gone. She cried, "OKUMA! Where are-?"

She gasped, as she held his hand. It was just his left hand, leaking blood. Someone had taken him, and hacked off a part of his arm. She shrieked, "Wha-? WHAT THE FUCK?"

She threw the hand down and shivered, "Okuma and I were-. But how did-?" She looked up at the elevator, and saw a huge hole in the roof. She thought, "Wait, this wasn't here. Okuma and I were the only ones here. And the rest of my team has been ordered to stay behind! And I know it's not one of La Squadra… … … which means… … … WHICH MEANS… … … It can't be!"

She figured it out. Kana Koumoto knew of why she is to protect Tanukichi Okuma.

"Now I get it! The Boss, she wanted us to protect Tanukichi Okuma… … … so she can have him hostage and kill him, herself?! Is this all to protect her identity? This mission? All the agony we've been through? What the hell was all this for? She brought the boy here, just to kill him with her own hands?"

A portal opened in her head, as she remembered her past, remembering how she joined Alternativa, and then said that drugs and coke are the evil things of all, and that her mafia is a symbol of justice. Kana Koumoto was lied to.

"So, that's it!" She was infuriated, as she hollered, "The Boss! Our damned Boss! She is not a symbol of hope that I pictured! Her wretchedness is so evil that it makes me want to puke! Selling drugs to kids, when I thought they were outlawed, exploiting innocent people who don't know anything, and to use others merely for one's own profit, and now… murdering an innocent young man, after going through so much despair! And for what? TO COVER YOUR OWN ASS?"

She cried out, "COWARD! YOU'D USE THE BOY FOR YOUR OWN POWER? THIS IN UNFORGIVABLE! YOU'RE A MONSTER! THAT ASSHOLE HAS BETRAYED MY HEART, ONCE AGAIN! YOU'RE A DISGRACE! NEVER AGAIN! YOU'VE USED ME, FOR THE LAST TIME!"

Kana snapped, and unleashed Alt-RC, opening a portal on the floor of the elevator. She looked down and spotted a female figure carrying an unconscious Okuma away, walking down the rafters, defying gravity. She snarled, "There she is, the stronzo!" She pulled out June's pendant, and dropped it onto the boss's back. It stuck onto her, and said, "Good. Now I'll know where she is. And Okuma's still alive." The Boss departed, as she complained, "I couldn't get a glimpse of her face. Well, screw that! I don't care if I get to see your face. Cazzo! My only personal goal was to see your face and learn of who you really are. But the plan's been changed: DIE! I will not only find you, learn of your true identity, and end your life, for good!"

She hopped down and said, "Think fast! She doesn't expect me to betray her, right now. So, this is an assassination! I'll ambush her, as she tries to escape, and kill the bitch!"

She headed to ground floor, and escaped through the portal, arriving at a small dresser. She opened it and saw a huge hole.

"So, this must be her escape route. After she kills Okuma, she'll make her way down these stairs, to the other side of the building. This stairway leads to a Charnel Building, or a crypt, found in any basement area of the church. This is where the boss will kill him, in anonymity."

She headed to the underground area, and then whispered, "But I'm lying in wait. The demented bastard will get hers."

She hid behind a pillar and waited, as she watched on, waiting for the boss to arrive. After a couple seconds, The Boss, a female shadowy figure, appeared with Okuma in her arms. She arrived off the stairs, as Kana prepared. "NOW!"

"You should leave, while you're still able, Kana Koumoto." The Boss said, as Kana gasped. "If you step out of that pillar, you'll be sorry."

Kana gulped, and then roared, "GO! ALT-RC!" She attacked The Boss, but was blocked by a female figure in blue armor, with crimson trim. It turned the arm of Alt-RC, but the Stand broke it off, removing her limb, to avoid any injuries. Kana leapt off, as The Boss was on her trail. She headed to Okuma, and then said, "So, she knew I was heading there. I am guessing she's not that powerful. Somehow, she hid in the shadows, again. I need to find her weakness, whatever it is."

She reattached Okuma's arm, as The Boss hissed, "What is the meaning of this?"

Kana turned, as The Boss called, "I gave you the utmost importance of this mission. Just what were you thinking? I had such respect for your excellence and devotion of the mission you chose, until now. Were you happy to be a capo, to be greedy? Or were you seduced by your hubris, using your abilities, to think that you'd overtake me?"

Kana roared, "When he wakes up, I want the truth! Just who are you, and what do you even want with him? Even so, I will make sure to tell him that you never existed."

"Him? What about him? He is of no concern to you or your ilk."

"You'll see. You don't understand true friendship, demon!" She removed her face off, revealing a cellphone inside. She hid it inside her, via a portal, in case anything happens. She called, "June! This is Koumoto."

June responded, "I am aware. She's right there. You put the pendant inside her, so you can pinpoint her location. Right now, she's at the Charnel Building, at the bottom of the church. She's in-between the two pillars to the stairs."

Kana attacked, but June replied, "NO, WAIT! KOUMOTO! Something wrong! Until we know what it is, DON'T ATTACK!"

Kana roared, punching the pillars, breaking apart, revealing The Boss. But in her shock, she was punching herself.

"What-? The shadow that I attacked… … … was me?!"

Kana attacked herself, only she was attacking a double of her. Complicated, but bizarre. Was this the boss's own doing?

Kana gasped, as she was standing where she was attacked, and a figure appeared from behind her. It was the same woman in armor, with a crimson helmet and a small red face on its forehead.

"As a token of my apologies, I'd like to give you a parting gift… a gift from the heart." It spoke like The Boss, "Since this is the end, I'll elaborate. What you just witnessed and felt was a version of you in the future. A few seconds ago, your past self, the one you from before, attacked you, the future you, just seconds ago. Of course, we're now in present tense now. Witness, my dear Koumoto, the almighty power of my Crimson War Goddess. I erased time, and leapt beyond it!"

Kana gasped, "The Boss… … … is a Stand User?"

POW!
She was socked in the back, as War Goddess roared, "It doesn't matter who it is, I shall not allow any cretin to threaten my eternal transcendence! I will not let anyone take my throne! NOT EVER! And now, it's time for you to fade away!"

Her arm stuck out, impaling through her stomach. Kana screamed in pain, as War Goddess bellowed, as The Boss was behind her, "Koumoto, your time as Tanukichi Okuma's bodyguard… has come to a tragic end. Your mission is now terminated. And soon, the fires of hell will embrace you!"
