Bell Cranel

"Simply walking around wasn't an activity any of you wanted me to do, was it? You blasted harpies!"

Darting, swerving, I did all I could to get away from the demon fairies. These things were hot on my trail, catching me at every corner with their superior speed.

Eventually, my options for alleys ran out as I hit a dead end. There was now only one way out, and I don't think I can scale a cement wall faster than they can fly.

"Fufufu. An interesting specimen, don't you think, sister?"

"Mmn, yes indeed. Half-demon, half-human. I wonder… how much power we can attain if we eat his body." Both of the small winged ladies sadistically grinned, waving their hands in the air.

Duck!

A voice suddenly shouted in my head as I followed along. In my stead, a spike of ice appeared where my throat was previously. Too close!

"Pin him down." The demon repeated calmly as the copy followed, crashing into my body like a rocket.

Hitting me with a thud, I was launched into the wall behind me, unable to dodge in time due to the lack of space. A wad of saliva jumped out of my mouth upon impact, my body desperately trying to pull off the hell spawn who clutched onto my crotch. Repeated elbow strikes to the head did absolutely nothing for me.

Then, in my "final" moments, a light emanated from my body, in particular, my pocket.

Bringing down my final hit, I brought all my remaining power into the final attack. There was no way I was going to lose to these low-level scum. "And there's no damn way in hell I'll let you inherit my power."

*CRACK*

A gut-wrenching crunch echoed in the dank alleyway, making perfectly clear of what I just accomplished in my supposed near-death.

"No, no, no, no!" The flying circus animal growled. "I won't! I won't! I won't let you escape you bastard! Bufula!"

Jump!

Peeling the corpse off from my body, I pushed my legs up with all my might. But it was still not enough. The ice instantly punctured my foot without any resistance, blood staining the spike I impaled myself on.

Moving my knee up, I painfully removed the appendage from it, as pain cursed me from using it.

Forward!

My instincts screamed, the hairs on my back tingling the depths of my spine. Running towards the direction that was required of me, I cocked my left arm for a heavy punch. Nearing the demon, I grabbed it by the leg, and pulled it down. Shouts of protest closely following.

Duck!

"Don't have to tell me twice!" Throwing the evil fairy onto the dirty wet alley floor, I mounted the creature before delivering the greatest beatdown I ever had in my life.

Left!

Right!

Upper cut!

Each of these used in random, doing the same job of pummeling the monster who caused all of this.

*Splat*

The splashing of blood, did not deter me, as I continued my ruthless attack until nothing remained. By the end of it, my fist, school uniform, the floor, and parts of my face, were all coated in a fine shade of crimson. The deed was done.

Staring into my fists, my fingertips especially, I contemplated everything. Was I really a hero? Or just another one of these mindless beasts that know nothing more than destruction.

A voice from the void that was my mind, reverberated shockwaves in my headspace. 'Well, no. You regret what you did and you move on from that experience. There's nothing you could've done except fight, even if your methods were a bit overkill.'

"Oh yeah? You really think so? In all reality, you're nothing more than a figment of my imagination built to support my actions, why should I follow anything you say?" I retorted into the nothingness.

'Right on the dot. I mean, you could simply ignore my presence and go along with your day, moping, distracted, and potentially dead.' The voice pointed out, as a towering figure casted a shadow over me. 'Or, you can use the power I have gifted you and carve your name as the True King of Bel.'

This is who I am now. The shadow of a greater man who accomplished far more than I could in several lifetimes. And beyond that, I am expected to not only represent him, but also surpass the man who I embodied. A herculean task that will require the greatest of wills. But, something that I'm ready to face head on.

But was I ready? Today's kill was only a demon, who, wanted nothing more than to slaughter me like swine. But it was just that, a demon. Will I ever be ready to kill another human? To snuff the light out of a person who may have had a family, a wife and perhaps several kids? A moral dilemma with only immoral or tragic consequences awaiting me.

A problem for another day, I suppose. Though, I'll have to decide in the coming days, it will only be a matter of time before I fight another person.

Taking the COMP out of my pocket, I wiped off some of the viscera that landed on the top before opening it fully. Based on this, I had about a half to a whole day of charge left in the system, not much by any standard, so a charger will have to be on the list of things to collect. Next are allies. There was no way I was going to push through this apocalypse alone with no one by my side.

But I will need trustworthy people, easily molded to fit whatever agenda I need them to. Someone who can bend to my will. Wonder where I'll find someone like that?

Fire Bolt- Inflict light fire damage on one enemy. Becomes a severe Almighty attack when "Argonaut" is active. (scales with the amount of despair Bell is currently feeling)

Liaris Freese- Increases growth speed for as long as Bell's feelings last.

Argonaut- Against those who compete for the title "King of Bel" the skill will activate once per battle. Can be used to either enhance all "physical" type attacks to apply double damage, and the "pierce" effect, or to strengthen "Fire Bolt".

[A/N: I did a thing, I die now. Any mistake on my part, I'll fix tomorrow, sorry about that in advance. I have a few people in mind for the other leaders, some playable some not. I'll be following a mix between the games and the manga, which ever suits my needs at the moment. Until next time, I'm going to pass out.

Oh right, the demons that jumped the mc are Moh Shuvuu.]
