In a cold empty room, a figure sat staring at various laptop monitors, keeping track of the data passing through each of them without fail.

Even as the temperature of the room decreased, more and more sweat pooled on the man's forehead, dripping when it became too much.

Typing away at his keyboard, his eyes shifted between all the screens, trying to make sense of it all.

This was the tech genius, Naoya. And right now, he was wasting away another second of his life trying to understand this new variable that mashed its way into his grand program.

And yet, after hours of hard work, nothing was to come out of it. Only frustration and confusion. This was never supposed to happen. Who or what was behind this mess? Another series of questions puzzled the lad as he continued typing away at the screens.

"Naaaaoooyaaa! How's it been buddy ol' pal~." The visitor's cheery introduction was followed by silence as the man didn't bother to reply.

"Come on, what's got you so worked up at the moment? Cat got your tongue?" No matter how much he spoke, nothing came out of the boy, who continued to ignore him.

"You're no fun. Besides, shouldn't your master plan already be in effect by now? I swear, those COMPs cost more than an arm and a leg tell you what. Seriously, what's with you humans and overpricing things?"

Relenting, the white-haired man turned to look at his guest before answering. "It should have but it appears that a new player has entered our little game." Standing up, he grabbed a towel off the bed and wiped his sweat, still perplexed on how to proceed.

"And so what? A small missing demon isn't much to worry about, just rel-"

"Doesn't look like I can today, Loki." Grabbing one of the spare laptops off the ground his showed it to his friend and pointed at a line of code. "You see this right here? It appears as though another Bel is running amuck. Someone we did not account for. And no, it isn't Baal, nor is it Belphegor, but someone with great potential."

"A transcended human? I know those are rare, but how in the nine hells did we manage to attract one of those?" Loki shot back, slightly frightful hearing the mention of those monsters.

"No. Something more akin to those Nahobino. A being whose ceiling for growth is infinite. A great detriment to my plans." Saying those words, the look on the trickster god's face sagged.

"That's bad. Hey, that's bad, right?"

"This is no laughing matter. We have to locate where he is, or else, I lose my only chance at getting back at that bastard. We must cut the weed before it becomes troublesome later. Do everything in your power to kill him."

"Aye-aye boss! I won't let you down." The god saluted in an overly jovial tone.

Putting the laptop down, he turned to lay on his bed, tired from having worked himself to the bone in the matter of several hours. And with Loki having left just as fast as he entered, Naoya let out a sigh, resting for the day.
