Kai watched as the girl vanished into the night. Lightning striking now and then. The second the oni was out of sight, Jay had run out. He enjoyed the rain, storms even more. And at times like this, it calmed him down. Of course, being the master of lightning and all. Nya joined him. She always liked the rain and he finally knew why. He also knew why he hated the rain. Fire and rain didn't match.
He didn't know if he had made a fatal mistake, one the others didn't even know about. If he could trust her with this, not to betray them again, he had to find out. In the end, that he swore himself, he would get his brother back. Like the last time he wasn't himself. Maybe it was a mistake to let her go.
"You sure this was a good idea?"
Kai turned around the see Morro leaning against the doorframe glaring at him. He sighed.
"What other choice did I have?"
"How about talking to us"
"There was no time! I would've if we had had more time to discuss this. But the longer we wait the more dangerous it will get. For now, Harumi may be able to hold him back, but if this really is like Sensei told us, then there is no time to lose" Kai looked away again. He was well aware of how stupid this was.
Morro sighed. "Good news is that Lloyd is still part human and dragon, that didn't change. As long as she can keep him in line, nothing will happen. Better question is: how do we even put the crystal back together?" he asked.
"Sensei said that the crystal can put itself back together if all the pieces are connected. And the power of the crystal will produce enough light power to knock Lloyd out for about two hour" Kai shrugged.
"Let's just hoped that nothing happens. If she messes up, we can throw the whole plan away"
Harumi had never felt so uneasy in all her life. Since the day she got to live in the palace, she had learnt that the environment around her could be used to her advantage. She had used the palace and her charm to seduce Lloyd into liking her.
But this was entirely new. Everything was dark and basically screamed for her to get out. She had to admit that she felt a little scared of meeting Lloyd now. If he had hurt Morro without hesitation, she didn't want to think about what he would do to her, after all the pain she had caused.
But if the oni warrior came with no intention of hurting anyone, including her, then maybe she had a good chance. Then again, maybe the other just wanted to do it himself.
The former princes took a deep breath as she entered the castle. The umbrella cased aside, only for one of the oni's to pick it up and put it away. The inside of the castle looked even bigger than the outside.
The oni that had picked her up instructed her to follow, and she did. Not like she would know where to go. It seemed even bigger than the jade palace. But she learnt to move around that palace, so she would learn to find her away around here too.
The oni opened a large door, where two others were standing, probably guarding it. Harumi knew this kind of guards. They were there to guard the room the king was in at all times. Which meant Lloyd was in there, probably waiting for her.
The door creaked, the wood being bend of the force it took to open the large double door.
Harumi dared to peek over the oni's shoulder. And what she saw made her regret everything she had ever done. Yes, it was Lloyd, but at the same time it wasn't. The dark purple eyes and the black outfit didn't suit him. Even the crown looked out of place for her.
In her opinion, he was kind of good material for a king, but not this kind. And thinking about it for just a second, Harumi realized that it was her fault. If only she hadn't done all of this. Then the oni wouldn't have come to this world and everyone would be safe.
She knew that oni lived on blood. And it probably had to be the blood of humans. Now that was nerve wrecking.
When they finally reached the throne the oni bend down in submission and Harumi asked herself if she should do the same. But that thought was quickly abandoned when the former blond stood up. Yes, former. Along with most of his features, his hair had turned black too. She didn't like it one bit.
God what had she been thinking? She wanted this to happen, but now that she saw it, she hated herself for it. This isn't what she wanted. She wanted him to feel the pain she had felt when her parents died that day, but this?
The three stairs between the floor and the throne were quickly passed, and he stood right in front of her. If she should be scared, she had yet to decide. But when he smiled, actually smiled, she felt more relieved than ever before.
"I take it that the others were glad you finally left?" his voice was deeper. Not much, but enough so send a shiver down the spine of the former princes. So he thought she had betrayed them? If so, she had to play along.
She smirked, a hand coming up to brush her long hair back. "Yes, they were kind of glad your little servant came" she said.
"Good. It would've been a shame if I had to get rid of them this early"
Harumi was honestly surprised by that statement alone. Oni's really were heartless. She snaked her arm around his neck.
"I do hope though you didn't just get me to get rid of me" she whispered.
Harumi felt arms snake around her waist, pulling her closer to the other. She had never seen him so satisfied with her actions before.
"If I wanted that I would've just ordered them to do it"
The lips that touched hers were cold, almost freezing. She managed to ignore it after a few moments. She admitted it long ago and she will always do it again. "I love you" she whispered against his lips, half-lidded eyes looking deep into the purple orbs.
Lloyd pulled back. The look on his face showed confusion. It confused Harumi too. She thought he knew it, that her hate had turned into love long ago.
"Thought you only wanted the power" he muttered, avoiding her eyes.
Harumi could've cried in relieve. There was still a part of the real Lloyd alive in there. It was being pushed down by the oni side, but still alive. She could lure it out.
Her hand came up to his cheek. It felt just as cold as his lips. "I wanted to hate you, but I couldn't. Not anymore" and she brought her lips to his once again, clutching him even closer.
She felt him smile against her lips, pressing himself closer too. She wished this moment could last forever, but it wouldn't. She had to somehow get the last piece of the realm crystal and get out of there.
When he pulled away again, his gaze fell on the hairpin Zane had given her.
"What is it?" she asked, trying to hide how nervous his look made her.
Lloyd reached out and pulled the small hairpin out of her hair. Harumi brushed a few strands behind her ear after they fell out of place. Did he know? No, there was no way he could've found out in such a short time.
"Where did you get that?" he asked, voice strong yet wavering just a bit.
"I found it. It was on one of the counters in the bathroom. Nya said it wasn't hers, so I figured…" she lied.
It was the best she could come up with right now. If she told him that Zane gave it to her, then he would probably chain her up somewhere to make sure the others couldn't get more information. He knew every ability Zane had. It wouldn't take him to find out what if was for.
"No wonder. I got this"
"Huh?" Harumi looked at him surprise.
"I got this, before you showed your true face. I wanted to give it to you but then…" the former princes looked at him in pure shock. Zane had given her something Lloyd had intended to give her? Oh, now she felt even worse.
Lloyd clutched the small accessory in his hand, Harumi feared it would break.
"So you… just left it in there?" she felt pretty silly asking this.
"I was going to throw it away. I didn't even know I left it there" his cold hand grabbed hers, gently laying the hairpin back in hers. Harumi held it to her heart. Morro was wrong. There was so much of the real Lloyd in there. He still had emotions.
"But it doesn't matter now. You wont leave me again, so I have two presents for you" he snapped his fingers and two oni's approached them. The first one was presenting a crown on a dark purple pillow. It was a crown for a queen. Silver metal with amethyst's all around, one larger jewel in the center.
Lloyd took it from the pillow and held it out in front of him. Harumi leaned her head to the side in confusion.
"If you accept this there is no turning back. So you better decide now if you have been betraying me since you entered my castle" he warned.
Harumi sighed. Of course he had ben suspecting something. But the hairpin had been the only way the others could hear what was going on. Was it really so important for the others to hear what was going on? No, they had to know if she was in danger.
Instead of putting it back in her hair, Harumi attached it to her Outfit, making it look more like a brooch.
She took out a small Pocket watch from her jacket. It was something her adoptive father had given her.
"Zane gave this to me. It's supposed to help the Ninja to hear everything we say" she smashed it to the ground, shattering it into pieces. Hopefully, it was enough to convince him.
And apparently it was because he smirked and placed the crown on her head. It didn't feel heavy, she was still kind of used to wearing stuff on her head from the time she was the jade princess. What was she now? The queen of the oni? Queen of darkness?
The second oni stepped forward and held out a necklace. It was shaped like a star, the purple color shining a bit in the light. Lloyd took that one too and opened the star pendant. Harumi gasped. Inside layed the last piece of the realm crystal. So that was where he wanted to hide it. He believed that if she really was on his side then he could give it to her, and no one would ever see it again.
Lloyd closed the star again, gesturing for her to turn around. Harumi did and held her hair so it wouldn't get in the way. He placed the necklace around her neck, securing the hook. The cold metal fell onto the exposed part of her chest.
Lloyd held her shoulders, leaning closer to her ear.
"Now the others won't ever find it. The realm crystal will never be completed again" he kissed her cheek.
Harumi clutched her jacket closer to her. If you listened closely you could hear something move around on the inside.
If only he knew….
Soooo here we go. For the last few month I had the feeling that I just wasn't interested in Ninjago anymore. But now I feel the vibe again and we can finally continue this.
It would be really nice though, if I see some comments for this chapter that don't just say 'Please continue' or something along those lines.
It's great to know that you like it, but it would be great to see something else in the comments for once.
Bye
