"I'll be back"

continuation of previous one shot

BOOM! Was the last thing Andy heard before her husband walked out of his office. He was mad and was probably going to go make a scene. Before she knew what she was doing she ran after him. Running as fast as she could she finally caught up with him, in front of the reception desk. She breathed a sigh of relief.

"Robert, look at me." He ignored her and continued looking straight ahead at the man standing in the barn who just called his wife a whore. "Robert...baby please look at me," she said reaching for his face and bringing it down to hers, "It isn't worth it, I love you and I'm not leaving you that's all that matters," Robert said nothing. Moving Andy to the side as gentle as he could he walked into the barn, Andy running not too far behind him.

He walked up to Jack, got close to his face and said, "Gibson, my office Now!" and began walking off, ensuring not to make eye contact with Andy because he knew just one look at her would calm him down and he wanted to give Jack a piece of his mind.

"No Chief, I am helping my team set up for his spaghetti diner for Pruitt. Whatever you have to talk to me about do it while I set up." He said looking straight at Andy. That only pissed Robert off more.

"If you insist" Robert responded with a smirk daring to find a home on his lips. "Andy told me everything, and don't you dare try and deny it," he said using his chief voice. This was a voice Andy hadn't heard in so long, the last time she heard it was the day after Ryan's funeral when she asked to go back to work. Hearing it again scared her, she was scared of what Robert was going to say and do to Jack.

"Oh boy, Andy you've done it know. What? You went and told on me to your boyfriend?" when Jack said that it caused everyone to look up their eyes wandering from Jack to Andy to Sullivan and then back to Andy. "Oh my bad, no disrespect Chief, I meant to say husband" He was now laughing. Robert had never been angrier.

"Gibson I suggest you watch what you say. Not only did you push my WIFE to tell you where she is sleeping. You continued to try and plant seeds of doubt in her mind. Doubts about us and our marriage. Saying things that you had no right to say, after everything that you have done." Robert was no longer talking to Jack as his boss, he was talking to him as Andy's husband, her protector. "Then you have the nerve to corner her and call her a whore, I swear to God I should punch you right now. But I won't because it's not worth upsetting my wife more than she already is."

At this point not only was their secret about them being together out to the entire team but so was the secret about them getting married. Just as Sullivan was about to walk away from Gibson, he heard him say something else.

"Let's all remember who Andy ran too when you and here were fighting," He said and then resumed sweeping.

Before Andy could yell for him, Sullivan lunged at Gibson knocking him to the ground. He didn't punch him, he just held his arms on the ground. "Don't ever talk about my wife like that again, the next time you do, you won't be walking away looking so pretty?" he said getting up and walking away. He walked passed Andy and went straight out the door. He needed some fresh air, he was still angry. He didn't get to do or say what he wanted to because he is the boss, they are at work, and civilians would be coming in any minute now.

Andy who was still standing by the door of the barn frozen, not knowing what to do, was suddenly bombarded with questions from her friends.

"When did this happen?" Vic said

"How long were you guys together?" followed Travis

"I can't believe this" Dean said

"I knew you guys were together but MARRIED!?" joined in Maya

Emmett just stood there silent. Not knowing what to do or say.

"I will answer all your questions during dinner. But excuse me I have to go check on my husband." She said that last part while staring directly at Jack and walked off without another word. The team just turned to look at Jack before Maya ordered them back to work.

Andy made her way outside to find Robert sitting on a bench. She didn't know whether to go up to him or just watch him from a distance. She decided to get closer to him. While making her way around the bench to sit next to him she placed her hand on his shoulder, gently squeezing it to let him know she was there. But he didn't move, he was still angry and still deep in thought.

"I want you to move out" He finally said after what felt like forever

"Move out?" Andy questioned

"I want you to move out of the place you shared with Jack and I want you to move all your stuff in with me. We are married we live together, we should be living together so bring all your stuff over. After shift, we will go and I will help you because I don't want you alone with him ever again." he said the last part staring Andy directly in the eye, showing her how serious he was. She wasn't sure if she was ready to cut off all connection with her friend of so many years, but she had other priorities now, her husband was her priority and if he felt uncomfortable, she was going to do everything in her power to change that.

"Okay" was all she said grabbing her husband's hand and kissing it. She loved him, and he loved her. That much she knew. That was the only thing she was certain of right now, their love.

Robert wrapped his arm around Andy bringing her as close to him as possible. Meanwhile inside the team was watching from the window.

"I know this is so wrong, but they are so cute together. I think they are perfect for each other, they have what I wish I had." said Vic looking down during the last part, Travis came over and hugged her.

"I know you still miss him, Vic, you and Ripley would've been the perfect love story, but now we have to be happy for Andy, show her that we support her." Dean said

They all continued to talk about the newly married couple sitting on the bench until Jack came in and they all turned around. They weren't going to say anything but they were all mad at him for what he did, especially Travis.

"Jack, I think you should apologize to both of them, but especially Andy. She is our family before she is anyone's ex or wife. We love her and support her, and what you did and said was something you would never say to family." Travis who was now standing face to face with Jack said, he was mad and everyone could see it.

"Fine" Jack said walking out the door followed by the rest of the team. They were going to support their Chief and their friend no matter what.

They made their way to the bench and Maya spoke, "Chief...Andy...We all have something that we would like to say."

Robert and Andy look up to see the entire team standing in front of them. They both stood up and nodded indicating that they were ready to listen. Just then Jack came out from behind the group, this triggered an instant reflex in Robert who instantly put his arm around Andy's waist, showing that he was protecting her and never letting her go. Andy looked at her husband and saw all the anger they just talked about coming right back. She put her arm around his back, rubbing it, telling him silently that it's okay.

"Andy, you are our family before you are anyone's ex or anyone's wife. What I did was out of line, not only as a colleague but also as a friend. As a friend, I should be able to tell you when you messed up and did something stupid. But the way you talk about the Chief and how much you love him, clearly it wasn't a mistake and I should've respected that. I should've respected you." "And you as well," he said turning to the chief. "I shouldn't have cornered you in the turnout closet either. So I'm saying all this to say that I'm sorry to both of you and I will respect my boundaries and respect your marriage." he said looking between Andy and Sullivan waiting for them to say something...anything.

"Thank you, Gibson. I am sorry for lunging at you and saying what I said to you as well. I was not showing much leadership and maturity on my part, and for that, I apologize. I was in husband mode and not Battalion Chief mode. So I'm sorry." Robert said still holding onto Andy for what seemed like dear life.

Andy didn't say a word, she was hurt by what Jack said and tried to do. She just looked at him and gave him a slight smile. Jack knew he would have to do a lot to regain her trust and respect.

Then Maya took a step forward "I would just like to say, although marriage is a big step, we all support you guy. Chief I have known Andy for many years and I have never seen her like this with anyone. She is happy, and she is a good person who deserves the world. I'm happy she found this is someone like you." Maya said giving Andy and hug. She was about to shake Sullivan's hand when he extended his arms for a hug as well. These were Andy's friend, her family, which meant they were his family too.

Everyone went for a round of hugs, giving their congratulations to the new couple. The team besides Andy and Robert went back inside to finish setting up for the dinner. Andy looked up at Robert and said, "I love you so much." He looked down at her with a smile, "I love you too...no more secrets" he said before planting the most loving kiss she has ever felt. The last time she was kissed like that was at their wedding. They broke away and walked into the station hand in hand, to help the team set up.
