Chapter 3: Bro

Peter and Gwen finally reach the nearest Starbucks, Gwen orders the same drink she had before and Peter gave the barista some cash. While the two awkwardly wait for Gwen's Drink Peter looks back at her ID badge.

"So working for Stark huh?" asked Peter, "I didn't know they had a research place in New York,"

"They had one, Stark Tower but we all know how that ended but they bought a new building recently, and yeah um I'm a research assistant, bioengineering, biochemistry, you know, I mean no why would you know," Gwen said as she chuckled softly.

"No what do you mean of course I know that biochemistry, mechanical engineering all that's my dream,"

"Wow, you are more interesting than I thought you were," Gwen smiles at Peter, again looking at her watch, "Hey I have a meeting I have to get to but thank you for the coffee,"

"Oh no problem," said Peter as he smiles.

Gwen shuffles through her lab coat and pulls out a business card, "Here call me anytime, personal number is on there too, maybe I'll give you a tour," Gwen steps back but stops and looks back at Peter, "You never told me your name,"

Peter stutters as he is hesitant about having anybody know who he is.

"Do you know your name?" asked Gwen.

"Peter... Parker,"

"Nice meeting you, Peter Parker," said Gwen as she walks out of the cafe. Peter watches her leave and fumbles his hands wondering if he made the right decision by making himself known to her, but he halts these thoughts as he quickly exits the cafe and walks into an empty alleyway, then out jumps Spider-Man as he swings through the busy streets of Manhattan to try and find more leads about the mysterious activities going on in the city. As he passed Grand Central Station, Spider-Man swung and his momentum propelled him high in the air, but then suddenly as he was about to shoot another web to swing off of, an electrified rope wrapped around Spidey knocking him out. He fell but before he could hit the ground, the one who launched the rope caught him and swung off...

Spider-Man struggled to wake up he was sitting down in an apartment with the rope still around him. His eye lenses opened as he woke up and looked around, seeing he was restrained he tried to break free but it was no use. Spider-Man looked to his left and saw the Black Cat and couldn't help but admire the way she looked in her suit, he was quite attracted.

"Don't look too hard Spider," she said smiling as she walked over to him slowly.

"Don't get the wrong idea Cat, remember I can trap you with my webs like this too,"

Black Cat giggled and leaned right into Spider-Man's ear and whispered softly, "I got a bed in the next room if you wanna try,"

Spider-Man groaned in frustration, "Why do you have me here?"

"Just wanted to talk," she said with her hands on his cheek, "I'm not your enemy here,"

"Yeah? Well, the whole breaking into a museum and stealing stuff kind of makes it seems like you are,"

"How about," the Cat said as he caressed his chest, "I tell you who I'm working for?"

Spider-Man lenses widened as he looked up at her, "Maybe lead with that next time, Cat, who hired you?"

Black Cat walked away from Spider-Man as she looked around her apartment, "I was hired by a guy who works for a company called Sloan Limited,"

"Sloan Limited, and who was the guy?"

"He didn't say," said Black Cat as she let Spider-Man out of the restraints. "But that's all I know,"

"They only hired you for the one drive?"

"Yeah so far but I have no way to contact them plus I don't want to get involved I just want to get paid,"

Spider-Man still didn't trust her, "Why would you tell me this?"

Black Cat approached Peter and looked him up and down and smiled, "Because I like you Spider,"

Spider-Man's eyes widened, "Okay well thanks for the information I gotta go bye," the web-slinger fires two webs at either side of a nearby window and launched himself out of it into the city, the sun setting in the distance.

"Okay, that was weird, time to call Mr. Devil man,"

Spider-Man dialed Daredevil's number it rang for a while so he wasn't sure he'd pick up.

Matt was sitting in his apartment running his fingers across a paper with braille on it. He heard his phone speak as it announces who is calling, "Unknown Number... Unknown Number,"

Matt stood up and walked over to his phone he answered and paused before speaking, "Who is this?"

"Hey! Yeah, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man here,"

Matt sighs in relief, "I should save your number,"

"Yeah, I got a lead, ever heard of Sloan Limited?"

"No,"

"Well, they're the ones who hired the Black Cat,"

Matt got up and immediately started walking to his suit, "I'll look into it,"

"Keep me posted Devil-guy,"

Matt hung up and immediately put on his suit, before putting his helmet on, he dialed Jessica Jones.

Jessica answered annoyed," I tried looking into it Matt but I couldn't find anything,"

"I need you to look into something, Sloan Limited they hired the Black Cat,"

Jessica looked confused and went to her computer, "Okay hold on,"

Jessica looked up Sloan Limited and after some deep investigating found something and it piqued her interest in the case. "I found something here says that they recently bought a property that used to be a hardware store,"

"That doesn't make sense they had to be operating out of somewhere when they hired the Cat,"

"I don't know but it's weird, look I'll send you the address and meet you there," said Jessica as she hung up the phone and got her things.

Matt put his helmet on and called Spider-Man, "Hardware store on 46th and 11th meet me there," said Matt as he hung up immediately.

Jessica Jones gets off of the subway and approaches the location, the street is quiet, and from what she can tell Matt hasn't arrived yet. She sees the doors opening and three men in tracksuits come out. Jessica, not wanting to be seen leaps to the top of the building opposite from theirs. "Get out there and find it, the boss wants it ready to move by tomorrow," one of them says as the other two get into a truck. Before the truck leaves, she takes a picture of it as it had a logo on the side. Jessica turns as she hears someone landing and footsteps behind her. She sees Matt in his suit, she rolls her eyes and scoffs, "Oh my lord,"

"Yeah well as good as your scarf looks it doesn't offer much protection," Matt said referring to the first time they fought together in which he took her scarf to conceal his face.

Matt and Jessica peaked over the edge looking down at the building in question.

"Alright let's go," said Jessica standing up putting a foot on top of the edge of the wall around the rooftop. Matt grabbed her arm and said, "Wait,"

"What?" she said wondering what he was talking about.

Jessica looked to her right as she heard a thwip and then behind her Spider-Man landed sideways on a pole and looked up at her his eye lenses shrunk as he was wondering who she was.

"Oh you're shitting me," said Jessica

Spider-Man looked at Daredevil confused as he thought it was only the two of them.

"Uh, Spider-Man this is Jessica Jones she's working the case with us," said Daredevil.

Spidey casually still hanging on, flipped off of the pole landing on his feet standing normally now, extended his hand out, "Hi, I'm Spider-Man,"

Jessica shook his hand reluctantly, "Yeah I kinda put that together," She looked at Daredevil, "any more costume-wearing friends of yours coming?"

"No," said Daredevil smiling.

Spider-Man looked down at the building, "Alright so this is the place,"

Daredevil looked down at the building, "There's about 30 guys in there all armed," he then looks back at Spider-Man and Jessica Jones.

"If this is where they're operating out of there has to be more information inside, so I say we go in loud find what we can, and get out,"

Jessica nods, Spider-Man puts two fingers on the side of his mask and scans the building for entry points. "There's a door on the rooftop with a ladder down, let's go,"

The three vigilantes head to the entrance but there's a lock on it. Spider-Man enthusiastically says "I got it!" However, before Spidey can reach the lock, Jessica snaps the lock as if it were paper.

Jessica peeks into the room and sees no one there, so she drops down followed by Spider-Man & Daredevil.

"Through there," says Daredevil pointing at a door.

Spider-Man looks at a vent near to the door, "You guys take the door, I have a private ventrance," he says as he web zips to the vent and climbs through.

Spider-Man climbs out of the vent and crawls on the high ceiling of the warehouse-like building. Seeing one of the tracksuit guys is isolated he webs him pulling him up and webbing him to the ceiling.

Meanwhile, Daredevil and Jessica are still waiting for Spider-Man to get into position.

"Okay he's in position, breach on 3, 1...2-"

Daredevil is interrupted by Jessica kicking the steel door off of its hinges, all of the thugs immediately run towards Jessica and Daredevil.

However, Spider-Man drops down from the ceiling, "Woah guys nobody told me it's national tracksuit day!" he says as he webs three of the thugs by the ankles tripping them and finishing them off by webbing them to the ground. "It's always tracksuit day, bro!" said one of them.

Jessica Jones was putting her powers on full display and Spider-Man was amazed as she punched one of the thugs all the way to where Spider-Man was which was about 15 feet away. As the thug came flying towards him Spider-Man caught him with his foot kicking him into a nearby shelf, "Kill him, bro!"

"Ugh, why do you guys keep saying bro?" Jessica said frustrated.

Daredevil swung his billy club around one of the thug's necks choking him, then jumped off of him performing a spinning back kick on the one behind him. Having dealt with them Daredevil caught a glimpse of Spider-Man dealing with four thugs at once and in order to assist threw his billy club aiming directly at one of their faces. Spider-Man webbed it though, spinning it around and giving it more momentum, and aimed it back at the thug immediately knocking him out.

One of the thugs aimed his rifle at Spider-Man but of course, his Spidey-Sense would not fail him again, he skillfully evaded the bullets and then leaped past him webbing him wheeled him around, and slammed him into the ground.

Everything was going well for the three as of course how could they fail they were just simple thugs. Soon, Spider-Man, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil would have defeated them all.

Daredevil sensed a computer in a nearby office, "This way he said," As soon as they entered the office Daredevil and Spider-Man made sure it was safe and Jessica went straight to work. Spider-Man zipped to the roof as it was broken and high and looked for anything that might be a but saw nothing. we then descended hanging by his web right over Jessica to see what she was doing.

"Sloan Limited, CEO is Jack Duqense who is pretty much your average rich slob, recently proposed to an Eleanor Bishop who is CEO of Bishop Security so rich slob proposes to rich slob cool,"

Spider-Man still hanging upside down, was watching Jessica as she searched up information on anyone involved she could find.

Daredevil started to worry, Why would this place with so much information be so unguarded he kept his guard up and kept trying to listen out for anyone else in the building.

"Hey what's that?" said Spider-Man pointing at a link on the search engine that said "Breaking News,"

It was a News headline and when Jessica opened the site it played the broadcast.

This is J Jonah Jameson reporting from Rockefeller Center! Once again there is superhero craziness in New York. As you can see From the footage there is an ongoing skirmish on the ice rink between the Avenger known as Hawkeye with an unknown accomplice, against a multitude of men in Tracksuits. This was of course where head of Bishop Security, Eleanor Bishop was hosting her annual Bishop Christmas Party. All that's left to make this night worse is for that MASKED MENACE SPIDER-MAN to appear! More details soon, here, on .

"Spider-Man go there now find out what's going on, we'll stay here and find out as much as we can," said Daredevil.

"I'm on it," Spider-Man swung out towards the scene in Rockefeller Center.

"What else do we know about Jack or Eleanor,"

"Well Jack spent a day in jail for money laundering but was bailed out in a day, and Eleanor nothing other than her daughter Kate Bishop she seems cle-"

Jessica was interrupted by Daredevil flying across the office, and a large Man in biker gear appeared grabbing him and throwing her out of the office. Jessica got up and stood ready to punch the man but the man caught her punch and grabbed her as well slamming her into the ground and knocking her out. Daredevil got up threw his billy club at the man right at his forehead but he didn't even try to stop it. It hit him dead center but the man was not fazed. Daredevil went in for a punch but as soon as he hit him it did nothing, he looked up at the man who smiled as he threw Daredevil out into the warehouse where he was met by several bikers who all tazed him at the same time, and he too was downed.

"For your consideration, the name's Tombstone," he said in a deep scary voice and then started to beat Daredevil until he passed out.

"Alright boys, tie 'em up," Tombstone said to his bikers.
