Chapter 5: Introductions

Matt remembered the penthouse of the Presidential Hotel, he was fighting most of the time of course but he couldn't forget how disgusted he was. The pristine, expensive decorations and the art that adorned the walls of the penthouse. It enraged Matt that Fisk had all of these luxuries despite his crimes.

After Bullseye was out of the fight, Murdock and Fisk fought until Fisk punched him to the ground. Fisk had become distracted by Vanessa who was standing on the staircase in horror at everything going on, Kingpin smiled at her. As Matt got up he punched Fisk across the face.

"Stop," Vanessa said softly.

Matt punched him again, and then again, and again until he fell to his knees. He yelled every time he threw a punch, splattering Fisk's blood across the painting behind him. Matt sped up his punches as his rage grew with every punch.

"Stop it, please!" shouted Vanessa.

Matt halted his attack and put his hands on Fisk to try and snap his neck, but he just couldn't do it. This is what Fisk wanted, he wanted Daredevil to destroy who he was. Matt let out a primal scream that echoed throughout the penthouse. Fisk still on his knees outstretched his arms ready for Daredevil to take his life, "I will never stop hunting Karen Page or Foggy Nelson, I will tell the world who you really are!" Fisk threatened.

"Wilson," said Vanessa.

"Vanessa go! Please!" Fisk shouted.

Matt pointed at Fisk, "You, you want me to kill you,"

"No prison can hold me, you know that, COME ON! KILL ME!"

"NO! God knows I want to, but you don't get to destroy who I am! You will go back to prison! And you will live the rest of your miserable life in a cage, knowing you'll never have Vanessa, that THIS CITY REJECTED YOU! IT BEAT YOU! I BEAT YOU!"

Matt dropped to his knees to face Fisk and pulled up his mask to reveal his face, "You'll keep my secret, and you won't harm Karen Page or Foggy Nelson or anyone else, because if you do... I will go after your wife,"

Fisk growled, but Matt went on, "And I will prove Vanessa ordered the murder of Agent Ray Nadeem, and like her husband, she will spend the rest of her life in a cell..."

Present Day...

"That seemed intense," said Spider-Man as he listened eagerly as Daredevil recounted the tale of the last time he confronted Fisk.

"I took him down twice doesn't mean I can't do it a third time," said Daredevil angrily.

"Well look it'll be easier now that you have help, I'm here for you,"

Daredevil looks away, hesitant to involve Spider-Man. He gets up and looks out at the city, "the first time I tried to do this with someone, they died," Daredevil looked back at Spider-Man, "Elektra, she... I loved her... then only for some crazy ninjas to bring her back to life,"

Spider-Man was intrigued to hear his stories, as he has never had anyone to talk to about superhero things since Tony Stark died.

Daredevil continued, "then I teamed up again, with Jessica and some other people, to fight said ninjas, and then I had to watch Elektra die again, and then so did I."

Spider-Man tilted his head, "but you're here aren't you?"

"It felt like I did," said Daredevil said solemnly.

Spider-Man sympathized obviously, "I lost everything recently,"

Daredevil looked over at Spider-Man interested to know about him, "I've lost more people than I would have liked, when I blipped back I went to fight Thanos with the Avengers, and then I lost Tony,"

"Tony Stark," said Daredevil.

"Yeah, he was like a father to me the closest I had to one since Uncle Ben died,"

Spider-Man continued telling his story, "then I lost my Aunt May and then I lost everyone,"

"What do you mean?" asked Daredevil.

"When my identity was revealed to the world, I went to Doctor Strange to make a spell to that would make it so it never happened but I messed up the spell and it brought villains from other universes into this one, one of them, Green Goblin, killed Aunt May,"

"Thats crazy but it sounds like it was hard," said Daredevil.

"Yeah, anyway to send them back Strange had to do a different spell but this one to make everyone forget about me so I lost everyone because they don't remember me,"

Daredevil looked down, "I'm sorry," he said as he went and sat down next to Spider-Man.

The two heroes looked out onto the city, their home where both have lost and gained so much.

Daredevil didn't know Spider-Man all that well but he felt like he could relate to him, "Look we don't know each other all that well and I think that in order to take down Fisk we have to,"

Spider-Man looked at him confused, "I'm sorry did we not just share our superhero stories here?"

Daredevil put his palm on his helmet and started pulling it off. Spider-Man's eyes widened, as he witnessed Daredevil pull his mask off.

"Matt Murdock," he said introducing himself to Spider-Man. Spider-Man obviously did not want to take his mask but felt obliged after he just did the same.

Spider-Man pulled his mask off and sheepishly said, "Hi, I'm Peter Parker,"

Matt's eyebrows raised and it looked as if he was glitching, computing, "Matt?" asked Peter.

Matt paused and said, "Peter Parker... I... I defended you you hired me as your lawyer!"

"Yeah nice to see you again," said Peter. He looked away and then asked Matt, "Well you're officially the only person who knows who I am, does anyone know who you are?"

"Yeah, Foggy, Karen, and Fisk," said Matt.

Peter went hysterical, "Fisk knows who you are?!"

Matt nodded and Peter went on, "Tombstone is working with Fisk which means Fisk knows you are onto him!"

"Okay and?"

"And you need to find this Karen Page and Foggy Nelson and get them safe because he'll hunt them down, he told you he would!"

Matt's jaw dropped at this realization with this he put his helmet back on, "Peter you're right I have to go," Matt then jumped off the side of the building to go save Foggy and Karen.

Peter was left there on the rooftop he wondered if he made the right decision by revealing himself to Matt as he didn't want to put anyone else in danger. However, the fact that Matt was a superhero like him gave him some comfort as the Avengers were never in any danger by knowing his identity.

Peter let out a sigh as he put on his mask and fell backward off the building swinging off to his apartment.

As Peter reached his apartment, he took off his suit and threw it on a nearby chair. He felt tired but couldn't sleep, it was almost morning anyway. Peter sat in his bed and looked at his desk seeing once again the coffee cup and the lego from MJ and Ned and nearby was Gwen's business card.

He looked at it for a good minute tapping his finger on his bed contemplating whether or not to call her but, of course, he reached over and snatched it along with his phone.

His phone toned and toned.

"No, No Peter," he said as he hung up and tossed his phone on the bed. He laid back and facepalmed.

Suddenly, his phone started ringing he jumped up to look at it. It was Gwen calling back, he had to answer.

"Hello?" said Peter.

"I knew you'd call me eventually," said Gwen.

"What are you doing up so early?" asked Peter.

"Oh you know getting ready for today,"

"What's so special about today?" asked Peter.

"It's Christmas Peter,"

"Oh right of course,"

"You have any plans for today?" asked Gwen.

"Uhh No, none at all,"

"Oh okay well uh want to grab some coffee?"

Peter's eyes widened with excitement and grinned to show it, "Ye-Yeah that would be great,"

"Cool meet me at the address I just sent you,"

Peter hung up the phone, still grinning immediately went to get ready.

Later, Gwen was standing outside of the coffee shop waiting for Peter.

Peter walked along to the coffee shop, a different coffee shop from the first one he went to with Gwen.

"'Hey, Gwen! Uh looking good is that a new shirt?' No! No, that's stupid, or what if I just am smooth and just, 'Hey,' with a shoulder touch, Ugh Peter you're so awkward just be yourself, be yourself," he said. Peter turned the corner and saw Gwen standing in front of the coffee shop waiting. She turned towards Peter, noticing him. Peter looked upon her as she moved her hair to the side revealing her deep blue eyes. Peter has lived alone with no one for so long since Strange's spell, walked the streets of New York without anyone giving him the time of day, back to being a nobody, but out of all those people, Gwen noticed him.

"Hi Pete," she said with a grin on her face

"Hi, Gwen, you look nice,"

"Thanks," she said.

Peter looked at the door and then back at Gwen, "Okay well let's go in I guess,"

He started walking in but Gwen handed him a cup of coffee, he stood there surprised.

"Medium Latte, just like you got it last time," she said.

"Wow thank you," said Peter flabbergasted, "but why?"

"Well we need to make good time if you want to see the Stark Research building, come on," she said starting to walk down the street, coffee in hand.

Peter was flabbergasted but still wanted to see her workplace. He quickly picked up his things and followed her down the street and as he and Gwen walked away, a curious Michelle Jones Watson could be seen at the other side of the street.

MJ took out her phone and made a call,

"Hey, Ned, what's up,"

"Oh hey MJ, I'm just packing up right now,"

"Cool look you remember that guy that came into my coffee shop a while ago? I just sent you a picture of him,"

Ned pauses as he looks at the picture, "Oh yeah I think so, wait why are you following him?"

"Because I... there's something about him I need to know," she said holding the broken Black Dalia necklace still around her neck...

Earlier...

Matt landed on a rooftop and ran across racing towards Karen as he had already notified his best friend Foggy of the danger. Matt arrived at Karen's apartment building and halted at the door sensing if Karen was okay. He stood there, trying to find Karen among the noise...

A group of friends laughing on the first floor...

A couple arguing on the fifth floor...

On the fourth floor a fast heartbeat, Karen's, and then multiple gunshots, and a sharp scream from Karen...

With that, Daredevil scaled the building to the outside of Karen's window and kicked through knocking down one of the attackers, and then used his billy club to wrap around the other thug's ankle, knocking him down as well. Matt let go of his billy club and started to furiously beat the thug, landing violent blows, his fist becoming bloodier and bloodier.

Matt quickly stood up, "Karen?!"

"Don't move, bro!" said a thug as he appeared from behind a wall holding, a sobbing Karen by the neck with a gun pointed to her head.

"Hey just relax," Daredevil said raising his hands slowly, "Just put the gun down, Fisk wants me he can take me,"

"Hey bro, you are outnumbered," said the tracksuit laughing as two other tracksuits appear behind him. Suddenly a bullet goes through the head of the tracksuit holding Karen. Hundreds of bullets go through the other two tracksuits. Then the shooter turned his gun on Daredevil, but Daredevil knew who he was from his heartbeat. Karen looked on him instantly recognizing him by the long black overcoat, black combat boots, and across his bulletproof vest was a terrifying spray-painted white skull.

"Frank," said Daredevil.

He lowered his gun.

"You're Goddamn right its me, Red," said The Punisher...
