Over the next couple of days, Mike and Kayla went about their daily routine. Mike also made an appearance at SummerSlam Axxess, signing autographs and took pictures with fans. Some of the fans gave Mike baby gifts.
"Thank you," he said to the fan.
"You're welcome," She said.
"But you didn't have to buy anything," he said to a fan.
"Yes, I know but I want too," she said.
After the autographs signing, Mike head back home when he arrived and walk into the house he was greeted by Kathy.
"Hi, daddy," she said with a smile from the couch.
"Hi, princess," he said walking into the living room around the couch, sat down and kiss her.
"Where are mommy and Vicky?" He asked.
"Upstairs," she replied looking up at him.
Just then, Vicky and Kayla came walking into the living room and saw Mike was back from his appearance.
"Daddy," Vicky said running around the couch and Mike caught her and kisses her.
"Hi, princess," he said.
"Hi, honey," Kayla, said sitting down on the couch beside him.
"Hi, my love," he said leaning over and kissing her gently on the lips.
"How was the appearance?" She asked
"Okay, oh, I have gifts for you," he said, standing up walking around the couch and then out of the living room.
"Gifts mommy," Kathy said.
"I guess daddy went shopping for baby clothes for your sibling," she answered.
He came walking back into the living room carrying some gifted bags. He walked around the couch and sat down beside her.
"Some of the fans gave baby gifts for our baby," he said, hand the bags
"Aw, that was so sweet of them. They didn't have bought anything," she said, looking into the bags, and pulling out baby clothes.
"I told them that, but they said they want too," he said, as Kayla looking at the baby clothes.
"They are adorable baby clothes," she said.
"Mommy cute outfit," she said with a smile.
"Yes, pebble cute outfit for your sibling," she said.
"I like this one," Mike said, holding up a onesie that says daddy loves me.
Kayla chuckle and says, "That's cute." Kayla winces and closed her eyes in some discomforts.
"Mommy," she said
"Honey, what's wrong?" Mike asked
"Something's wrong. Something's wrong with the baby."
"Ok. Ok… Just hold on," he said, grab the phone from the table began to dial his mom, and he began to tell her he needs her to come over immediately. She told him she is on her way over. Kayla hunches over on the couch, she is in obvious pain.
"Mike it's hurt," she said, in pain.
"I know baby, mom is on her way, over," he said, ten minutes later the doorbell rang and he got up, hurry out of the living room, and opened the door to see his mom there.
She enters the house and they hurried into the living room. Abbey saw her daughter in law, in pain. She rushes over and kneels down beside her.
"Kayla, honey its mom are you have cramps?" She asked
"Yes mom, they're getting strong and sharp," she replied
"Okay, honey. Mike is going to take you to the emergency room and I will call you doctor," she said,
"Okay, mom," she said, as Mike help Kayla up and they walked out of the living room.
"Grandma Mommy okay?" Kathy asked her grandma.
"Yes, sweetie," she said picking up the phone and dial Dr. Amber Jones' number.
"Doctor Amber Jones here," she said.
"Doctor Jones this is Abbey Mizanin, Kayla Mizanin's mother in law," she said.
"Hello, Mrs. Mizanin what can I do for you?" She asked
"My son Mike is taking Kayla to the emergency room right now she is experiencing cramps."
"Okay, I am at the hospital," she said, hang up and then rush off to set up a private room for Kayla Mizanin. Abbey hangs up the phone.
At the Mercy General Hospital, a nurse wheels Kayla into the hospital in a wheelchair. She's wincing and clutching her expanded belly. Nurse Barbara Cruz runs over to her and puts her hand on her shoulder.
"Kayla? Hi. Dr. Jones called me and told me you were coming. Have the cramps subsided?"
With her head in her hands, and Kayla says, "No, they're- they're strong and they're sharp still."
"OK, I'll take it from here," she began as the nurse walk off. "Dr. Jones, has a private room, waiting for you, and we're going to get you hooked up to a fetal heart monitor and figure out what we need to do for you, ok?"
Kayla can hardly open her eyes. She breathes deeply and clutches her expand belly.
"Is the cramping serious?" Mike said sounding worried for Kayla and their unborn child.
"Well, we're concerned… It could mean that the placenta is separating from the uterus."
"What? Is the baby going to be all right?" She asked
"Well, the important thing right now is for you to stay very calm Kayla."
"Is the baby at risk?" Mike asked
"Right now both Kayla and the baby could be."
"Oh," she breathes hard and throws her head into her hands again.
"Come on, let's go. Ok?"
Nurse Cruz wheels Kayla off with Mike following.
Mizanin's house, Abbey was talking to Linda on the phone and telling her that Mike took Kayla because she experienced sharp cramp.
"Is it serious Abbey?" Linda asked
"It could be Linda," she replied.
"Oh god," she said
"Linda you need to relax, I am sure that Dr. Jones is taking very good care of Kayla and our grandbaby."
Meanwhile back at Mercy General Hospital, Kayla is hooked up to a fetal monitor and an ultrasound. They are looking at the baby. Kayla is lying with an oxygen tube at her nose. She is nervous and so is Mike who is seat beside her. Dr. Jones and Nurse Cruz are listening to the heartbeat.
"Ok, Barbara," she began as she turns off the ultrasound. "How's the toco?"
Barbara looks at the printout from the machine and says, "It's returning to baseline, no deceleration." Kayla looks at Mike.
"Blood Pressure," Dr. Jones asked
"It's 138/74. It might be severe Braxton Hicks or dehydration."
"How frequent are the pains?" Dr. Jones asked
"About every 5 to 10 minutes."
"Lower back pain?" She asked
"Yes," Kayla answered
"Do you feel it more in your abdomen?" She asked
"It's- lower part of my abdomen. It feels like cramps."
"Ok"
"Dr. Jones, can you tell us what's going on?" Mike asked
"Any spotting"
"No. Is the baby all right?" Kayla asked
"Well, the placenta's intact. At this point, we, feel the baby appears to be fine."
"What cause my cramps then?" Kayla asked
At the McMahon house, Vince, Stephanie, and John look at her when she said seriously. Linda ends her call with Abbey.
"Mom, what's serious?" Stephanie asked
Linda looks at her and says, "Your sister was rush to the hospital because she experienced sharp cramps."
"What," they said together.
"Kayla began feeling discomfort so Mike rushes her to the emergency room," she said.
"And our grandson, Linda," Vince asked
"Abbey doesn't know, yet," she answers sitting down on the couch and put her head in her hands, she was worried for her daughter and grandson right.
"Mom I'm sure that Kayla and little Michael are just fine," Stephanie said trying to assure her mom that her sister and nephew are fine.
"Little Michael?" Vince asked
"Kayla told me his name is Michael Gregory Mizanin Jr. after his father Mike. But Mike is not to know," she replied.
Back at Mercy General Hospital, Dr. Jones is about to inform Kayla she putting her on bed rest.
"It could Braxton Hicks also knows as false labor. So I'm admitting you for observation Kayla. Your blood pressure is high too," she said.
"You mean right now?"
"Yes, right now," she said
"Dr. Jones you can't tomorrow night is SummerSlam. I need to be there," she said.
"I don't care what is tomorrow night. I want to rehydrate her, and a minimum of three days, bed rest. We'll assess at that point."
"I'll give her a liter and check her orthostatic," she said.
" I am not winning this argument," she said.
"No, you're not. Since I last saw you which was Thursday your blood pressure is high, and you are dehydration."
Barbara walk out the hospital room and Dr. Jones, says, "Now the ultrasound ruled out placental abruption as a cause of the cramping. In my opinion, it's stress and dehydration."
"Not good baby," Mike said.
'I know, but you know that Vicky and Kathy are starting school in a few weeks and I go on maternity at the same time," she said.
"Kayla that no excuse. You were not this careless when you were carrying Vicky and Kathy."
Barbara walks back in the hospital room and began hooking up Kayla, to IV.
"So, for the next three days, you are to stay confined to this bed and follows instruction."
"Yes, Dr. Jones," she said.
"Use this time to think about starting your maternity now, and not later," she said walking out of the hospital room.
"You need to make a decision before I made it for you," he said, standing up and walk out of the hospital.
Kayla laid there in the bed thinking what the last couple of days, at the headquarters, where she got into a heated argument with Creative writing staffers over Mike's match with annoy troll Bryan. She went back in time.
"I don't care what you think Donald. I am the boss of this department and you answer to me," she said with steel in her voice.
"Your father will agree with me that Daniel Bryan should win this match over your husband," Donald said.
"Dream on Donald. My father will agree with me that Mike is more deserving of the win than that annoying troll knows as Daniel Bryan."
"You can't even be biased toward your husband," he said
"Donald shut your mouth, now, before you lose your job,' she said.
Kayla snaps out of the flashback when she felt Mike sit down on the hospital again.
"Have you made the decision baby?" He asked
"Yes, there is no question as to which is more important. It's our unborn child.
