T8: Cousin Rivalry-(Part 2).
"It really blows my mind how you can call yourself a member of this family." Brooklynn said.
"Excuse me?" Lulu asked.
"You heard me." Brooklynn said. "You go on and on how you're the mother and wife of the 21st century. How perfection is in your DNA, how you're strong in your marriage to Dante and bla, bla, bla. But when your man is at home working, and you're several states away, you hook up with the first guy-"
"What the world was i suppose to do, Brooklynn?!" Lulu said, cutting Brooklynn off. "Dante chose to stay home and work! And he sent Dustin in his place, as if the presence of another guy is somehow going to make up for his not being here with me and Rocco!"
Brooklynn folded her arms and looked past Lulu. "Is that what you think, Olivia?"
Lulu turned around and saw Olivia, Alice, Monica, Tracy and Ned standing outside on the porch, with the door open, and instantly regretted every word she just said. How much had they heard? How much had Olivia heard? Dante was her older son, and the last thing Lulu wanted was to speak badly of him in her presence. "I'm sorry." She apologized. "Okay, i'm gonna grab Rocco and we're gonna go." Lulu said as she walked up the steps, onto the porch, made her way through Olivia and the others, and went back into the house, entering the foyer.
"No, no, no, no." Said Monica as she, Alice, Olivia, Tracy and Ned went into the house, entering into the foyer. "Lulu, please stay." She begged as Lulu stopped in her tracks. "Please."
Lulu turned to face Monica, Alice, Olivia, Tracy and Ned.
"It's Thanksgiving week. And the ladies and i are making this huge meal and we would really like you and Rocco to be here for it." Alice said.
"Yes, we would." Olivia added.
"Even though i just said something i would give anything to take back?" Lulu asked.
"You name me one family in America today that someone didn't blurt something stupid they wish with their whole heart that they could take back." Olivia said.
"Thank you. I really am sorry." Lulu said.
Olivia walked up to Lulu and embraced her with a hug, who hugged her back. "It's alright." They then ended the hug. "I'm gonna go back in the kitchen and finish helping." She said before leaving out of the foyer and heading back into the kitchen.
"I'm right behind you." Alice added before she followed after Olivia.
"Me too." Monica said as she followed Alice and Olivia.
Brooklynn entered into the house and closed the door. "Well...i see some things never change."
"What does that mean?" Lulu asked.
"You know what it means. You have everyone here feeling sorry for you. Lulu, the victim. Meanwhile, you're dating some new guy in front of your son." Brooklynn said.
"This coming from the girl who's had multiple failed relationships with many guys since her first year of high school?" Lulu asked as she walked up to Brooklynn.
"Okay! That's enough!" Ned shouted. "This is a holiday. It's Thanksgiving week. We are all a family."
"She is not my family!" Brooklynn and Lulu said as they pointed at each other.
"I'm gonna go help the others in the kitchen." Lulu said before leaving out of the foyer.
"So far 2024's Thanksgiving is off to a rocky start." Tracy said.
"It's not Thanksgiving yet, Mom. We still have three more days left. And a lot can happen in three days." Ned said.
But no one knew just how much "a lot" was going to happen...before Thanksgiving Day.
