Thanksgiving: The Fox And The Boy

While on Thanksgiving vacation with the family at his Grandmother's house in Grangeville, Idaho, Cameron, his pup, Mickey, and his two cousins encounter a boy who has run away from home with his pet Fox to keep it from being killed and made into a Thanksgiving meal by his stepfather, the sheriff. And they soon find themselves hiding the boy and fox out at Cam's Grandma's place.

14. T13: Dinner

T13: Dinner.

That night, the entire family, and Dustin, were all sitting at the long white cloth-covered dinner table in the dining-room, eating food from LONG JOHN SILVER'S Monica ordered and had delivered to the house. The food on the table was that of fried shrimp, friend fish, chicken-strips, grilled shrimp, lobster tails, salmon and french fries, and the drinks were glasses of sprite with ice in them.

Mickey stood on the floor and ate from fried shrimp out of his red dog-bowl.

After Lulu and Dustin returned home from the movies, she introduced him to the rest of the family, who gladly welcomed him to spend Thanksgiving week with them.

"So every year, my Grandpa use to make the same exact speech over and over. And then my Dad and my three uncles, they use to all make fun of him and do the same thing. Then he'd get really mad." Dustin said.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Everyone at the table, minus Brooklynn, burst out laughing.

"Oh, my gosh, Dustin, you are so funny!" Alice said. "Isn't he, Brooklynn?" She asked, looking at Brooklynn.

Brooklynn, however, didn't answer.

"I guess you had to be there." Dustin said to Brooklynn.

"Yeah. I was just wondering...why did Dante choose to work on Thanksgiving?" Brooklynn said.

"Yeah, why did he choose to work on Thanksgiving, Lulu?" Skye added.

"Uh, i just love the old Thanksgiving traditions, don't you, Lulu?" Olivia said, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah. Like making new people feel judged and then welcomed. Kind of commemorates how the settlers in the new world ended up treating the native Americans." Lulu said.

"Back off, you two. Not that what you're saying about the native Americans isn't true, but...Sorry." Brooklynn said.

"Could i see you for a minute, Brooklynn?" Olivia asked.

"Sure." Brooklynn said before she and Olivia got up from the table and began exiting the dining-room.

"I'll go with you." Alice said. "Excuse us." She said before getting up from the table and following Brooklynn and Olivia out of the dining-room.

"I'm right behind you." Tracy added before she got up from the table and followed after Alice, closing the door afterwards.

"What's that about?" Dustin asked.

Cameron, Rocco and Leo all shrugged their shoulders.
