Now that Ash has selected his Elite 4, he was expected to do some training with them. He then met up with them one by one, Kiawe, Gladion, and Olivia arrived.
Kiawe: So who's the last member?
His answer was then answered by the arrival of an unlikely face.
Kiawe: Guzma?
Guzma: That's right kid
"Goliso"
Gladion: Uh, Ash, not that I'm complaining, but is adding the leader of Team Skull really a good idea?
Ash: Sure he may be a little bit of a roughneck, but you can't deny how skilled a battler he is
Olivia: He has a point
The other two begrudgingly agreed with him, as they began their training with one another. Guzma decided to help Ash's Wimpod with getting stronger, as it really can't do so much in it's base stage. He knew that Wimpod's potential truly comes when it evolves into a mighty Golisopod. Guzma's Golisopod in particular took it upon himself to turn this puny isopod into a mighty warrior.
Meanwhile, Olivia's Lycanroc was in a fierce sparring match with Ash's Lycanroc. This was done to get them to learn new moves like Iron Head and Drill Run, which both of them started on mastering. Mallow and her Tsareena decided to watch the intense sparring between Rowlet and Toucannon. Tsareena was really hoping that Rowlet will win, as she started to think he's really strong after his victories against Decidueye and Braviary. Heck, there were times where the student was the mentor, as Rowlet showed Toucannon how to use Brave Bird and Steel Wing.
Ash and Gladion were sparring with their Pikachu and Silvally respectively, as they used their brand new moves of Brick Break and X-Scissor respectively. Then Ash decided to bring back an old classic in the form of Volt Tackle, though because he hasn't used the move in a long time, it required some refinement.
Meanwhile with Kiawe, he and Turtonator were trying to teach Ash's Torkoal how to use Shell Trap, thinking it would come in handy for the coal Pokémon in tough battles. Ash later on learned that Torkoal's ability was Drought, so he decided to bring Bulbasaur over so he can teach him Solarbeam. Solarbeam on a fire type would be very useful, as it counters all of the fire types weaknesses. The more Ash thinks about it, the more he thought he should have taught that move to his other fire types. Meanwhile, Kiawe's Marowak was sparring with Ash's Incineroar, and the fire tiger was starting to get the upper hand thanks to his dark typing, and his newest move; Darkest Lariat.
A few hours later
Ash: Phew, what a day
He and his Pokémon were resting from all the training they had done, and now they were given chilled water to cool off. Dracovish in particular guzzled it down life how a Snorlax is with food.
"Sirfetch'd Sir"
"Draco Draco"
Sirfetch'd made a comment about how messy Dracovish drinks, which the fossil Pokémon didn't like, and this resulted in them glaring at each other.
Ash: Hey easy there guys, we already did training, there's no need to tire yourself out even further
The two went away to cool off somewhere else, with Dracovish taking a dip into the ocean. Sirfetch'd meanwhile decided to use his leek to make a fruit kebob to munch on, which Toucannon decided to snatch to make him peeved.
Ash: Oh dear
Olivia: Those guys can be a handful huh?
Ash: You should've seen my other Pokémon
Suddenly, a light bulb went off.
Ash: You wait right here
He dashed into Kukui's house to make a phone call.
Guzma: What's with the kid?
Gladion: Don't know
The next day
Gladion: Welp, another day another session
Kiawe: I still don't know what went through Ash's WOAH!
They saw that the beach was practically infested with Pokémon of all shapes and sizes.
Guzma: The heck did all of these critters come from?!
Kiawe: I recognize some of them like Charizard, Butterfree, Boldore, and Krookodile, but the others, not so much
Suddenly, Turtonator let himself out of his pokeball to go challenge all of the fire types.
Kiawe: Oh boy
They then saw Ash heaving a big bag of Pokémon food
Gladion: Ash, what is all this!?
Ash: Oh, well I decided to gather all of my Pokémon that I caught during my travels, figured I could use them for future battles
Guzma: Well you know what they say, the more the merrier
Olivia: That is indeed true, plus it allows us to see Pokémon from outside the region
Ash then turned to all of his Pokémon.
Ash: Alright everyone, the Alola League is going to begin in a few weeks, don't get the wrong idea, we won't be participating, I am the Alola champion after all
The creatures began to murmur amongst each other.
Ash: What we're going to do is intense training, those who have shown the greatest fruit will be able to participate in the exhibition match
They all roared, wanting a chance to battle for a long time.
Ash: Here's how this works, it will work like a tourney, where the top 6 will be selected for the match
Charizard blew a Flamethrower into the air with enthusiasm, Infernape was so psyched that he looked like he was going to go Blaze at any moment. Heck, even the smaller Pokémon were excited, with Buizel wanting to go toe-to-toe with foes larger than himself. Gible wants a chance to use his mastered Draco Meteor against any possible opponent (except fairy types,) and even Totodile was dancing with such joy that he could faint at any moment.
Ash: Alright, now for those who want to see the lineups, take a look at the graph over there
He pointed to the piece of paper found on the wall of Kukui's house.
Ash: Don't worry, I made sure to make the matches as even as possible
They looked at the lineups, and they saw that Ash wasn't lying, with the exception of Wimpod, everyone was on the results. Pignite saw that he was squaring off against Quilava, and Totodile saw he was taking on Oshawott. For the more experienced Pokémon, Charizard was going up against Infernape, Bulbasaur was up againnst Bayleef, and even Goodra was facing Dragonite.
Olivia: Hold on, why isn't Wimpod on here?
Ash: Because he's not ready for battle yet, he needs to evolve first
Guzma: It's true, my Golisopod was not ready for battle when he was a Wimpod himself
The Pokémon would be facing off against each other on a makeshift arena that Ash made, the winner will be the one who is the last one standing, as of standard issue battles.
Ash: Alright everyone, you better be ready, because there will be no holds barred.
