"Uhhhhh..." Matt groaned out before seeing an endless black void. He then found himself bound by blue, energy like chains that restricted him. The host of Mario began to have some unpleasant memories of being a trophy again.

"Do not even bother," a voice rang out before appearing in front of the host. It was the same orb that had unleashed its onslaught of beams towards his team.

"You!" Matt snarled.

"Such a temper," the orb said in a condescending tone, "But then again, Mario had the same attitude when I took him and the others hostage."

"So you know my spirit?" Matt questioned, still with a threatening tone.

"I know more than you could possible imagine." the orb informed, "I am a god of this realm. My name is..." The orb began to shine bright before morphing into a human figure. The orb took the form of a woman with the same rainbow glowing wings, "... Galeem."

Matt had to prevent rolling his eyes. 'Great another god who wishes to rescope the world into their perfect image,' he thought.

"The world would have been mine. If I wasn't defeated the first time. But I have been given a second chance," Galeem informed, being discrete about her escape and savior.

"Part of me wants to know how," Matt said aloud, "but the other half just wants to beat you. I'll have you know we have taken down wannabe dictators and gods before. You will be no different."

"Is that so?" Galeem questioned before a smile appeared, "Last time I was defeated, a user of the powers of light and dark defeated me. But this time,"the goddess of light hovered close to the host, "I have taken more precautions this time. I know I missed one of you hosts, but rest assured. You all will join me."

"In your dreams," Matt spat.

"Suit yourself. I have other methods of getting followers."

Matt felt something warm hit his hat before it began to spread through out his body. He then felt his body become possessed, like the first time he arrived in the World of Trophies and was chosen, but this one felt more powerful and devious. The host of Mario slumped over before coming to...

With red glowing eyes. Many other fighters behind him all with the same eye color.

Galeem couldn't help but be pleased. Her army has returned. And no one would stop her. Not even that little one she missed.

Phasing back into existence, Kyle held onto his Warp Star for dear life. Curving downward, the Warp Star vanished before Kyle skidded to a halt. Due to his body being nearly indestructible with the help of Kirby's spirit, Kyle was fine and managed to stand up. When he saw the scenery, he couldn't help but be mesmerized.

The world expanded from various different places and biomes. There was a plateau and a lake next to what seemed to be a mushroom like area. Two large cities connected to one another with a jungle, a factory base, and a murky forest on its right and a forest with a stream on its left. Kyle made out a race track, a snowy mountain with a temple, and even a few planets that hovered a bit close to the world. There also happened to be a couple of towns, a series of river streams, a ribbon like road, and a castle. Across a bridge, there was a badlands, pink clouds that vaguely remind Kyle of that Magicant stage during the fourth tournament, a maze, another town on the coast side, a small island chain, floating islands, a mountain waterfall, and even a volcano.

"Well this is a lot to take in..." the pinkette commented, "... any advice, Kirby?"

'Poyo!' Kirby spoke.

"Wait? You have done this before?" Kyle asked his spirit.

'Poyo!'

"So, what do you suggest?"

'Poyo! Poyo!'

"Save our friends?" Kyle repeated before giving a hard look to the one responsible of this, "Good plan."

This wasn't his first time saving all his friends. He had saved half of his friends during the Subspace event. Plus he was familiar with Kirby's tales of defeating gods in his own universe. Stretching himself a bit, Kyle took off...

Ready to save his friends.

Kyle ran down the cliff he had warp onto, rushing to see if anyone was down here.

What he came across, really confused him.

He came across a short man dressed in black overalls, hat, and white shirt.

'Poyo?' Kirby said, curious about the character in front of them.

"I don't think that's one of our friends..." Kyle inquired. For starters, that doesn't look like any of the ones he knew, even the newcomers didn't resemble that.

'Ah. So once again you survive, Kirby,' an angelic voice said through the fighter.

"Yeah, you bet he and I survi-" Kyle began to retort before catching himself, "Wait? Again?"

'Yes, during my first reign, I missed two fighters, Kirby was one of them. The other... was more complicated.'

"Well, it doesn't matter!" Kyle stated with determination, "I'm saving my friends and you are not standing in my way!"

'Poyo!'

'Such folly thinking. Last time I was not as prepared. Merely scratching the surface,' the voice said before shifting to a more malicious tone, 'This time, I have more precautions for any resistance or rebellions. Since that is now settled. Mario. Bring him to me... dead or alive.'

Kyle was taken aback by that statement, "Dead or alive?!"

'Yes, a small drawback from me using my powers. The trophy rule has been abolished thanks to my... cleansing. So whether or not you survive, I will no longer have to deal with you.'

The conversation ended and the possessed puppet of Mario rushed at the host. Mario ran in, fist covered in flames and went for a right hook. Kyle's body began to shift into a stone, curiosity of Kirby's Stone Ability. The hook managed to hit but it didn't do as much damage, the possessed fighter cringed as he shook his hand in pain. It let him open to a Hammer Flip attack from Kyle, sending him flying. Kyle continued his assault by leaping up and giving a Condor Combo Dive with the Wing Ability.

Kyle was inclined to make a joke, but he was determined to fight. Choosing one of his Copy Abilities, the pinkette went for his Cutter Ability, gaining a yellow cap with black dot like eyes. He began to charge up a Hyper Boomerang and flung it. What he didn't take into account was the possessed puppet to take a metal coat. Now with a metal layer, 'Mario' rushed in and slugged Kyle in the chest, due to him being surprised by the development.

Kyle skidded back, now more enraged at the cheap shot and trick. So what if he could morph into metal? So could he.

The host of Kirby took the form of his Metal Copy Ability, matching his metallic opponent with his own. The puppet went to punch his opponent, Kyle merely enduring the hit as he is impervious to attacks. Kyle socked the puppet in the gut before landing a flurry of jabs to send the metallic opponent flying. Seeing he was not getting anywhere, 'Mario' shifted back to his normal state. Seeing how his opponent was no longer metal, Kyle decided to play fair shifting out of his Metal form and donned a green hat while gaining a sword.

With his Sword Copy Ability, Kyle had a master of swordsmanship skills in his department. The host of Kirby went for Overhead Slash, slashing through his opponent before following up with Multisword Attack. The rapid slashes from his sword rendered 'Mario' unable to fight back and was sent flying again. In a last ditch effort, the puppet went metal again but this time, Kyle had a different plan.

Swapping out his green hat, Kyle gained a fire crown that replaced his pink hair with a living fire. He launched himself forward, performing Burning Tackle and rammed the metal puppet. The fire acted as it would, doing more damage with the metallic body. Kyle decided to finish the battle with one final Hammer Flip. He held it for a while, the head part beginning to cackle with flames and with a mighty swing, Kyle careened the puppet, knocking it out.

The puppet dissolved before revealing a spirit: a mossy like mollusk creature.

"Another spirit?" Kyle questioned. The Smoky Progg merely floated around before vanishing into a random conveniently pouch nearby. "Any clue on what that was?" Kyle asked his spirit.

'Poyo.'

"Nothing, huh?" Kyle began to become a bit stumped but if a pouch was here for a spirit, could that possibly mean that there are other spirits out there? All working for this sun?

"Well whatever it is," the host told his spirit, "We will find the others."

'Poyo!' Kirby replied, equally determined to defeat Galeem once again.

Kyle began on his way again but was stopped when a lightning bolt, fireball, and torrent of water intercept his path. The host now had his attention on three different colored Yoshis. The yellow one had brief sparks of electric from his body, the red one had a few flames breathing from his mouth, and the blue one snarled with droplets of water rising from the ground. Kyle deduced that they were more puppets and readied himself for another fight.

The yellow went first, firing lightning bolts nonstop. Kyle responded by generating a green fire crown, now having his Plasma Copy Ability. The host of Kirby fired Plasma Needle, which intercepted the incoming bolts and exploded. A fireball was shot next, and Kyle fired a Plasma Arrow instead this time. A torrent water followed up and this time Kyle erected a Plasma Barrier. Kyle grit his teeth as the water was joined by a concentrated fire and thunder blast.

The host of Kirby knew this wasn't going to be a fair fight with a 3-on-1. But he had some experience with this kind of match up using the simulator for practice. In a quick motion, Kyle donned a tornado crown and spun using Tornado Dash. Generating a cyclone, the host spun through the three dinosaurs. After dazing the puppets, Kyle came to a stop and decided to play with them a little.

Kyle gained a cap and a yo-yo for the first one to recover, which was the yellow one. The Yoshi rolled forward with Egg Roll but the egg broke apart when Kyle used Yo-Yo Orbit before wrapping the toy around the dinosaur. He then performed Hammer Drop, slamming the yellow puppet into the ground and out of the match. Now the host had to face the two Yoshis.

Noticing the lack of their comrade, both remaining Yoshis growled before launching forward. The red one was covered in fire and blue one in water, which reminded Kyle of Flare Blitz and Waterfall. The host of Kirby swapped his Yo Yo Ability for a blue bandanna. With his Suplex Copy Ability, he used Dash Grab and using his newfound strength, halted the incoming attacks and followed up with Pile Driver, burying the two opponents into the ground. Kyle rushed back down, grabbing the red one and performed a German Suplex on it and ended the red Yoshi before using Torrent Lariat and flinging the blue one away.

With all three Yoshis defeated, they began to glow and transform into a brown fox. Kyle was able to deduce it as an Eevee spirit before being drawn into the same pouch.

"This is just getting weirder and weirder," Kyle muttered before pressing on. He came to a stop when he saw a sleeping Jigglypuff with a red bow. Kyle almost rolled his eyes.

This was beginning to be a common occurrence. But the nonetheless, Kyle merely rolled his shoulders and snuck towards the sleeping Balloon Pokémon. The pinkette gained a hammer and swung a massive Hammer Flip, sending the sleeping fighter away.

The host of Kirby squinted his eyes, seeing the spirit of a red-feathered owl float back. The Celeste spirit floated towards the pouch much like the rest.

Kyle soon came across an archway as he descended from his starting area, but he took a quick step back as a fireball was shot in his path. The pinkette soon eyed a figure on the archway. But unlike the other puppets, this one was more... human.

The figure was an Italian teenager with brown hair and blue eyes. He had blue overalls, a red shirt, brown boots, and a red hat with a 'M' stitched on it. "Well well, you are more resilient then I thought..." Matt's voice said, altered from his usual tone.

"What can we say," Kyle retorted, "We rather fall than join someone bent on shaping the universe in their own image."

Matt merely shook his head, the spirit residing in him speaking for him, "You fail to see what Galeem is truly doing. She's making a world where only the power of light reigns. It shall be her will."

Kyle glared at whatever was possessing the leader of the Smash Bros. This Galeem did not have the right to rewrite the entire universe just because she saw it unfit. He and his friends were going to put an end to this.

"But since you are being rather annoying in my goddesses eyes," Matt spoke, his own red eyes glaring right back at the host, "It would be an honor to defeat you and end your little resistance." With that said, Matt leapt off and generated two fireballs before hurling them.

Kyle was no stranger to Matt's moves and vice versa. Kyle swapped to a water crown and unleash Geyser, extinguishing the flames. The smoke provided cover but Matt descended feet first, going to stomp on the host of Kirby. The pinkette quickly shifted to his Fighter Copy Ability and went for Rising Break. The stomp and uppercut met each other before the uppercut won.

Matt was sent flying but recovered before pulling out a Cape Feather and donned a yellow cape. Kyle inflated himself allow him to float for a moment, then gained a small miniature jet on his head. Using the Jet Copy Ability, he rushed forward and impacted the host of Mario with Jet Dash. Matt was sent flying to the ground and recovered before becoming angry with his opponent.

Matt shifted through a few of his power ups before finding one he could put to use. He took out a Super Leaf and gained a raccoon like tail and ears, before taking off and whipping his tail around. The attack smacked Kyle away and plummeting down, with Matt hot after him. The host of Mario caught up and gave an overhead punch, added with flames, and smacked the pinkette.

Kyle arose, shaking off any soot on his body as Matt returned to the ground. The possessed host of Mario discarded his Super Leaf power up and generated more fireballs, this time utilizing his Firebrand.

"Give it up," the loyal spirit said, "You cannot win. You cannot stop the true goddess of light. Submit yourself and be apart of the change."

"Wrong," Kyle shot back, "Just because you possessed all of my friends, you think I will give up? Fight for a cause that makes me seem foolish? No. All it takes is one person. And I refuse to lose to a cheap copy of the original."

"Copy? Congratulations. You just dug your own grave," 'Matt' responded before hurling an assortment of fireballs towards his opponent. Kyle stood strong before smirking.

Kyle opened his mouth, using Inhale to eat the fireballs. As soon as the fireballs ceased their assault, Kyle's cheek puffed out before spitting out a large star that collided with the Galeem loyal host. The impact knocked the host of Mario out of the fight.

The pinkette could only wait for the leader to recover.

A few minutes later, Matt came to. He got up and saw Kyle standing in an aggressive stance.

"Kyle?" Matt said with his real voice and lack of red eyes.

"Matt!" Kyle immediately dropped his stance and hugged the Fighter 01 host, crushing his lungs in the process.

"Kyle... can't... breathe..." the host of Mario wheezed as the host of Kirby released his friend, the latter sheepishly scratching his head.

"Sorry, it's just your the first host I came across," Kyle informed as Matt brushed himself off.

"The first?" the Italian repeated.

"Yeah, seems this Galeem character took you guys hostage and use you as a vessel," the pinkette deduced before explaining what had happened since his abduction.

Matt partially glared at the mention of Galeem. "So she's using us against our will." Kyle nodded at the deduction. It made them wonder where their friends are now.

The thought was interrupted when a blue laser was fired at their direction. The laser caused an explosion that knocked the two hosts back before they caught themselves and readied them for their opponent.

To their surprise, it wasn't a puppet fighter but an actual Guardian Stalker from the Legend of Zelda universe. The spider like technology noticed the two hosts and became to hone in on Matt, seeing he was the closest. Matt immediately took cover, making sure he had some distance before the laser was fired again.

Matt immediately started to fish out a power up to aid him against the Sheikah weapon while Kyle came in with his Beetle Copy Ability. The host of Kirby rushed in, horn first, preparing to stab the weak point. The Guardian targeted the incoming host and fired in rapid succession, who dodged them before landing a Rocket Horn. The attack didn't hit the eye, only scratching the rough exterior. Kyle fluttered around and went in again with other Rocket Horn but missed as a laser shot his wings. The Guardian began to scurry its way over, intent on blasting the host into obliteration but a boomerang to the back of its head, causing it to turn its attention.

Matt, in his Boomerang Suit, partially gulped at flinging the boomerang at such a dangerous foe. The Stalker decided to deal with the real nuisance first but Kyle had rolled away and gained the Beam Copy Ability, waving his wand. The pinkette fired a Beam Wave, striking the Guardian in the eye doing massive damage to its internal circuitry before fizzing. The Guardian stopped fizzing and began to fire wildly at the two hosts.

Kyle shifted to a Mirror Copy Ability, waving his wand to cast Reflect Force, deflecting the beams that came his way. Matt leapt out of the way of the lasers, jumping away from each strike. The laser shots began to die down and the host of Mario rushed the Sheikah weapon. The Guardian began to target the incoming figure and scurried towards him. Matt reached for his Ultra Hammer and leapt up before smashing his hammer onto the Guardian with such force. The impact caused the technology to crater into the ground.

The Italian raised his hammer and readied for any movement the Sheikah technology might have left. In a last ditch effort, the Guardian readied another laser blast, this time to eradicate the two hosts. The moment it fired, Matt swung his hammer like a bat and sent the laser right back before towards the eye. The laser caused the Guardian exploded before turning into a spirit itself.

Matt wiped his forehead from the fight as Kyle approached him. The spirit of the Guardian Stalker soon entered the spirit pouch that Kyle had.

"I thought there were only puppet fighters?" Matt questioned, exhausted from the ordeal. Kyle began to ponder how a spirit like that had an actual body and stuff.

'Wait-a a minute,' Mario said before addressing his host, 'I do recall Kirby saving me-a before a R.O.B. puppet attacked us with that-a exact possessed spirit.'

"What are you saying?" the host asked his spirit.

'Galeem did the same crusade before. But this time, she seems to have more assistance this time.'

"Hey, yeah!" Kyle said before recalling what the Goddess of Light said, "She did say she has more precautions since this is her second reign. Stopping any resistance rather then using puppets constantly."

"So there are probably a few spirits out there that have their true body," Matt thought aloud before pounding his fist together, "Well, whatever Galeem throws, we'll be sure to beat them and rescue our friends." Kyle nodded at that.

With that declaration, the two hosts walked on, eventually coming across a run down Roman arena.

"What is this about?" Galeem questioned as her spirit that inhabited Matt returned to her.

"It regards my vessel," the loyal spirit said.

"What about him? He's the host of Mario, nothing else."

"Yes, but... he is not of this world."

"What do you mean, not off this world?"

"A world beyond our own. A universe beyond our reach."

"... Go on..."Galeem interestedly said. Maybe this could tell her about what the big deal of these hosts are.

A/N:

Seeing as Kirby in Smash can shift between his different copy abilities from his series (even though it's not canon) with Stone, Fighter, Hammer, Cutter, and Burning (through dash attack), Kyle can do the same.

Digihero2001: About that story, I hit writer's block with it. I made a note about it but as of right now, I am struggling a bit with the direction I am trying to go with it. It may be updated but not anytime soon.

SmashBrosOdyssesy: Thanks for the encouragement. I enjoy reading your stories as well, so I am glad you enjoy it.
