(A.N. sorry this has taken me a while, I'll have more time to write after this week. Hope you enjoy the chapter and are enjoying the story :) )

The next morning, Gabriella got ready to take the bus to school since Troy and Jack were already in the gym in practice for their upcoming game. She said goodbye to the twins as they were leaving for a field trip for the day. Hugging the boy first, she looked at both of them. "Promise you two will stick together today and look after each other?" They nodded, making her smile. "I'm glad, have fun today."

Jacob kissed her cheek. "Bye Gabriella."

"Bye Jakie." She watched as the boy walked to his mother and turned her attention to her sister. "Are you feeling ok?"

Lilliana nodded. "Yeah, just a bit nervous to go on the bus."

"It'll be fine Sweet Girl, I promise."

The girl nodded and hugged Gabriella. "I love you Bria."

"I love you too Livie, have a good day today." Lilliana nodded, responding 'you too.' Placing a kiss on her cheek, Gabriella stood and walked with her sister to the car. "I'll see you this afternoon."

As she walked to the bus stop, she thought back to the events of the previous night. While Lilliana was in the shower, she went to talk to Jacob.

(Flashback)

Gabriella knocked on the boy's open door, quietly asking "Can I come in?" Jacob nodded from his place on his bed and the junior came and sat on the edge. "I'm sorry if we made you upset by being here, I didn't realise you were feeling that bad."

The boy shook his head. "It's not your fault, it's just different now and it was hard to have to share Troy."

"I can imagine that it was a big change, you were too little when it happened for you to remember anything different."

He nodded slowly, "yeah, it's a good thing though. Mom and Dad aren't sad anymore. Whenever we saw girls around school or the shops, she'd get quiet and upset. And Troy's not angry anymore. He always said it was his fault even when Mom and Dad said it wasn't."

"Well it's all better now and it wasn't Troy's fault, the people who stole her were very mean people, he shouldn't blame himself."

After a few seconds silence, the boy moved and hugged Gabriella. "I'm sorry I said I hate you and Lilly and I wish you were never here. I didn't mean it. I like having a twin and it's fun playing with you and Troy. I'm happy you and Lilly came to live with us."

The junior smiled, hugging the boy back and placing a kiss on his hair. "I'm happy we came here too Jakie."

(end flashback)

She finished the thought as the bus pulled up and she got on and seated for the ride to school.

When she got to her locker, she found her group of girls at her locker and saw as they looked her weird. "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me?" As she looked at their attire and around at the surrounding student body, she turned back to them questioningly. "Why is everyone wearing gym clothes?"

Taylor sighed. "We have the field day, remember?"

"Oh my god, that's right, sorry, I had a rough night with my sister, it slipped my mind. What am I gonna do?"

"Well you certainly can't wear that," Taylor said, gesturing to her jeans and sweater.

Sharpay spoke up. "I've got spare clothes in my locker, come." Gabriella followed Sharpay to her locker and the girl pulled out a pair of black booty shorts. "Sorry they're usually for my dance rehearsals after school."

Gabriella looked down at the material in her hands that could hardly be called shorts and then back up to her friend. "Shar, are you joking, what is this supposed to cover, the only way I'd think about wearing these would be under a skirt."

The girl looked serious at her before bursting out in laughter. "Gabriella, chill, I was kidding and I just wanted to see your face." She handed her a pair of pink yoga pants and a grey tank top. "I will warn you beforehand, those will be tight but they'll highlight your boobs and your butt."

"But I don't have a body like yours."

"Oh shush, now go get changed, homeroom starts soon." Gabriella went and got changed into the clothes and true to Sharpay's words, they highlighted just that. The girl felt self-conscious as she walked back to her group of friends which were now accompanied by the basketball team. She took a place beside Troy and Kelsi as Sharpay grinned at her. "Hottie." Gabriella only shook her head and waited for the conversation to restart before she felt Troy lean down to her.

"Can't say I pictured that outfit."

She shook her head. "It's Sharpay's, I forgot and it was my only option unless I wanted to run around in my jeans and sweater."

"That makes more sense and sorry, I forgot to remind you."

She shook her head and was about to speak when she felt a smack on her butt. She turned around – as did the group – and found Ryan grinning. "Nice ass Montez."

"What the hell." Troy said shoving him, "Don't touch her."

"Or what Bolton?"

Gabriella spoke up quietly. "Leave me alone Ryan."

The boy smirked at her before walking away, making her shiver. Troy pulled her in front of him, from his place against the locker and she leant back into him as he placed an arm around her waist. He leant down to whisper in her ear. "We'll go past and get my hoodie on the way out to the oval so you don't feel so exposed."

"Thanks Troy."

The bell rang for them to go to homeroom and as they were walking, Troy noticed a large majority of the male population staring at Gabriella's chest and butt. He pulled her away from the group, telling them to inform Ms Darbus that they'd be a little late. As he pulled Gabriella away, she questioned him. "Troy what are we doing?"

"We're getting my hoodie."

"But I thought we were getting it after homeroom."

"We were but I don't like everyone staring at you -" He softened. "I just - I know you feel self-conscious – which you shouldn't – but I don't like them staring at you in a way that you don't want them to." He unlocked his locker and handed her his wildcats hoodie. He smiled as he watched her put on the large hoodie that was too big for her and softened as she snuggled into its warmth. The hoodie was baggie around the tight-fitting tank top and reached a few inches above her knees. "Feel better?"

"Definitely, thanks Troy." She said, giving him a hug. As they walked back to homeroom, she questioned him. "Why did it bother you so much that the guys were staring at me?"

He only shrugged slightly as she pushed further. Sighing as he saw their homeroom, he paused, stopping Gabriella as well. "I promise I'll tell you even though it's wrong and I shouldn't, but just not right now, I'll take you somewhere more private during lunch." She nodded and they walked into the classroom. "Sorry we're late Ms D."

"And what reason do you have for this unpunctuality."

"Well we had to stop by my locker to get my hoodie, because SOME people in this school have no respect for women and can't keep their eyes to themselves."

Ms Darbus sighed at the response. "Very well, take a seat, we're just about to leave for the oval."
