The gang sat at lunch the next day, a few different conversations going on at the table. Troy glanced across at his girlfriend, knowing she hadn't offered any of her input into any conversation and squeezed her hand out of view. "Are you ok?" She nodded in response. "What's up, you haven't said a word?"

"I'm worried about her Troy."

The boy sighed. "I know but there's only a few hours left until we get to see her, besides I'm sure Lilly's fine."

Chad's head shot up at the latter statement, zoning in on Troy. "Lilly as in Lilliana?"

Troy's eyes widened at Chad's recollection and stood, grabbing the boy and turning to his table. "We have to do some work on a project." He looked over at Gabriella. "You mind coming with us? We could use a little help." Gabriella nodded slowly, unsure of what had caused his sudden outburst but followed the boys as they walked into the empty gym and up to the top bleacher.

"Dude what the hell, why'd you flip out like that?"

Troy sighed, "Look I'm telling you this 'cause you're my best friend and you seem to know more about this situation than I thought but you have to swear that what we say doesn't leave this room, no one can know, understand?"

"Understood Troy, I swear."

"Ok well to answer your question, yes Lilliana, we-we have her back."

Chad grinned. "God Hoops that's awesome, I'm so glad. Where was she? How'd you get her back? What's she like now?"

Troy squeezed Gabriella's hand as she spoke. "That's where I come in Chad. We're not family friends like we've been telling everyone, I was with her, we were both kidnapped. And we only found out 'cause I was doing an assignment on child abduction and saw her poster."

"I'm so sorry Gabriella, I'm sure you're glad to be back with your family?"

Gabriella shook her head. "I'm not back with my family, my parents died in a car accident eight years ago. Mr and Mrs Bolton were just nice enough to take me in. And I was called up to Principal Matsui's office yesterday because my cousin was trying to get in contact with me."

"Jeez Gabs, I'm sorry you've had all that happen." He directed his next statement to both of them. "But how come you can't tell the others this. I understand Gabriella's past is difficult to tell but everyone would be accepting."

Troy shook his head. "It's not as simple as that. We didn't get along great when they first came and the issue is Gabriella knew Lilly as Olivia so she's told all the girls about her sister and it'd be really difficult to explain that Olivia and Lilliana are the same person. We're gonna tell them eventually, just not yet."

Chad nodded and his eyes drifted to their joined hands, making him smirk. "Alright, I can accept that and I'll keep your secret, but you wanna tell me what's goin' on there." He said gesturing to their hands."

They looked down and blushed, Troy speaking. "Well Gabriella's my girlfriend but we haven't been able to tell anyone. My parents wouldn't be happy if they found out we were together 'cause they'd think it's inappropriate in front of Jakie and Lilly and they'd probably break us up. And 'cause Dad works here, we have to hide our relationship at school too."

Chad nodded understandingly. "Alright, fair enough. I won't tell anyone a thing, I swear. But I have to say, I'm not surprised." He looked at Gabriella. "This doofus has been drooling over you for weeks."

Troy tried to hide his blush as Gabriella giggled, wanting to make him feel better, she responded. "That's sweet and judging from the constant questions I've been getting from Sharpay, I don't think I've been very subtle either."

Chad rolled his eyes. "Anyway we should probably get back to the gang before they come looking." He took a head start wanting to give the couple a few moments alone before they had to pretend again.

As they walked down the stairs of the bleacher and reached the bottom court, Troy wrapped an arm around Gabriella's shoulder, bringing her close into his chest and kissing her forehead. "What was that for?" She asked innocently, making him smile.

"Just 'cause I wanted to." He leaned his forehead against hers and whispered. "I don't wanna sound cheesy but I'm falling for you Brie."

"I'm falling for you too." She said, pecking his lips. They stood in silence for a few seconds before Gabriella sighed. "Come on Wildcat, time to face the real world again." She pulled on his hand, leading them to the entrance door where they had to separate and hide behind their mask once again.
