(A.N. Sorry this has taken a while. I'm heading into a big exam period for the next few weeks so I'll probably only be able to upload chapters once a week so sorry in advance for the inconsistency. Thank you to everyone who's reviewing / offering feedback, I really appreciate it and please feel free to let me know what you think of the story. Here's the next chapter of Tomorrow's Another Day and I hope you enjoy :) )
At first break, Troy had decided to take Gabriella up to the rooftop, knowing that she was tired of the looks and whispering she had endured all morning. He had felt bad when they had left world history that morning, knowing that she had most of the girls in her biology class and that majority of said class would not be subtle. "Are you ok, did anyone bug you during bio?"
Gabriella shrugged slightly. "No one outrightly asked but there was a lot of staring and whispering, I feel like it's all that's been happening all morning."
"I'm sorry Brie."
His expression faltered as she dropped her head against his chest in exhaustion and he rubbed her back before she sat back up properly after a few seconds. "I just wish no one found out and I could pretend it didn't happen and just get over it by myself. But now I have to feel like everywhere I turn, there's someone watching me or talking about me. I just don't get how everyone found out and why those reporters came to school."
"I think they have to, the police would've informed them so they could get the word out and to help find you. They did it when we lost Lil, it was everywhere, in the news, newspapers, anywhere we could. And I think they just want to make everyone aware of the danger."
Gabriella sighed. "I know, it's the right thing and I guess it's good that they do, it's just made things a little tougher, that's all."
"I know it has." He looped his arm around her shoulder. "But you've got me, Lil, Jakie, Mom, Dad and I'm sure when you tell them, our friends, we're all here for you and we'll all be there to help you through this."
She smiled for what felt like the first time that day and leant into him. "Thanks Wildcat." After a few seconds silence, she looked up to her boyfriend. "Would you mind if I asked one question?"
He shook his head. "Of course not."
"Do you think we should tell everyone at lunch that we're together or just about what happened, I just thought I'd ask because you've known them a lot longer than I have and you probably know them better than I do and if they'd tell 'cause I don't want either of us to get in trouble and -" She noticed him grinning at her. "What?"
"You're rambling Brie." He chuckled before taking her hand. "It's completely up to you, if you feel comfortable with them knowing, then we can definitely tell them. You have nothing to worry about with the guys, if I tell 'em not to say anything, they'll keep their mouth shut and the girls seem pretty trustworthy. The one you'd be most likely to have trouble with would be Sharpay but she wouldn't do anything intentionally, I think if you told her to keep it a secret so Dad doesn't go off, I think she would." Gabriella nodded. "Does that clear some things up?"
"Yeah it does."
The Wildcats met in the gym at lunch and Troy turned to Gabriella. "Would you feel more comfortable talking here or in Dad's office, it's completely up to you."
"We can just do it here, I don't want to put your dad out or anything." When everyone sat down, Gabriella could see the group looking at her anxiously, knowing they were desperate to ask questions. "Would you guys prefer to just ask questions and I'll answer or do you want me to just get it over with and spill everything?"
Kelsi spoke up on behalf of the group. "I think it'd be easier for you to just tell us what you are comfortable with us knowing so we don't overwhelm you with questions and if we still have some when you're done, then we can ask."
Gabriella nodded with a smile, silently grateful for the other quiet girl in the group. "Ok well you obviously know I haven't been here for a couple weeks and I'm sure you know by now that I was kidnapped..." She bit her lip and looked over at Troy for reassurance. "This is harder than I thought."
He silently took her hand, squeezing it gently. "Just take your time."
"I was taken by Scott and Blaire who were pretending to be my cousins. I didn't tell anyone this but I was kidnapped when I was young and raised by my kidnappers but we got away from them and moved to Albuquerque. Scott and Blaire worked for the people who kidnapped us and brought me back to Denver and that's where I've been and why I'm all bruised."
Taylor was the first to speak up. "God Gabs, I'm so sorry you had to go through that and your poor parents for having this happen twice."
Gabriella looked down. "My parents... they actually died in a car accident about eight years ago."
Zeke was the next to ask questions. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you come to Albuquerque if you're not with your family?"
Gabriella looked to Troy, not wanting to explain this part. "I know not all of you will know this but I have a sister, Jacob's twin, her name's Lilliana and she was kidnapped when she was two and she was with Gabriella. When Lilly came back, my parents took guardianship of Gabriella as well."
Kelsi spoke up. "Then why didn't you just tell us instead of saying you were family friends." She looked to Gabriella. "And what about your sister?"
Troy rubbed the back of his neck. "Well I was kinda a jerk when we met so we didn't start out on great terms and after all that, it got kinda difficult because Lilliana and Olivia are actually the same person."
The shock was clear on all of their faces and it was silent until Martha spoke up. "You know you could've told us, we would've been supportive and tried to help as best we could."
"We know Martha." Troy looked over to Gabriella who nodded at the silent question. "We actually have one more thing to tell you all but it cannot leave this group so everyone has to keep this to themselves no matter what." He felt Gabriella rub her thumb along the back of his hand as the group nodded. "Well Gabriella and I are actually together -" The girls squealing interrupted his sentence but he silenced them so he could finish. "But you can't tell anyone because of our situation. My parents would not be comfortable with us dating since we live together and they'd be worried about the twins not understanding and getting the wrong message so we're having to hide our relationship since Dad works here, so no one can say anything."
The group nodded and congratulated the teenagers, gushing about how it had been a long time coming. The bell soon rang and they went off their separate ways to class, relieved that their friends finally knew the truth and were supporting them.
