Chapter 6: Aquario's Challenge
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Last chapter of 2020. This was a crazy year folks but we made it through. I hope next year is better than this one. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves on the outskirts of the city as the sun was rising.
In the middle of the path Benkei and some Face Hunters were staring down a teenage girl with tan skin, light blue hair, a red jacket with a white and blue t-shirt under and tan shorts. This was Hikaru Hasama.
"I don't know what you guys are doing but I got things to do so move along." Hikaru said not having time for this.
"Sorry hate to break it to you but to get into this town you gotta pay the toll. To us Face Hunters." The grunts said taking out their launchers.
"Welcome to Bey City!" They said launching their bets.
Grabbing her launcher, Hikaru launched her blue bey. "Amateurs!" She declared.
As Hikaru's bey spins towards the Face Hunters it suddenly disappeared causing the two beys about to hit it to collapse shocking them.
"It disappeared?" Benkei said surprised.
Suddenly Hikaru's bey appeared behind them.
"How did that happen?" They gasp.
Smirking Hikaru ordered her bey to charge in and take them all down.
"Interesting." Benkei said as Hikaru caught her bey.
"There, consider me welcomed. Now out of my way." Hikaru said.
Almost instantly the Face Hunters cleared a path for her only for Benkei to step up.
"What? You wanna battle too?" Hikaru said readying herself.
"S-Sorry! We were just testing your skills." Benkei said quickly.
"Testing?" Hikaru said confused.
"What's your name?" Benkei asks.
"Hikaru Hasama. And this is Storm Aquario." Hikaru said holding out her bey.
"Hikaru Hasama. How would you like to take on some really strong bladers?" Benkei offers.
"How strong?" Hikaru asks interested.
The following morning at the B-Park, battles were going on all over.
In one battle, Kenta was taking on Takeshi.
"Come on you got him!" Takeshi said.
"You can do it!" Osamu cheers.
"You got this." Akira said.
Kenta looks to see Takeshi's bey was starting to wobble.
"Now! Go Saggitario!" Kenta said as Saggitarrio slams into Takeshi's bey causing a ring out.
"Yes!" Kenta cheers as his points go over 2000.
"Wow Kenta you're getting good." Osamu said.
"Yeah well he's been training with Ginga and Roxas so of course." Takeshi said.
In another battle Roxas was clashing with another bey.
"Hit him hard Driger!" Roxas said as Driger slams into the bey knocking it out of the ring.
"Yes." Roxas said as his point gage went to over 1300.
Nearby Hilary and Madoka were watching.
"Wow Roxas is getting good." Hilary said.
"Yeah you'd never guess he started only a few weeks ago." Madoka said putting her head on her hand.
"Seriously? Wow." Hilary said impressed.
Letting out a sigh Madoka was starting to develop a little bit of a crush ever since Roxas saved her.
In another arena, Ginga took out his opponent with one hit.
"No surprise those two advanced." Takeshi said.
"Better watch yourself Kenta. Whoever wins the next match is your opponent." Osamu warns causing Kenta to watch with interest.
"I may have lost last time Ginga but I'm a lot stronger since then." Roxas said readying his launcher.
"Can't wait to see." Ginga smiles readying his.

"Let it…" But before they could finish Ginga started to wobble.
"Ai ai ai ai coocka ratcha!" Ginga said before falling to the ground.
"Ginga?!" Kenta gasps.
"What just happened?" Roxas asks confused as Hilary and Madoka ran over to look at him.
Soon they were at the B-Pit as Ginga was laying in bed with a fever.
"Geez Ginga you had us worried." Kenta said.
"You should have told us you weren't feeling good." Madoka said.
"I'm fine guys, really." Ginga said trying to sit up.
"Oh no you don't." Hilary pushes him back down onto the pillow so Madoka can check his temperature.
"Wow that's high." Madoka said.
"He gonna be alright?" Roxas asks.
"It's just a cold Roxas. Everyone gets one." Hilary said.
"I've never gotten one." Roxas said surprising them.
"Wow really?" Kenta asks.
"Not once?" Madoka asks.
"Nope." Roxas said.
"Oh man do I envy you." Hilary said.
"You just sit tight Ginga, the doctor will be here soon." Madoka said.
"Doctor?" Ginga gulps in fear.
"Yeah I gave him a call. You'll feel much better when he gives you some medicine." Madoka said causing Ginga to turn blue.
"Me-Medicine?" Immediately Ginga hides under the bed. "I'm good I don't need a doctor!"
"What's wrong with him now?" Roxas asks.
"Ginga are you okay?" Kenta asks.
"I don't like medicine." Ginga whines.
"Seriously? You're scared of a little medicine?" Roxas cringed.
"Who likes medicine?! It tastes horrible!" Ginga whines causing everyone to laugh at his reaction. "It's not funny!"
Ginga tries to get away but Hilary grabs him again. "Get back in bed." She said tossing him back.
"Hilary!" Ginga begs.
"No buts." She glares.
Soon the doctor arrived and gave Ginga some medicine saying it was just a little cold.
"Ginga's been through a lot since coming here. It's been one tough battle after another." Kenta said.
"Hey Roxas, what do we do if they come looking for a battle with you and Ginga while he's sick?" Madoka asks.
"Yeah we can't let him leave until he's better." Hilary agrees.
"I guess I'll just have to handle these battles by myself until he does." Roxas shrugs.
'Even Roxas is getting stronger. If I don't get better those two will get way ahead of me.' Kenta thought.
As the sun was setting, we find ourselves at an old theme park in coliseum structure outside of town.
Inside, Hikaru was practicing for her battles.
Launching Aquario, it flew towards three rocks breaking them in half.
"Ginga and Roxas, I'm really looking forward to our battle." Hikaru smiles catching her bey.
Pausing Hikaru looks up at the sunset and remembers her goal.
"To win against strong opponents. That is the destiny I have chosen. I will not back down, I have a legacy to uphold and I will fulfill my mother's dream." Hikaru said determined.
Looking to the rocks, she fired Aquario one more time destroying them completely.
"And I won't let her down." She said.
At the B-Pit, Roxas and Kenta were sitting with Ginga and Hilary was nearby to make sure he didn't try to run away.
"Wow Kenta you're getting really high up." Ginga said looking at his points.
"I've been working hard. You and Roxas really inspire me." Kenta smiles.
"Really? Ginga I get but me?" Roxas asks.
"Hey don't sell yourself short Roxas. You got skills. Soon you might even beat me." Ginga said.
"Someday." Roxas chuckles.
"Hey Roxas what do you say you and I go practice later?" Kenta asks.
"Sure why not?" Roxas nods.
"I can't just sit on my butt forever." Ginga said trying to get up.
"Lay back down right now mister." Hilary glares.
"Sorry Hilary." Ginga said climbing back in terrified.
"Madoka told me to keep an eye on you and I plan on keeping that promise. Nothing's going anywhere so just take it easy." Hilary crossed her arms.
"Wow Hilary you're good." Roxas said.
"It's called Tough Love, boys." Hilary smiles when Madoka walks in.
"Hey is anyone hungry?" Madoka asks wearing an apron and holding what looked like a cake.
"Wow that looks good." Ginga said looking to Hilary. "Can I please?"
"One slice and then it's back to bed." Hilary said.
"Deal." Ginga said.
"Hilary you're the best." Madoka smiles.
"And don't you forget it." Hilary said.
Soon the 5 of them were sitting down to eat.
"Wow Madoka, this is amazing." Roxas said taking a bite.
"Oh thanks it's nothing too fancy." Madoka said.
"Smart, good with beys and a good cook. You're just full of surprises." Roxas said causing Madoka to blush.
"Oh you." Madoka said.
"He's right this is restaurant quality." Hilary said.
"It's just a simple combination of ingredients and a little creativity." Madoka said.
"Well this is a perfect combination." Ginga said taking a big bite of his.
"Perfect combination." Kenta pauses.
After the snack, Kenta and Roxas went down with Madoka.
"Hey Madoka is there any way I can make my own special move?" Kenta asks.
"Special move?" Madoka asks.
"Yeah Ginga has his Starblast Attack, Leone has his Lion Gale Force Wall and even Roxas' Driger has its Twilight Slash." Kenta said.
"True Kenta but making a special move isn't easy. You really gotta work for it." Roxas said.
"I know but if Saggitario and I can learn one we might be able to get much stronger." Kenta said.
"That's interesting, can I actually look at it. There might be a way you can." Madoka said getting their attention.
Putting Saggitario under a machine, the three of them saw specs of Kenta's bey.
"You see these three claws near the spin track?" Madoka points.
"Oh yeah I see them." Kenta said.
"You've never used them before in a battle before there might be a chance that if you do then you can create a special move just for Saggitarrio." Madoka said.
"My own move? But how do I figure out how to use the claws?" Kenta asks.
"That's for you to figure out Kenta." Roxas said.
"How did you figure out your special move, Roxas?" Kenta asks.
"I listened." Roxas said.
"Listened to who?" Kenta asks as Roxas took out his bey.
"To Driger. I followed Ginga's advice and for the first time I heard Driger and we made this special move." Roxas said.
"Wow, can you show me?" Kenta asks.
"Sure." Roxas said as Kenta got his bey back and the two of them left.
That night by the river, Roxas put down two targets.
"Alright Kenta watch me first." Roxas said as Kenta saw him take out his launcher.
"Let it rip!" Roxas launched Driger with all his might. "Now Driger Twilight Slash!"
Light and Darkness surrounded Driger as he leaped and smashed through the first target.
"Wow." Kenta said blown away.
"Alright now you." Roxas said stepping to the side.
"Let it Rip!" Kenta said launching his bey but once Saggitario hit the target he went right into a sleep out. "Okay that was just sad."
"You're not gonna get this on the first try Kenta. You gotta keep trying." Roxas said.
"Right, sorry." Kenta said getting ready to try again.
"What's this? You down a babysitter kid?" A familiar voice said.
"Huh?" Looking up they saw Benkei on the hill above them.
"You again Benkei?" Kenta gasps.
"What do you want?" Roxas asks.
"What else? I have a challenge for you and Ginga. I found a new opponent for you two. Hikaru Hasama." Benkei said.
"Fine where is this new blader of yours?" Roxas glares.
"You'll see her tomorrow at noon. We'll be at the Bey Coliseum outside of town and make sure Ginga comes with you." Benkei said walking away laughing.
"An incredibly strong blader?" Kenta said interested.
"I guess I'll have to go alone this time." Roxas said.
"But Roxas, Benkei said you had to come with Ginga." Kenta said.
"Kenta, Ginga's sick I can't ask him to battle." Roxas said when Kenta paused to think.
"Wait Roxas I have an idea that might work." Kenta said getting his attention.
The next day, Benkei was in the stands as Hikaru waited down below for her challengers.
"Where are they?" Benkei asks when two shadows enter.
Grinning Benkei was eager to see the two strong bladers but when they enter Benkei's eyes widen to see Kenta with Roxas instead of Ginga.
"What the? Where's Ginga?" Benkei asks.
"Are you Hikaru?" Roxas asks.
"That's right, who are you?" She asks.
"Roxas." He said.
"So then you must be Ginga." Hikaru said looking to Kenta.
"That's me, I'm Ginga Hagane." Kenta declares.
"What did he say?!" Benkei gasps shocked. "Oh no you don't!" Benkei got up and ran down the stairs.
"Well then Ginga, I'll take you on first." Hikaru said.
"Bring it." Kenta said readying his launcher.
Stepping back Roxas looks to Kenta. 'Okay Kenta good luck. I hope you do well.' Roxas thought.
'Ginga's too sick to compete, but if I wanna catch up him and Roxas I need to win.' Kenta thought.
"It's on!" Hikaru declared taking out her launcher.
"Let it rip!" Kenta and Hikaru said launching their beys.
"It's already started." Benkei said too late to stop it.
"Go Saggitario!" Kenta said but when the two beys clashed Aquario knocks it back.
"That bey is almost as fast as Pegasus." Roxas said.
"That bey must be an attack type." Kenta gasps.
"That was just a warmup! Go Aquario!" Hikaru said as her bey charged in.
"In a head on battle I'm at a disadvantage. Saggitario!" Right before impact Saggitario dodges the attack.
"Not gonna work!" Hikaru said as Aquario made a U-Turn and hit Saggitario.
"Oh yeah looking good." Kenta said.
"Looking good? You're kidding right?" Hikaru asks as Saggitario was dodging all of Aquario's attacks. "You can't run forever. Man up and fight."
"I am fighting. Stamina types have their own battle style." Kenta said.
"So that's your plan? You're gonna drag out the battle and attack when I'm out of power. How boring. Aquario!" Hikaru orders as her bey charged in.
"It's coming from the left." Kenta said as Saggitario was about to dodge when suddenly Aquario disappeared surprising everyone.
"What?!" Kenta gasps as Aquario reappears and smashes into Saggitario.
"Whoa sweet move." Benkei smiles.
"Hmm that thing was pretty fast." Roxas said.
"How did it disappear like that?" Kenta asks as Aquario disappeared and attacked him again.
'It didn't.' Roxas thought.
While everyone else was struggling to keep watch on it, Roxas could see the bey wasn't disappearing but moving really fast.
"If you can't see the angle of my attack then you can't dodge it." Hikaru smirks.
Cringing Kenta looks down to see Saggitario starting to wobble.
"What's wrong Ginga? Don't tell me that's all you got?" Hikaru points.
'It's no good I can't read her movements.' Kenta thought about to throw in the towel.
"Hey!" Roxas calls out getting his attention. "Don't let this small thing stop you. You can do this."
"But Roxas how can I win if I can't see it?" Kenta asks.
"Concentrate, figure it out. Or you'll never catch up." Roxas said.
'Roxas is right. I need to overcome this if I wanna catch up to him and Ginga.' Kenta thought when he suddenly heard something. "Wait."
Looking at Aquario he heard a noise changing performance tips just as it disappeared.
"That's it!" Kenta gasps. 'By changing the performance tip Aquario is able to increase his speed. Which means.'
"Now Aquario end it!" Hikaru said about to change.
"Go now!" Kenta said as Saggitario smashed into Aquario just before it could disappear.
"What?!" Hikaru gasps.
"No way." Benkei gasps.
"Nice one." Roxas grins.
As Aquario flew back it started to wobble slightly.
"It might not be strong enough to win with one move but now I can since I know Aquario's movements." Kenta smiles.
"You think so?" Hikaru asks confusing him. "I congratulate you on seeing the Performance Tip change, but I am far from down. Time to show you Storm Aquario's true power." She grins.
"True power?" Roxas said interested.
"There's more?" Benkei asks shocked.
"I'll show you!" Hikaru said as Aquario raced circles around Saggitario making multiple copies.
"They multipled?!" Kenta gasps.
"Can you figure out this special move?" Hikaru smirks.
"Wait are those real copies?" Roxas asks.
"I gotta get rid of them one at a time. Go Saggitario!" Kenta said as Saggitario charged in but once it made contact with the copies they disappeared.
"Ya missed!" Hikaru said as the real Aquario raced out and rammed into him.
"So Aquario is using its amazing speed to look like there are multiple copies of it. It's like an illusion." Roxas said impressed.
"I thought you were stronger than this. I have no time for weak opponents. Time to end this! Aquario Infinite Assault!" Hikaru declares as a giant tidal wave appears and all the copies converge smashing into Saggitario knocking it out.
"I-I lost." Kenta said dropping to his knees in defeat.
"Ginga Hagane, what a disappointment." Hikaru said catching her bey.
"Kenta." Roxas cringed feeling bad for his friends.
"Hikakru, she's even more amazing than I thought. And that kid, what was he thinking pretending to be Ginga?" Benkei asks.
'What have I done? Now it seems like Ginga lost rather than me. I gotta make this right.' Kenta thought when he noticed his points went down a little but he still had plenty left.
"I hope you're a better challenge than him." Hikaru said looking to Roxas.
"After Hikaru takes him down I'll have to go find the real Ginga." Benkei said as Roxas was about to walk over.
"We're not done here!" Kenta declares.
"What are you doing?" Roxas asks.
"I still have points left Roxas. I can still battle." Kenta said looking to him.
"But you lost." Hikaru reminds.
"But not the next time. As long as I have points I'll keep trying." Kenta declares.
"Are you sure about this?" Roxas asks.
"I need to do this." Kenta nods.
Narrowing his eyes Roxas steps back. "Good luck."
As the battles continued, Roxas struggled to stay on the sidelines as Kenta lost to Hikaru again and again as his points started to go down drastically.
"I'm done yet." Kenta pants.
"Please just tag out. Let me battle." Roxas said.
"No. I can do this." Kenta said.
"Doesn't this kid know when to give up?" Benkei asks when he noticed the determined look on his face. "Those eyes, that look…you're just like me kid." Benkei smiles.
"One more time." Kenta growls trying to ready his launcher but Hikaru did nothing.
"I have no reason to battle you anymore Ginga." Hikaru states.
Looking at his point gage, Kenta gasps in horror to see he had none left.
Gasping Roxas felt horrible for Kenta, all he wanted to do was get stronger but he lost everything for it.
Tightening his fist, Roxas looks to Hikaru.
"If you wanna battle me again Ginga you need to improve." Hikaru said walking out.
"Sorry Kenta." Roxas mutters before running out the other exit.
Dropping to his knees Kenta started to sob when someone walked up to him.
"R-Roxas?" Kenta asks.
"Wrong answer." Kenta looks up to see Beneki was looking down at him.
"B-Benkei?" Kenta said surprised.
Outside the bey coliseum by the cliff, Hikaru sat down drinking some water.
"What a disappointment." Hikaru sighs.
"Hey!" Hikaru turns to see Roxas walking out. "I think you forgot something."
"What are you doing here?" Hikaru asks.
"What else? I'm here to battle you." Roxas said as she stood up.
"You didn't seem to be this eager when Ginga lost again and again to me." Hikaru said.
"Because he wanted to win against you. He wanted to win more than anything, but since he can't battle anymore, I'm stepping in." Roxas said grabbing his launcher.
"Hmph I hope you're a better challenge than Ginga was." Hikaru smirks readying her launcher.
"Let's find out." Roxas said.
"Let it Rip!" Roxas and Hikaru said as both their beys flew in and clashed.
"Well it seems you're not afarid to get dirty." Hikaru smirks.
"Sorry Driger and I don't like playing it safe." Roxas said.
"Neither do I. Go Aquario!" Hikaru said as Aquario knocks Driger back.
"Oh no you don't! Hit her back Driger!" Roxas said as Driger charged in and knocked into Aquario making it fly briefly back.
"Again!" Roxas said as Driger charged in but at the last second Aquario disappeared and rams into Driger from the side.
"Aquario!" Hikaru said as Aquario disappears and rams into Driger multiple times.
"Man she's good." Roxas cringed when Aquario knocks Driger into the air.
"Gotcha now!" Hikaru said as Aquario leaps after him.
"Driger!" Roxas said as Driger dived down and knocked Aquario to the ground.
"Driger fight back!" Roxas said as Aquario disappears. "Now!"
Just as Aquario appears Driger smashed into it.
"What? How did you?" Hikaru said.
"You're fast but I've dealt with much faster opponents." Roxas said as Driger chased down Aquario and clashes with it sending sparks flying.
"Aquario show him who's the best!" Hikaru said as Aquario started spinning quickly making multiple copies of itself. "Scared?"
"Hardly. I've been keeping my eye on the real one this whole time." Roxas said as Driger charged in towards Aquario.
"He saw through it?" Hikaru said as Driger clashed into Aquario.
Flying backwards both beys stood in front of their bladers.
"Alright Driger time to win this! Twilight Slash!" Roxas said as light and darkness surrounded Driger and raced in.
"Oh no you don't! Aquario Infinite Assault!" Hikaru said as the giant tidal wave appeared and the copies charged in.
"Don't hold back Driger! Give it everything you got!" Roxas said as Driger appeared and raced forward.
Both beys clash creating a powerful shockwave that even caused the ground underneath Hikaru to crack.
"We're not going down that easy!" Roxas said as Driger charged through the copies and smashed into real Aquario sending it flying.
"What?!" Hikaru gasps as Aquario landed in front of her out of energy. "I-I lost." She said blown away.
"Phew that was a close one." Roxas said.
"I-I don't believe it." Hikaru said when suddenly the ground under her cracked louder causing her and Roxas to gasp as the edge of the cliff started to fall.
Screaming in horror Hikaru was about to fall when suddenly a hand grabbed her arm.
"Hang on!" Looking up Hikaru saw Roxas struggle to pull her up.
"Y-You saved me?" Hikaru said shocked.
"I got you just hang in there." Roxas growls.
As Roxas pulled Hikaru up both fell backwards.
Panting heavily, Hikaru looks to see she was laying on his chest.
"Are you okay?" Roxas looks at Hikaru and she blushes softly before climbing off.
"Uh yeah…thanks for that." She said trying to fix herself.
"Now it's one win and one loss between me and my friend." Roxas said.
"Don't get used to it. I'll be coming back to even the score with you." Hikaru said.
"I'll be waiting Hikaru." Roxas said as Hikaru walked away.
"He saved me, even though I talked so much smack about him and Ginga." Hikaru said feeling her heartbeat and it was still racing.
Both Roxas and Kenta came ready for battle but it appeared both were about to make unlikely friendships with Hikaru and Benkei.
