(A/N: This one-shot sort of takes place in the movie AU, where Geoff, Gewuji, Maggie, Blake and Mantis are also students at Ninjago High. Cirrus is absent, Gewuji is around Mantis' age, Geoff and Gewuji's mother was once in cahoots with Garmadon until she left following her conceiving Geoff, and their father is just a regular man)
It's hard being the son of an evil warlord, but what's even harder is that everyone suspects he will end up just like him. His only friends were once like that until they all became ninjas, but the public don't know it yet. But, there was one girl who often stood by his side.
15 year old Lloyd Garmadon was getting ready for the day as all of the students try their best to ignore him, or simply gave him a glare as they pass by. He came across his locker and opened it to find another pile of threatening notes inside. There were some that included 'Get yourself expelled', 'F**k off', 'Come to School, Go to Jail', or even death threatens before he threw them in a nearby bin and started to get his books fot class.
Further ahead were a group of students that consisted of 14-16 year olds before one of them with a black mullet and glasses tapped on the shoulder of a mahogany haired student. "Geoff." He whispered. "Geoff."
"Yeah, Blake?" He asked.
Blake points out to Lloyd. "There's Garmadon Jr."
Geoff turned to see him by his locker before smirking. "Maggie, you ready?" One of the students, a light brown haired girl smirked as she placed a skateboard on the ground, which some of the students notice before a student with dark brown hair kicks the board towards Lloyd.
Lloyd closed his locker and had just turned around to head to class, only to step on the passing skateboard, and before he knew it, he was sent falling to the ground, books and notes flying everywhere as he landed on the ground, hounded by laughter from everyone, except for, of course, his friends, and a certain black haired girl with dreadlocks. "Geoff, you moron, that was not funny!" The girl said, nudging him.
"Oi, lighten up, Gewuji." The dark brown haired boy replied as Lloyd got up and tried to recover his notes and books.
"He could've been hurt, Mantis."
"So what if he has been?" Blake asked.
"Come on, let's get to class." Geoff replied as they start to head down the hallway, except for the dreadlocked girl, among the laughing students, some giving them high fives.
Lloyd was still collecting his notes and books as Geoff, Maggie, Blake and Mantis come by. "Watch your hand." Maggie sarcastically said before stepping on his hand, causing him to groan in pain. "Oop, my bad." She kept moving along, and Geoff, Blake and Mantis step on any loose notes not picked up as the crowd started to disperse, and one student hands Maggie her skateboard back. "Thanks."
The girl with dreadlocks scoffs as she came up to Lloyd, who looks at his notes, ruined by the four bullies' footprints. "Great." He sarcastically muttered as he stood up.
"Hey, you okay?" Gewuji asked as she came up to him.
"Leave me alone, Gewuji. I don't need your pity."
"Hey, what they're doing is awful."
"Every day is awful, since I am the son of Lord Garmadon and basically the target for bullies at this school." They start to head down the hallway to head to class.
"I don't care. My mother once sided with your father."
"Until she betrayed him. I get the story, why do you keep telling it?"
"Just trying to make conversation."
"I can tell you one thing."
"What?"
"My father is more villainous than your mother ever was."
"Lloyd, I'm just saying that it will take time."
"15 years and still being hated."
"Guess I beat you by 5. See, we're a couple of kids whose parents were bad people."
"But did your mother ever total buildings? No, my father does that. Did your mother have a giant army on her side? No, my father has one. Did your mother fought against heroes? No, my father does so." They stop outside a classroom. "Face it, Gewuji. I know what you're doing. I can't go in a relationship with you. You'll end up just like me for being in a relationship with me."
"Hey, I don't care what they say. Just know that underneath those voices, they'll see an honest person like you, Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon." She brings him close to her before she pressed her lips onto his and moved back, leaving him speechless before she walked away.
Eventually, Lloyd and Gewuji had an on and off relationship with only his mother and friends knowing about it, until it ended completely when Geoff found out anout it from a friend and beat him up, leading to his expulsion despite other students' protests. Then, one day, after he and the team thwarted another attack by Garmadon, she told Lloyd that she and her brother have to transfer schools since their father got a new job out of town because Garmadon destroyed the building he once worked in, which lead to Maggie, Mantis and their friend with the black mullet to bully him a bit more.
