(A/N: This one-shot is set before Mantis' Accustoming: Ray and Maya. It was to sort of explain how Mantis changed his appearance after Ninjago: The Green Light Chapter 20)

While still learning how to live in Ninjago, Mantis woke up one day to look at himself in the mirror to see his medium length hair and beard before he decided to get it properly groomed.

Mantis walked along the hallway of the half rebuilt monastery, looking for the closest person he could come across and most of the monks wouldn't stop to speak to him, until he came across Jay, who was setting up a game console to a TV. "Hey, Jay." He called out.

"Oh, hi, Mantis." He replied. "Did you need something?"

"Yeah, where do I go for a haircut?"

"Oh, you go to a barber shop. That's where you go for haircuts, or a shave."

"Okay, then. Do you know where I should go?"

"Ooh, go to Pramesh's. My parents and I go to him all the time. It's on Ollies. Tell him I recommended you." Mantis gives him a thumbs up and walks away.

A few minutes later, Mantis was walking along a street in Ninjago City, where people were still rebuilding from the Sons of Garmadon Civil War as some were greeting him as he walked along while rubbing his beard. "I definitely need a shave." He then came across a building that was near completion. It had a sign with a pair of scissors and a cut throat razor crisscrossed, and the word 'Pramesh's'. Nodding that he got the right place, Mantis heads inside.

Inside, there were customers in barber chairs with employees cutting their hairs, shaving their facial hairs off or blow drying as a middle aged man was sweeping up some hair to a nearby vacuum by a wall, which soon sucked it up, surprising him, and the man notices. "Built in vacuum." He said, pointing to it. "You must be Mantis."

"Uh, yes." They shake hands. "Are you Pramesh?"

"That's me. Here for a haircut, or a shave?"

"Actually, a bit of both."

"Oh. Well, please sit, I'll be right along." He points to a nearby barber chair. "You can hang your jacket on the hanger." Mantis takes off his jacket as he looked at the coat hanger before putting it on it and went to sit down at the chair. Pramesh gets out a hairdresser cape and drapes it over Mantis.

A few minutes later, Mantis' hair was now shorter while some shaving cream was put on all over his beard and Pramesh was sharpening a cut throat razor. "So, how much is a shave these days?"

"5 Ninjagins?"

"That's a good deal."

"Well, some people don't know a good deal when they see one."

He then showed off the razor. "You know what? Maybe I don't need a shave."

Mantis prepared to get up, but Pramesh stops him. "Hold still. I wouldn't want to cut you." He immediately started to shave Mantis.

After a few seconds, Mantis was looking at his new haircut and clean shaven face while Pramesh looked at him. "I got to admit. Jay was right. It's perfect."

"Thanks, sir." Mantis puts his hand in his jacket pocket and hands him the payment. "Oh no, please, it's on the house."

"I insist, as I only came as an ordinary customer."

"Very well." Pramesh takes the money to count it before handing Mantis a bit of it back. "Your change, sir."

"Thank you." Mantis grabs his jacket and puts it on while walking out of the shop.

"Say hello to Jay for me."

"I will."

When he showed off his new look, the Ninja and Dragon were amazed, although Gewuji was a little disappointed he didn't keep the beard, or at least trim it short.
