It was Cole's turn to show Mantis life in Ninjago, and he thought a driving lesson might help him out. So, Cole told him to meet him at an empty car park just outside the mall, which had been closed down and abandoned because of the war.

Mantis was looking at a brown car with admiration and confusion as Cole got out and held his hands out to it. "What do you think?" He asked.

"Uh, what is it?" Mantis asked.

"It's a car."

"'Car'?"

"Transport. You see these around the city all the time."

"And, why are you showing me one?"

"Oh, it's my dad's car. I told him about you, and he loaned it to me so that you should have a crack at driving."

"Uh, sure." Mantis walks over to the car as Cole ran towards the other side to get in the passenger seat and let him get in the driver's seat.

Once inside, Mantis closed the door to look at the wheel before spinning it a little, expecting something. "Uh, it's not moving."

"Of course it isn't." He then points to the key in the ignition. "You just need to turn the key." Mantis puts his hand on the key and turns it, starting the engine. "Good. Now, there are some pedals underneath the steering wheel. The one on the left is the brake and the one on the right is the accelerator."

"Um, okay."

"Remember, brake means stop, accelerate means fast. Try to press the accelerator slowly." Mantis immediately does so, and revs are heard. "Good, now move the lever and turn the shift to the 'D', and we'll be off." Mantis does what he is told, but he still had his foot on the accelerator as the car soon took off, causing them to shriek. "BRAKE, BRAKE, BRAKE!" Mantis immediately slammed on the brake, stopping the car with a skid, and making him and Cole lean forward before they move back. "Okay, I should've told you to keep your foot off the accelerator while you're doing it. Now, you see those things at the front of the wheel?" Mantis nods. "Now, this one tells how many revs you're giving off, this one tells you your speed, and this one tells you how much gas is left in the car. Now, we're gonna take a few easy laps around the car park, and then we'll call it a day."

"Okay."

"See if you can keep the limit at, say, 25." Mantis presses the accelerator lightly, and the car started to move forward. "Now, you know how to turn a wheel, right?"

"Yeah, it's like a speeder, just not so fast, right."

"Perfect." Mantis turned the wheel to the left, and the car turns left.

After a few laps, Mantis stops the car and turns to Cole. "I think I should go for a license."

"And you had me to thank for it." They both soon get out of the car, intent on swapping over, but Mantis neglected to put the handbrake back on, and the car started to move backwards.

"Whoa!" They both said as the car moved away from them before it crashes into some bollards. They both look at it, in shock. The back of the car had dents in it from hitting the bollards.

"I guess I forgot to tell you to put the handbrake on."

"Hope your father isn't gonna be angry." Mantis said.

"Me more than you."

And he was. Thankfully, the only thing damaged was the rear bumper, which Ed and Edna had replaced, and Mantis was given proper lessons before he would officially go for a driver's license, which he got on his fifth try.
